The world of education is one of the fundamental sectors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. With the implementation of social distancing, the learning system that was originally face-to-face becomes online (in a network). The existence of a learning system from home or distance learning experiences various kinds of obstacles. Learning is not optimal due to limited access to teaching and learning. The selection of the right learning model is one of the keys to overcoming these obstacles. STEAM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) integrated with project-based learning (PjBL) is an alternative to online learning that has characteristics in line with teaching and learning situations and conditions that are dominated by the use of information and communication technology. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a quantitative approach. The subjects in this study were students in the sixth grade of elementary school, as many as 30 people. The data was collected using observation and documentation techniques and then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively related to the achievement of students objectively. The results showed that 74.1% of PjBL's integrated STEAM learning achievements were in the "good" category, meaning that they were effectively applied in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This study was motivated by the low level of students' critical thinking skills in the learning process. This is based on the findings when researchers made observations, where during learning activities students were unable to provide a simple explanation of the material being studied, unable to conclude, unable to provide an explanation of the material being studied, and unable to identify assumptions. This is because applying a learning model is less able to develop students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine and get an overview of the improvement of critical thinking skills of grade VI elementary school students by applying the SOLE (self-organized learning environments) learning model. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) model Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model. This research was conducted in grade VI elementary school, as many as two cycles. Each cycle consists of one lesson and four stages, namely, planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instruments used in this research are observation sheets, field notes, test question sheets, and documentation. The results of this study showed an increase in the percentage of students' critical thinking skills in cycle I by 63% with a good category, in cycle II to 82% with a very good category. From these results it can be seen that there was an increase from cycle I to cycle II by 19%. This proves that the SOLE (Self Organized Learning Environments) learning model can improve the critical thinking skills of grade VI students in one of the elementary schools.

The topography of each region has its own characteristics. These characteristics will consciously affect every aspect that lives around it. This arises because of the adaptation process experienced by every element of the environment that lives in the region. Because of the differences in topography, the placement of environmental elements in the minds of students and students' needs for the environment in each region will also vary. Based on this, this research was conducted with the research subjects of 5th grade students in an elementary school in Purwakarta Regency. This research uses phenomenological research methods with observation and interviews as data collection techniques. The results found that all subjects were naturally interested in all elements of the environment in their school, they represented this with the adjectives happy, exciting, curious and pity. Regarding students' needs for the environment, three out of five subjects expressed that they needed more knowledge about soil. This includes the replacement of soil function with paving blocks, soil texture, fauna in the soil and soil processes that can make plants grow. It can be concluded that students' placement and needs for their environment depend on the elements of the space they live in
