Abstract

Abstract

Character education in a micro context, centered on a holistic education unit. Education unit is the main sector that optimally utilizes and empowers all existing learning environments to initiate, improve, strengthen, and continuously enhance the character education process in educational units. Education is what will make serious efforts and always be at the forefront of efforts to form the true character of Indonesian people. Character development is divided into four pillars, namely teaching and learning activities in class, daily activities in the form of cultural development of educational units; co-curricular and / or extra-curricular activities, as well as daily activities at home and in the community. In order to realize the goals of education in schools, effective management is required, with the aim of ensuring: 1) community access to adequate education services; 2) the quality and competitiveness of education and its relevance to the needs of society; and 3) effectiveness, efficiency and accountability of education management. Appearance, service, & achievement (3P) are not new things in schools, but in fact there are still schools that do not pay attention to 3Ps properly. For example, there is still a school identity in the form of a school name board which is in a dull and rotten condition so that it cannot be read clearly & cannot provide accurate information about the school. Another example, there are still schools that ignore cleanliness, safety, comfort & beauty of the school environment such as yards, rooms (buildings) & others. Likewise, the school's lack of attention to neatness, cleanliness & harmony in the appearance and behavior shown by its residents. According to Simon Philips, character is a collection of values that lead to a system, which underlies the thoughts, attitudes and behaviors that are displayed. Meanwhile, Doni Koesoema understands that character is the same as personality. Personality is considered as a characteristic, or characteristic, or style, or characteristic characteristic of a person that comes from formations received from the environment. In this sense the root of all evil and evil acts, evil acts, lies in the loss of character. Strong character is a fundamental view which gives the human population the ability to live together in peace and form a world filled with good and virtue, free from violence and immoral acts.

Abstract

This study examines the factors that influence FDI in OIC member countries in the ASEAN region: Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam. Foreign direct investment is considered an important source of capital for the economic growth of developing countries. FDI flows to developing countries reached USD 837 billion in 2021, with Southeast Asia being one of the largest recipients. This study uses time series data from 2000–2022 and a VECM model to analyze the causal relationship between FDI, exchange rates, inflation, CO₂ emissions, exports, and imports. The results show that exchange rates and inflation have a significant impact on foreign direct investment in the long term, while CO₂ emissions, exports, and imports are not significant, differing from some previous studies that emphasized the role of trade and the environment. These findings indicate that macroeconomic stability, regulation, infrastructure, and institutions are key determinants of FDI flows. Although the impact of green policies has not been significant, initiatives such as carbon taxes and clean energy programs in the three countries show potential for attracting sustainable investment in the future.

Abstract

Pension funds function as instruments for long-term welfare protection; however, their development in Indonesia remains constrained by low financial literacy, limited public participation, and governance and fiscal sustainability issues, including investment irregularities in state pension institutions. In line with rising demand for sharia-compliant financial instruments, the Maqashid Sharia framework emphasizes welfare (maslahah), accountability, and risk mitigation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of pension fund programs at Bank Muamalat Indonesia and Taspen through a Maqashid Sharia lens, by examining governance structures, investment mechanisms, and the alignment of programs with welfare objectives and system sustainability. This qualitative case study relies on secondary data, including corporate profiles, portfolios, participant statistics, and financial reports of Taspen and DPLK Syariah Muamalat. The findings indicate that Taspen’s defined benefit, pay-as-you-go scheme provides benefit certainty for civil servants and their heirs, thereby fulfilling individual-level maslahah (hifz al-nafs, hifz al-nasl). However, from a macro-Maqashid perspective, it imposes a heavy fiscal burden on the state budget, undermines hifz al-mal at the state level, and exposes the state to governance and investment risks. Conversely, DPLK Syariah Muamalat program, grounded in sharia principles, supervised by a Sharia Supervisory Board, and operated under a defined contribution scheme with selectable investment packages, is more closely aligned with Maqashid Sharia (hifz al-din, al-mal, al-nafs, al-nasl, al-‘aql), although its outreach remains limited. The study recommends gradual reform toward a fully funded model based on business-to-business partnerships and sharia-compliant investment instruments as an alternative pension design that is more equitable, sustainable, and consistent with Maqashid Sharia.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the implementation of diversion in juvenile crimes based on Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System (SPPA Law). The study method uses a normative legal method through a case study of legal behavior products. The novelty of this research lies in its in-depth analysis of the authority of judges in determining diversion for criminal acts with a maximum penalty of more than 7 years. Although normatively excluded by the UU SPPA, this is interpreted progressively using a restorative justice approach and the principle of the best interests of the child. The results of the research examine the discretion of judges in applying the principle of restorative justice in serious criminal cases that, according to the standard rules, are not eligible for diversion. Through a normative approach and empirical case studies, this research provides new insights and recommendations for reformulating more humane legal policies. The aim is to make the justice system more responsive to the protection of children's rights in accordance with national legal standards. Conclusion This study found that diversion under the SPPA is limited to criminal offenses carrying a sentence of less than seven years. However, Supreme Court Regulation (Perma) No. 4 of 2014 expands this scope, particularly in the case of mixed charges. This regulatory discrepancy creates a dilemma for judges in determining the appropriate legal reference. This inconsistency has an impact on legal uncertainty, where similar cases can receive different diversion treatments. Therefore, harmonization between the Supreme Court regulation and the SPPA Law is urgently needed to ensure equal justice for children.
