Abstract

This research investigates the impact of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education on student interest and technology integration in Indonesian secondary schools through a quantitative analysis. A sample of 250 students was surveyed, and data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results reveal significant relationships between STEAM education, student interest, and technology integration. The measurement model demonstrates robust reliability and validity, while discriminant validity is supported. The structural model indicates that STEAM education positively influences both student interest and technology integration, with student interest mediating the relationship between STEAM education and technology. The study provides practical implications for educational practices, emphasizing the importance of transdisciplinary collaboration and effective teaching strategies to enhance student interest and foster technology integration in secondary education.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of science teaching methods and digital literacy on the development of science literacy among junior high school students in Indonesia. A quantitative analysis employing structural equation modeling (SEM-PLS) was conducted on a sample of 150 students. Descriptive statistics revealed moderate science literacy levels, preferences for hands-on experiments, and a high proficiency in digital literacy. SEM-PLS results demonstrated significant positive relationships between science teaching methods, digital literacy, and science literacy. The bootstrapping analysis confirmed these relationships, emphasizing the importance of both factors in shaping science literacy outcomes. The model exhibited a strong fit, and coefficients indicated substantial explanatory and predictive power for Developing Science Literacy. These findings contribute to the understanding of effective educational strategies for science literacy in the Indonesian context.

Abstract

This bibliometric analysis delves into the literature on hybrid and distance learning within the digital age, examining its evolution, trends, and impact. Through systematic retrieval and analysis of scholarly outputs from 1980 to 2024, key bibliometric metrics, network visualizations, and citation analyses were conducted. The findings reveal a significant transition from traditional to technical research themes over time, reflecting broader societal shifts towards data-driven decision-making. Highly cited works underscore the enduring relevance of foundational concepts and the timely exploration of emergent topics, particularly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, future study directions identified through network visualization offer promising avenues for advancing research agendas in education. This analysis provides valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and researchers, informing evidence-based decision-making and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations in educational innovation.

Abstract

This qualitative research delves into the effectiveness of incorporating Tafsir (interpretation and explanation of the Quranic text) into Islamic Religious Education (IRE) classes to enhance character education among junior high school students in Central Java. Through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, the study investigates students' perceptions, teachers' experiences, challenges, and opportunities associated with Tafsir integration. Findings reveal positive attitudes among students towards Tafsir-based education, highlighting its relevance to personal and social life, enhancement of moral awareness, and promotion of critical thinking. Teachers recognize the benefits of Tafsir in deepening students' understanding of Islamic teachings but face challenges such as limited instructional time and pedagogical constraints. However, opportunities for collaboration, curriculum enhancement, and community engagement emerge, suggesting pathways for optimizing the effectiveness of Tafsir-based education. Overall, the research contributes insights into the potential of Tafsir integration in fostering character education and ethical development among junior high school students in Central Java.
