Abstract

Penggunaan feed aditif pakan dalam budidaya broiler bertujuan untuk meningkatkan bobot badan akhir atau panen yang lebih tinggi dan menghasilkan karkas yang berkualitas. Salah satu yang dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif aditif pakan, yaitu susu bubuk afkir berbahan dasar kedelei. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat potensi susu bubuk afkir terhadap bobot akhir dan kualitas karkas broiler. Desain penelitian yang digunakan, yaitu rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dengan 5 ulangan. Setiap ulangan berisi 2 ekor broiler. Perlakuan yang diberikan meliputi ransum basal tanpa ditambahkan susu bubuk afkir (P1), ransum basal ditambahkan 2,5% susu bubuk afkir (P2), ransum basal ditambahkan susu bubuk afkir 5% (P3) dan rasum basal ditambahkan susu bubuk afkir 7% (P4). Hasil sidik ragam menunjukkan perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot badan akhir, bobot karkas, persentase karkas, persentase daging tanpa tulang (boneless), persentase tulang, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap rasio daging dan tulang. Pemberian susuk bubuk afkir berbahan dasar kedelei cenderung meningkatkan bobot akhir, bobot karkas, persentase karkas. Penggunaan susuk bubuk afkir berbahan dasar kedelei sebagai aditif pakan dapat ditambahkan kedalam ransum broiler sebanyak 5%. Abstract

This study aims to determine the processing method and level of giving flour moringa leaves which are good for performance and quantitative characteristics of linus native chickens. This study used linus chickens aged 15 days as many as 54 tails. This study used Ccmpletely randomized designompletely Randomized Design (CRD) with a 3×3×3 factorial pattern where 3 treatments were factor I (processing method) and 3 treatments were factor II (administration level) using 3 replications. Factor I consists of M1 steam processing method, M2 fermentation processing method, M3 withering processing method, in factor II consists of P1 level of administration ofthoe  2%, P2 level of administration ofthoe  4%, P3 level of administration ofthoe  6%. The parameters observed in this study were ration consumption, body weight gain, ration conversion, drinking water consumption, shank length (legs), wing length and body length. The results showed that each treatment had no significant effect (P0,05) on the performance and quantitative characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the type of oil and storage time can affect the physical and protein quality of layer eggs and whether there is an interaction between these two factors. This study used 36 Lohmann brown chicken eggs. The research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a 2x3x3 factorial pattern where 2 treatments were factor A (type of oil) and 3 treatments were factor B (storage time) using 3 repetitions. Factor A consists of M1 (Coconut Oil) and M2 (Olive Oil) while factor B consists of P1 (storage 7 days), P2 (storage 14 days) and P3 (storage 21 days). Parameters observed in this study were egg weight loss, air cavity, egg white index, egg yolk index, shell thickness and egg protein quality. The results showed that there was no interaction between the two factors on all research parameters.

Abstract

Herbal ingredients are derived from various types of herbs that are processed naturally and are believed to be able to increase the metabolic process of chickens. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of liquid herbal on the percentage of the carcass of native chickens. The livestock used in this study were 60 superior native chickens from Balitbangtan. Completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments consisted of T0 (control), T1 (liquid herbal 3 ml/liter of water), T2 (vitachickÒ 0.5 gram/liter of water) and T3 (liquid herbal 3 ml + vitachickÒ 0.5 gram/liter of water).  The data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA analysis, if the results showed significant results (P<0.05), then continued with the smallest significant difference (LSD) test to determine the difference in the mean value between treatments. The results showed that the administration of herbal medicine as an additive to chicken feed, the addition of herbal herbs and vitamins had a significant effect (P<0.05) on carcass weight and carcass percentage, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the final weight of native chickens. The highest average carcass percentage was at T1 61,15±1,90%, then T2 60,10±2,60%, T3 59,93±4,13%, dan T0 55,59±1,02%.  Giving liquid herbal to P1 was able to increase the carcass percentage which was better than other treatments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the response of final body weight and growth of broiler chest muscle given fermented and unfermented palm kernel cake as raw material for substitution of rice bran in broiler rations. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications filled with 2 chickens each. The treatments consisted of P0 (control), P1 (10% palm kernel cake), P2 (10% fermented palm kernel cake), P3 (15% fermented palm kernel cake), and P4 (20% palm kernel cake). The results showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the final weight or slaughter weight and the percentage of boneless breast meat, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the percentage of breast bone and the ratio of bone meat. The addition of palm kernel cake up to 15% can increase the boneless broiler breast meat, although it tends to reduce the final weight of the broiler. So that the substitution of rice bran with fermented palm kernel cake can be replaced by up to 15%. Keywords: Palm kernel cake, Boneless, Boneless broiler meat, Meat and bone ratio

Abstract

This study aimed to determine broilers' final body weight and carcass quality given herbs Temulawak (Curcuma zanthorrhiza) flour and Kencur (Kaempferia galangal) flour and zinc mineral. The research design was completely randomized with five treatments and four replications, each containing three broilers aged one day. The treatments (P) given included P1 (basal ration), P2 (basal ration + 2.5% Temulawak flour + 120 ppm mineral zinc), P3 (basal ration + 0.4% Kencur flour + 120 ppm mineral inc), P4 (basal ration + 2.5% Temulawak flour + 0.4% Kencur flour), and P5 (basal ration + 2.5% Temulawak flour + 0.4% Kencur flour + 120 ppm mineral zinc). The analysis of variance showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on final body weight, carcass weight, percentage, and carcass. But no significant effect (P>0.05), boneless percentage, bone percentage, meat and bone ratio, and abdominal fat. The combination of Kencur and zinc in the ration (P3) showed the best results in improving final body weight and carcass quality, including carcass weight. The provision of Temulawak flour and Kencur flour and the addition of zinc minerals to the feed did not negatively affect carcass quality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan kombinasi ekstrak belimbing wuluh dan getah pepaya sebagai bahan pengempuk daging dada ayam petelur afkir dan pada konsentrasi mana yang lebih baik digunakan. Metode penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan dengan berat sampel 64 g daging dada ayam petelur afkir, yaitu P0: kontrol, P1: 100% getah pepaya, P2: 100% belimbing wuluh, P3: 40% getah pepaya + 60% belimbing wuluh, P4: 50% getah pepaya + 50% belimbing wuluh, P5: 60% getah pepaya + 40% belimbing wuluh. Data diolah menggunakan analysis of variance (ANOVA) dan uji lanjut beda nyata terkecil (BNT). Berdasarkan hasil analisis ragam penggunaan kombinasi ekstrak belimbing wuluh dan getah pepaya terhadap kualitas fisik daging dada ayam petelur afkir berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0, 01) terhadap pH daging, susut masak daging, daya putus daging dan tidak berpengaruh sangat nyata (P>0, 01) pada daya ikat air daging. Penggunaan kombinasi ekstrak sebanyak 50% belimbing wuluh + 50% getah pepaya telah memberikan hasil yang maksimal dalam memperbaiki kualitas daging dada ayam petelur afkir.

Abstract

Kerusakan perkerasan jalan sebelum tercapainya umur rencana antara lain disebabkan karena kualitas bahan pengisi (filler) perkerasan jalan yang tidak memenuhi ketentuan. Alternative lain yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas aspal sebagai bahan perkerasan jalan adalah menggunakan aspal yang dimodifikasi dengan penambahan abu kulit kakao. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik aspal murni setelah di lakukan pengujian sifat fisik aspal dan mengetahui pengaruh campuran aspal dan abu kulit kakao setelah dilakukan pengujian sifat fisik aspal. Kadar abu kulit kakao yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu 1-5 %. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen dengan melakukan pengujian sifat fisik aspal menggunakan alat penetrometer, piknometer, oven kehilangan berat, hotplate titik lembek dan mesin daktilitas. Hasil penelitian didapatkan pengujian sifat fisik aspal yang maksimal untuk campuran abu kulit kakao yang seseuai standar aspal pen 60-70 ialah dengan campuran 1% dan 2% dengan nilai penetrasi aspal pada K2= 61,1 mm, K3= 60,03 mm. Hasil uji titik lembek aspal K2= 49,5°C, K3= 51,0°C. Hasil uji daktilitas aspal K2= 142 cm, K3= 144 cm. Hasil uji berat jenis aspal K2= 1,042 gr/ml, K3= 1,076 gr/ml. Hasil uji kehilangan berat aspal K2= 0,4128%, K3= 0,0183%. Dari hasil penelitian yang didapatkan, abu kulit kakao berpengaruh terhadap karakteristik aspal yaitu stabilitas, fleksibilitas dan ketahanan terhadap kelelahan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa campuran aspal dengan abu kulit kakao memenuhi Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) yang berlaku.

Abstract

Moringa leaf flour is incorporated to commercial feed in order to improve the microbiological quality of chicken meat. The chicken was fed with formulated feeds prepared using different methods (steaming, fermentation, withering) and various doses. Microbiological test included total plate count (TPC), lactic acid bacteria (LAB), pH of meat was also checked. The experiment was arranged using completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Abstract

This experiment shows performance chickens of Kedu, Arab, and Poncin with Giffen different protein content.  This experiment uses chickens of Kedu, Arab, and Poncin (a crossbreed of male Arab and female Kedu) that each breed consists of 40 Day Old Chicken. Each species was randomly placed in 8 units of experiment cage, and every experiment cage consists of 5 Day Old Chicken.  Treatment dietary is used 15% (R1) dan 18% (R2).  The experiment's design is used a completely random design 2x3 factorial, that i two treatments of dietary and three breeds of chickens. Every treatment is replayed four times, and the show used 24 units of experiment cage.  The parameter is limited watch on dietary Consumption, body weight gain, and feed conversion. The result showed that Poncin chickens gave better growth performance when compared to Arab and Kedu chickens. Simultaneously, the ration protein content of 18 % resulted in better growth performance compared to 15% ration protein.
