Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the effect of giving Enterococcus sp. bacteria at Escherichia coli of excreta broiler. The research design used was a completely randomized design consisting of four treatments, three replications, and each replication had four broilers. The treatment given consisted of T1 (0 mL/L), T2 (1 mL/L), T3 (3 mL/L), and T4 (5 mL/L) control treatments. The number of colonies of Enterococcus sp. given through drinking water every day, namely 107 CFU / mL. The results of the study respectively showed the number of Escherichia coli in the treatment of T1 (Log 7.54 CFU/g), T2 (Log 7.53 CFU/g), T3 (Log 7.48 CFU/g), and T4 (Log 6.78 CFU/g). The colony total of Escherichia coli of broiler excreta decreases with increasing doses of Enterococcus sp. It is shown that Enterococcus sp. has an antimicrobial compound activity which can inhibit pathogen growth in broiler digestive tract so that it has the potential to be developed as a probiotic

Abstract

Salted eggs are livestock products that have undergone a salting process to extend shelf life, add flavor, and increase consumer tastes. The fat content in duck eggs is very high, reaching 35-34%, concentrated in egg yolks. It could be dangerous if consumed in excess; therefore, a study was conducted to determine the fat content of salted duck eggs with the addition of sweet orange juice (Citrus). sinesis L). This study used sweet orange juice (Citrus sinesis L) with different concentrations of 0% (control), 80% (P1), 90% (P2), 100% (P3), and 100% commercial Vitamin C. (Vicee) (P4). The research used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and four replications. Each replication consisted of 2 eggs. Parameters observed were sensory quality (yolk color, Aroma, Taste, grit) and fat content of salted duck eggs. The results showed that the addition of sweet orange juice (Citrus sinesis L) on sensory quality (yolk color, aroma, taste, grit) had no significant effect (P0.05). Meanwhile, the fat content in egg yolk had a significant effect (P0.05).

Abstract

Physical characteristics or physical properties of meat include pH, cooking loss, and texture, while organoleptic qualities include color, taste, texture, and aroma. These factors will simultaneously determine the quality of meat in livestock. This study aims to determine the effect of giving a combination of herbs, mineral zinc, expired milk powder, and vitamin C on the physical quality of broiler meat. This research was conducted at the Samata Integrated Farming System (SIFS), Jalan Veteran Bakung, Samata Village, Gowa Regency. Physical quality testing of meat was carried out at the Laboratory of Animal Products Technology, Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar. The research design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications, each replication consisting of 2 broilers with treatment P0= commercial feed (Control), P1 = commercial feed + 1% herbs, P2= commercial feed + 2% herbs and P3= commercial feed + 3% herbs. Meat sampling was carried out on day 35 for analysis of physical quality including pH value, cooking loss, and meat tenderness. Data analysis used analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan's test. The results showed that the addition of a combination of mixed herbs to broiler feed had a significant effect (P0.05) on pH but had no significant effect (P0.05) on cooking loss and meat tenderness. Duncan’s test results showed that the pH value with P0 treatment was significantly different (P0.05) with P1, P2, and P3. All the treatments with different percentages of the herbal mix did not show significant differentiation between them.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the response of final body weight and growth of broiler chest muscle given fermented and unfermented palm kernel cake as raw material for substitution of rice bran in broiler rations. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications filled with 2 chickens each. The treatments consisted of P0 (control), P1 (10% palm kernel cake), P2 (10% fermented palm kernel cake), P3 (15% fermented palm kernel cake), and P4 (20% palm kernel cake). The results showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the final weight or slaughter weight and the percentage of boneless breast meat, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the percentage of breast bone and the ratio of bone meat. The addition of palm kernel cake up to 15% can increase the boneless broiler breast meat, although it tends to reduce the final weight of the broiler. So that the substitution of rice bran with fermented palm kernel cake can be replaced by up to 15%. Keywords: Palm kernel cake, Boneless, Boneless broiler meat, Meat and bone ratio

Abstract

Political ethics that are lacking in both government and society often create an environment where Corruption, Collusion, and Nepotism (CCN) can thrive unchecked. These CCN practices not only cause economic harm but also threaten social and political justice within the community. Injustice in wealth distribution and opportunity is another frequent consequence of this lack of political ethics. Furthermore, the Pancasila ideology, as the foundation of the Indonesian state, is often obscured in everyday political practice. This obscuration can hinder the democratization process and the achievement of social justice envisioned by the nation's founders. Nurcholish Madjid, an Indonesian Muslim intellectual, offers a pertinent perspective on improving political ethics. According to Madjid, good political ethics should be based on the principle of equitable justice for all citizens and promote inclusive and participatory democracy. Madjid also emphasizes the importance of transparency in the political process, where the public has broad access to information and government decisions. Referring to Madjid's thoughts, efforts to enhance political ethics in Indonesia can be achieved by emphasizing values of justice, democracy, and transparency. This not only reduces CCN practices and injustice but also creates greater space for the recognition and implementation of Pancasila values in Indonesian political and social life as a whole. Nurcholish's political thoughts, if applied in national life, especially in the current context, are highly relevant because Indonesia still needs a better and more just political system and order. It is time for Indonesia to reform and reshape not only a more democratic and socially just political framework but also to realize political ethics as described above, which tend to be neglected.
