Abstract

Conservation education is essential for early childhood as it instills environmental care values from an early age, builds nature-responsible character, and creates environmentally conscious generations. This research aims to foster environmental care attitudes among early childhood education students. The study employed a qualitative descriptive method involving ten students and one classroom teacher. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results revealed that teachers' conservation education efforts at PAUD Al-Fatah Temboro were implemented through various methods: direct practical activities, Islamic storytelling, habituation, and role modeling. Besides involving school community members, teachers also collaborated with parents to achieve optimal learning objectives. Routine programs such as classroom cleaning duties, Clean Friday activities, and plant care proved effective in nurturing environmental awareness among early childhood students.

Abstract

Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) image segmentation is still an interesting concern of researchers. Various new deep learning-based methods have been proposed to handle this image segmentation problem. Some research problems that are still faced by many researchers are dataset problems that are considered limited and need further clinical trials. The challenges of data problems include heterogeneity and image quality variations in the shape of skin lesions and subjectivity when annotating. The evaluation results from previous studies also show a considerable difference where there are still low accuracy results, but also too high accuracy is still found so that it is considered to have the potential for overfitting. As a result of the review of various related studies, there is an interesting potential of applying fuzzy logic to the U-Net architecture. This architecture has become very popular because it is widely used in medical image segmentation. The application of fuzzy logic can be applied to the U-Net architecture such as encoder, decoder, skip connection to adjust various U-Net parameters.

Abstract

The increase in ornamental fish farming in Indonesia has increased significantly during the 2017-2019 period. This improvement process is certainly faced with various challenges such as disease, which is caused by ectoparasites, one of which is Myxobolus sp. This parasite can infect the skin and gills of fish, causing significant financial losses. This study aims to determine the prevalence and intensity of Myxobolus sp parasites in freshwater ornamental fish at the Surabaya I Fish Quarantine Center for Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products (BKIPM), which was conducted on June 19 - August 18, 2023. The tools and materials used include fish samples, distilled water, 70% alcohol, giemsa dye, swallow and tissue, tray, binocular microscope, computer, dissecting set, object glass, cover glass, dropper pipette, ruler, gloves, beaker glass, workbook, method, and stationery. Native and staining methods were used to examine parasites, while prevalence and intensity were calculated using Kabata's (1985) formula. The results showed that comet fish and koi fish were infected with Myxobolus sp in their gills. The intensity of Myxobolus sp infection in koi fish was classified as severe, while in comet fish it was classified as very severe. The prevalence of Myxobolus sp parasites found in koi fish was 2.32% and in comet fish was 4.20%, both categorized as moderate infection.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to investigate the implementation of character education based on local wisdom at SMA Negeri 1 Teladan Yogyakarta and assess its impact on students' character development and academic performance in the context of contemporary challenges in the digital era. Design/methods– Utilizing a qualitative research methodology, the study focuses on an in-depth exploration of character education at SMA Negeri 1 Teladan Yogyakarta. Data collection methods include interviews, observation, and documentation, with a particular emphasis on how local wisdom is integrated into character education. Comparative analysis of the findings with existing literature on character education was conducted to assess the program's effectiveness. Findings – The study reveals a robust character education program at SMA Negeri 1 Teladan Yogyakarta, which includes character habituation during class, outside class, and in collaboration with parents and the community. The program positively influences students' enthusiasm for learning, collaboration, responsibility, and discipline, subsequently improving their academic performance. However, challenges such as student diversity and varying levels of character internalization were identified. Research implications/limitations – The research provides insights into the integration of local wisdom in character education, contributing to the discourse on character education in the digital era. Limitations include the focus on a single institution, which may affect the generalizability of the findings. Practical implications – The study offers a model for integrating character education based on local wisdom in educational institutions, highlighting the importance of a comprehensive approach that includes academic, extracurricular, and community aspects. Originality/value – This study contributes original insights into the field of character education by highlighting the integration of local wisdom at SMA Negeri 1 Teladan Yogyakarta. It presents a unique perspective on addressing contemporary challenges in education, particularly in the digital era, through a well-rounded character education program.

Abstract

The Golden Indonesia Vision 2045 places education as the main pillar in creating superior human resources. School Participation Rate (APS) data is an important indicator to evaluate student access and participation in education. This study utilizes the K-Means Clustering method to analyze APS big data to identify patterns of education participation in Indonesia. The results of the analysis show significant participation clusters based on demographic, socio-economic, and geographical factors, and reveal gaps and potential for education improvement in various regions. In this study, RapidMiner is used as an analysis tool to process and visualize APS data. The results of clustering show a striking difference between areas with good access to education and areas with poor access to education. Factors such as income levels, educational infrastructure, and geographical location were found to have a major impact on student participation rates. Strategic recommendations include increasing access to education in disadvantaged areas through equitable distribution of education facilities, infrastructure development, and flexible data-based policies. In addition, scholarship programs in vulnerable areas are also proposed as a solution. This research supports strategic efforts towards the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 by providing a strong foundation for policies that focus on the sustainability of national education.

Abstract

Social interaction is one of the skills of human life with others. In inclusive learning, social interaction can be found in the project-based learning (PjBL) learning model. This article aims to 1) describe the social interactions of students with special needs in inclusive schools, 2) describe the role of the project-based learning (PJBL) learning model in creating learning interactions of students with special needs in inclusive schools. This type of research is qualitative research with interview and observation data collection techniques. The results of the study obtained 1) social interactions that occur in inclusive elementary schools still require special attention, and need adjustment and foster a culture of mutual respect in schools, 2) project-based learning provides a role in creating social interactions of regular and special needs students where they help each other in project work. Students with special needs who previously rarely interacted are encouraged to join their friends.

Abstract

The citation system and compilation of the bibliography are two very important elements in the assessment used in journal accreditation. Journal managers, both national and international, enforce the use of Mendeley Reference Manager tools in preparing articles written by an author. Based on observations made, most students still use manual citations and a few also understand the use of Mendeley Desktop and do not understand the transition from the Mendeley Desktop application to the Mendeley Reference Manager. This service method is carried out with lectures, discussions and mentoring with several stages, namely the observation stage, the planning stage, the implementation stage, the mentoring stage and hold evaluation. The results of this service based on the pre-test conducted on training participants prior to the implementation of the training showed that most of the participants did not know and understand the operation of the Mendeley Reference Manager which is the latest version of the Mendeley application. The results of the post-training post test conducted on the participants showed a significant change after the Mendeley Reference Manager training.

Abstract

Pregnancy involves various physiological changes including physical changes, changes in the digestive system, respiratory system, urinary tract system, musculoskeletal and circulatory systems, causing discomfort. One of the discomforts that often occurs is back pain. Back pain in pregnant women significantly has a negative impact on daily activities and well-being during pregnancy. This community service aims to provide education to pregnant women about the benefits of yoga namaskar and how to do it correctly. By providing this knowledge and skills, it is hoped that pregnant women can apply the techniques learned and applied in everyday life so that problems of discomfort such as back pain in pregnant women can be handled. The results of this Community Service are that there is an effect of doing yoga surya namaskar for back pain in pregnant women. With this community service activity, it is hoped that pregnant women can routinely do this Yoga Surya Namaskar at home.   Abstrak Kehamilan melibatkan berbagai perubahan fisiologis antara lain perubahan fisik, perubahan sistem pencernaan, sistem respirasi, sistem traktus urinarius, muskuloskeletal dan sirkulasi sehingga menimbulkan ketdiaknyamanan. Salah satu ketidaknyamanan yang sering timbul adalah nyeri punggung. Nyeri punggung pada wanita hamil secara signifikan memberikan dampak yang buruk terhadap kegiatan sehari-hari dan kesejahteraan selama hamil. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada ibu hamil tentang manfaat yoga namaskar dan bagaimana cara melakukannya dengan benar. Diharapkan ibu hamil dapat menerapkan teknik-teknik yang dipelajari dan diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sehingga masalah ketidaknyamanan seperti nyeri punggung pada ibu hamil bisa tertangani. Hasil Pengabdian Masyarakat ini bahwa ada pengaruh dari melakukan yoga surya namaskar untuk nyeri punggung ibu hamil. Adanya kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan ibu hamil dapat rutin melakukan Yoga Surya Namaskar ini di rumah.

Abstract

Salinity is an important parameter because it affects the environment, such as water quality, growth, and development of aquatic vegetation and various animal species. Conventional water quality monitoring is still ineffective, so it is necessary to utilize technology in monitoring water quality, including water Salinity is an important parameter because it affects the environment, such as water quality, growth, and development of aquatic vegetation and various animal species. Conventional water quality monitoring is still ineffective, so it is necessary to utilize technology in monitoring water quality, including water salinity. Utilization of remote sensing is often used to study salinity both on a small scale and a global scale. Therefore, the author conducted a study to predict salinity in the Bangka Strait using the RRS (Remote Sensing Reflectance) method. The data used are Landsat 9 OLI image data downloaded from the USGS website and in situ salinity data in the Bangka Strait sea. The Landsat 9 OLI image data used is level 2 Surface Reflectance (SR), which is ready for analysis without additional processing by the user. The data obtained were processed using multiple linear regression analysis with Rrs as the independent variable and in situ salinity as the dependent variable. Salinity prediction models are divided into three groups based on the image recording date, namely Rrs 1 for the Landsat 9 OLI image recording on May 9, 2024, Rrs 2 for July 28, 2024, and Rrs 3 for the image recording on September 28, 2023. Multiple linear regression analysis produces R² values for each model of 0.81662874, 0.8170285, and 0.8136894. These R² results indicate that the three models, Rrs 1, Rrs 2, and Rrs 3, are included in the very good criteria in predicting salinity. To choose the best of the three models, by considering the results of the validity test. The NMAE validity test for Rrs 1, Rrs 2, and Rrs 3 is 10.10152, 10.37618, and 8.88680. Meanwhile, the RMSE values are 2.41327, 2.41064, and 2.43253. Therefore, it can be determined that the Rrs 2 model is the best in predicting salinity because it has the highest R² value, namely 0.8170285, and the smallest RMSE, namely 2.41064.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Karya Cinta Tak Ada Mati karya Eka Kurniawan merupakan contoh prosa fiksi yang kaya simbolisme dan menyampaikan makna tentang cinta, kematian, dan ingatan abadi dalam balutan estetika sastra. Pemahaman terhadap simbol-simbol ini penting untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai sosial, budaya, dan moral yang terkandung di dalamnya. Tujuan : Tujuan dari riset ini adalah menggali makna simbolik yang terkandung dalam karya fiksi berjudul Cinta Tak Ada Mati karangan Eka Kurniawan melalui kacamata semiotika. Metode : Menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini menyoroti beragam simbol yang digunakan oleh Eka Kurniawan, misalnya mayat hidup, makam, warna suram, dan perempuan yang hidup kembali, yang bertujuan untuk menyampaikan pesan tentang nilai sosial, budaya, dan kritik terhadap sistem patriarki. Hasil dan Pembahasan : Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa simbol-simbol dalam cerita bukan hanya mempertegas pesan moral tentang cinta, kesetiaan, dan perjuangan, tetapi juga menghadirkan suasana magis, gelap, dan surealis yang menjadi ciri khas karya Eka Kurniawan. Simbolisme dalam cerita ini membantu pembaca untuk memaknai cinta tidak semata-mata sebagai hal romantis, tetapi juga sebagai kekuatan spiritual dan sosial yang dapat menimbulkan kesengsaraan jika diabaikan. Kesimpulan : Riset ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman pembaca tentang karya sastra dalam menangkap makna yang lebih mendalam dalam prosa fiksi Indonesia, serta memajukan kemampuan berpikir kritis melalui analisis simbolik.
