Abstract

Hypertension is a silent killer with the highest death rate for cardiovascular disease in the world. Hypertension has affect to human life quality. This study aims to determine the analysis of the quality of life of hypertensive patients using complementary therapies acupuncture in the working area of Harapan Raya Health Center, Bukit Raya District, Kelurahan Tangkerang Selatan, Pekanbaru. This research uses descriptive design. This study was conducted at 88 respondents using a cluster sampling technique. The measuring instrument used is the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire which is a questionnaire to measure quality of life that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used is univariate analysis to see frequency distribution. The results showed that the quality of life using acupunture was good (59,1%). This study recommends to the community especially those who have family members to pay more attention to healthy lifestyles to avoid further complications of hypertension. Abstract

Hot flashes are the hot complaint on the face, arms, neck, upper body, and chest area, as well as sweats that are common in menopausal women. This study aimed to determine the effect of laughing therapy on hot flashes in menopausal women. This research used "Quasi Experimental Design" with "Non-Equivalent Control Group design". This research was conducted at Labuh Baru Timur Subdistrict, Payung Sekaki Sub District, Pekanbaru on 34 people with 17 people as experiment group and 17 people as control group with a non probability sampling technique that purposive sampling. Measuring instrument used questionnaire hot flashes score. Laughing therapy was given experimental group 2 times for 10-15 minutes. The analysis used univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution and bivariate used alternative test of Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney. The results showed significant differences in hot flashes score after the laughing therapy between the experimental group and the control group with p value = 0.001 < α (0.05). It could be concluded that laughing therapy was effective on decreaseed hot flashes score in menopausal women. The results of this study are expected to be one of the nursing interventions to reduce the score of hot flashes in menopausal women.Keywords: Hot Flashes, Laughing Therapy, Menopausal

Abstract

During pregnancy, the mother will experience both physical and psychological changes, one of the psychic changesexperienced by pregnant women in the form of sleep disorders. Fulfilling the needs of sleep in pregnant women is animportant thing to be able to maintain the condition of pregnant women in the optimal state during pregnancy. One waythat can be done to overcome sleep disorders in pregnant women is to do yoga. This study aims to determine theeffectiveness of yoga on sleep quality of pregnant women. This research uses Quasy experiment design with nonequivalentcontrol group design divided into experiment and control group. This research was conducted in KualuVillage Working area of Puskesmas Tambang with total sample 34 respondents taken by purposive sampling technique.The measuring tool used in the two groups is the PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) questionnaire. The dataanalysis used dependent T test and independent T test. The results of this study indicate effective yoga on maternal sleepquality with p value (0.000) <alpha (0,05). The results of this study can be used as a reference to use yoga as analternative in overcoming complaints of sleep quality disorders in pregnant women.Keyword: Pregnantwomen, sleep quality, yoga.

Abstract

During pregnant the mother will experience psychological changes and physical changes, one of pshysical changes experienced is a sleep disorder, so that pregnant women will be difficult to meet and needs and the quality of sleep becomes worse sleep quality is very important for pregnant women, if the quality of the sleep is distrubed will affect to the mother and fetus. This study aims to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on the sleep quality of primigravidian pregnant women. The research design used was quasi experimental with a non equivalent control group. The sample of this study was 34 respondents with the sampling technique using purposive sample and divided into 2 groups namely the experimental and control groups. The measuring instrument used was the PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) questionnaire. The results of the statistical test performed were obtained by the median sleep quality score after progressive muscle relaxation in the experimental group is 5,00 and the control group is 7,00. While the Mann Whitney test result obtained p value (0,000) <α (0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of progressive muscle relaxation on the sleep quality of primigravidian pregnant women. Abstract

An important cause of breastfeeding failure is perceptions among mothers that they were not producing enough breast milk to meet the nutritional needs of infants, which affected on oxytocin release. It can be solved by doing Woolwich massage as pleasant forms of touch, gently stimulating the nipple can leads to oxytocin secretion. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of Woolwich message against breast milk production at working area of Payung Sekaki Health Center. Using quasi-experimental study designs with pre-post test intervention, a number of 34 normal postpartum mothers were regarded as the control group. The measuring instruments used were Mabaki breast pump and observation sheets. Applying univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution of respondent characteristic. Meanwhile, bivariate analysis with t-dependent and t-independent test showed that there were differences in the breast milk production average between experiment group and control group. The outcomes were 80.92ml breast milk from experiment group (after given the treatment) and only 66.82ml breast milk from control group with p value = 0.000 <α (0.05). This investigation indicated that Woolwich massages effectively increase breast milk production during postpartum phase. Mothers are advised to utilize Woolwich massages as one of the methods to intensify breast milk production.Keywords : Breastmilk Production, Woolwich Massage, Postpartum

Abstract

Menopause is natural process that occurs in everry woman. One of the signs of physical symptoms during menopause is hot flashes. Hot flashes is a feeling of heat, burning that occurs in the face, neck, chest, and even throught the body, which is accompanied by sweat, heart palpitations varying time span for each menopausal woman. Design research sed is descriptive quantitative research. The sample are 97 respondents taken based on the inclusion criteria using purposivve sampling technique. Measuring devices used are the questionare of respondents characteristic, questtionare of level knowledge and questionare experience. The analysis used the univariate analysis to know the distribution of respondents characteristic, level of knowledge and experience. The results of study showed the most respondents ages are 50-54 years old as much 52 people (53,6%), 93 people (95,9%) had islam religion, 49 people (50,5%) had minang tribe, 46 people (47,4%) were middle education (senior high school), 71 people (73,2%) respondents not work, 77 people (79,4%) married, 67 people (69,1%) respondents had first menstruation at the age 10-14 years old, and had the last menstrual period at the age 50-54 years as much 48 people (49,5%). For 97 respondents there were has level of enough knowledge 38 people (39,2%), good knowledge 33 people (34,0%), and 26 people (26,8%) has less knowledge. While for experience as much 95 people (97,9%) has good experience and 2 people (2,1%) has bad experience. Suggested to menopausal woman to find level of knowledge and experience hot flashes. Abstract

Premarital sex behavior can cause a variety of negative effects on teenagers as unwanted pregnancies and abortion. Lack of knowledge can affect teenagers knowledge about the effect and prevent premarital sex. Another factors that can affect adolescents knowledge is health education. This study aims to determine the knowledge of young women through the REDI game method (Wheel of Education and Inspiration) to prevent premarital sex in the Labuh Baru Barat Payung Sekaki Pekanbaru District. This research used quasy experiment design with the non-equivalent control group. The sample of this research was 34 respondents taken based on the inclusion criteria using purposive sampling technique, divided into experimental group and control group. The score of knowledge was measured by using a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis using Wilcoxon test, dependent t-test, and Mann Whitney test. The results showed a significant increase in teenagers knowledge about premarital sex prevention after being given health education through the REDI game method (Wheel of Education and Inspiration) with the p-value (0.000) < alpha (0,05). The results show that health education through the REDI game method (Wheel of Education and Inspiration) is effective to increase teenagers knowledge for premarital sex prevention. The result of this study can be an alternative for nursing intervention to increase adolescents knowledge to premarital sex prevention.  Keywords: Health education, knowledge, premarital sex, redi game method, teenagers

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is an excessive pain during menstruation caused by uncoordinated uterinecontrauctions. There were some pain managements for dysmenorrhea, one of them was autogenicrelaxation. This study aims to determine the effectiveness autogenic relaxation against the intensityof dysmenorrhea. The research design used in this study was “pre- experiment” with “one grouppretest-postest” only. The sample in this research were the VII grade students of Junior HighSchool 3 Pekanbaru, the total sample were 17 experiment respondendents who taken by usingaccidental sampling techniques. The measuring instrument used was observation sheets. Theanalysis were univariate and bivariate analysis by using Wilcoxon tests. The result showedsignificant reduction of intensity dysmenorrhea on experimental group after the group has given therelaktation autogenic with p value (0,000) < ά (0,05). It means autogenic relaxation was effective toreduce the intensity of dysmenorrhea. The result of this study is expected to be an alternative tohandling the dysmenorrhea for young women.Keyword: Autogenic relaxation, dysmenorrhea, menstruation

Abstract

Nursing services has an important role in implementation of health services in hospitals and health centers. The success of services in Public Health Center is very dependent on performance and the role of nurses in implementing nursing services. Nurses in Public Health Center have six roles and functions, such as service provider, case inventor, as educator, coordinator and collaborator, advisor, as role model. Optimizing the role of nurses is needed wherein nurses must carry out their roles and functions. The aim of this research was to identify public perceptions regarding the implementation of the nurse role in Public Health Center in Pekanbaru. The design of this study was descriptive survey method. The sample of this study was 100 respondents taken from 5 health centers based on inclusion criteria. This study used cluster sampling techniques and univariate analysis to analyze data. The results showed that the community had a positive perception regarding several nurse role. About 71% of the community had positive perception abaut the role of the nurse as coordinator and about 69% had positive perception regarding the role of nurse as collaborator. In addition about 67% of the community had positive perception regarding the role of the nurse as an educator. It is expected that nurses can improve the implementation of the role of nurses and expand the role of nurses that have not been implemented properly. Abstract

Some people have a trend to follow other people's views about their behavior. The people’s views about this action will affect them to belief in early detection of cervical cancer using IVA test. The purpose of this research is to identify the subjective norm at women in Rejosari Public Health Center, Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research used a quantitative descriptive design. The research sample were 60 respondents who were taken based on the inclusion criteria using purposive sampling technique. Data collection using a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used is univariate analysis. The result of this research is there were 38 respondents who had low subjective norm (63.3%), 32 respondents had low subjective norm (36.7%). Overall, it can be concluded that the description of the subjective norm of women of childbearing age for early detection of cervical cancer using the IVA method is statistically high majorityKeywords: cervical cancer, IVA, subjective norm
