Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik pembelajaran STAD dan gaya belajar pada pemahaman membaca teks siswa kelas delapan di SMP 17 Agustus 1945 Cluring. Penelitian ini mencakup tiga variable, yaitu; teknik STAD sebagai variable bebas, gaya belajar sebagai variable moderator, dan pemahaman membaca sebagai variable terikat. Untuk melakukan penelitian ini, 60 siswa dilibatkan sebagai sampel. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain 2 x 2 faktorial. Data diperoleh melalui tes dan kuisioner lalu dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis ANAVA Dua Jalur dan tes Tukey, dengan hasil sebagai berikut: 1) terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara pemahaman membaca siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan teknik STAD dibandingkan dengan hasil pemahaman membeca siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan teknik konvensional; 2) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara pemahaman membaca siswa field dependent dan siswa field independent; 3) terdapat pengaruh interaksi yang signifikan antara teknik pembelajaran (STAD dan konvensional) dan gaya belajar (field dependent dan field independent) siswa terhadap pemahaman membaca; 4) terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada pemahaman membaca antar siswa yang field dependent yang diajar dengan menggunkan teknik STAD dan siswa yang field dependent yang diajar dengan menggunakan teknik konvensional; dan 5) terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada pemahaman membaca antar siswa yang field independent yang diajar dengan menggunkan teknik STAD dan siswa yang field independent yang diajar dengan menggunakan teknik konvensional.Kata Kunci : teknik STAD, gaya belajar, dan pemahaman bacaan. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of STAD technique and learning style the eight grade student’s reading comprehension of SMP 17 Agustus 1945 Cluring. This research involved three types of variables, namely; STAD technique as independent variable, learning style as moderator variable, and reading comprehension as dependent variable. To conduct this research, 60 students were selected as the sample. The design of this research was 2 x 2 factorial designs. The data were collected through test and questionnaire, and were then analyzed by using Statistical Two-Way ANAVA and Tukey test. The result of this study showed that: 1) there is a significant difference in reading comprehension between the students who are taught by using STAD technique and those taught by using the conventional technique; 2) there is a significant difference of reading comprehension between field dependent and field independent students; 3) there is a significant interactional effect between the teaching techniques (STAD and conventional) and students’ learning style (field dependent and field independent) on students’ reading comprehension; 4) there is a significant difference in reading comprehension between the students field dependent who are taught by using STAD technique and those who are taught by using the conventional technique; and 5) there is a significant difference in reading comprehension between the students field independent who are taught by using STAD technique and those who are taught by using the conventional technique. keyword : STAD technique, learning style, reading comprehension.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: a) perbedaan ketrampilan menulis antara mahasiswa yang diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dengan menulis jurnal dan mahasiswa yang diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dan berpasangan; b) efek interaksi yang terjadi antara strategi- strategi yang diterapkan dengan kecerdasan linguistik terhadap ketrampilan menulis mahasiswa; c) perbedaan ketrampilan menulis di antara mahasiswa yang memiliki kecerdasan linguistik tinggi yang diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dengan menulis jurnal dan dengan yang diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dengan berpasangan; dan d) perbedaan ketrampilan menulis mahasiswa yang memiliki kecerdasan linguistik rendah yang diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dengan menulis jurnal dan dengan yang diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dengan berpasangan. Penelitian ini mengggunakan rancangan penelitian post-test only group design dengan faktorial 2x2. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 236 mahasiswa semester dua di FKIP Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar pada tahun ajaran 2013/2014, yang mana 80 mahasiswa dipilih sebagai sampel penyampelan acak cluster. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner kecerdasan linguistik serta tes menulis dan kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan Anova dua jalur yang diikuti dengan tes Tukey. Adapun temuan-temuan penelitian ini yaitu pertama, mahasiswa yang diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dengan menulis jurnal memiliki ketrampilan menulis lebih baik daripada mahasiswa yang diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dan berpasangan; kedua, terdapat efek interaksi yang terjadi antara strategi yang diterapkan dengan kecerdasan linguistik terhadap ketrampilan menulis mahasiswa; ketiga, mahasiswa yang memiliki kecerdasan linguistik tinggi dan diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dengan menulis jurnal meraih ketrampilan menulis yang lebih baik daripada mahasiswa yang diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dengan berpasangan; dan keempat, mahasiswa yang memiliki kecerdasan linguistik rendah yang diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dengan berpasangan meraih ketampilan menulis yang lebih baik daripada mahasiswa yang diajar dengan teknik proses menulis dengan menulis jurnal. Penemuan ini dapat memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengajaran Bahasa Inggris secara umum atau pengajaran menulis secara khusus.Kata Kunci : Jurnal, Kecerdasan Linguistik, Proses Menulis This study aimed at: a) investigating the significant different effect in writing competency between the students who are taught using process writing embedded with journal writing and those who are taught using process writing embedded with pair work, b) investigating the significant interactional effect between the strategies applied and the students’ linguistic intelligence on their writing competency, c) investigating the significant different effect in writing competency between the students with high linguistic intelligence who are taught by using process writing embedded with journal writing and those who are taught by using process writing embedded with pair work, d) investigating the significant different effect in writing competency between the students with low linguistic intelligence who are taught by using process writing embedded with journal writing and those who are taught by using process writing embedded with pair work. The study employed posttest only with 2x2 factorial design. The results indicated that, first, the students who were treated by using process writing embedded journal writing achieved better in written test; second, there was a significant interactional effect between strategies applied and linguistic intelligence upon students’ writing competency; third, students with higher linguistic intelligence had higher writing competency scores when they were treated using process writing embedded with journal writing than when treated with process writing embedded with pair work; and fourth, students with low linguistic intelligence more in favor with process writing embedded with pair work as proven from their writing competency scores which were higher than those treated using process writing embedded with journal writing.keyword : Journal, Linguistic Intelligence, Process Writing

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: a) mengetahui perbedaan pada kesenjangan pelaksanaan penilaian otentik berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 dan praktek dalam kelas oleh guru di SMA N 1 Blahbatuh; b) mengetahui pemahaman guru terhadap pelaksanaan penilaian otentik berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah guru bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan model evaluasi kesenjangan oleh Provus. Data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar observasi; studi dokumen, wawancara dan kuesioner distribusi, dan observasi kelas yang di analisis menggunakan pedoman acuan ideal teoritis. Hasil dari analisis data menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki kesenjangan yang sangat tinggi dalam melaksanakan penilaian otentik. Secara rinci, kesenjangan paling lebar terdapat dalam penilaian portofolio dengan persentase 79.22%. Sedangkan kesenjangan terendah terdapat dalam penilaian kinerja dengan persentase 57.45%.Selain itu, hasil dari kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki pemahaman yang positif terhadap pelaksanaan penilaian autentik berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013. Kata Kunci : Kata kunci: penilaian otentik, kurikulum 2013, kesenjangan This study aimed at: a) investigating the discrepancy between the ideal authentic assessment implementation based on Curriculum 2013 and the practice in EFL classroom of SMAN 1 Blahbatuh; b) investigating the EFL teachers’ belief toward authentic assessment implementation based on Curriculum 2013. The subjects of this research were English teachers. The research design for this study was an evaluative study that adopted Provus Discrepancy Model. In this study, the forms of data collection used were: document study, interview and questionnaires distribution, and direct class observation which are analyzed by using Ideal Theoretical Reference. The study showed that the teachers have very wide discrepancy in implementing authentic assessment. In detail, the widest discrepancy in authentic assessment was Portfolio assessment with the percentile of 79.22%. In addition, the lowest discrepancy was Performance assessment with the percentile of 57.45%. Abstract

Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi (1) pengaruh dari Board Games terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa, (2), pengaruh dari Board Games terhadap penguasaan kosa kata siswa, (3) pengaruh simultan dari Board Games terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa dan penguasaan kosa kata siswa kelas enam di Desa Selat Kabupaten Klungkung. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 6 sekolah dasar di Desa Selat Kabupaten Klungkung dengan jumlah total siswa yaitu 80 orang. Dua kelas dipilih menggunakan teknik random sampling yang terdiri dari 50 siswa. Siswa SDN 2 Selat digunakan sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran Board Games. Sementara itu siswa SDN 4 Selat digunakan sebagai kelas control dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Data dikumpulkan dengan menguunakan kuisioner motivasi berprestasi dan vocabulary mastery tes. Data dianalisis menggunakan Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) yang dibantu dengan SPSS 17.00 for windows. Abstract

This research aimed at investigating whether or not there was a significant difference on writing competency of the tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Singaraja. This research was experimental research with Pre-test and Post-test Only Control Group Design and used cluster random sampling technique to determine the samples. There were two classes chosen as samples in this study. The two groups were given treatments to obtain the required data. The experimental group was taught by using Blended Learning Strategy and the control group was taught by using conventional technique. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The mean score of experimental group (81.10) was higher than the mean score of control group (78.83). Moreover, the result of inferential analysis showed that there was a significant difference on students’ writing competency between the students who were taught by using Blended Learning Strategy and those who were taught by conventional technique (Sig.(2-tailed) = 0.022, p < 0.05). The alternative hypothesis is accepted in which the students who are taught by using Blended Learning Strategy achieves better than those who are taught by using conventional technique.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan buku cerita bergambar berbasis budaya lokal dalam bentuk cerita rakyat pelajar muda. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang menerapkan pola pengembangan yang dikemukakan oleh Sugiyono (2014). Karakteristik dari pelajar muda dan kriteria buku cerita bergambar yang baik menjadi pertimbangan dalam mengembangkan produk. Data yang digunakan dikumpulkan melalui proses pengamatan, wawancara, dan tinjauan pustaka sebelum merancang produk. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) buku cerita bergambar yang berjudul Cupak dan Gerantang dan (2) kualitas dari produk penelitian ini dinilai sangat baik dengan nilai 4.63 (Sr ≥ 4.5 = sangat baik; skor total adalah lebih tinggi atau setara dengan 4.5) dan memiliki validasi isi yang sangat tinggi dengan nilai (cv=1.00). Dengan demikian, produk yang dikembangkan sesuai untuk pengajaran Bahasa Inggris sebagai materi tambahan dalam pengajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk pelajar muda.Kata Kunci : Budaya, Buku Cerita Bergambar, Cerita Rakyat Bali The purpose of this research was to develop a local culture-based picture storybook in the form of folktale for young learners. This research was a Research and Development (R&D) applying the model proposed by Sugiyono (2014). Both characteristics of young learners and criteria of good picture storybook were considered in designing the product. The data were collected by observation, interview, and literature review before designing the product. The results of research are: (1) picture storybook entitled Cupak and Gerantang and (2) the quality of the product which is judged excellent with the score 4.63 (Sr ≥ 4.5 = excellent; total score is more or equal as 4.5) and has very high content validity with the score (cv=1.00). Abstract

Kim’s board game adalah sebuah media pembelajaran yang mengandung esensi game berkaitan dengan kemampuan siswa dalam mengobservasi dan mengingat gambar – gambar pada media tersebut. Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi efek penggunaan Kim’s board game terhadap prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar di Sangsit, Kabupaten Buleleng, pada tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 . Desain penelitian ini adalah Post-Test Only Control Group Design yang menggunakan cluster random sampling technique dalam menentukan sampelnya. Berdasarkan hasil cluster random sampling, sampel yang diperoleh antara lain kelas 5 di SD N 8 Sangsit sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan Kim’s board game dan SD N 4 Sangsit sebagai kelompok kontrol yang diajarkan tanpa menggunakan Kim’s board game. Hasil post-test kedua kelompok dianalisis tidak hanya menggunakan descriptive statistics analysis tetapi juga inferential statistics analysis. Dari hasil analisis data, ditemukan bahwa siswa yang diberikan perlakuan menggunakan Kim’s board game memperlihatkan prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan yang diajarkan tanpa menggunakan Kim’s board game. Hal tersebut terbukti dari nilai rata – rata siswa pada kelompok eksperimen (80.05) lebih tinggi dari nilai rata – rata siswa di kelompok kontrol (72.76). Selain itu, hasil dari inferential statistical analysis menunjukkan tobs lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan tcv dengan level α=0.05, di mana tobs= 4.603, sedangkan tcv= 1.999624. Jadi, hipotesis nol ditolak dan perbedaan dari kedua kelompok adalah signifikan. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Kim’s board game memberikan efek yang signifikan pada prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris kelas 5 SD di Sangsit. Kim’s Board game bisa diaplikasikan oleh guru untuk mengajar pelajar anak – anak sebagai salah satu media yang efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa.Kata Kunci : Prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris, Kim’s board game, Young learner Kim’s board game is one of teaching media in the form of game that is deals with learners’ observation and recollection ability which includes pictures on its board. This experimental study attempted to investigate the effect of Kim’s board game towards students’ English learning achievement of the fifth grade students in Sangsit, Buleleng Regency in Academic Year 2015/2016. The design of this study was Post-Test Only Control Group Design utilizing cluster random sampling technique to determine the samples. Based on the result of cluster random sampling, the fifth grade students in SD N 8 Sangsit was determined as the experimental group and treated by using Kim’s board game while the fifth grade students of SD N 4 Sangsit was determined as the control group and treated without using Kim’s board game. The result of post-test was analyzed by using both descriptive and inferential statistics analysis. From the data analysis, it was found that students who were treated by using Kim’s board game performed better in terms of English learning achievement than those who were treated without using Kim’s Board game. The mean score of the experimental group (80.05) is higher than the mean score of the control group (72.76). Moreover, the result of the inferential statistical analysis shows that tobs is higher than tcv at significant level of α=0.05, in which tobs is 4.603 while tcv is 1.999624. Thus, the null hypothesis of this study is rejected and the difference of the two groups is significant. In conclusion, Kim’s board game gives significant effect on the fifth grade students’ English learning achievement in Sangsit. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan Kim's board game terhadap prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas 4 SD di Sangsit, Kabupaten Buleleng, tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas 4 SD di Sangsit, Kabupaten Buleleng tahun pelajaran 2015/2016, di mana terdapat sembilan kelas dari delapan sekolah dasar yang terdiri dari 203 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan model post-test only control group design dan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling untuk menentukan sampel. SDN 8 Sangsit, melalui lotre ditetapkan sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan diajarkan menggunakan Kim?s board game, sedangkan SDN 4 Sangsit, melalui lotre ditetapkan sebagai kelompok kontrol dan diajarkan tanpa menggunakan media Kim?s board game. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa siswa di kelompok eksperimen memperoleh prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa di kelompok kontrol. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh oleh siswa dari kedua kelompok: kelompok eksperimen yaitu 80, sedangkan kelompok kontrol yaitu 74. Hasil dari uji t juga membuktikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan Kim?s board game terhadap prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa, di mana nilai t yang diperoleh yaitu 3,293, lebih besar dibandingkan nilai t pada tabel yaitu 2,008559 (? = 0,05). Dengan demikian, dapat dikatakan bahwa belajar Bahasa Inggris menggunakan media Kim?s board game memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas 4 SD di Sangsit, Kabupaten Buleleng, tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Kata Kunci : prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris, Kim?s board game, media pengajaran Abstract This research aimed at finding the effect of using Kim?s board game toward the fourth grade students? English learning achievement of elementary school in Sangsit, Buleleng Regency in academic year 2015/2016. The population of this research was all the fourth grade students in nine classes from eight schools in Sangsit, Buleleng, Bali, consisted of 203 students. The design of this research was post-test only control group design and used cluster random sampling technique to determine the sample. SDN 8 Sangsit was determined by lottery as the experimental group and treated by using Kim?s board game, while SDN 4 Sangsit was determined by lottery as the control group and treated without using Kim?s board game. The result of data analysis showed that the experimental group students achieved a higher English learning achievement than the control group. It was proven by the mean score obtained by both groups: the experimental group was 80 while the control group was 74. The result of t-test also proved that there was a significant effect of using Kim?s board game toward the students? English learning achievement, in which the tobs was 3.293. It was higher than the tcv at 2.008559 (? = 0.05). Thus, it can be stated that learning English by using Kim?s board game gives a significant effect toward the fourth grade students? Abstract

This study aimed at : a) investigating the significant effect in writing competency the between students who were treated by using scientific approach combined with CIRC technique and those who were treated by using scientific approach combined with conventional strategy viewed from text types, b) students who were treated by using scientific approach combined with CIRC technique and those who were treated by using scientific approach combined with conventional strategy across descriptive paragraph, c) students who were treated by using scientific approach combined with CIRC technique and those who were treated by using scientific approach combined with conventional strategy across narrative paragraph. This study was an experimental study recruiting 353 students as the sample of the research. Post-test only control group design was applied as the research design. Post test was administered to discover the impact of the treatment. The data obtained from the post test were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistic analysis. Through the descriptive analysis, it was found that the mean score of the group were who were taught by using scientific approach combined with CIRC technique was higher than those who were taught by using scientific approach combined with conventional strategy viewed from text types. It means that the students who were treated by using scientific approach combined with CIRC technique is better than those who were treated by using scientific approach combined with conventional strategy viewed from text types, students who were treated by using scientific approach combined with CIRC technique is better than those who were treated by using scientific approach combined with conventional strategy across descriptive , students who were treated by using scientific approach combined with CIRC technique is not better than those who were treated by using scientific approach combined with conventional strategy narrative paragraph. These findings provide empirical evidence of the importance to determine teaching strategies taught in reading classes. Kata Kunci : Writing Competency, Scientific Approach, CIRC Technique, Text Types Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari pengaruh signifikan diantara a) siswa pemahaman membaca siswa yang diajar dengan pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan teknik CIRC dan siswa yang diajar dengan pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan strategi konvensional dilihat dari jenis teks; b) siswa yang diajar dengan pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan teknik CIRC dan siswa yang diajar dengan pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan strategi konvensional di teks descriptive c) siswa yang diajar dengan pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan teknik CIRC dan siswa yang diajar dengan pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan strategi konvensional di teks narrative. Sampel penelitian berjumblah 353 siswa kelas 8 SMP Harapan Nusantara pada tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Post-Test Only Control group diaplikasikan sebagai desain penelitian. Setelah sesi perlakuan, post test diberikan untuk mengetahui pengaruh data yang diperoleh melalui post-test dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferential. Secara deskriptif diketahui bahwa, siswa yang mengikuti pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan teknik CIRC lebih tinggi skornya daripada siswa yang diajar dengan pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan strategi konvensional dilihat dari pemahaman membaca pada jenis teks; kedua siswa yang mengikuti pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan teknik CIRC lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajar dengan pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan strategi konvensional di teks deskripsi; ketiga siswa yang mengikuti pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan teknik CIRC tidak lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajar dengan pengajaran pendekatan ilmiah kombinasi dengan strategi konvensional di teks narrative. Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate (1) whether there is a difference in the reading comprehension between students who are taught by using CIRC strategy and those taught by using the conventional strategy; (2) an interactional effect between the reading strategyi applied and achievement motivation toward students? reading comprehension; (3) a difference in reading comprehension between students with high achievement motivation who are taught by using CIRC strategy and those taught by using the conventional strategy; and (4) a difference in reading comprehension between students with low achievement motivation who are taught by using CIRC strategy and those taught by using the conventional strategy. The study administrated a 2X2 factorial design, which 175 students were involved as the sample. The data were collected by using qquestionnaire and a reading test then analyzed by Two-way ANOVA.
