Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus continue to pose significant health challenges, particularly among the elderly. Poor dietary habits and lack of physical activity are major risk factors often overlooked. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge of elderly individuals regarding the prevention of hypertension and diabetes through healthy eating patterns and light physical activity. The activity was conducted on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, in Gampong Blangkula, under the jurisdiction of Pidie Health Center. The intervention was delivered through direct verbal and interactive. Pre-tests and post-tests were administered to evaluate the changes in knowledge levels. The results showed a significant increase in the average score from 4.00 (pre-test) to 8.44 (post-test), with an average improvement of 4.44 points. These findings indicate that a simple, communicative approach can effectively enhance elderly individuals’ understanding of NCD prevention. Direct verbal education, delivered in an interactive and participatory manner, was found to be appropriate and impactful. This highlights the importance of routine, contextual nutrition education for the elderly to help them better understand, remember, and adopt healthy lifestyle practices in their daily lives.

Abstract

In the initial survey, it was discovered that most of the fishermen from Kembang Tanjong sub-district and Simpang Tiga sub-district were traditional fishermen and used very little personal protective equipment, which made it possible for dermatitis to occur in fishermen. They stated that using personal protective equipment such as gloves, shoes and head coverings could hinder movement. When they work, personal hygiene is also given less attention due to the habit of fishermen spending the night in the middle of the sea when fishing, so fishermen do not prioritize their personal hygiene. The purpose of this study is to determine the analysis of risk factors for the incidence of dermatitis in fishermen on the coast of Kembang Tanjong District and Simpang Tiga District, Pidie Regency. This type of research is descriptive analytic using a cross sectional design. The population and sample in this study were all research subjects and objects studied, namely 298 fishermen. Data analysis in this study was univariate, bivariate and multivariate. The results of the study showed that there were five variables that had a relationship with the incidence of dermatitis in fishermen, namely personal hygiene (P-value 0.000), knowledge (P-value 0.000), use of PPE (P-value 0.000), education (p-value 0.007) and history of allergies (P-value 0.000) and for variables that do not have a significant relationship, namely the role of health workers (p-value 0.760) and length of service (pvalue 0.60. Conclusion: It is hoped that the results of this research can be used as input to improve health promotion by providing education to fishermen and other communities about dermatitis in the Kembang Tanjong and Simpang Tiga sub-districts in order to raise awareness among fishermen and other communities to make efforts to prevent dermatitis such as personal hygiene and use of PPE while working.

Abstract

The transformation of the health sector consists of six pillars, one of which is the transformation of health technology. The electronic medical record is the collection, storage, processing, and access of patient medical record data in hospitals using information technology. The Minister of Health, in Regulation of the Minister of Health number 24 of 2022, requires all health service facilities to maintain electronic medical records. In this study, research was conducted on the process of collecting, storing, processing, and accessing medical data at the ERM in a hospital using a personal computer and an Android tablet. This research uses a qualitative case study method that investigates phenomena in real-life contexts and is examined in a case that is carried out intensively, in depth, in detail, and comprehensively. The independent variable is the process of collecting, storing, processing, and accessing medical record data, and the dependent variable is electronic medical records. Data was collected by observing the patient's medical record recording process and interviewing informants consisting of registrars, doctors, nurses, laboratory staff, hospital IT personnel, and hospital administration; triangulation was then carried out on the data obtained. The results of the study found that the process of collecting medical record data on personal computer media was different from that on Android tablet media, from the method of writing to the results of recording medical records. However, the flow from recording to storage, access, processing, and security of medical record data is not much different In the implementation of electronic medical records, there are advantages and disadvantages to each medium, but it would be better if a combination of the two was carried out. In order to create continuity in the process of recording medical records in electronic media.

Abstract

Midwives are healthcare workers who make the first physical contact with newborns during delivery. They bear significant responsibilities in preventing COVID-19, which can contribute to increased anxiety levels. Many factors are associated with healthcare workers' anxiety, yet studies specifically focusing on predictors of anxiety among midwives remain limited. This analytical study utilized a cross-sectional approach to identify predictors of anxiety among midwives during the COVID-19 pandemic in Nagan Raya District. The study involved a sample of 533 midwives, with data collected via Google Forms. Multivariate analysis was conducted using multiple logistic regression tests with a 95% confidence level. The study found that 43 midwives (81.24%) experienced anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Factors significantly associated with anxiety included age ≥32 years (p-value = 0.006; OR = 1.86; 95% CI: 1.20–2.89), workload (p-value = 0.000; OR = 2.43; 95% CI: 1.53–3.84), independent midwifery practice (p-value = 0.044; OR = 4.44; 95% CI: 1.04–18.95), and acting as the primary birth attendant (p-value = 0.032; OR = 1.61; 95% CI: 1.04–2.49). The most dominant factor associated with anxiety was high workload (p-value = 0.000; OR = 2.35; 95% CI: 1.46–3.79). Midwives with high workloads were 2.35 times more likely to experience anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic compared to those with lower workloads. It is recommended that midwives reduce their workloads and manage their tasks by creating structured work plans. Additionally, midwives should improve their managerial skills to distribute workloads effectively among team members.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is the second leading cause of death among women in Indonesia. This health issue is actually preventable through HPV vaccination, which can be administered to 5th-grade elementary school children. Several factors influence parents' decisions not to allow their children to receive the first dose of the HPV vaccine. The aim of this study was to analyze the determinants associated with the first dose of HPV vaccination among elementary school children. This study employed a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 281 mothers of 5th-grade elementary school children. Data were collected at elementary schools in Sigli City by distributing questionnaires from December 20–28, 2023. Abstract

Generation Z today cannot go a day without gadgets. Over time, Generation Alpha is likely to become similarly preoccupied with gadgets, as they have been influenced by technology since birth and view it as an essential tool for both school and other activities. Excessive gadget use negatively impacts the quantity and quality of sleep. This study employed a cross-sectional design to analyze the relationship between gadget addiction, sleep quality, and academic performance among adolescents in the coastal and mountainous areas of Pidie Regency. The sample consisted of 337 students from Kembang Tanjong High School and 159 students from Tangse High School, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test and linear regression. The results showed no significant differences in the average sleep quality and gadget addiction levels between adolescents in coastal and mountainous regions. However, there was a significant difference in the average academic performance between these two groups. Factors associated with sleep quality included age, male gender, mothers’ lower education level, gadget addiction, and anxiety. Meanwhile, factors influencing academic performance were male gender, gadget addiction, social media motives, ease of gadget access, depression, and anxiety. Adolescents are encouraged to reduce gadget usage, as it adversely affects sleep quality and academic performance. They can replace gadget usage with positive activities such as physical exercise, playing sports, socializing with peers, studying together, and other productive activities.

Abstract

Telemedicine services can be a diversion of most offline or classic consultations into online consultations through telemedicine services. The use of telemedicine continues, especially through telemedicine services provided by the Ministry of Health for patients who need it, such as about prevention of certain diseases, or patients who have experienced symptoms of certain diseases can consult through telemedicine services. This observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design uses a quantitative approach aimed at analyzing factors related to the level of satisfaction of telemedicine service users in Aceh Province. Data collection used a googleform questionnaire that was distributed using social media for 2 weeks. The sample in the study was the population of Aceh who met the inclusion criteria totaling 468 people. Sampling used the accidental sampling technique. Data analysis used a logistic regression test. factors related to the use of telemedicine application services in Aceh Province are the use of the JKN mobile application (OR=1.61; 95%CI=1.06-2.54; p-value=0.025), income < Minimum Wage (OR=1.64; 95%CI=1.13-2.37; p-value=0.008), and 4G/LTE internet network (OR=1.69; 95%CI=1.01-2.84; p-value=0.046). The most dominant factor related to the use of telemedicine is non-BPJS Kesehatan insurance users (AOR=2.42; 95%CI=0.53 – 11.05). It is expected that respondents should use the telemedicine application counseling facility provided for control and encouragement in supporting and assisting efforts to recover quickly and prevent disease. Abstract

COVID-19 is a global pandemic that threatens everyone's health. The increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to occur, including in Aceh Besar Regency. Public health intervention efforts have proven effective in reducing the incidence of COVID-19 and community leaders can be involved in these public health intervention efforts. Public health interventions are expected to cause changes in health behavior, but these behavioral changes require health beliefs. This study is a qualitative study with an exploratory approach to determine the beliefs of community leaders towards COVID-19. The number of informants in this study was 8 community leaders who were selected by purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out by conducting in-depth interviews. Data analysis in this study was carried out before entering the field, while in the field and after finishing in the field. The results of the interviews showed that the health beliefs of community leaders towards COVID-19 were influenced by the sources of information obtained, beliefs about COVID-19, the attitudes of community leaders towards people around them who were infected with COVID-19 and knowledge about the dangerous impacts of COVID-19. Good knowledge will increase the trust of community leaders and improve the attitudes of community leaders to participate in the COVID-19 vaccination which is one of the preventions of COVID-19. Community leaders are also involved in helping health workers provide information about efforts to prevent and handle COVID-19. It is hoped that community leaders will play an active role in efforts to prevent and handle COVID-19 by increasing knowledge and attitudes about COVID-19 which can be obtained through online and print information media.
