Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of history education in the formation of student identity at SMA Negeri 2 Medan. Using a qualitative approach with case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that history education at SMA Negeri 2 Medan has an important role in shaping students' identities, especially in instilling national and cultural values. History teachers use varied and contextual learning methods, such as discussions, debates, and interactive learning resources, which have proven to be effective in increasing student participation and understanding. However, the study also found challenges such as limited learning time and students' lack of interest in history. Nevertheless, history education still has a positive impact in strengthening students' identities as Indonesia citizens with integrity and a strong sense of nationality. Research recommendations include innovation of learning methods, increased time allocation, and provision of adequate learning resources to optimize the role of history education in the formation of students' identity.

Abstract

This study evaluates the application of competency-based history learning at SMA Negeri 2 Medan to assess its effectiveness, challenges, and impact on students. The research method used is a mixed approach that includes quantitative data from competency tests and questionnaires as well as qualitative data from interviews and observations. The test results showed variations in the achievement of students' competencies, with the highest achievement in understanding historical concepts and the lowest in analytical ability. The questionnaire revealed that most students and teachers consider competency- based methods to increase student engagement, despite obstacles such as difficulty connecting materials to daily life and technological limitations. Observations in the classroom highlight the effectiveness of methods such as group discussions and projects, but also point to the need for improved teacher training and technological facilities. The study concludes that while competency-based history learning has the potential to improve students' learning experience, existing challenges need to be addressed through additional training for teachers, technological improvements, and the preparation of more structured materials. Parent involvement and community support were also identified as important factors in the success of this learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengthening of history learning at SMA Negeri 2 Medan in building students' character and national insight. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, documentation studies, and questionnaires. The results of the study show that the application of interactive learning methods such as problem-based learning and project-based learning, as well as the use of digital technology in history learning, is able to increase students' understanding of history materials. In addition, history teaching at this school is effective in instilling character values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and love for the homeland. Curriculum that integrates local history and extracurricular activities, such as museum visits and nationality seminars, also contributes to broadening students' national horizons. However, the study also found several challenges, including a lack of student interest in history lessons and limited access to technology. Support from teachers, parents, and the community is very important in overcoming these obstacles. Overall, the strengthening of history learning at SMA Negeri 2 Medan has a positive impact on shaping students' character and increasing their national insight.

Abstract

Measuring employee performance through a balanced scorecard is crucial for providing a comprehensive view of an organization's effectiveness and strategic alignment. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is considered an instrument that can be used to effectively measure employee performance over a specific period of time. Performance appraisal not only helps companies determine the potential for human resource development but also improves employee motivation and productivity. Therefore, this study aims to empirically test and analyze employee performance measurement based on the balanced scorecard at the PHD Makassar Store. This study is a quantitative study. The population used is all employees of the PHD Makassar Store, with a sample size of 33 using the non-probability sampling method. The results of the study indicate that job satisfaction and employee turnover variables do not affect human resource performance at the PHD Bawakareng Store. Inversely, employee training and employee productivity variables affect human resource performance. This indicates that the comparison between employee input and output is running well.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the urgency and implementation of cognitive theory in the learning process of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at UPT SD Negeri 358 Gresik. Cognitive theory emphasizes mental processes in which students actively construct knowledge through interaction with their environment and personal experiences. A qualitative research approach was applied, using interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings indicate that the application of cognitive theory in this school is realized through several instructional strategies, including the setting of clear learning goals, the use of positive reinforcement, repeated practice, the development of metacognitive skills, and the structured organization of learning materials. These approaches have been effective in enhancing students’ motivation, active participation, and conceptual understanding of PAI content. However, several challenges were identified, such as low student motivation, limited learning facilities, and insufficient instructional time. Therefore, institutional support, teacher training, and innovative teaching strategies are essential to ensure the optimal application of cognitive theory. The study highlights the significance of adopting a cognitive approach to create meaningful, contextual, and character-oriented PAI learning experiences.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a public health issue with negative impacts on adolescents, particularly in terms of reproductive health, education, and social well-being. Preventing early marriage requires effective educational strategies tailored to the characteristics of adolescents. This study aims to analyze the effect of peer group education on increasing adolescents' knowledge about early marriage. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group approach was used, conducted in Borongloe Subdistrict, Bontomarannu District, Gowa Regency. The sample consisted of 100 adolescents aged 15–18 years, divided equally into intervention and control groups, with 50 participants each. The intervention was carried out through peer group discussions facilitated by trained peer educators, covering materials on reproductive health and the impacts of early marriage. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge in the intervention group compared to the control group. These findings indicate that peer group education is an effective and inclusive method that can enhance adolescents' understanding of the risks of early marriage. Peer group education is recommended as an intervention strategy in child marriage prevention programs, especially in areas with strong social norms.
