Abstract

This study uses the Taguchi method to optimize the quality factor (Q-factor) of microring resonators (MRRs) for sensor applications. The MRRs are compact optical components widely used in biosensors and environmental monitoring due to their sensitivity to refractive index changes. The Q-factor, a key performance metric for MRRs, is significantly influenced by structural parameters such as ring radius (R), gap (g), waveguide width (W), and waveguide height (h). We employed a finite difference time domain (FDTD) simulation to model light propagation within the MRR and compute the corresponding Q-factor to identify the optimal combination of these parameters. An L9 orthogonal array (OA) is used in the Taguchi method to analyze each factor's influence with three levels systematically. The optimization resulted in a Q-factor of 6208.44, significantly higher than the baseline value, indicating a substantial improvement. Compared to previous works, this research highlights the advantages of combining FDTD-based electromagnetic modeling with statistical optimization, offering a structured yet efficient approach to MRR design. The proposed method enhances Q-factor performance and provides scalability for practical applications in biomedical and environmental sensing. These findings underscore the utility of Taguchi-based design in advancing the field of photonic sensor optimization.

Abstract

Understanding nature of science (NOS) is part of developing scientific literacy skills. There are seven aspects of NOS that are included; tentative, subjectivity, empirical, creative and imaginative, sociocultural, diverse research methods and relationship between scientific theory & law. The purpose of this research is to gain the concept maps and teaching-learning sequences (TLS) from the views of scientists regarding to understanding of NOS on rare earth elements (REE) through Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) approach. The qualitative content analysis method was chosen in this study throughout the literature analysis based on books sources, review articles and research articles. The instrument avail of in this study was a content analysis format, which was portray descriptively to construct the understanding NOS of prospective chemistry teacher students. The outcome of the analysis are compiled in the form of concept maps and TLS with triangulation between researchers as a guarantee of validity. The results of the concept map and TLS that have been compiled show the relationship between the seven aspects of NOS which are integrated into REE learning materials. REE is known have unique properties based on the electron configuration but is increasingly difficult to find in nature, thus encouraging creativity to create renewable energy that can be recycled from electronic waste. The outcomes of this REE and NOS concept map and TLS are expected to be used to develop the design of REE teaching materials and didactic designs that are oriented ESD.

Abstract

Student Worksheet (LKPD) is a learning tool that has a role in activating students in the learning process. This training aims to introduce technology that can support practicum as an optimization of the implementation of Physics practicum activities by utilizing the Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite application. The methods used in this activity include socialization, lectures, and discussions. Participants in this activity were Physics teachers totaling 46 people. This activity was conducted in three meetings. Participants received an introduction to the various features of the Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite application at the first meeting. Expert lecturers guided the trainees in the application of the tool in the second meeting. After receiving guidance, the trainees were directed to make the LKPD which would then be presented at the third meeting. This training produced six LKPDs with six different Physics materials. The results of the LKPD assessment by experts showed a very positive view of the quality of the LKPD. LKPD generated in this training is considered to have fulfilled all indicators of Science Process Skills (KPS). Through this activity, it can be concluded that the KPS-based LKPD assisted by the Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite application can be a practicum tool that facilitates the implementation of Physics practicum in schools that do not have or lack practicum tools. It is recommended that the use of laboratories and virtual laboratories can be conducted continuously to support Physics learning.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis 1) pengaruh laba bersih secara parsial terhadap harga saham, 2) pengaruh total arus kas secara parsial terhadap harga saham, dan 3) pengaruh laba bersih dan total arus kas secara simultan terhadap harga saham pada perusahaan yang terdaftar di Jakarta Islamic Index tahun 2017-2021. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode asosiatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan purposive sampling. Data yang diolah merupakan data laporan keuangan tahunan yang telah diaudit dari 9 perusahaan yaitu Adaro Energy Tbk, Aneka Tambang Tbk, XL Axiata Tbk, Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk, Vale Indonesia Tbk, Indofoof Sukses Makmur Tbk, Kalbe Farma Tbk, Bukit Asam Tbk, dan Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi analisis regresi data panel, uji t, uji F dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa 1) laba bersih berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan secara parsial terhadap harga saham, 2) total arus kas berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan secara parsial terhadap harga saham, dan 3) laba bersih dan total arus kas secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap harga saham.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out the development and understanding of the role of science learning on students' motivation in moral education using a bibliometric study on the Google Scholar database with the help of VOS viewer. From 2019 to 2023, 953 articles were found from Google Scholar, and 795 were selected, which were related to content, based on data collection results using the keywords "science learning", "student motivation", and "moral education". The results of data searches for the last five years show that from 2019 to 2023, the number of publications has decreased. Three types of visualizations in the data mapping analysis were added: network visualization, overlay visualization, and density visualization, to support the analysis of related articles. It is hoped that the results of this study will help researchers identify developments and understanding of international research related to the keywords proposed.

Abstract

This study aims to demonstrate how a course design approach based on explorative research involving systems thinking can be implemented by recovering Rare Earth Elements (REEs) using Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES). The method used in this research is Design-Based Research (DBR). The instruments used were questions regarding the measurement of leaching samples from results/characterization, short questions about concept maps, and student response questionnaires. Data from measurements of leaching samples was measured using a Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR), data about concept maps was measured by the number of component and process concepts in the context of electronic waste recycling that students were able to identify, and student response data was measured using a Likert scale. Based on the research results, recovery of REEs can be done using DES. It can be shown by a shift in the peak vibration of 497.65 cm-1 from the sample before leaching to a vibration of 449.43 cm-1 after leaching. In addition, this study yields new insights into the perceptions of future pre-service chemistry teachers regarding the possibility of new types of DES in the context of chemistry learning. According to pre-service chemistry teachers, recovering REEs from electronic waste and applying DES are interesting as a new context for laboratory learning. Context-based design of research activities can enhance system thinking and interest in chemistry. The results of study showed increased student’s systems thinking abilities, as shown by the component and process concepts that emerged from the pre-test by 652 concepts while the post-test increased by 1208 concepts.

Abstract

Jaminan pensiun merupakan bentuk perlindungan dalam mempertahankan derajat setiap peserta yang telah memasuki usia pensiun. Diberikan kepada peserta yang telah melakukan konfirmasi data dan mencapai minimal masa iuran pensiun dengan klaim manfaat secara berkala setiap 3 bulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis prosedur pembayaran klaim jaminan pensiun berkala berdasarkan perspektif akuntansi syariah serta menganalisis implikasi dari keadilan dan kemaslahatan dalam jaminan pensiun berkala berbasis syariah. Pendekatan penelitian berupa kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode analisis data sekunder melalui observasi, studi literatur, telaah dokumen, dan wawancara dengan staf terkait. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa prosedur pembayaran klaim telah mencerminkan nilai-nilai keadilan serta kemaslahatan dalam bentuk pemberian manfaat jangka panjang bagi keberlangsungan hidup peserta yang sudah tidak produktif. Dan, masih terdapat ruang dalam penerapan prinsip syariah secara menyeluruh, baik pada sistem pencatatan ataupun pelaporan pada BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Kantor Cabang Sumedang.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to find out what the potential of the Salman ITB Mosque is, to find out how the economic management of the people at the Salman ITB Mosque is, and to know the process of empowering the economy of the people at the Salman ITB Mosque. The type of research used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection in this study is by means of interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted online using Google Meeting and met directly with the mosque management and economic management institutions at the Salman Mosque ITB. The results of this study are the potential of the Salman Mosque ITB, namely in terms of facilities and resources that are qualified and professional. Salman Mosque has facilities such as building rentals, kiosks, libraries, cooperatives, canteens, parking lots, and Charity Houses. For the economic management of the people or employees at the Salman Mosque, it is managed by the United Salman Cooperative. This cooperative was established with the aim of helping the welfare of members where members of this cooperative come from employees within Salman's own environment. The empowerment process carried out by the Salman Cooperative is Formation, Training, and Independence. AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apa saja potensi yang dimiliki oleh Masjid Salman ITB, mengetahui bagaimana pengelolaan ekonomi umat di Masjid Salman ITB, dan mengetahui proses pemberdayaan ekonomi umat di Masjid Salman ITB. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan cara wawancara dan dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan secara online menggunakan Google Meeting dan bertemu secara langsung dengan pihak pengurus masjid dan lembaga pengelolaan ekonomi di Masjid Salman ITB. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah potensi yang dimiliki oleh Masjid Salman ITB yaitu dari segi fasilitas dan Sumber Daya yang dimiliki sudah berkualitas dan profesional. Masjid Salman mempunyai fasilitas seperti penyewaan gedung, kios, perpustakaan, koperasi, kantin, lahan parkir, dan Rumah Amal. Untuk pengelolaan ekonomi umat atau para karyawan di Masjid Salman dikelola oleh Koperasi Salman Bersatu. Koperasi ini didirikan dengan tujuan untuk membantu kesejahteraan anggota yang mana anggota Koperasi ini berasal dari karyawan yang ada dilingkungan Salman itu sendiri. Proses pemberdayaan yang dilakukan oleh Koperasi Salman yaitu Pembentukan, Pelatihan, dan Pemandirian.

their families at home. Globally, there is a growing governmental policy to engage caregivers, families, and communities in the healthcare delivery system. Family caregivers (FCG) have taken responsibility for the day-to-day care of their ill loved ones at home. A cancer diagnosis is a major event for the person diagnosed and also for his or her family and caregivers. The caregiving activity has a significant impact on FCG’s quality of life (QOL). This study aimed to analyze the best predictor of FCG’s QOL of female cancer patients in a community setting. Methods: This cross-sectional study involved five Public Health Centers (PHCs) among 63 PHCs in Surabaya (7.94%), Indonesia, which were selected by one-stage cluster random sampling. There were 60 FCGs of female cancer patients who participated in this study (n = 60). The Caregiver Quality of Life – Cancer (CQOLC) was a valid and reliable instrument that was used to collect the data. Linear regression and one-way ANOVA tests were used in data analysis (α < .05). Ethical clearance was issued. Results: Most respondents were middle-aged married men with sufficient educational background and still actively working with sufficient income. Their QOL was mostly at a moderate level (Mean ± SD = 62.57 ± 16.23). Burden (p < 0.000), disruptiveness (p = 0.001), and financial concern (p < 0.000) were significantly different between the low, moderate, and high FCG’s QOL. The best predictor of FCG’s QOL of female cancer patients in a community setting was disruptiveness (R2 = 0.622; p < 0.000) compared to burden (R2 = 0.531; p < 0.000) and financial concern (R2 = 0.184; p = 0.001), especially when other family members have not shown interest in caregiving (R2 = 0.539; p < 0.000). Conclusions: FCG’s QOL of female cancer patients in a community setting is at a moderate level. Disruptiveness, burden, and financial concern could predict FCG’s QOL significantly. The other family members’ disinterest in caregiving which belongs to the disruptiveness domain is the best predictor of FCG’s QOL of female cancer patients in a community setting, which accounted for 53.9% variance of QOL in this population.

Abstract

Instruments for measuring problem-solving skills in physics education have primarily been developed in the context of classical physics. In contrast, the astronomy context, based on real phenomena, has remained relatively limited. One phenomenon closely related but not widely utilized as an assessment context was night sky brightness as an indicator of light pollution. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the feasibility of problem-solving skill instruments in the context of night sky brightness as an indicator of light pollution, as well as to describe physics education problem-solving skills. This study employed a quantitative descriptive design involving 75 students in physics education. The instrument was designed in the form of a contextual problem, covering four problem-solving stages and was analyzed using the Rasch Model. The analysis results indicated that the instrument met the feasibility criteria for use as a measurement tool for problem-solving skills. The use of this instrument provided an overview of students’ abilities at each problem-solving stage, so that the assessment did not focus solely on the final score but also on students’ thinking processes. Thus, this study contributed to the development of an astronomy-based assessment instrument that could be used as a diagnostic tool for problem-solving skills in physics learning.
