Abstract

Studi tingkah laku makan ikan merupakan bagian yang paling penting untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan umpan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon dan pola tingkah laku makan ikan kerapu macan (Ephinephelus fuscoguttatus) dengan perbedaan komposisi kimia umpan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen laboratorium. E. fuscoguttatus yang digunakan memiliki panjang total rata-rata 200 mm. Umpan yang digunakan adalah udang krosok (Metapenaeus elegans) dan ikan rucah (Sardinella gibbosa). Data penelitian meliputi waktu respon dan pola tingkah laku makan E. fuscoguttatus terhadap umpan dengan lama perendaman 1, 7 dan 12 jam. Komposisi kimia masing-masing umpan dianalisis berdasarkan lama waktu perendaman. Data diuji dengan menggunakan analisis statistik t student (uji-t). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan waktu respon E. Fuscoguttatus terhadap umpan udang  krosok dan ikan rucah tidak berbeda nyata  (nilai t­­hitung 2,25). Respon makan E. fuscoguttatus dengan perbedaan waktu perendaman umpan udang krosok dan ikan rucah  selama 1 jam dan 7 jam berbeda sangat nyata (nilai t-hitung 3,85 dan 5,70). Lama waktu perendaman umpan 12 jam tidak berbeda nyata (nilai thitung 0,86). Semakin lama waktu perendaman umpan (hingga 12 jam) terjadi penurunan komposisi kimia sehingga berpengaruh pula terhadap menurunnya respon makan E. fuscoguttatus. Kata kunci: Komposisi kimia umpan, pola tingkah laku makan, ikan kerapu macan (Ephinephelus fuscoguttatus)    Fish behavior study is necessary to know the use of bait effectiveness. This research objective was to analyze response and feeding behavior of grouper (Ephinephelus fuscoguttatus) with difference of the bait chemical composition. The research was conducted by laboratory experimental method. The fish used was 200 mm total length in average. The baits used were shrimp (Metapenaeus elegans) and trash fish (Sardinella gibbosa). Data collection consist of response time and feeding behavior pattern of E. fuscoguttatus towards bait with soaking time of 1, 7, and 12 hours. Chemical composition of each baits  was analysis based on soaking time. Data was statistical analyzed using t- student test. The result showed that response time of E. fuscoguttatus to shrimp bait and fish was insignificantly difference (t-value was 2.25).  The feeding response of E. fuscoguttatus with soaking time difference of shrimp bait and trash fish during 1 and 7 hours was significantly difference (t-value was 3.85 and 5.70). The bait soaking time until 12 hours was insignificantly difference (t-value was 0.86). The longer bait soaking time (until 12 hours) would decrease the bait chemical composition that influenced to decrease feeding response of E. fuscoguttatus. Abstract

Informasi mengenai variabilitas spasial suhu dan klorofil-a permukaan laut memiliki peran penting sebagai sarana pendugaan daerah potensi ikan tuna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan menggambarkan variabilitas suhu dan klorofil-a permukaan laut baik secara spasial maupun temporal di daerah upwelling pada variasi kejadian El Nino Southern Oscilation (ENSO) dan Indian Oscillation Dipole Mode (IOD) di perairan Selatan Jawa hingga Timor. Variabilitas suhu dan klorofil-a permukaan laut dikaji berdasarkan data-data MODIS (Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spektroradiometer) bulanan Level 3 dari satelit Aqua dan Terra. Nilai suhu dan klorofil-a permukaan laut bervariasi menurut waktu (bulan), wilayah (provinsi) dan variasi antar tahunan iklim global (El Niño-IOD(-), El Niño-IOD(+), La Niña-IOD(-) dan  La Niña-IOD(+). Secara umum kisaran suhu permukaan laut (SPL)  di  daerah  upwelling  pada  variasi  ENSO  dan  IOD  berkisar 26,18 -28,35°C  dengan  rerata 27,04±0,93°C. Kisaran klorofil-a sebesar 0,3-0,95 mg/M³ dengan rerata 0,69±0,28mg/M³. Mulai bulan Juni umumnya nilai suhu permukaan laut (SPL) semakin turun dan klorofil-a semakin meningkat hingga mencapai puncak bulan Agustus atau September, kemudian berangsur normal kembali. Nilai suhu permukaan laut terendah  ditemukan berkembang dari timur (Bali) pada bulan Juni bergerak ke barat hingga Jawa Barat di bulan Oktober. Nilai klorofil-a tinggi berkembang sesuai dengan perkembangan suhu terendah, namun nilai klorofil-a tertinggi umumnya bergerak tidak sesuai dengan perkembangan SPL terendah. Klorofil-a tertinggi umumnya terjadi di perairan selatan Provinsi Bali. Jauh dekatnya pergerakan SPL terendah dan klorofil-a tinggi tampak dipengaruhi nilai IOD-nya, semakin besar nilai IOD maka semakin jauh gerakannya ke barat.Kata Kunci : Variabilitas, suhu, klorofil-a, upwelling, perairan selatan Jawa The information of spatial variabilities of sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a are important for predicting potential fishing ground of tuna. The aims of the reseach are to describe and study the spatial and temporal variabilities of sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a at  upwelling area  during the variabilities of El Nino Southern Oscilation (ENSO) and Indian Oscillation Dipole Mode (IOD) event  at southern waters of Jawa until Timor Island. They were studied based on monthly MODIS (Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spektroradiometer) data  Level 3 from Aqua and Terra satelite. The values of sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a are variable in the times (month), areas (province) and annually global climate (El Niño-IOD(-), El Niño-IOD(+), La Niña-IOD(-) dan  La Niña-IOD(+). Commonly range of the seawater surface temperature (SST) at upwelling area on the variabilities of ENSO and IOD are about 26.18-28.35°C with average 27.04±0,93°C, whereas average of chlorophyll-a are about 0.3-0.95 mg/m³ with average 0.69±0,28mg/M³. From June, sea surface temperature starts to decrease but clhorophyl-a is increasing and back to  normal after reaching peak in August or September. The lowest sea surface temperature was found developing from east (Bali) in June and then moving to west until southern west Java  in  October. The development of high chlorophyll-a values are suitable with that of low sea surface temperature. However the development of highest chlorophyll-a generally move inconsistent with that of lowest sea surface temperature. The highest chlorophyll-a generally happen at the southern of Bali Province. The distance movement of the low sea surface temperature and high chlorophyll-a distributions are affected by IOD value, the higher IOD value the further they move to the west. Abstract

Semenjak pelarangan pengoperasian alat tangkap trawl yang disertai terbitnya Peraturan Menteri Kelautan dan Perikanan Nomor 02 Tahun 2015 tentang larangan penggunaan alat penangkapan ikan pukat hela (trawls) dan pukat tarik (seine nets) di wilayah pengelolaan perikanan Negara Republik Indonesia, penggunaan alat tangkap cantrang mulai berkembang sebagai alat tangkap alternatif pengganti trawl. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi komposisi hasil tangkapan utama serta hasil tangkapan sampingan alat tangkap cantrang dan mengidentifikasi pola musim hasil tangkapan cantrang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survei. Survei yang termasuk kedalam metode deskriptif. Komposisi hasil tangkapan dikategorikan ke dalam dua kelompok yaitu hasil tangkapan utama dan sampingan, kemudian dianalisis secara diskriptif. Pola musim penangkapan ikan dapat ditentukan berdasarkan data hasil tangkapan per upaya penangkapan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan informasi bahwa perbandingan antara hasil tangkapan utama dan sampingan yaitu 30,8% dan 69,5% dari total berat keseluruhan sebesar 312.857.172 kg. Untuk Pola musim penangkapan ikan yang didaratkan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai Tegalsari terjadi pada bulan Agustus, September, November, Desember, Februari, Maret, dan Mei dan mencapai puncaknya terjadi pada bulan Februari. Puncak musim perjenis ikan yang dominan tertangkap adalah cumi-cumi (pada bulan Februari), ikan pari (pada bulan Agustus), ikan kapasan (pada bulan Mei), ikan kuniran (pada bulan Desember), ikan swanggi (pada bulan Februari) dan ikan kurisi (pada bulan Agustus). Since the prohibition of trawling fishing gear operations accompanied by the issuance of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Regulation No. 02 of 2015 concerning the prohibition of the use of trawls and seine nets in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia fisheries, the use of cantrang fishing gear began to develop as an alternative fishing tool in place of trawling. This study aims to identify the composition of the main catch and bycatch of cantrang fishing gear and identify the season pattern of cantrang catches. This research was conducted using survey methods. The survey included in the descriptive method. The composition of the catch is categorized into two groups namely the main catch and the bycatch, then analyzed descriptively. The pattern of fishing season can be determined based on the catch data per fishing effort. Based on the research results obtained information that the ratio between the main catch and the bycatch is 30.8% and 69.5% of the total weight of 312,857,172 kg. The fishing season pattern landed at the Tegalsari Beach Fishery Port occurred in August, September, November, December, February, March, and May and reached its peak in February. The peak season for the dominant types of fish caught are squid (in February), stingrays (in August), common silver-biddy (in May), goatfish (in December), spotted big-eye (in February) and Japanese threadfin bream (in August).

Abstract

Lampung Bay and the adjacent water bodies, Northern Sunda Strait, Western Java Sea, is a potential area for fish capture armada which based in South Lampung Coast. Not all the areas have maximum potency since there is inadequacy for fish capture technical armada and seasonal environment dynamic. This investigation identified fisheries resources on Lampung Bay and fishing gear and potential commodities to developed. This identification implemented by analyzing the provided data to obtain the illustration of Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE) in the Lampung Bay area. Fish capture at the Lampung Bay has been shown the indication of production decline. Therefore, the attempt of capture organizing at the Lampung Bay and the improving of fisherman competence and armada to capture at the Lampung Bay water bodies or Indian Ocean (reach ZEE) should be conducted. Selective fishing gear for catch the potential commodities applied at the Lampung Bay areas. Keywords: Lampung bay, fisheries management, CPUE.

Abstract

Purse seine fishing significantly contribute to fish production at Tamperan fishing port, Pacitan. However decreasing production trend is threatening as a result of overfishing and poor information about fishing seasonal patterns. Purse seine at Tamperan port mostly catch highly valued pelagic fish. Those fish are popular in the region and caught its respective seasonal patterns. The research aims at calculating the fishing productivity and identifying the seasonal pattern of the major targeted species of purse seine based at the Tamperan fishing Port, Pacitan. The research was conducted by interviewing 18 fishers, head of fish auction center and some offers of Tamperan fishing port. Data collection incorporated catch production, types of fish, fishing trips and other data. Productivity was calculated according to KEPMEN N0.61/2014 while fish season patterns were projected using time series and moving average methods. During the last 5 years the fish production landed at PPP Tamperan were skipjack, mackerel scad, and tuna. The number of productions decreased as well as the level of productivity. Factors affecting productivity included the number of crew members, fishing trips, gross tonnage, engine, and net length. Purse seine productivity based on the number of fishing trips (ton/trip) has increased while others have decreased. According to the fish seasons, the best period to conduct purse seine operations in Pacitan Regency are in March, May-September (skipjack), December-February, April-May (mackerel scad), and January-April, July, August (tuna). Abstract

Perairan Kota Ambon dan sekitarnya dimanfaatkan oleh nelayan sebagai daerah penangkapan ikan (DPI) pelagis. Aktifitas pemanfaatannya terindikasi dinamis sebab terjadi perubahan dan perkembangan penerapan teknologi penangkapan ikan serta peraturan di bidang perikanan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan memetakan batas dan menentukan luas daerah penangkapan ikan, mengetahui aksesibilitas, produksi, daerah dan musim penangkapan ikan pelagis, serta mengetahui permasalahan dan konflik pemanfaatan daerah penangkapan ikan pelagis. Data lapangan dikumpulkan pada lokasi terpilih dengan metode RRA dan PRA, juga dengan menggunakan kuesioner serta data sekunder dari berbagai sumber terpercaya. Analisis data dilakukan dengan bantuan komputer, yakni pemetaan batas dan penentuan luas DPI dengan metode kartometrik. Musim penangkapan ikan dianalisis dengan pendekatan statistik serta dibahas secara deskriptif. Permasalahan dan konflik pemanfaatan DPI dibuat dalam tabel untuk dibahas. Hasil pemetaan batas dan penentuan luas DPI Kota Ambon seluas 419,97 km2 dan nelayan Kota Ambon dapat mengakses DPI hingga seluas 1.316,46 km2 bahkan lebih luas lagi pada perairan sekitarnya Pada umumnya puncak musim penangkapan ikan pelagis di DPI Kota Ambon terjadi pada musim pancaroba II hingga musim Barat dan paceklik pada musim Timur.

Abstract

Light fihing activities developed rapidly after the invention of electric lights. The innovation of Light Emitting Diode (LED) as energy saving lamp has a great opportunity to be used in fishing activities. LED lamps require low voltage and current, so that it can be combined with renewable energy sources to encourage more environmentally friendly of fishing capture activity. This study aims to determine the design and construction of an optimal DC converter using Cu-Zn seawater battery as an early stage of LED lamp development with seawater energy source for fixed lift net fishery. The research was conducted at Fishing Technology Laboratory, Department of Fisheries Resources Utilization, FPIK-IPB in August 2017. The treatments were number of windings (30:50, 50:80) and number of toroid (single, double) that was used in DC converter circuit. The energy source used comes from a single seawater battery cell with a zinc anode (Zn) and a copper cathode (Cu) with a size of 40x36 cm, inserted into a 3-inch diameter PVC tube. The voltage was measured by a digital oscilloscope (Iwatsu DS 5102), the current was measured using a multimeter (Sanwa CD 771) and the light intensity was measured using a lux meter. Differences in the number of windings and toroid have a significant effect on the value of inductance. Single Toroid with 80 loops produces the largest inductance value (143.1 mH) compared to other treatments. The use of DC converter with dual toroid and 50:80 winding provides better performance than other treatments with maximum voltage, current and intensity respectively 2.12 V; 121,80 mA and 128 lux

Abstract

Usaha perikanan tangkap berperan penting dalam kegiatan ekonomi dan kehidupan masyarakat di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, namun dinamika interaksi di antara komponen perikanan belum harmonis karena penanganan permasalahannya belum sesuai dengan intensitas interaksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan mengidentifikasi komponen/aspek yang berinteraksi signifikan sehingga dapat diantisipasi untuk penyusunan model pemberdayaan usaha perikanan tangkap yang lebih tepat. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui analisis interaksi kompleks menggunakan Structure Equation Modelling (SEM). Hasil analisis SEM menerangkan bahwa komponen lingkungan internal, lingkungan eksternal, dan lingkungan industri, strategi usaha, kinerja industri perikanan, dan tujuan pembangunan perikanan berinteraksi signifikan berturut-turut dengan aspek manajemen, sosial, entry barier, keuangan, pay back period. Pada lingkup interaksi lebih tinggi, Lingkungan Internal berinteraksi positif signifikan dominan terhadap Lingkungan Eksternal. Lingkungan Eksternal berpengaruh positif signifikan dominan terhadapLingkungan Industri. Sedangkan Strategi Usaha berpengaruh positif signifikan dominan terhadap Tujuan Pembangunan Perikanan. Dalam kaitan ini, maka berbagai permasalahan menyangkut komponen yang berinteraksi signifikan tersebut harus diprioritaskan karena bila tidak akan dapat secara serius mengganggu aktivitas perikanan tangkap yang ada di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Tittle: Assessment of Fisheries Industrial Structure to Develop an Empowerment Model of the Capture Fisheries Business in Yogyakarta.Capture fishery has an important role in the economic activity and livelihood among the people of Yogyakarta. However, the dynamic interactions among the components of fisheries have yet harmonised because problem solving had yet in accordance to interaction intensity. This research aimed to analyse and identify some components having significant interaction so that they can be used to anticipate in developing appropriate model for empowering capture fishery business. This research was conducted through analysis of complex interaction with Structure Equation Modelling (SEM). Results of the SEM analysis showed that the environments (internal, external, and industrial), business strategies, fishing industry performance, and development goals had a significant interaction respectivelly with management, socialaspect, entry barrier, finance, and pay back period. For higher interaction scope, internal environment has a significant positive dominancy to the external environment. External environment had a significant positive dominancy to the industrial environment. While business strategies had a significant positive effect on the goal of fisheries development. In these respect, various problems related to component that significantly interacted has to be prioritised. This is because it directly leads to disturb the capture fishery activity in Yogyakarta.

Abstract

PPN Palabuhan Ratu terletak di Teluk Palabuhan Ratu yang merupakan kawasan yang memiliki potensi perikanan yang penting di wilayah selatan Jawa Barat serta memiliki arti penting terkait kapasitas diri nelayan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat peran faktor internal, eksternal dan etika diri dalam pengembangan kapasitas diri nelayan. Data primer yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 126 nelayan responden diambil secara sengaja berdasarkan konten penilaian sesuai persyaratan. Metode analisis Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Analisa terkait pengembangan kapasitas diri nelayan di Teluk Palabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi menunjukan bahwa pengetahuan, keterampilan, kompetensi, mental, dan komitmen merupakan indikator-indikator penting. Faktor internal yang berpengaruh terhadap pengembangan kapasitas diri nelayan adalah pendidikan formal dan etos kerja nelayan; sedangkan faktor eksternal adalah pemahaman terhadap peraturan perundangan perikanan, penyuluhan dan keberadaan koperasi. Dasar pembuatan kebijakan (bottomup) pengembangan kapasitas diri nelayan di kawasan Teluk Palabuhan Ratu menuju perikanan tangkap berkelanjutan adalah melalui pengembangn sistem pendidikan dan pelatihan berbasis pengembangan kapasitas diri (capacity development) serta pelayanan penyuluhan dengan materi yang sesuai dengan kondisi, karakteristik dan kebutuhan nelayan lokal. (Capacity Building of Fishers in the Sustainable Fishery Development in PPN Palabuhan Ratu)PPN Palabuhan Ratu is located in the Palabuhan Ratu Bay which is an area that has potential important fishery in the southern region of West Java and has significance related to the capacity of the fishers themselves. This study aimed to analyze the role of internal factors, external and ethics in developing the capacity of self-fishers. Primary data were used in this study based on 126 respondents with appropriate assessment requirements (purposive sampling). Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used in this study. Analysis related to the self-capacity development of fishers in the Palabuhan Ratu Bay, Sukabumi shows that the knowledge, skills, competencies, mental, and commitment are important indicators. Internal faktors that influence the self-capacity development of fishers are formal educationand work ethic; whereas the external factors are the understanding of the laws and regulations relating to fisheries, education and the existence of the cooperative. Basis for policy making (bottom-up) on selfcapacity development of fishers in the region of Palabuhan Ratu Bay towards the sustainable capture fisheries is through the progression education and training system based on the development of selfcapacity as well as extension services to the material in accordance with the conditions, characteristics and needs of local fishers.

Abstract

Cilacap adalah salah satu sentra perikanan di Indonesia dengan salah satu produk utamanya adalah udang dan alat tangkap utama yang digunakan adalah trammel net. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menduga status tingkat pemanfaatan stok sumberdaya udang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode survei dan studi pustaka. Analisis data melalui pendekatan model bioekonomi Gordon- Schaefer. Pemanfaatan stok udang pada tahun 2003-2011 berada di bawah kondisi tingkat kelestarian sumberdaya, sedangkan tahun 2012-2013 telah melampaui tingkat kelestarian sumberdaya. Hasil tangkapan tahun 2011 masih di bawah kondisi tingkat kelestarian sumberdaya, namun telah melampaui jumlah tangkapan yang diperbolehkan (JTB). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status pemanfaatan sumberdaya udang terkini sudah overfishing baik secara biologi maupun ekonomi. Jika hal ini terus dibiarkan maka berpotensi merusak kelestarian sumberdaya udang dan mengancam keberlanjutan usaha perikanan tangkap udang yang menjadi mata pencaharian nelayan. Untuk itu diperlukan pengelolaan yang mengatur tingkat pemanfaatan sumberdaya udang sehingga sumberdaya udang tetap lestari dan usaha perikanan udang tetap menguntungkan nelayan. (Bio-economic Status of Shrimp Resources in Cilacap District)Cilacap is one of Indonesian fisheries centre with shrimp as one of its main commodity with trammel net as the main fishing gear that used in the site. The objective of this study was estimating the status of shrimp fisheries in the area. Survei and literature study were used to collect data, while Gordon- Schaefer bioeconomic model was used to analyze them. Results indicated that shrimp yield in 2003-2011 was still under sustainable level; however in 2012-2013 had already exceeded it. Total production in 2011 was also still under sustainable yield but had exceeded its Total Allowable Catch (TAC). Furthermore, it was also indicated that the current status of shrimp fisheries had been overfishing both biologically and economically. This situation could not only potentially undermine shrimp fisheries sustainability but also threaten shrimp business sustainability as fishers’ livelihood if it continued. Therefore, fisheries management which manage the shrimp yield level was needed to not only keep shrimp resources sustained but also profitable for fishers.
