Abstract

This study discusses social development based on religiosity and programmatic politics. Both are discussed in depth in this research so that readers can find descriptions and analysis points from various points of view. The urgency in this research is to find out that social development must be accompanied by innovation, citizen participation and the central role of the creator, namely the Tanjung Village Government. The construction of the Islamic Center in the village of Tanjung is a trigger for increasing religiosity, ease of access to educational facilities and in the long term will give birth to social piety and improve the quality of human resources in the surrounding community. The results of the research show that social development innovations involving external partners will produce optimal results but with the condition that there is active participation of its citizens. Good development starts from the aspirations of the residents and has been programmed, therefore the Head of the Tanjung Er Suwardi village is trying to make it happen, a good image as the figure behind the success of development will stick with him so that he will be able to be re-elected in the next Pilkades. This research has deficiencies that can be refined through further research by focusing more on the negative impacts of social development in order to further enrich the reader's knowledge that social development can also have undesirable impacts.

Abstract

The construction of the sea dike and Semarang-Demak toll road has severed the mangrove ecosystem inside the dike, as well as increased greenhouse gas impacts due to transportation activities and the growth of built-up areas around the dike and toll road. The aim of this research is to formulate a regression model based on spatial data that can be used to measure the impact of transportation activities and building intensity on LST. The data used in this study are the number of motorized vehicles crossing the main roads in Semarang City and LST obtained from the Landsat 8 thermal infrared sensor band in 2013 and 2019. This research utilizes Geographic Information System, Remote Sensing, and statistical methods to model the environmental impact of the sea dike and toll road development. This model used to predict the environmental impact of the sea dike and Semarang-Demak Toll Road in the future. The result shows that the increase in the number of motorized vehicles and building intensity has a high contribution to LST. Every additional 1,000 passenger cars on a road will make LST increase from 0.0150C to 0.0380C, whereas every 10% increase in land intensity will make LST increase by 0.030C. In addition, there is an increase in the LST value of 300C from 260C previously. This model is expected to provide input for each stakeholder to mitigate the potential environmental impacts of the Semarang-Demak Sea dike and toll road in the future, and hope that the Semarang-Demak Sea dike.

Abstract

Abstract Increased transportation activities and industrial operations contribute significantly to air pollution, including emissions of gaseous pollutants and particulate matter. Exposure to total suspended particulate (TSP) can increase the risk of respiratory problems  in living beings. Both  primary and ancillary activities in the cement industry produce large amounts of pollutant emissions into the air and the surrounding environment. This study aims to model and analyze the distribution of TSP concentrations in ambient air in the dry and wet seasons sourced from the transportation of raw materials and cement products. Dispersion modeling was conducted using the American Meteorological Society/Environmental Protection Agency Regulatory Model (AERMOD). The TSP emission rate was calculated and used as input to estimate the emission load and TSP concentration values. A wind rose was analyzed to determine the directional pattern of TSP concentration distribution generated by AERMOD. The modeling results show that TSP concentrations tend to be high on the right and left sides of the main road, following the dominant wind direction. The annual increase in TSP concentrations ranged from 3 to 325 µg/m³ within a radius of 7.2 meters from the road axle, but no residential areas were found within this radius. In the wet season, the highest concentration increase was recorded between 200 and 281 µg/m³ within a radius of 38 meters from the road axle, with a total of 76 houses affected. Meanwhile, in the dry season, the highest concentrations ranged from 2 to 176 µg/m³ within a radius of 80.3 meters, with 125 houses potentially receiving particulate matter exposure. The exposure to particulate matter in this residential area is alarming, so further studies are needed regarding health impacts and community perceptions of air quality in the affected area.

Abstract

Semarang City is a coastal city facing serious problems related to climate change impacts, both in its physical environment and social vulnerability. Climate change does not occur in a vacuum, but manifests within a complex of social spaces, including gender relations. Referring to such a socio-ecological perspective, this study attempts to analyze the operational mechanism of climate change by reviewing gender relations as their spatial-social dimension. Simultaneously, this study examines the extent to which climate resilience policies in Semarang City have integrated considerations of the social space. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, FGD, and review of Semarang City's climate resilience policy documents. Descriptive analysis was used to describe how exposure to climate change impacts men and women, while content analysis was used to examine Semarang City's climate resilience policies. The findings indicate that socio-ecological vulnerability is more prevalent among women's groups than men's. It is evident that as women experience more exposure to climate change impacts, and at the same time, the issues of women's vulnerability are not prioritized in climate resilience policies. This research recommends more just, socio-ecological governance in building climate resilience.

Abstract

One important factor that determines the successful implementation of mother and child policy is support from community especially the community whose be the target of the polices (clients) and also certain parties (coalitions) who have an interest in the policy. This paper aims to find clients and coalitions in the implementation of health mothers and children in Kupang Regency, which is one of the regions in Indonesia with the highest infant mortality cases. The method used is descriptive qualitative, by using one indicator in Najam implementation models, namely client and coalitions for analysis. The results of the study show that the implementation of Perda No 3 of 2016 as maternal and child health policy in Kupang Regency has not received support from the community, especially those who are the client of the policy. Therefore, it is recommended that the Kupang Regencial Government increase the socialization to the people in particular who are the clients of this policy
