Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) children are an infectious disease caused by rod-shaped bacteria (bacilli) known as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and occur at the age of 0-14 years. Based on the Global Tuberculosis Report in 2017, as many as 500,000 children were affected by TB in 2016. The number of TB patients in Wonosobo District in 2017 was 1,442 cases, with the number of TB cases of children 337 cases. This study used an observational analytic research approach with a study design namely case control. The number of samples taken in this study were 96 respondents, with 48 cases and 48 controls. Analysis of the data used is the chi square test. The results of the chi-square analysis show that the variable which is the risk factor for the occurrence of Child TB in Wonosobo Regency is a history of contact with TB patients (OR = 5.8, p = 0.001). From these results it is expected that TB patients who live with children to use masks and also not throw phlegm carelessly to minimize transmission to children.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is a disease caused by the entry of Mycobacterium tuberculosis into the body through the respiratory cavity. Based on the Health Profile of Magelang District, there was a significant increase of cases of pulmonary tuberculosis in children. In 2014 there were no cases of pulmonary TB in children, while in 2015 found 81 (11%) cases of pulmonary TB in children. This study aims to analyze related factors to the incidence of children tuberculosis in Magelang District from January 2016-June 2017. This study was conducted using observational analytic method with case control study. The sample used in this study were 100 respondents, consisting of 50 cases and 50 controls.. The results of statistical tests showed that there were several factors related to pulmonary TB incidence in children. There are contact history (p=0,018; OR=3,143; 95% CI=1,291–7,653), floor type (p=0,031; OR=2,897, 95% CI=1,187–7,067), ventilation area (p=0,004; OR=3,717; 95% CI=1,581–8,738), lighting level (p=0,024; OR=3,218; 95% CI=1,248–8,299), humidity (p=0,009; OR=3,160; 95% CI=1,397–7,152), parent income level (p=0,009; OR=3,188; 95% CI=1,403–7,241), parent education level (p=0,009; OR=3,579; 95% CI=1,437–8,913), and parents knowledge level (p=0,02; OR=3,020; 95% CI=1,265–7,209). It is suggested to Magelang Regency Health Office to improve health promotion related to healthy house requirement and improvement of clean and healthy life behavior to avoid transmission of tuberculosis disease.

Abstract

Flies are insects and act as mechanical vectors for various diseases. These insects have always coexisted with humans. Preliminary survey results obtained 10.8 birds / flygrill categorized as high density. One effort to reduce the density of flies using four effective microorganism (EM 4). The research objective was to determine the effect of four concentrations of effective microorganism (EM 4) to the density of flies. The study design used is True Experiment with models pretest posttest with control group. This research was conducted in the village of cattle breeders Sidomukti Subdistric Bandungan District of Semarang. The real test with a concentration of 0.328%: 0.656%: 1.312%: 2.624%, and 5.246%. With the control and treatment carried out 5 and 5 repetitions needed 30 cowshed. From statistical test their mean level of concentration of the density of flies before and after use of effective microorganism 4 obtained sequentially is 43.70%: 52.30: 74.11%: 79.58%: 85.24% -1.73% while the average control. Furthermore, to examine differences in concentration and control test Kruskal Wellis test with significance level of 0.05 (p = 0.05) with a 95% confidence level (α) 0.05 p value (probalibilitas) 0.000 <0.05 shows there differences in the level of concentration of the density of flies. To determine the effective concentration level, then used mann whetney test with p <0.05, the analysis of the respective mean concentrations of p <0.05 showed no significant difference. As for suggestions for effective concentration is 5.248% with a mean of 85.24% decrease.

Case of DHF in Kedungmundu Primary Health Service was just happen 2014 which amount 154 cases with 86% of cases in the age group of 6 months-14 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of host factors (age 6 months-14 years) and the existence of the vector with the incidence of DHF in Kedungmundu Primary Health Service Semarang. This type of research was quantitative with a case control approach. Total sample was 104 samples. Analysis of data using chi-square test. The results of this research showed that there were association using mosquito repellent (p=0.003), history of DHF illness (p=0.008), and the existence of larva (p=0.0001) with incidence of DHF. Meanwhile, there were no relationship habit of sleeping morning/noon (p=0.430), habit of sleeping afternoon (p=0.691), habit of hanging clothes (p=0.316), using of mosquito nets (p=0.339), and nutritional status (p=0.150) with incidence of DHF. It was advisable for the community to increase efforts to improve activities mosquito nest eradication (PSN), and for Kedungmundu Primary Health Service to increase efforts to control DHF, for example regular larva monitoring and thorough.

Abstract

Some species of the fly is a vector borne diseases that contribute to public health problems. A fly can carry 65 million micro-organisms, it is not surprising if many people sick because their food was contaminated by the flies. Therefore, it is necessary to study the methods of control are effective and safe for the environment by using variations of flavor baits (durian, jackfruit, mango, frambozen, and pineapple).Research was aimed to analyze the effect of baits flavour variation to the number of flies caught in a yellow trap. The design study is Pseudo Experiment with design Post Test Only Control Group Design. Research was conducted in a cowshed, Hamlet Tegalsari, Village Sidomukti, District Bandungan, Semarang for 2 days. The experiment was repeated 5 times with the same time of day.The results showed the number of flies caught in a trap without bait is 4, trap with pineapple bait is 13.8, trap with jackfruit bait is 14.6, trap with durian bait is 47.2, trap with mango and frambozen bait is 19.8. The species of flies was trapped is 603 tail Fannia spp and 2 tail Stomoxys calcitrans sp. Data was analyzed by Kruskal Wallis test at the significance level α = 0.05. Results of calculation by Man Whitney test is there are different variations of flavour baits to the number of flies trapped. The order of variation from the lowest to the highest are control, pineapple, jackfruit, mango, frambozen, and durian.

The sampling technique by purposive random sampling was 97 respondents. The result shows that the highest percentage by age of Salmonella spp contamination at age 12-<24 months, whereas the incidence of diarrhea at age 0- <6 months. The highest percentage of caregiver knowledge of Salmonella spp contamination and diarrhea in the respondents who well categorized. The highest percentage of Salmonella spp contamination and the incidence of diarrhea in bad bottle sanitation variables. Source of water in the manufacture of milk derived from gallons has the highest percentage of Salmonella spp contamination, while the highest presentation on diarrhea occurrence is in good water. The health workers suggested of increasing personal hygiene and sanitation to the mother/caregiver
