Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between work motivation and employee performance. A simple linear regression analysis was conducted using data collected from employees in Lapas Kelas IIA Sumbawa. The results showed a weak positive correlation between the work motivation variable (X) and employee performance variable (Y). The regression analysis revealed that work motivation significantly influenced employee performance. The correlation coefficient between the two variables was 0.359, indicating a weak positive relationship. The analysis also indicated that 12.9% of the variation in employee performance could be explained by the work motivation variable, while the remaining 87.1% was influenced by other factors not considered in this study. This suggests the presence of other factors that also play a role in determining employee performance.

Abstract

The utilization of information technology in a correctional facility (Lapas) is growing more crucial in the present digital age. This research aims to find out how much employee performance is influenced by technology at the Class IIA Bengkulu Correctional Institution. This research used quantitative methods with 35 people as samples. In collecting data, this research uses a questionnaire as an instrument to collect data collected from Google forms and data obtained using SPSS 25. The findings of the study indicate that 85.2%, whereas the remaining 14.8% is accounted for by other factors.

Abstract

Pembinaan bagi warga binaan pemasyarakatan diharapkan menjadi salah satu usaha pemasyarakatan dalam menjalankan tatanan sistem reintegrasi sosial bagi warga binaan yang menjalani masa pidananya. Dalam masa pembinaan mempunyai beberapa kegiatan produktif seperti pengasahan keterampilan kerja bagi warga binaan pemasyarakatan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas bentuk keterampilan kerja warga binaan pemasyarakatan yang menunjang tujuan pemasyarakatan dalam upaya peran aktif pembangunan. Sehingga digunakannya metode empiris yang bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan riset yang dilakukan, keterampilan kerja pada warga binaan pemasyarakatan baik narapidana laki-laki atau perempuan memiliki tingkat keefektifan yang baik. Keterampilan kerja dapat dikategorikan dalam keterampilan khusus dengan bidang pertukangan kayu, pembuatan korek api, kerajinan, pertukangan dan memasak. Dimana upaya tersebut sudah memberikan peran aktif dalam pembangunan sumber daya manusia produktif. Peneliti menyarankan agar terciptanya kondisi yang stabil diperlukannya pemahaman tanggung jawab serta kompetensi yang diasah secara rutin dengan pemberian sarana dan prasarana bagi kegiatan keterampilan kerja warga binaan pemasyarakatan.

Abstract

Residivism in drug-related crimes remains a critical issue, impacting the rehabilitation process and reintegration of former inmates into society. This study focuses on Lembaga Pemasyarakatan in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, to explore the factors driving recidivism among drug offenders. Through a comprehensive analysis of internal and external factors, including individual characteristics, social environment, and social control, this research aims to identify the root causes of recidivism in drug-related crimes. The study also highlights the practical challenges faced by the institution, such as limited facilities, financial constraints, and the need for effective post-release supervision. To address these issues, practical recommendations include enhancing facilities, implementing structured rehabilitation programs, fostering collaboration with NGOs and local communities, and increasing family education. On a theoretical level, this research calls for further studies, the development of specific theoretical models, program evaluation, and comparative research to identify best practices in tackling drug-related crime recidivism. This study aims to contribute to the effective prevention and rehabilitation of drug offenders, ultimately reducing recidivism rates and facilitating their positive reintegration into society.

Abstract

Self-esteem and resilience are two psychological concepts that can influence each other, especially in correctional foster children. In this context, self-esteem refers to the level of self-esteem or confidence of correctional foster children in their own abilities and self-worth, while resilience refers to the ability of fostered children to overcome challenges, pressures, or trauma and recover well. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the influence of Self-Esteem on the Resilience of Assisted Children at the Kutoarjo Class I Special Child Development Institute. The research method used is a quantitative research method using primary data from questionnaires distributed through non-probability sampling techniques with saturated sampling or total sampling to all Assisted Children at the Special Development Institute for Class I Children in Blitar as many as 80 people. The questionnaire contains 50 items of statements related to research variables, which are then analyzed by descriptive analysis tests, simple linear regression tests, significance tests and determination tests using the help of IBM SPSS 25 software. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between Self-Esteem and Resilience in the Kutoarjo Class I Special Child Development Institute. Abstract

The rise of acts of violence against prisoners in cases of sexual violence in correctional institutions plus the mental pressure received by prisoners makes many prisoners with cases of sexual violence experience depression. Self-compassion is considered a capability to reduce prisoner depression. This research aims to find out the influence of self-compassion in reducing the depression of prisoners in cases of sexual violence. This research uses the quantitative research methods which is the primary data that comes from a questionnaire filled out by 50 prisoners in cases of sexual violence at the Class IIB Tasikmalaya Penitentiary. The data analysis technique in this research uses normality tests, simple linear regression, significance, and determination. The analysis results obtained a strong negative influence of self-compassion on depression in prisoners committing sexual violence cases at the Class IIB Tasikmalaya Penitentiary. Abstract

This study examines how Self Control affects Prisoner Recidivism at the Class IIA Padang Correctional Institution. The sampling technique used in this study used the formula from Krejcie and Morgan. So that the number of samples obtained was 165 recidivist prisoners out of 286 recidivist prisoners of the Class IIA Padang Correctional Institution. The simple linear regression method was used in analyzing the research data. From the results of data processing carried out, it is known that Self Control affects Prisoner Recidivism at the Class IIA Padang Correctional Institution with an influence level (R-Square) of 64.3%. The findings of this study can help officers to pay more attention to the sustainability of factors that affect Self Control which is an important part of a recidivist's life. In addition, this research contributes in a new way, namely as literature in the field of corrections. Keywords: Self Control; Recidivism; Correctional Institution

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between male inmates' self-acceptance and anxiety, particularly in cases of violent theft at Class II A Subang Correctional Institution. Data were collected through surveys and statistical analysis. The results showed that most of the prisoners in the sample had low levels of self-acceptance in several dimensions, including self-values and standards, taking responsibility for actions, accepting criticism and suggestions, and not blaming oneself. Data analysis also revealed a correlation between low self-acceptance and anxiety, particularly in cases of violent theft. In addition, prisoners about to be released often experience anxiety related to social stigma that can affect their mental health. With a focus on feelings of low self-esteem and concerns about the future, prisoners often face challenges in reintegrating into society. This research provides an understanding of the characteristics of prisoners, such as age, education, employment, and marital status, which may influence their criminal behavior. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of a hardiness personality on the resilience of narcotics crime convicts at the Class IIB Lubuk Pakam Correctional Institution. This study uses quantitative research methods with non-probability sample techniques of as many as 83 respondents. The data analysis technique used in this study is through descriptive analysis test, simple linear regression test, significance test, and determination test which is processed using IBM SPSS software version 25. The research method used in this study uses statistical data analysis involving the t-test, with the results showing a positive and significant influence between hardiness personality and resilience of narcotics crime convicts at Class IIB Correctional Institution Lubuk Pakam. These results provide a better understanding of the importance of developing psychological intervention and rehabilitation programs that consider the resilient personality factor in improving the resilience of prisoners of narcotics crimes at the Class IIB Lubuk Pakam Correctional Institution. Abstract

This research discusses the triggering factors leading children to become re-offenders after returning to their families and the community. LPKA has a role in providing proper guidance and education for the future of children. However, in reality, there are still many children at LPKA Kelas I Medan who continue to commit repeated offenses. This research aims to analyze various causes and find the best solutions using the theory of social control. The research was conducted at LPKA Kelas I Medan using a qualitative research method, and the data collection technique involved interviews with re-offending children and their parents. The results of the research show that the social control theory, which includes attachment, commitment, involvement, and individual norms/values, has a significant impact on the rate of child re-offending at LPKA Kelas I Medan when combined with adequate implementation, guidance, quality education, and constructive counseling.
