Abstract

The Cultural Value of the Legend of Datuk Marsam The Grasshopper Turmeric as an Alternative Teaching Material. This study aims to describe the cultural values in the Legend of Datuk Marsam Sang Grasshopper Turmeric as an alternative teaching material at SMP Adhyaksa 1 Jambi. The method used is a qualitative. The data in this study were obtained from words, sentences, dialogue quotes, and interview results. Sources of data come from the book Legend of Datuk Marsam The Grasshopper Turmeric and teachers. The results of the study found cultural values: 1) relationship with the Creator (praying habits, feelings of gratitude), 2) relationship with nature (correct use of natural resources), 3) relationship with society (conducting deliberations, obedience to customs, maintaining harmony, wise attitude), 4) relationships with other humans (friendliness and courtesy, respect, mutual cooperation, feelings of affection, obedience to parents, keeping promises), and 5) relationships with oneself (maintaining self-esteem, responsibility, courage, assertiveness). This legend book can be used as teaching material.

Abstract

This study tries to analyze the importance of education in JS Khairen's book Kami (not) Bachelor of Paper. Novel excerpts in the shape of phrases and paragraphs make up the research's data. Descriptive analysis with a qualitative research type is the technique employed. JS Khairen's novel Kami (not) Bachelor of Paper contains educational qualities in accordance with Sukardi's theory, specifically divine values, mark moral, mark social, and mark cultural, according to the study's findings. Overall, moral education is the most important educational value. Following that, using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, the data in the form of educational value was examined for its meaning using terms like denotative meaning, meaning connotation, and meaning myth. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai pendidikan dalam novel Kami (bukan) Sarjana Kertas karya J.S. Khairen. Data penelitian ini adalah kutipan novel yang berupa kalimat dan paragraf. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analisis dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam novel Kami (bukan) Sarjana Kertas karya J.S. Khairen terdapat nilai-nilai pendidikan menurut teori Sukardi, yaitu: nilai ketuhanan, nilai moral, nilai sosial, dan nilai budaya. Secara keseluruhan, nilai pendidikan yang mendominasi adalah nilai pendidikan moral. Setelah itu, data berupa nilai pendidikan tersebut dianalisis maknanya dengan menggunakan kajian semiotika Roland Barthes, seperti: makna denotasi, makna konotasi, dan makna mitos.

Abstract

enelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis, fungsi, dan makna metafora dalam Antologi cerpen Tukar Takdir karya Valiant Budi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik baca dan catat dari penggalan dialog dan narasi di setiap bagian cerpen yang memiliki makna metaforis. Hasil penelitian antologi cerpen Tukar Takdir karya Valiant Budi menunjukkan terdapat keseluruhan 69 data yang terdiri dari 35 data metafora antropomorfis, 7 data metafora binatang, 17 data metafora konkret ke abstrak, dan 10 data metafora sinaestetik. Metafora tersebut memiliki fungsi bervariasi yaitu 28 data fungsi mengatasi kekurangan atau keterbatasan leksikon, 27 data fungsi ekspresif, dan 14 data fungsi menghindari atau mengurangi ketunggal-nadaan (monotonitas). Metafora pada data di dalam kumpulan cerpen Tukar Takdir juga terbagi menjadi makna-makna yang beragam mulai dari 25 data makna stilistik, 10 data makna konotatif, 25 data makna afektif, dan 9 data makna reflektif. Abstract This study aims to determine the types, functions, and meanings of metaphors in the Anthology of Valiant Budi's short story Swap Destiny. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by reading and noting techniques from dialogue and narration fragments in each part of the short story that has a metaphorical meaning. The results of the anthology of the short story Tukar Takdir by Valiant Budi show that there are a total of 69 data consisting of 35 anthropomorphic metaphor data, 7 animal metaphor data, 17 concrete to abstract metaphor data, and 10 synaesthetic metaphor data. These metaphors have varied functions, namely 28 data functions to overcome deficiencies or limitations of the lexicon, 27 data functions are expressive, and 14 data functions avoid or reduce monotony. The metaphors in the data in the Tukar Takdir short story collection are also divided into various meanings starting from 25 stylistic meaning data, 10 connotative meaning data, 25 affective meaning data, and 9 reflective meaning data.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of Stoicism philosophical value ​in the main character in the novel Tentang Kamu by Tere Liye. The value is in the form of a dichotomy of control. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection using reading and note-taking techniques on the research object of the novel Tentang Kamu by Tere Liye. The data is in the form of the main character's character that represents the dichotomy of control of Stoicism philosophical values ​​which are analyzed using the nature of characterization by Burhan Nurgiyantoro. The results of the study showed twelve data on the dichotomy of control values ​​consisting of descriptions through narration 2 data, descriptions through the main character's dialogue 1 data, descriptions through interactions between other characters 3 data, descriptions through the thoughts of other characters towards the main character 2 data. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the main character in the novel Tentang Kamu represents the value ​of Stoicism philosophy. Proven by the findings in the form of dichotomy of control value ​​fulfilling all elements of the nature of characterization so that the representation of dichotomy of control values ​​through the main character is easily understood by the reader. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis repsentasi nilai filsafat Stokisme tokoh utama novel Tentang Kamu karya Tere Liye. Nilai tersebut berupa dikotomi kendali. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data penelitian teknik baca dan catat pada objek penelitian novel Tentang Kamu karya Tere Liye. Data berupa karakter tokoh utama yang merepresentasikan dikotomi kendali nilai filsafat Stoikisme dianalisis menggunakan hakikat penokohan oleh Burhan Nurgiyantoro.   Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai dikotomi kendali terdiri atas deskripsi melalui narasi 2 data, deskripsi melalui dialog tokoh utama 1 data, deskripsi melalui interaksi antar tokoh lain 3 data, deskripsi melalui pikiran tokoh lain terhadap tokoh utama 2 data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan tokoh utama novel Tentang Kamu merepresentasikan nilai filsafat Stoikisme, dibuktikan dengan nilai dikotomi kendali memenuhi semua unsur hakikat penokohan sehingga representasi nilai dikotomi kendali tokoh utama dipahami dengan mudah oleh pembaca.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan kontekstual secara terperinci mengenai sikap eksistensial pasca positivisme menuju konstruktivisme dalam mata kesusastraan serta bagaimana kedudukannya dalam kontribusinya terhadap aspek literasi siswa. Dengan dilakukannya penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, ditemui bawa arah pendidikan suku anak dalam dalam dekade ini mulai beranjak dari paradigma positivisme mengarah pada ranah konstruktivisme. Kendati demikian, kemampuan literasi siswa suku anak dalam pada tingkat dasar masih sangat kurang terutama jikalau disandingkan dengan siswa pada umumnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa resistensi terhadap intervensi luar, kurangnya pemahaman tentang kearifan lokal, dan rendahnya motivasi belajar menjadi tantangan utama. Namun, kolaborasi yang efektif antara semua pihak dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung dan relevan. Dengan mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal ke dalam pendidikan, siswa dapat lebih terhubung dengan materi ajar dan mengembangkan identitas budaya yang kuat.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implications of empiricism theory in the development of professionalism among elementary school teachers. This study is qualitative and employs a literature review method. The research seeks sources related to the empiricism movement concerning the development of professionalism among elementary school teachers. The sources for this research include books, research articles, and other supporting documents. The results of this study indicate that the empiricism movement brings a different nuance to the world of education in developing the professionalism of teachers, especially in elementary schools. This movement provides a foundation of responsibility for teachers regarding the nature of every learning practice in elementary schools through their senses. Thus, it fosters a good and accurate understanding of the needs of students, and it is hoped that students will acquire knowledge based on their experiences. The perspective of empiricism in the development of teacher professionalism also provides direction and fundamental guidelines for efforts to improve, advance, and establish a solid foundation for maintaining education.

Abstract

The Innovation and Efficiency Workshop aims to build the competence of teachers and administrative staff  of SMK in office management and learning administration by optimizing information technology. This activity was carried out at SMKN 8 Merangin as an effort to support the improvement of the quality of education through the use of effective and efficient technology. This workshop includes training on digital office applications, correspondence management systems, and technology-based learning administration management. The learning methods applied are participatory, with group discussions, case studies, and direct practice. The results of the workshop showed an increase in participants' skills in integrating technology into administrative tasks and learning activities. Participants also responded positively by stating that this training was relevant and supported their daily tasks. This workshop is expected to be the basis for sustainable capacity development in the school environment, strengthening administrative governance, and improving the quality of technology-based learning and school management services.  Keywords: innovation, efficiency, teacher competence, office management, learning administration, information technology

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada materi sejarah Kependudukan Jepang melalui model pembelajaran discovery learning. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan di kelas XI F-4 SMAN 2 Kota Jambi dengan 36 siswa. Model pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa ini dipilih untuk mengatasi rendahnya minat belajar. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, dan penelitian dilaksanakan dalam empat tahap: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan minat belajar siswa dari 47% dan 57% pada siklus pertama menjadi 76% dan 85% pada siklus kedua. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa discovery learning efektif dalam meningkatkan minat dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah.

Abstract

Introduction: The arrangement of cultural heritage areas is an important strategy in preserving historical heritage while encouraging social and economic growth of the community. The Muaro Jambi Temple area, as one of the largest archaeological sites in Southeast Asia, has significant historical, cultural, and spiritual value. Objective: This study aims to analyze the impact of the arrangement of the Muaro Jambi Temple on the physical, social, and economic environment of the community in Muaro Jambi Village and Kemingking Luar Village. Method: The method used is a quantitative descriptive survey approach through the distribution of questionnaires to 43 respondents selected using purposive and simple random sampling techniques. Results and Discussion: The results indicate that the development of the area has had a positive impact on environmental aspects such as infrastructure improvements, waste management, and area conservation. From a social perspective, there has been an increase in community participation, social interaction, and awareness of cultural preservation. Economically, the development of the area has encouraged business opportunities, increased community income, and the growth of both the formal and informal sectors. Conclusion: The development of the Muaro Jambi Temple area has proven significant in improving the social and economic quality of the surrounding community, although further optimization of sustainable planning and comprehensive community involvement is still needed.

Abstract

Kegiatan pelatihan ini diletarbelakangi oleh pentingnya peningkatan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menulis proposal skripsi melalui pelatihan. Tujuan pelatihan ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada mahasiswa dalam menulis proposal skripsi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode ceramah, tanyajawab, dan praktikum. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa memahami tentang penulisan proposal skripsi dengan baik. Antusias juga terlihat ketika mahasiswa aktif dalam menanyakan berbagai hal dalam penulisan ilmiah pada tim pengabdian saat tanya-jawab. Kegiatan ini harus dilakukan secara berkelanjutan.
