Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the main causes of cancer death in women around the world today. Among gynecologic malignant tumors, cancer of the uterine cervix is still ranked first in Indonesia and is a cause of death for Indonesian women. Cervical cancer is caused by infection with the HPV virus (Human Pappiloma Virus). The onset of this cancer occurs because most women do not want to do an early detection check with pap smears. Women do not want to be examined because of ignorance, fear, shame and economic factors. This is generally due to the low level of knowledge of the Indonesian population who do not understand the importance of pap smears. Pap smear examination is an attempt to take fluid from the vagina to see cell abnormalities around the cervix. Through pap smear examination, the precancerous stage until the cancer can be detected so as to allow treatment quickly and precisely. This study aims to determine the relationship of maternal knowledge about early detection of cervical cancer with pap smear examination in Obgyn Poly Hospital H. Adam Medan Hospital. This type of research is descriptive correlative with cross sectional approach. The population of the study were 71 mothers who visited poly obgyn as many as 71 mothers and a total sample of 60 mothers were taken by purposive sampling. Data collection was done using questionnaires and observations, then the research data was analyzed by chi-square statistical test value p = 0.05. Based on the results of data analysis it is known that there is a relationship between maternal knowledge about early detection of cervical cancer with pap smear examination and p value = 0.000 <0.05. Therefore, it is recommended for mothers who have not done pap smears to find information about pap smears from the media that have been provided from the government and actively participate in counseling especially about women's reproductive health.

Abstract

Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience due to actual and potential tissue damage. One of the non-pharmacological therapies to deal with pain is the back massage technique. The technique can reduce the intensity of pain in postoperative appendicitis patients so that the therapy can provide comfort for the patient. This study aims to explore the effect of back massage technique on reducing pain intensity in patients with postoperative appendicitis. This type of research is pre-experimental using a one-group pre-post design test. The research population included 13 patients postoperative appendicitis at Royal Prima Hospital Medan in 2018. The research samples were drawn by using the Accidental Sampling technique. The research was conducted on March 2018 at Royal Prima hospital Medan. The research data were analyzed using Wilcoxon Test with a significant value of α = 0.05. The patient experienced pain before back massage was provided and after the administration of back massage technique, patient experiencing mild pain was 60% and 40% experienced moderate pain. The results of bivariate analysis showed that p-value = 0.034. This showed that there was a difference between the intensity of pain before and after the back massage technique was performed in patients with postoperative appendicitis. From the results of the above research, it is suggested that the implementation of back massage techniques has an effect on the decrease in pain intensity in patients with postoperative appendicitis. This back massage technique can be applied at hospitals as a measure of pain management which is an independent action of the nurse to handle the patient's pain.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Cardiovascular type 2 diabetics are 2-3 times more likely to have illness, this is due to insulin resistance and blood vessel abnormalities that occur before diabetes is diagnosed. High blood pressure can make cells sensitive (insulin resistant), if cells are resistant then blood sugar will be thrown off. This study's objective was to ascertain whether type 2 diabetics have a correlation between their blood pressure and blood sugar levels. The research used was quantitative with a crossectional study design. Fifty patients with type 2 diabetes served as the study's population and sample, and an incidental sampling approach was used. The study's findings were acquired through the use of the spearman rank test with p results < 0.05. The association between blood pressure and blood sugar levels among those suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus is the study's conclusion. The value obtained from this study is a significant value of 0.002 and a corelation coefficient value of 0.419, indicating If the relationship between blood pressure and blood sugar is sufficiently correlated.                                                                  Keywords: Blood Sugar Levels, Blood Pressure, Type 2 Diabetes ABSTRAK Penderita DM tipe 2 mengalami peningkatan risiko penyakit kardiovaskular 2 hingga 3 kali lipat, hal ini disebabkan adanya resistensi insulin serta kelainan pembuluh darah yang terjadi sebelum terdiagnosa diabetes. Kaltal Kunci: Kaldalr Gulal Dalralh, Tekalnaln Dalralh, Dialbetes Tipe 2
