Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of training and teamwork on work performance with job satisfaction as a mediating variable on employees of PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 North Medan. The problem in this study is motivated by the importance of human resources with high work performance to support the achievement of organizational targets, but in practice there is still a mismatch between training and teamwork with the level of employee satisfaction and work performance. The population in this study were all employees of PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 North Medan, totaling 144 people. Because the population is less than 200, the sampling technique used is a saturated sampling technique, where the entire population is used as a sample. The data analysis method uses Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with the help of SmartPLS software. The results of the study show that: (1) training has a positive and significant effect on work performance, but does not have a significant effect on job satisfaction; (2) teamwork has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and work performance; (3) job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on work performance; (4) Job satisfaction significantly mediates the influence of teamwork on work performance, but does not significantly mediate the relationship between training and work performance. This study concludes that teamwork is an important factor in increasing job satisfaction and performance, while the effectiveness of training needs to be reviewed so that it can provide a more optimal impact on job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Competence and Work Discipline on Rewards with Work Infrastructure as a moderating variable at PT PLN (Persero) Rantauprapat Customer Service Implementation Unit. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis method. The number of respondents in this study was 86 people. The results showed that Competence (coefficient = 0.388; T-statistic = 3.266; P-values = 0.001) and Work Discipline (coefficient = 0.276; T-statistic = 2.307; P-values = 0.011) had a positive and significant effect on Rewards. Work Infrastructure also had a positive and significant effect on Rewards (coefficient = 0.362; T-statistic = 3.274; P-values = 0.001). However, the moderation effect test shows that the interaction between Competence and Work Infrastructure (coefficient = -0.031; T-statistic = 0.235; P-values = 0.407), as well as the interaction between Work Discipline and Work Infrastructure (coefficient = 0.112; T-statistic = 0.900; P-values = 0.184), do not significantly influence Rewards. Thus, employee Rewards are more directly influenced by competence, discipline, and the availability of work infrastructure, compared to the moderating effect of work infrastructure.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the number of employees and competency on the effectiveness of work results with education as a moderating variable on employees in the Commerce and Customer Management Division and the Finance, Communication and General Division at PT PLN (Persero) North Sumatra Main Distribution Unit. The research problem stems from the importance of the effectiveness of work results in supporting the sustainability of company operations, especially in the electricity distribution sector which demands efficiency, service quality, and accuracy of employee performance. This type of research is quantitative research using a survey method. The population in this study were all employees in the studied field with a sample of 94 respondents determined through saturated sampling techniques. The research instrument was a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Square (SmartPLS 3.0). The results of the study indicate that: (1) the number of employees has a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of work results; (2) competency has a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of work results; (3) education is unable to moderate the relationship between the number of employees and the effectiveness of work results; and (4) education is unable to moderate the relationship between competency and the effectiveness of work results. The R-square value of 0.693 indicates that 69.3% of the variation in work effectiveness can be explained by the number of employees and their competencies, while the remainder is influenced by factors outside the research model. This finding emphasizes the importance of proportionally increasing the number of employees and developing employee competencies in improving work effectiveness. However, the role of education as a moderating variable has not been proven significant in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of training, competence, and work effectiveness on employee performance, with moderation variables strengthening the relationship among these variables. The research was conducted at PT PLN (Persero) North Sumatra Distribution Management Implementation Unit (UP2D). The population consisted of 47 employees, and due to the relatively small population size, the saturated sampling technique was used, where the entire population was taken as the sample. The data analysis method applied a quantitative approach using the SmartPLS software. The results indicate that training has a negative and insignificant effect on employee performance, while competence and work effectiveness have a positive and significant effect. Additionally, the first moderating effect shows a negative and significant influence, whereas the second moderating effect has a positive but insignificant influence on performance. These findings suggest that in order to improve employee performance, the company should focus on enhancing employee competence and work effectiveness, while also evaluating training programs and moderating factors that affect the relationships among the variables studied.
