Abstract

There is still a perception that the singing method is only effective in small classes and with elementary school children. This study aims to apply the singing method as an innovative approach to learning Arabic vocabulary, in order to determine its impact on students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary in terms of pronunciation, fluency, and memorization. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive data presentation method. Data collection techniques include observation and interviews regarding the application of the singing method. Data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman Model involve data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The results of this study conclude that teachers create positive resonances, stimuli, and affirmations to foster student comfort, confidence, and engagement in the classroom. Teachers then provide examples and repetitions of Arabic vocabulary songs they have created. Singing Arabic vocabulary, accompanied by music, initially engages even the least enthusiastic students. Students who initially lack confidence become more assured and dedicated, leading to improved fluency in pronouncing Arabic vocabulary.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aspek psikologis dakwah dalam kitab “Al-Futuhat al-Makkiyah” karya Ibnu Arabi, khususnya nilai dan makna spiritual. Buku ini merupakan kumpulan utama metafisika, kosmologi, antropologi spiritual, psikologi, dan yurisprudensi, dan dianggap sebagai jantung ajaran spiritual Ibnu Arabi. Fokus utama dalam Futuhat adalah serangkaian kualitas dan kapasitas spiritual khusus yang menandai tahap spiritual khusus ini (manzil), yang dianggap simbolis oleh Ibn Arabi dalam berbagai tradisi yang berkaitan dengan peran eskatologis Mahdi dan "Pembantunya" atau " Para menteri", tetapi yang ditegaskannya bahwa hal ini telah disadari oleh para wali (awliya') yang telah mencapai tingkat pemahaman spiritual ini, yang telah mencapai "akhir zaman". Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah kajian mengenai nilai dan makna spiritual dalam kitab ini dapat digunakan dalam dakwah, dan penerapannya dalam konteks keberagamaan umat Islam modern.

Abstract

A topic about women is always interesting to discuss, including their works, such as a novel. Her life journey has been portrayed in a novel in detail. This paper aims to describe the representation of a women's novel in social media, the factors leading to it, and the values within. It employed a qualitative descriptive method with a feminist literary approach that examined the text from the women's side as a reader. Data were taken from a novel published online in social media and then printed. It was Elena. This study showed that women's novels in social media tend to experience marginalization/discrimination, stereotype/negative labeling, subordination, and excessive burden for women. The dominating cultural construction, patriarchy ideology, and familial ideology are the influencing factors. Women's novel also contains messages about religious values, education values, and the values of patience and endurance. It suggested that further research compared it with other novels published in social media or other media to provide a more comprehensive and varied description.

Abstract

Calligraphy, one of the Islamic arts, has gotten a great attention in Muslim community. Basically, calligraphy is artistic writings (khat) taken from Al Quran and it is named based on the place:  Makki, Madani, Anbari and Baghdadi. By the time, names of (khat) shown, seems like Khufi, Mutsallats, Mudawwar, and some other types of writing.  Calligraphy  has  a big role in developing Islamic civilization in the world. The influence of Islamic power expantions, Arabitation, the role of the King and social elites give motivation and facilitate the development of calligraphy and influent the development of science especially in Abbasiyah period. After the Abbasiyah period, the existence of calligraphy still was existing, developing and showing the phenomenal calligrafers like Ibnu Muqlah. Kaligrafi, salah satu seni Islam, mendapat perhatian besar dalam komunitas Muslim. Pada dasarnya, kaligrafi adalah tulisan artistik (khat) yang diambil dari Al Quran dan dinamai berdasarkan tempat: Makki, Madani, Anbari dan Baghdadi. Pada saat itu, nama (khat) yang ditampilkan, sepertinya Khufi, Mutsallats, Mudawwar, dan beberapa jenis tulisan lainnya. Kaligrafi memiliki peran besar dalam mengembangkan peradaban Islam di dunia. Pengaruh ekspedisi kekuatan Islam, Arabitasi, peran Raja dan elit sosial memberikan motivasi dan memudahkan pengembangan kaligrafi dan mempengaruhi perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan khususnya pada masa Abbasiyah. Setelah masa Abbasiyah, keberadaan kaligrafi masih ada, berkembang dan menunjukkan kaligrafi fenomenal seperti Ibnu Muqlah.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the application of the jigsaw learning strategy and crossword puzzle in maharah qiraah learning, which includes three aspects: 1) planning, 2) implementation, and 3) evaluation. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive method. The data used is in the form of information sourced from students majoring in Arabic Language and Literature at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Data collection technique used observation, interviews and documentation. In analyzing the data using the Miles and Huberman models, namely: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results are: 1) planning maharah qiraah learning by applying the jigsaw strategy and crossword puzzle media in the form of preparing a lesson plan and preparing crossword puzzle questions related to social text material. 2) implementation of maharah qiraah learning by applying the jigsaw model and crossword puzzle media in the form of opening activities namely class conditioning and delivery of learning objectives, and the core activity is studying qiraah material with the jigsaw model with the steps: instructing the jigsaw model, forming the original group, continuing to form expert group, after which each expert group presented the results of the discussion related to the paragraphs that had been discussed, evaluation from the lecturer. 3) evaluation is carried out by distributing crossword puzzle worksheets to each student and then they are welcome to work on each one.

Abstract

Komunikasi menjadi komponen penting dalam bidang keperawatan sebab merupakan modal utama dalam proses pengimplementasian tindakan-tindakan keperawatan. Asisten perawat dituntut untuk memiliki keterampilan komunikasi yang baik secara terapeutik. Ada beberapa hal yang menjadi problem siswa saat melaksanakan komunikasi terapeutik. Siswa belum sepenuhnya memahami dengan baik komunikasi terapeutik sehingga dalam penerapannya belum maksimal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi terapeutik siswa setelah penerapan metode role playing. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 12 orang siswa kelas XII Asisten Keperawatan SMK Muhammadiyah Lumajang tahun pelajaran 2021/2022. Instrument yang digunakan adalah Ceklis Observasi – Demonstrasi/ Praktik Komunikasi Interpersonal. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan terdapat peningkatan tingkat kompetensi siswa dalam kemampuan komunikasi terapeutik secara signifikan. Kenaikan poin kompetensi komunikasi terapeutik siswa pada setiap aspeknya sebesar 22% hingga 50%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode role playing dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi terapeutik siswa kelas XII Asisten Keperawatan SMK Muhammadiyah Lumajang tahun pelajaran 2021/2022.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze gender bias in the lyrics of the song Talats Daqat using Judith Butler’s theory of gender performativity as a critical linguistic approach. Butler’s theory posits that gender identity is not essential but is constructed through repeated social and cultural practices, including language and music. This qualitative research employs content analysis of the song lyrics as primary data, supported by a literature review on gender bias and performativity theory. The findings reveal that the lyrics of Talats Daqat represent gender bias both symbolically and structurally, positioning men as active subjects and women as passive objects. The application of Butler’s theory confirms that these representations are forms of gender performativity that reproduce and sustain gender inequality through popular cultural narratives. This research contributes by expanding the study of gender bias in Arabic through the integration of Butler’s critical theory and recommends the importance of critical approaches in Arabic language education to foster awareness of gender justice issues.

Abstract

This article examines the representation of Islamic identity in the poetry of Shihabuddin al-Marjani as presented in Mustafād al-Akhbār, employing a balāghah-based approach grounded in ʿilm al-maʿānī. The study addresses the limited scholarly attention given to rhetorical meaning (maʿnā) as a key mechanism through which Islamic identity is articulated in classical Muslim poetry within marginal socio-political contexts. The objective of this research is to explain how linguistic structures and rhetorical strategies in al-Marjani’s poetry convey Islamic values within the socio-political setting of the Volga-Tatar region. Methodologically, the study applies qualitative textual analysis to two selected poems that represent two distinct dimensions of identity construction: Islam as a constructive intellectual force and Islam as a historically wounded identity. The analysis focuses on major balāghī devices, including khabariyyah and insyāʾiyyah sentence structures, iltifāt, muqābalah, and taqdīm, examining their semantic and pragmatic functions. The findings reveal that these rhetorical devices are strategically employed to produce ethical, emotional, and symbolic meanings that reinforce Islamic consciousness amid cultural and colonial crises. This study contributes to Arabic literary studies and Islamic intellectual history by demonstrating the significance of ʿilm al-maʿānī in uncovering the ideological and identity-forming roles of poetry, particularly in non-Arab Islamic contexts under colonial pressure.

Abstract

Previous studies using Vladimir Propp’s theory have largely concentrated on German and Indonesian folklore, leaving a significant research gap in the analysis of narrative structures and character roles within Arabic oral literature. This study aims to identify the 31 narrative functions and 7 character traits present in Yemeni folktale الملك و العرّاف. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method supported by library research to gather and process textual materials.. The result show that fourteen of Propp’s fourty-one narrative functions, spesifically α – Σ – γ – A – δ – D – T – Pr – Rs – H – W – Q – Q – W are present in the story. Only three of Propp’s seven-character categories appears in the narrative, namely the hero, villain, and helper. This research contributes to the field of Arabic narratology by providing a scientific record of Yemeni oral traditions and demonstrating that Propp’s structural patterns transcend cultural boundaries, thereby aiding in the preservation of Arab cultural heritage.
