Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui keanekaragaman dan kelimpahan jenis kupu-kupu (Lepidoptera; Rhopalocera) di sekitar Kampus Pinang Masak Universitas Jambi. Sampel  diambil dari 5 stasiun yang ditentukan secara purposif. Pada Masing-masing stasiun dibuat transek sepanjang 140 m, lalu dibuat 10 plot dengan ukuran 5x5 m dengan jarak antar plot yang sama (10 m). Parameter pengamatan meliputi keanekaragaman dan kelimpahan jenis. Selain itu diamati pula kondisi lingkungan yang meliputi intensitas cahaya, suhu udara dan kelembaban udara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan 143 individu dari 5 famili yaitu famili Papilionidae, Pieridae, Nymphalidae, Lycaenidae dan Hesperiidae dengan indeks keanekaragaman jenis yaitu 2,153. Hasil perhitungan kelimpahan jenis menunjukkan banyak jenis yang ditemukan dengan kelimpahan yang rendah yaitu dengan nilai kelimpahan jenis 0,006 (1 individu). Adapun jenis kupu-kupu yang ditemukan melimpah adalah jenis Junonia orithya dengan nilai kelimpahan jenis 0,160  (23 individu), diikuti oleh Acraea terpsicore dengan nilai kelimpahan jenis 0,132(19 individu) dan Eurema hecabe dengan nilai kelimpahan jenis 0,118 (17 individu). Kondisi lingkungan yaitu intensitas cahaya (16780-92170 Lux), suhu udara (31,6-34,2 oC) dan kelembaban udara (63,8-80,8%). Dari hasil penelitian, keanekaragaman jenis kupu-kupu (Lepidoptera; Rhopalocera) di sekitar Kampus Pinang Masak Universitas Jambi menunjukkan tingkat yang sedang dengan nilai berkisar antara 1,5-3,5. Disarankan untuk dapat dilakukan penelitian sejenis dengan lokasi yang lebih luas, dan dengan berbagai kondisi musim sehingga mendapatkan hasil yang lebih luas.   Kata kunci: kupu-kupu, keanekaragaman, kelimpahan, Universitas Jambi.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan modul pembelajaran berbasis kontekstual pada materi ekosistem, untuk mengetahui cara pengembangan modul, serta untuk mengetahui tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap modul pembelajaran berbasis kontekstual pada materi ekosistem. Pengembangan ini mengikuti model 4D. Validasi desain modul oleh ahli desain sebanyak 2 tahapsementara validasi modul oleh ahli materi sebanyak 3 tahap.Selain itu, diperoleh skor penilaian guru saat uji coba adalah sebesar 82 dengan persentase 82% kategori sangat baik. Di sisi lain respon siswa perorangan terhadap modul diperoleh skor sebesar 50,6 dengan persentase 84,3% dengan kategori sangat baik. Dan respon siswa kelompok kecil terhadap modul diperoleh skor sebesar 52,8 dengan persentase 88% kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan proses dari validasi ahli hingga uji coba perorangan dan kelompok kecil pada siswa di SMP Al-Falah Kota Jambi, secara keseluruhan modul pembelajaran berbasis kontekstual ini dikategorikan sangat baik untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Practical performance assessment is an important part of the learning process, but several obstacles are found in its implementation. The objectives of this study are (1) to develop constructivism-based performance assessment instruments for class VII Yunior High School in Life Organization subject, (2) to describe aspects that need to be made in constructivism-based practical performance assessment instruments, and (3) to describe teacher responses in using constructivism-based practical performance assessment instruments. This research is a development research using a 4D model, the stages are defining, design, development and distribution. The trial subjects in this study consisted of 10 students for small group trials and 40 students for large group trials. The indicators used in the study include aspects related to the development of constructivist life-based practicum assessment instruments. Instrument used was a questionnaire to reveal the response of teachers and students to practical performance assessment instruments. The results of the data analysis showed that the content feasibility value is 86.31% at the intervals of 48.33 which means it is feasible to use. Most students gave a positive response to the assessment sheet given (96.67%), a small portion gave a negative response (33.3%). Because the average positive response of students is more than 75%, the performance assessment instrument is considered feasible to be applied.

Abstract

Laboratory is a facility to support the activities of learning in school, every high school should has a good laboratory management to support biology learning activities. This study aimed to analyze the biology laboratory management that has been done by the senior high school laboratory manager in the district of Batanghari in Jambi province. The research is descriptive study; the research subjects are research laboratory heads and teachers of biology. The laboratory management analysis includes aspects of planning, organizing, structuring, administering, and securing. In this study the data obtained from observation, questionnaire, interview, and documentation. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively. Overall, two schools are categorized as excellence (SMAN A; 89.2 % and SMAN B; 87.9%); two schools are in very good category (SMAN C; 78.2% and SMAN D; 78.0%); and two schools are in the last category (enough category) includes SMAN E (66.8%) and SMAN F (61.5%). Moreover some aspect of biology laboratory management in senior high schools are not well managed yet. Based on the results it is suggested that laboratory managers should improve the laboratory facilities as well as their competencies in managing the laboratory. Moreover, senior high schools should employ laboratory technicians and laboran to assist the task of laboratory heads and teachers to produce a more effective laboratory management

Abstract

A person's character influences his habits. This can be seen from the habits of the people in the Griya Aur Duri Indah Housing in the City of Jambi in handling household waste; some people do not know how to handle household waste properly. This development research aims to produce products in the form of character-based household waste management comics for the community in the Griya Aur Duri Indah Housing in Jambi City, and to asses its feasibility and community responses to the comics produced. The development employs the Borg and Gall development model. This development research resulted in a product in the form of a character-based household waste management comic for the community at the Griya Aur Duri Indah Housing in Jambi City. Media validator considers the product in the valid category, whereas material validator considered the product as very valid. The results of trials in small groups and large group trials obtained values ​​with very good categories. Based on the results it can be concluded that the character-based household waste management comics for the community in the Griya Aur Duri Indah Housing in Jambi City can foster good community character related to waste management and can be implemented to the community.

Abstract

Some factors affect student's low understanding of learning material such as the rare use of instructional media as well as the lack of alternative learning resources. Therefore, we carried out research and development of e-Modules based on experiential learning on environmental pollution material for junior high school. The research used ADDIE framework, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study covers the subject of water, air, and soil pollution. The theoretic feasibility of the e-Modules obtained through validation by the material and media validators. The validations were done twice and reach a value of 86.15% for the material aspect and 85.71% for the media aspect (both are in the very valid category). The practical feasibility of the e-Modules was measured through the perception response of educators (85.38%), in one-on-one trials (85%), small group trials (84.16%), and large group trials at SMPN 30 Merangin and SMPN 3 Kota Jambi (85.76% and 85.12% respectively). All result of the questionnaire was in the excellent category. The result of a large group trial obtained a Cohen's Kappa coefficient of 0.499 with a significant value of 0.000. Based on Kappa interpretation table, the value of 0.41 to 0.60 (a quite strong category). The e-Module based on experiential learning on environmental pollution material is appropriate for junior high school teaching material.

Abstract

Vibration and wave material is one of the science materials that are considered difficult; the learning outcome of most students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jambi City are still below the minimum requirement (65). This study aims to determine the differences in learning outcomes and implement discovery learning models on student learning outcomes in vibration and wave material. The research employed a pre-experimental design through pretest-posttest-control-design, carried out at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jambi City from February 17 to March 16, 2020. The sample selection was carried out using a simple random sampling technique. The average student learning outcomes in the control class's cognitive domain was 54,33, while the experimental class was 70,19. In the realm of attitudes, the average student learning outcomes in the control class was 73,58, while in the experimental class was 80. The independent-sample t-test for cognitive domain learning outcomes was 4,512 (> t table 2.063) and in the attitude domain was 2, 57 (> t table 2,063). Paired sample t score of learning outcomes in the cognitive domain was 1,259 (<t table 1,708), and in the realm of attitudes, was 0,0004 (<t table 1,708). It can be concluded that there are differences in student learning outcomes using discovery learning models, both in the cognitive and attitudinal domains.

Abstract

The research about the glochidia Anodonta woodiana Lea viability on host fishes has been conducted in the Laboratory of Zoology Biology Department Mathematic and Science Faculty Sriwijaya University from July – November 2004. The research applied completely randomized design with 5 treatments of host fish (Cyprinus carpio, Pristolepis fasciatus, Oreochromis niloticus, Trichogaster pectoralis and Clarias gariepinus) with 6 replications. The results of the research showed that the use of fishes host has influenced the glochidia viability. The highest glochidia viability was in Trichogaster pectoralis there was a great diffoence compared to other host fish. This result showed that Trichogaster pectoralis was the most effective host fish of Anodonta woodiana glochidia.

Abstract

Study mi fish diversity was conducted from September 2002 until February 2003. The aim Of study is to determine fish species living in River Enim. Survey method and purposive random sampling were used. Fish sampling using some equipments, such as cast net, drift gillnet. hook and line, and bamboo trap. The result indicated that there were 28 species in 11 families, and four orders. Family Cyprmidae has the most numerous fish (14 species), followed by Cobitidae (4 species) and Balitoridae (2 species). The other families have one species only.

Abstract

The aim of this study was identify fish species caught by fishermen in the fish auction site (FAS) and compare with fish species in the fish market of Kuala Tungkal, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, Jambi. Fish samples were collected from FAS and fish market of Kuala Tungkal from July to August 2014. Fish identification was done according to morphome-tric characteristics of fish speciemens using fish identification books. A total of 49 fish species belonging to 32 families and 11 orders were identified along the study period. The number of fish species found in TPI and fish markets was dif-ferent. Thirty-two fish species were recognized in FSA and 13 species of which were not found in the fish market. Of the 36 fish species found in the fish market, 17 fish were not collected in the FSA. A total of 19 fish species fish were found in both locations. It is necessary to conduct a similar research in different seasons to obtain a comprehensive in-formation about fish species caught in the waters around Tanjung Jabung Barat, Jambi.uct research in a longer period of time. Thus it is hoped that more fish species may be found only in certainseasons. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis ikan yang tertangkap oleh nelayan dan dilelang di Tempat Pelelangan Ikan (TPI) serta membandingkannya dengan hasil tangkapan nelayan yang ada di pasar ikan Kuala Tungkal. Sampel ikan diambil dari hasil tangkapan nelayan yang akan dilelang di TPI dan pasar ikan Kuala Tungka dari Juli sampai Agustus 2014. Proses identifikasi dilakukan dengan membandingkan karakteristik morfologi spesimen dengan menggunakan buku identifikasi ikan. Teridentifikasi sebanyak 49 jenis ikan dari 32 famili dan 12 ordo selama peneli-tian. Ada perbedaan jumlah jenis ikan yang dikoleksi antara TPI dengan pasar ikan. Sebanyak 32 spesies ikan teriden-tifikasi di TPI dan 13 spesies diantaranya tidak ditemukan di pasar ikan. Dari 36 spesies ikan yang ditemukan di pasar ikan, 17 ikan tidak ditemukan di TPI. Sebanyak 19 jenis ikan ditemukan di kedua lokasi. Perlu dilakukan penelitian serupa pada musim yang berbeda untuk mendapatkan informasi yang utuh mengenai jenis-jenis ikan yang tertangkap di perairan sekitar Tanjung Jabung Barat, Jambi.
