Abstract

Anemia is defined as a decrease in haemoglobin concentration and the number of erythrocytes. One source of iron in vegetable is the papaya leaf. This study aimed to determine the number of erythrocytes and hemoglobin levels after the application of Carica papaya leaf on mice through the sodium nitrite induction. The research design used was Randomized Design Complete by using five treatments with five repetitions on each treatment. The data measured in this study was number of erythrocytes and hemoglobin levels of rats before being given sodium nitrite, after being given sodium nitrite and after being given papaya leaf juice. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by using variance analysis (ANOVA), and the data that significantly different was then analyzed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that papaya leaf juice significantly affected the increase of erythrocyte number and hemoglobin level. The concentration that gives the best effect in increasing the number of erythrocytes is 50% papaya leaf juice concentration and 25% papaya leaf juice concentration which gives the best effect in increasing the hemoglobin content. Further, the findings can be used as baseline information for further scientific investigation for using papaya leaf as an alternative medicine in curing anemia disease and analyzing phytochemical, pharmaceutical and other biological activities on other plant or vegetable and to conducted further research by using female mice and pregnant female mice.

Abstract

Socio scientific issues deals with learning materials related to controversial issues that develop along with the development of scientific and technological advances.This study aims to compare the PjBL learning model with the STEM PjBL learning model based on socio scientific issues in each class in the biology education study program in improving students' scientific literacy. Quantitative research methods are associative and comparative types. This study took research samples from the research population, namely students in the 7th semester of the biology education study program as many as 60 samples. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Data collection used a student response questionnaire to the PjBL learning model and a scientific literacy questionnaire. The results of the t test found that there were differences in the responses of regular students A and regular B to the PjBL learning model and the STEM project based learning innovation based on SSI learning model. The results of the correlation test found that there was a significant relationship between the responses of regular B semester 7 biology education students to the PjBL model variables and students' scientific literacy

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to develop a product that form of a collection gastropods shell preserved that can be used as a learning media both theoretical and practical work at class x senior high school. The product is a collection of learning media preserved shell of gastropod which has three parts, namely the wardrobe collection, collection boxes and shelves collection. This type of research is ADDIE development model. The results showed the revised product media experts, subject matter experts and trial of respondents is as follows. Media validation is performed three times.  At the first validation obtained a percentage of 50.7% and categorized not good. The second validation obtained percentage of 65.3% and is average, and the third validation obtained a percentage of 76% categorized as good and media can be used to trial. Then, validation matter is done four times. At the first validation obtained a percentage of 29.3% and classified is not very good. At the second validation obtained a percentage of 65.3% and is average. At the third validation obtained a percentage of 82.7% and good categorized. At the fourth validation obtained by percentage of 88% categorized as very good. After validated and revisions, the product tested on small groups and obtained the students' response was 91% with a very good category. Learning media of collection gastropods shell preserved feasible for use in the learning process.   Key word:  media learning , a collection of gastropod shells preserved development

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk berupa Majalah Biologi Sebagai Media Pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Subjek ujicoba dalam penelitian ini adalah 12 orang siswa untuk ujicoba kelompok kecil. Instrumen pengumpulan data diperoleh dari angket validasi ahli media pembelajaran, validasi materi, dan ujicoba kelompok kecil. Jenis data dalam penellitian ini adalah kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari angket yang berisi tentang saran untuk perbaikan media sedangkan data kuantitatif diperoleh dari instrument angket tertutup. Hasil pengembangan produk yang sudah dikembangkan divallidasi oleh ahli media dengan persentase 78,75% dengan kategori baik dilakukan 3 kali revisi sedangkan hasil validasi ahli materi diperoleh persentase 82,5% dengan kategori sangat baik dengan 2 kali revisi. Pada ujicoba kelompok kecil dilaksanakan kepada siswa kelas X SMA N 7 Kota Jambi yang memperoleh tanggapan 81,80% yang tergolong kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa majalah biologi sebagai media pembelajaran pada pokok bahasan protista ini layak digunakan pada proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

One of the teacher's efforts for students to play an active role in learning is to choose media that can practice the skills of conducting experiments, improve critical thinking skills so that students can develop the concept of science. This research is a development research with ADDIE development model. LKPD products are tested before being validated by media experts and material experts. The results of media validation obtained a percentage value of 98.75% with a very good category, and material validation obtained a percentage value of 90.00% with a very good category. The results of small group trials and large group trials were 93.05% and 86.25%, respectively, both included in the excellent category. Furthermore, for the perception of teachers obtained a percentage value of 97.72% with a very good category. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that the inquiry-based LKPD was guided on the subject of the classification of living thing for Seventh grade of Yunior High School suitable for use in learning. Abstrak. Salah satu upaya guru agar peserta didik berperan aktif dalam pembelajaran adalah dengan memilih media yang dapat melatih keterampilan melakukan eksperimen, meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis sehingga peserta didik dapat mengembangkan konsep IPA. Salah satunya adalah dengan menggunakan media LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada pokok bahasan klasifikasi mahluk hidup, juga untuk mengetahui persepsi peserta didik dan guru terhadap LKPD yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Produk LKPD sebelum diujicobakan terlebih dahulu divalidasi oleh ahli media dan ahli materi. Hasil validasi media diperoleh nilai persentase 98,75% dengan katagori sangat baik,dan validasi materi diperoleh nilai persentase 90,00% dengan katagori sangat baik. Hasil uji coba kelompok kecil dan uji coba kelompok besar secara berurutan adalah 93,05% dan 86,25%, keduanya termasuk dalam katagori sangat baik. Selanjutnya untuk persepsi guru diperolah nilai persentase 97,72% dengan katagori sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada pokok bahasan klasifikasi mahluk hidup untuk kelas VII SMP layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pademi Covid-19 has disturbed the learning process in a face-to-face manner. Therefore online learning solutions need to be sought as an answer to these problems. The aim of the study was to obtain an overview of the implementation of online learning in the Biology Education Study Program of the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) of Jambi University as an effort to suppress the spread of covid-19 in the campus environment. Research subjects were students of Biology Education Study Program. Data collected by telephone interview. Data analysis was performed using the interactive analysis technique of Miles & Huberman. The results showed that: (1) students already have the basic facilities needed to take part in online learning; (2) online learning has flexibility in its implementation and is able to encourage the emergence of learning independence and motivation to be more active in learning; and (3) distance learning encourages the emergence of social distancing behavior and minimizes the emergence of student crowds so that it is deemed able to reduce the potential for the spread of Covid-19 in the campus environment. Abstrak. Pademi covid-19 telah mengganggu proses pembelajaran secara konvensional. Maka diperlukan solusi untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut. Pembelajaran secara daring adalah salah satu alternatif yang dapat mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring di Prodi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Jambi sebagai upaya menekan penyebaran covid-19 di Perguruan Tinggi. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Biologi. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara melalui zoom cloud meeting. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif Miles & Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) mahasiswa telah memiliki fasilitas-fasilitas dasar yang dibutuhkan untuk mengikuti pembelajaran daring; (2) pembelajaran daring memiliki fleksibilitas dalam pelaksanaannya dan mampu mendorong munculnya kemandirian belajar dan motivasi untuk lebih aktif dalam belajar; dan (3) pembelajaran jarak jauh mendorong munculnya perilaku social distancing dan meminimalisir munculnya keramaian mahasiswa sehingga dianggap dapat mengurangi potensi penyebaran Covid-19 di lingkungan kampus. Lemahnya pengawasan terhadap mahasiswa, kurang kuatnya sinyal di daerah pelosok, dan mahalnya biaya kuota adalah tantangan tersendiri dalam pembelajaran daring.

Abstract

Learning resources play an important role in the learning process. The benefits of learning resources are as a support for learning activities, adding and expanding the presentation of material that might not be summarized in the textbooks. Most of the learning resources used by students today are still in unattractive form. The available learning resources also do not explain examples of animals that can be found around (contextual). Also, the difficulty of getting learning resources for Animalia materials that are per the learning objectives is an obstacle that causes the unavailability of Animalia learning resources. Therefore, innovation is needed to develop a learning resource that is suitable for the learning objectives. This development was done due to a lack of learning resources with the elaboration of animals found in surrounding (Contextual). This development study aimed to design a booklet of butterfly biodiversity in Kerinci regency and its surroundings as a learning resource in Chapter Animalia Class X Senior High School, to determine teachers' and students' responses. The development model used in this study was the ADDIE model. ADDIE model consists of 5 steps: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The booklet was validated by media experts and material experts in the very appropriate category. The response from the teachers to the booklet was good. The response from the students to the booklet in a small group trial and large group trials was very good. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that booklet of butterfly biodiversity in Kerinci regency and its surroundings is appropriate for use by high school grade X students as learning resources for Animalia chapter.  Abstrak. Sumber belajar berperan penting dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Beberapa manfaat sumber belajar yaitu sebagai penunjang kegiatan pembelajaran, menambah dan memperluas sajian materi yang mungkin tidak terangkum didalam buku paket. Sebagian besar sumber belajar yang digunakan siswa saat ini masih dalam bentuk yang kurang menarik. Sumber belajar yang tersedia juga tidak menjelaskan contoh-contoh hewan yang dapat ditemui disekitar (kontekstual). Selain itu, sulitnya mendapatkan sumber belajar materi Animalia yang sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran menjadi kendala yang menyebabkan tidak tersedianya sumber belajar materi Animalia di sekolah. Sehingga, diperlukan suatu inovasi untuk mengembangkan suatu sumber belajar yang sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian pengembangan ini adalah untuk menghasilkan  booklet keanekaragaman kupu-kupu di Kabupaten Kerinci dan sekitarnya sebagai sumber belajar pada materi Animalia kelas X SMA, mengetahui respon guru dan respon siswa terhadap booklet yang dikembangkan. Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model ADDIE. Model ADDIE terdiri dari 5 tahapan yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation. Booklet divalidasi oleh ahli media dan ahli materi dengan perolehan hasil sangat layak. Respon guru terhadap booklet pada kategori baik. Respon siswa terhadap booklet pada ujicoba kelompok kecil dan kelompok besar pada kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa booklet keanekaragaman kupu-kupu di Kabupaten Kerinci dan sekitarnya layak digunakan siswa kelas X SMA sebagai sumber belajar materi Animalia.

Abstract

Performance appraisal is an appraisal based on observations of assessments of student activities as they occur. Assessment is done with the performance, behavior or interaction of students. The development of performance assessment instruments (Performent Assessment) is expected to actively involve students in the learning process. The students will certainly feel motivated in showing their performance, because so far their performance has rarely been assessed, so that their minds are no longer just what needs to be learned, but have improved on what needs to be done. Type This study uses research and development (Research and Development), because it matches the objectives to be achieved. While the research development model chosen is the ADDIE model. Expert validation is carried out by the learning design validator, and the material validator. Practitioner validation is carried out by high school biology teachers. The research subjects were students of SMA N 5 Muaro Jambi class XI IPA, with a total of 6 people for small group trials and 20 people for large group trials. The results of the analysis were obtained that the instruments developed were very helpful for teachers in making assessments when practicum and instruments were suitable for use. Abstrak. Penelitian ini dilatar belakang pentingnya penilaian saat praktikum, biasanya penilaian dilakukan hanya pada laporan paktikum saja, bukan pada setiap proses yang terjadi saat praktikum. Tujuan penelitian mengetahui tahapan pengembangan instrumen penilaian kinerja praktikum pada materi sel sebagai unit terkecil kehidupan. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development), Sedangkan Model  pengembangan yang digunakan mengadopsi model ADDIE dengan lima tahapan, yaitu: Analisisa (Analysis), Perancangan (Design), Pengembangan (Development), Implementasi (Implementasi), dan Evaluasi (Evaluate). Data kualitatif diperoleh dari saran-saran validator ahli desain instrumen dan ahli materi. Hasil pengembangan validasi ahli desain instrumen diperoleh dengan skor akhir 73,3% dengan kategori layak. Sedangkan validasi ahli materi diperoleh skor 74,7% dengan kategori layak,  dan respon guru sebagai pengguna instrumen diperoleh skor 80% dengan kategori baik, sehingga dapat disimpulkan instrumen penilaian kinerja praktikum pada materi sel sebagai unit terkecil kehidupan layak untuk digunakan.

Abstract

The use of Biology learning media that students can use to study fish morphological characters is still small. This is due to the limited available learning media. One way to overcome this problem is to use learning resources in the form of an Android-based fish encyclopedia. The purpose of this study was to generate, determine the feasibility, and effectiveness of the use of the Android-based Encyclopedia of Fish Diversity in Lake Kerinci on student learning outcomes and conservation attitudes. The research method used is development with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Disgn, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Encyclopedia of Fish Diversity in Lake Kerinci based on Android was validated by media experts with the final percentage acquisition of 96.2% for very good categories and material experts with a final percentage of 85.2% for very good categories. Thus the encyclopedia product is said to be feasible. This product was then tried out at SMAN 6 Kerinci, the trial was carried out on 2 biology subject teachers, a small group consisting of 9 students, in a large group consisting of 30 students. The test results on teachers get a percentage of 84.37%. The results of the trial in the small group get a percentage of 89.02% which is included in the very good category. In the large group trial, the percentage of 87.96% was included in the very good category. The use of an Android-based encyclopedia of fish diversity in Lake Kerinci effectively improves student learning outcomes. Abstrak. Penggunaan media pembelajaran Biologi yang dapat digunakan siswa untuk mempelajari karakter morfologi ikan masih sedikit. Hal ini dikarenakan terbatasnya media pembelajaran yang tersedia. Salah satu cara mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan penggunaan sumber belajar berupa ensiklopedia ikan berbasis Android. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan, mengetahui kelayakan, dan efektifitas penggunaan Ensiklopedia Keanekaragaman Ikan di Danau Kerinci berbasis Android terhadap hasil belajar dan sikap konservasi siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pengembangan dengan model ADDIE (Analys, Disgn, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Ensiklopedia Keanekaragaman Ikan di Danau Kerinci Berbasis Android divalidasi oleh ahli media dengan perolehan persentase akhir 96,2% kategori sangat baik dan ahli materi dengan persentase akhir 85,2% kategori sangat baik. Dengan demikian produk ensiklopedia dikatakan layak. Produk ini kemudian di ujicobakan di SMAN 6 Kerinci, ujicoba dilakukan pada 2 orang guru mata pelajaran biologi, kelompok kecil, terdiri dari 9 orang siswa, pada kelompok besar terdiri dari 30 orang siswa. Hasil ujicoba pada guru mendapatkan persentase 84,37%. Hasil ujicoba pada kelompok kecil mendapatkan persentase 89,02% yang termasuk kategori sangat baik. Pada ujicoba kelompok besar mendapatkan persentase 87,96% termasuk kategori sangat baik. Penggunaan ensiklopedia keanekaragaman ikan di danau Kerinci berbasis Android efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.
