Abstract

Pengelolaan laboratorium tidak dapat dipisahkan dari kegiatan laboratorium sehari-hari. Aspek pengelolaan laboratorium merupakan satu kesatuan yang utuh antara sumber daya manusia, bahan dan peralatan laboratorium, dan staf profesional yang terampil. Suatu peralatan yang canggih dan staf yang profesional belum tentu dapat berfungsidengan baik apabila tidak didukung dengan adanya pengelolaan laboratorium yang baik pula. Pada dasarnya pengelolaan laboratorium adalah tanggung jawab bersama baik pengelola maupun pengguna. Para pengelola laboratorium hendaknya memiliki pemahaman dan keterampilan kerja di laboratorium, bekerja sesuai tugas dan tanggung jawabnya, dan mengikuti peraturan. Permasalahan yang ditemukan di sekolah mitra antara lain: 1) Pengelolaan laboratorium belum terlaksana dengan baik, 2) Laboratorium tidak dimanfaatkan sama sekali untuk praktikum dalam 3 tahun terakhir, 3) pembelajaran berbasis praktikum di laboratorium tidak terlaksana karena peralatan, bahan, sarana/prasarana laboratorium kurang memadai 4) Kurangnya pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan keterampilan guru dalam mengelola laboratorium, 5) kurang terampilnya guru-guru dalam menyajikan pembelajaran berbasis praktikum, 6) Minimnya pelatihan pengelolaan laboratorium bagi guru di sekolah mitra. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah melalui: 1) pelatihan dan pendampingan tentang pengelolaan laboratorium baik bagi guru maupun kepala laboratorium, 2) menggalakkan kembali pemanfaatan laboratorium melalui praktikum dan pembenahan sarana prasarana di laboratorium, 3)Pemberian bantuan alat dan bahan serta pendampingan pelaksanaan beberapa materi praktikum bagi guru, 4) pelatihan dan pendampingan peningkatan pengetahuan, pemahaman dan keterampilan bagi guru dalam mengelola laboratorium, 5) Meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam melaksanakan praktikum melalui demonstrasi dan pendampingan manajemen pelaksanaan praktikum, penggunaan alat dan bahan yang diperlukan, 6) Menawarkan pelatihan yang berkelanjutan dan mengevaluasi pelatihan yang sudah dilaksanakan sehingga diketahui kekurangan serta kendala yang harus diatasi untuk segera dicari pemecahannya. Pelaksanaan pengabdian pada masyarakat dimulai dari survei lokasi, diskusi dengan Kepala MAN 3 M. Jambi dan guru untuk menemukan masalah dan mencari solusi dalam pemecahan masalah, melakukan sosialisasi, ceramah/penyuluhan, pendampingan dan pelatihan keterampilan terkait pengelolaan laboratorium, demontrasi praktikum kepada guru-guru yang secara kooperatifberpartisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan. Setelah kegiatan, guru menyampaikan laporan, tim melakukan monitoring dan evaluasi kegiatan pelaksanaan pelatihan, pemberian sertifikat bagi guru-guru peserta pelatihan yang aktif dan kompeten, disertai dokumentasi foto dan video kegiatan PPM pada guru-guru di sekolah mitra.

Abstract

This study modified current bentonite with zinc oxide (ZnO) and investigated the performance of phenol adsorption. The material bentonite-ZnO was successfully synthesized and characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX), and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR). The adsorption performance was determined by adsorption equilibrium, kinetics, and thermodynamic parameters. The adsorption, kinetic, and thermodynamic parameters were compared alternatively. The phenol adsorption capacity was obtained from Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm models, which for bentonite-ZnO was fit with both isotherm models (Langmuir R2 = 0,997 and Freundlich R2 = 0,9515) and was favorable than activated bentonite (n value bentonite-ZnO = 2.389; activated bentonite = 0,898). A kinetic model was tested with pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, and intraparticle diffusion models which bentonite-ZnO and activated bentonite fit in the pseudo-second-order with an excellent agreement (R2 = 0,999). Several thermodynamic parameters such as enthalpy, Gibbs free energy, and bentonite-ZnO have an entropy more than zero (ΔS = 0.008 J/molK), which demonstrated the feasibility and spontaneity (ΔG < 0) and endothermic nature (ΔH = 3,056 kJ/mol) of the phenol adsorption process. Several thermodynamic parameters such as enthalpy, Gibbs free energy, and bentonite-ZnO have an entropy more than zero (ΔS = 0.008 J/molK), which demonstrated the feasibility and spontaneity (ΔG < 0) and endothermic nature (ΔH = 3,056 kJ/mol) of the phenol adsorption process. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of students' critical thinking skills by using interactive modules integrated with problem-based learning on the excretory system material. The research method used pra experimental research design with a One-Shot Case Study. The data collection instrument was critical thinking ability test questions analyzed using SPSS version 27 software. The results showed a significant value for the T-test of 0.000 (<0.05), with an average N-gain score of 0.63, meaning there was a significant difference. The results of critical thinking abilities before and after using the PBL integrated interactive e-module with a significant increase of 0.63 (medium). So it is concluded that the PBL integrated interactive e-module is feasible, practical, and effective for improving students' critical thinking skills in studying biology on excretory system material.

Abstract

The development of science and technology in Indonesia encourages educational innovation, including the use of technology in learning according to the Independent Curriculum. The printed module used is less effective in visualizing biological processes. This research aims to develop learning media, namely an interactive e-module based on a case study of blood circulation system material, then analyzing the suitability of the media, analyzing teacher and student perceptions of the product that has been developed. This research is development research (Research and Development) using the ADDIE development model which consists of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluation. The types of data for this research are qualitative and quantitative. The data collection instruments used were validation questionnaires from material experts and media experts to determine the suitability of the product, teacher and student perception questionnaires which were distributed to small groups of 6 students and large groups of 27 students. The research results show that case study-based interactive e-modules that have gone through the material validation stage obtained a percentage of 91.6% in the "very feasible" category, while the media validation stage obtained a percentage of 96.25% in the "very feasible" category. The results of the biology teacher's perception obtained a percentage of 91.25%, including in the "very good" category. The perception results of small group trials were 92.29% in the "good" category and large group trials were 93.05% in the "very good" category. So it is concluded that the development of an interactive e-module based on case studies is feasible, practical and effective for use in teaching biology regarding the blood circulation system.

Abstract

Molecular genetics material is considered difficult and abstract, so it often causes misconceptions in understanding the material. The use of effective teaching materials and learning media can support learning on molecular genetics material. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using teaching materials and learning media to improve students' understanding of molecular genetics material in high school. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the systematic literature review (SLR) method. Data sources were obtained through a literature review by reviewing various publications from previous journals obtained from Google Scholar and Publish or Perish 8 which areaccredited at least sinta 4. The results show that teaching materials in the form of E-LKPD are more effective to use, as seen from the higher average results of validation and feasibility testing, namely 4.19 and 96.85%. Learning media that is more effective to use is interactive multimedia in the form of educational games. This can be seen from the higher pretest and posttest results compared to other media, namely the pretestresults of 9.7% and post-test results of 93.5%. The pretest and posttest results received an increase of 83.8%. The use of effective and interesting teaching materials and learning media can improve the understanding of molecular genetics material in high school.

Abstract

Luka bakar adalah luka yang terjadi dijaringan kulit yang disebabkan oleh panas atau terkena radiasi,radioaktivitas, listrik, sentuhan atau kontak dengan bahan kimia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperiment, dimana penelitian ini menguji pengaruh dari pemberian salep ekstrak daun sirih merah terhadap kecepatan penyembuhan luka bakar pada hewan mamalia mencit. Penelitian ini terbagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelompok perlakukan yang diberi salep ekstrak daun sirih merah dan kelompok kontrol yang diberi dengan salep bioplacenton. Data dari hasil penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis data deskriptif, adapun hasil penelitian yang dilakukan selama delapan hari didapatkan bahwa adanya pengaruh pemberian salep ekstrak daun sirih merah terhadap kecepatan penyembuhan luka, dimana luka pada mencit kelompok perlakuan terlihat mengering dan mulaiterbentuknya jaringan kulit yang baru sedangkan untuk luka pada kelompok kontrol yang diberi bioplacenton luka terlihat masih belum kering secara sempurna dibandingkan dengan kelompok salep ekstrak daun sirih merah.

Abstract

This study aims as a teaching and learning activity that utilizes a network or internet connection so that communication is established between teachers and students without direct contact. Problems faced in online learning include: weak signal, the application used is sometimes problematic, and many more problems that will be caused in online learning. The results of the observations made by the researchers did the learning motivation of students in biology subjects was still very low, there were some students who were sometimes not enthusiastic in learning so that the learning outcomes obtained were still limited to the KKM value, this can be seen from the average test scores during learning Biology during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of online learning on students' learning motivation and to determine the effect of online learning on students' cognitive learning outcomes. This type of quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were students of class XI Science Department at SMA Negeri 3 Tanjung Jabung Timur. The results of this study are (1) on the motion system material in humans, students' learning motivation with online learning falls into the good category on the indicators of material delivery by using links and using different methods and applications; (2) cognitive learning outcomes in online learning during the pandemic are not much different when compared to face-to-face learning. Although in practice there are deficiencies found, but there is no other choice but to optimize online learning, because in current conditions only technology can be a bridge in transferring knowledge from teachers to students.

Abstract

Background: This research was conducted with the aim of observing and obtaining information about fruit fly species in the home area of Kenali Asam, Jambi. Methods: Research was carried out using experimental methods and a microscope. The trapping medium uses mango and papaya that have been left to rot. Put the two types of fruit in a container and wait for the fruit flies to get inside. Results: The results of the study show that there is diversity in fruit fly species in the home area of Kenali Asam, Jambi. Conclusion: This research emphasizes the importance of understanding how to make fruit fly stock media (rejuvenation media) that is appropriate and remains hygienic. This research also requires further studies to explore factors that can influence the development of fruit flies and their distribution in various environments

Abstract

Luka sayat merupakan luka dengan tepi lurus dan beraturan yang umumnya diobati menggunakan antiseptik povidone iodine 10%. Namun, penggunaan jangka panjang bahan tersebut dapat menimbulkan efek samping seperti reaksi alergi, toksik fibroblas kulit, serta iritasi selama proses penyembuhan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan bahan alternatif penyembuh luka seperti dengan menggunakan tanaman obat seperti daun tapak dara (Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh cara penyiapan daun tapak dara terhadap panjang dan waktu penyembuhan luka sayat pada mencit (Mus musculus L). Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium FKIP Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Jambi dengan rancangan acak lengkap, terdiri atas tiga perlakuan dan enam ulangan. Perlakuan meliputi pemberian povidone iodine 10% (P1), tumbukan daun tapak dara (P2), dan air rebusan daun tapak dara (P3). Parameter yang diamati adalah pengurangan panjang luka dan waktu sembuh selama dua puluh satu hari. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA (Analysis of variant) dilanjutkan uji LSD (Least Significant Difference) untuk melihat perbedaan yang signifikan pada masing-masing perlakuan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari cara penyiapan daun tapak dara terhadap penyembuhan luka sayat. Perlakuan air rebusan daun tapak dara (P3) memberikan hasil panjang luka paling kecil yaitu 2,51 mm dengan waktu sembuh 11 hari, diikuti oleh tumbukan daun tapak dara(P2) dengan panjang luka 3,04 mm dan waktu sembuh 12 hari. Hasil penelitian ini dikembangkan menjadi media video pembelajaran pada mata kuliah fisiologi hewan untuk membantu mahasiswa memahami mekanisme pemulihan dari luka secara kontekstual dan aplikatif melalui visualisasi proses penyembuhan luka secara langsung.

Abstract

Sistem saraf merupakan biologi yang kompleks karena materinya masih abstrak. Metode yang digunakan guru adalah metode ceramah yang menyebabkan siswa kesulitan dalam memahami materi. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, diperlukan e-Module berbasis studi kasus yang dapat memberikan siswa kasus-kasus yang berkaitan dengan materi dan menjadi solusi atas kesulitan siswa terkait minimnya pembelajaran di kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-Module berbasis studi kasus pada materi sistem saraf dan menganalisis kelayakan produk yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement dan Evaluation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-Module yang dikembangkan memperoleh presentase sebesar 91,66% dengan kategori “sangat layak” pada validasi materi. Pada tahap validasi media diperoleh nilai presentase sebesar 94,11% dengan kategori “sangat layak”. Persepsi guru biologi terhadap kualitas produk yang dikembangkan memperoleh presentase sebesar 91,17% dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Uji coba kelompok kecil dengan siswa memperoleh persentase sebesar 95,20% dengan kategori “sangat baik” dan uji coba kelompok besar memperoleh persentase sebesar 94,68% dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan layak dan praktis serta diterima oleh guru dan siswa sebagai perangkat pembelajaran yang mendukung proses belajar siswa pada materi sistem saraf.
