Abstract

ABSTRACT The creation of probiotic food/drinks emerged from awareness of the importance of public health and the role of probiotics in improving the balance of the gut microbiota. In this context, probiotics provide significant benefits for the digestive and immune systems. However, there are still many people who do not know the benefits of probiotics and how to include them in their daily diet. Therefore, through this outreach activity, it is hoped that it can increase public understanding about probiotics and provide practical skills in making probiotic food/drinks at home. The methods used in PkM activities are lectures/presentation of material, demonstrations, discussions and presentations. Several steps in the process of making yoghurt, namely: (1) Selection of raw materials, (2) Heating the milk, (3) Cooling the milk, (4) Adding starter culture, (5) Fermentation for 8-12 hours, (6) Cooling and storage. It should be noted that variations in raw materials, methods and types of lactic acid bacteria used can produce yoghurt with different characteristics. Therefore, the process of making yoghurt in this PKM activity meets halalan thayyiban standards.

Abstract

This community service program aims to re-use Eco-Friendly Organic Waste (LORALI) for the production of eco-enzyme. The program begins with a socialization session on the benefits of eco-enzyme, the techniques for making it, and its derivative products, targeted at both the pasantren (Islamic boarding school) management and its students. It is hoped that the partners will be able to manage organic waste independently, reduce environmental pollution, and enhance students' skills in eco-enzyme production and entrepreneurship, ultimately contributing to economic improvement. The results indicate that students’ knowledge and skills in eco-enzyme production have increased, as evidenced by high-quality, contamination-free products produced during the program.

Abstract

Plants are organism that can produce organic materials needed for it self and another organism. The role of plants as the producers is very important for food chain in life. There are various types of plants that are very useful as the producers in Glee Reulueng, Leupung District, Aceh Besar. This study aims to determine the diversity, identify and analyze the composition of species, plants, and tree structures of forest vegetation. The method used were direct observation using the line transect. The plants observed were only poles and trees. The minimum size of pole type has a total height of 5 m and 10 m for trees. Data analysis was carried out by looking for density, frequency, dominance, important value index (INP) and some dominance ration (SDR). The results showed that there are 30 species of plant vegetation in Glee Reuleung, the Morisita distribution index of plant vegetation is random with a value of id = 1 and the diversity of plant species is classified as moderate, with the highest value in plot 1 (? = 2.91) and is lowest in plot 3 (?= 2.36)Keywords: Plant diversity, Line transect, forest vegetation, Glee Reuleung

Abstract

Baruan River is one of the rivers located in Jaya Baru Village, Salang District, Simeulue Regency, Aceh, Indonesia. The availability of related references regarding fish are still limited, especially freshwater fish in the Baruan River which is still not available. This study aims to determine the diversity of fish species in the Baruan River. The research was conducted from 9 June - 15 June 2019. The research method used was direct observation (inventory survey), by observing directly in the field where the research was located. Taking of fish samples is divided into three sample points. The tools used are fishing nets, fishing rods and traps. The results obtained 6 species from 120 individual fish; Gabus fish (Channa striata), Rice field eel (Monopterus albus), Mullet (Mugil cephalus), Betok / Papuyu (Anabas testudineus), Seriding (Ambassis nalua) and Laaya / Alabul (Acentrogobius caninus). Diversity index of fish species is H? = 1.532, this value is included in the medium category. While the evenness index value E? = 0.854, it means that the fish spread in the Baruan River is evenly distributed. The dominance index value is D = 0.756 or classified as low, meaning that there are no fish species that dominate the Baruan River. Keywords: Baruan River, diversity index, evenness, fish, dominance.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAceh patchouli (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) is an aromatic plant producing essential oils demanded in the worldwide, which is belongs to Labiate family. This plant also well known as patchouli, the leaves contain oils that demanded in the perfume industry, aromatherapy, anti-microbial, anti-depressed, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. The production of Pogostemon cablin Benth has decreased in recent years, the characteristic of seedling propagated vegetative conventional means are not uniform; susceptible to pest and take long time. Therefore, propagation through tissue culture is desirable. Micropropagation or tissue culture techniques can produce plants that are disease-resistant, uniform, and large production in a short time. Tissue culture carried out aseptically and using the sterile medium supplemented with Plant Growth Regulators (PGR). This paper endeavor to include some important investigations based on the PGR used in micropropagation of Pogostemon cablin Benth. Keywords: PGR, Micropopagation, Pogostemon cablin Benth

Abstract

Clean and healthy living behavior is the essence for the sustainability of the program launched by the government as an indicator of sustainable health improvement achievements. The realization of PHBS in school settings needs to be pursued, to increase self-awareness of the results of the target, namely students and school residents and supported by the existence of facilities and infrastructure. This study aims to determine the factors related to the level of knowledge of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) in students of SD N 58 Alue Naga Banda Aceh. The type of research used is quantitative with a cross-sectional research design, namely research that studies the correlation between exposure or independent risk factors (level of knowledge, sex, attitude, personal hygiene, and incidence of diarrhea) with dependent effects or effects (PHBS). The sampling technique used was total sampling and obtained 82 students of grades V, and VI.. Data analysis is univariate and bivariate. Based on the analysis using coputerization with the chi-squre test, it was found that there was a significant relationship between the level of knowledge (p-value 0.027), gender (p-value 0.017), attitude (p-value 0.040), personal hygiene (p-value 0.027) and history of diarrhea (p-value 0.018) on clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) in students of SDN 58 Alue Naga Banda Aceh. The conclusion of the results of this study is that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge, gender, attitude, personal hygiene, and the incidence of diarrhea on PHBS students of SD N 58 Alue Naga Banda Aceh.

Abstract

The problem of mental disorders among soldiers is rarely discussed compared to similar problems among civilians. One form of mental disorder that is often found among soldiers is post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD. This research aims to determine the risk factors for emotional mental disorders in TNI AD soldiers at the Iskandar Muda Military Command.  This research is observational analytic using a cross sectional design. The population and sample are all TNI AD soldiers registered in the Iskandar Muda Regional Military Command Rikkeswa who had their health checked in 2021 and 2022 totaling 1047 people. This research uses secondary data. The data obtained were analyzed using logistic regression and linear regression tests. The research results showed that risk factors associated with emotional mental disorders in TNI AD soldiers at the Iskandar Muda Military Command were the SGOT enzyme (p= 0.018), body mass index (BMI) value (p= 0.002). and diastolic blood pressure (p= 0.029). Multivariate analysis of BMI value (p = 0.014) was the factor most associated with emotional mental disorders. The variable most associated with emotional mental disorders was BMI (p = 0.014). It is necessary to carry out a strategic action plan to reduce emotional mental disorders related to blood pressure, SGOT enzymes and BMI. Further research needs to be carried out to detect emotional mental disorders in the TNI.
