Abstract

Abstract: This study aims at designing multimedia-based literacy learning model and PAIKEM (Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, Fun) approach in a remote area of West Java. This research used Research Development approach in two schools within the remote area in Subang and Bandung District Barat. The result of this research showed that teachers in remote areas of West Java require training materials and methods based on PAIKEM literacy and the use of computers for learning media. Computer media used for the training of making a power point and Camtasia studio.Keywords: multimedia, literacy, PAIKEM, remote Elementary SchoolAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang model pembelajaran literasi berbasis multimedia dan pendekatan PAIKEM (Pembelajaran Aktif, Inovatif, Kreatif, Efektif, Menyenangkan) di daerah terpencil Jawa Barat. Abstract

This study aims at overcoming difficulty in learning language, both in Indonesian Language and English at international elementary school, especially in creative writing. Creative writing as part of human activity is creativity with language medium as prose (narrative, description), poem (old, new and modern), as well as drama (dialogue, role play, and sosio drama). Specific target to be achieved is the design of Video Streaming for all kinds of creative writing in the language of Indonesian and English. This investigation is a continuation of the previos investigation that has managed to make a video leaning in English for Math and Science as integrated learning to early class at international elementary school. The method used follow the principles of developmental reasearch. The firts stage is script writing video streaming through brainstorming with teachers, lecturers, teams of investigators Indonesia (UPI) and Malaysia (USM). The second stage manuscript, making finalization Video Streaming, make the Web, media experts and creative writing material team investigators. The third stage, testing the Video Streaming, Web and dissemination of results into all the international elementary school in Indonesia and Malaysia.

Abstract

The pur pose of this study was to obtain empirical data related to story writing skills for fifth-grade students at SDN Kamojing by using Mind Mapping assisted by video and picture media. Ideally, the teacher is able to apply the right learning methods and media in learning to write story essays, so that the learning can be memorable for students. The subject s of this st udy were the fifth-grade students of SDN Kamojing in Cikampek Subdistrict, Karawang District in the 2018/2019 school year, totaling 34 students. The research method used is Classroom Act ion Research. T his research was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection.The method of data collection is done through tests, observing student learning activities and teacher performance when learning takes place.The indicator of the success in this study is the average value of student learning outcomes 70, with a minimum percentage of completeness of 85%. Seen from the evaluation of the first cycle and second cycle, the results obtained from the average grade increased from the pre-test which was only 64.88 with 26.47% learning completeness to 69.88 with 44.12% completeness in the first cycle. These results continued to increase when the second cycle was carried out with an average value of 80.17 with 88.23% learning completeness. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the Mind Mapping assisted by video and picture media can improve students' story writing skills in Indonesian language learning. The use of Mind Mapping can make it easier for students to express their ideas in the form of stories and make students more creative, active and motivated in learning to write stories.

Abstract

Early in 2020, Pandemic Covid-19 spread in almost all regions of Indonesia which resulted in changing in the teaching process. Teaching was carried out by using various digital applications, one of which was WhatsApp application. The purpose of this study was to describe the teaching through WhatsApp application as a learning resource and tool, and to find out the effect of WhatsApp on the students’ reading ability at grade 1. The method in this study was a quantitative experimental research with a questionnaire, interviews, and observations as the instruments. The subjects of this study were grade I students who were registered in elementary schools and participating in teaching with WhatsApp. The results of the study illustrated that WhatsApp application used by the teacher was ineffective as a medium and learning tool for grade 1 elementary school students. The data revealed that 70% of parents stated that their children were not yet able to read, 12% of parents stated that their children were not able to recognize and pronounce words correctly. In conclusion, WhatsApp had no effect on students' initial reading abilitys during the Covid-19 pandemic as the result of the hypothesis testing indicated that the probability value (significance) was 0.000; thus, Ho was rejected. Using WhatsApp application as a medium for early reading was not recommended.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media film animasi fiksi islami untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak dan berbicara siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kontrol pretest dan posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa di sekolah dasar di Kota Bandung, sebanyak 60 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada saat pretest pada kelas eksperimen menggunakan media film animasi fiksi islami dan kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional sangat rendah. Setelah diberikan perlakuan ternyata terjadi peningkatan pada kedua kelompok baik kelas eksperimen maupun kelas kontrol pada saat postest. Namun peningkatan lebih baik pada kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan media film animasi fiksi islami dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol yang hanya menggunakan pembelajaran secara konvensional. Kata Kunci: kemampuan menyimak dan berbicara, media film    Abstact: This study is aimed to find out the influence of Islamic fiction animation film media to enhance listening and speaking ability of elementary school students.  This study use experiment quasi with pretest and posttest control.  Subject of this study are elementary school students in Bandung City with total of 60 students who are divided into two classes namely experiment class and control class. The result of study show that in pretest, experiment class use Islamic fiction animation film and control class use low conventional learning.  After treatment is given, there is enhancement in two groups both in experiment class and control class in posttest. Abstract

Language skills are the most important part of language learning at primary schools that need to be taken seriously. If not, then this results in low writing skills of students in expressing ideas in writing. So, students' thinking skills or what so-called Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are essential to be developed by teachers through learning. This study aims to determine the implementation of the HOTS-based ESCOTING model in writing skills of fables at primary school level. The method used was a pre-experimental research design with a single treatment design (one-shot case study). The sample used in this study was 23 second-grade students of a primary school in Bandung. The results showed that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes in writing skills. From these results it can be concluded that the implementation of the HOTS-based ESCOTING model can be used as a solution by the teacher to develop students' writing skills, especially in writing fables for the second-grade students.

Abstract

The 21st century needs quality human resources to respond to the changes in the industrial revolution era 4.0. These all-new demands require breakthroughs in terms of thinking and action if you want quality output that can compete with global and open-ended global work. However, the facts show that Indonesia's latest literacy ranking is in the second position from the bottom of the 61 countries studied. Indonesia is only better off Bostwana, a country in the South African region. In terms of reading skills, the INAP concludes, among others: students are not accustomed to answering questions that require high level interpretation and special terms (non common sense), texts that require the ability to imagine, explain, and have opinions. Thus, multiliteracy education and higher order thinking skills (KBTT) need to be intensified.Key words: multiliteration, higher order thinking

Abstract

ABSTRAK Mengembangkan keterampilan siswa dalam menulis penjelasan ilmiah adalah salah satu tujuan dalam pendidikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Read, Answer, Disscuss, Explain and Create (RADEC) terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas 5 SDN 122 Cijawura, Kecamatan Buah Batu, Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Non-equivalent pretest postest control grup design. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 38 siswa. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan skor pretest kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa sebesar 48,1 sedangkan skor posttest sebesar 68,9. Hasil uji t diperoleh hasil nilai sig=0,00, sehingga ditafsirkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa sebelum dan setelah diberikan treatment menggunakan model pembelajaran RADEC. Oleh sebab itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi mengalami peningkatan dalam kategori cukup melalui model RADEC. Kata kunci : kemampuan menulis, teks eksplanasi, model RADEC.

Abstract

Abstract: The ability of cooperation is an important aspect of personality and needs to be owned by everyone, especially in group learning. Based on the preliminary results of the learning in the fourth grade of CST SDN shows that the ability of student cooperation is still low. This is because the teacher does not give clear instructions about learning in groups, how to learn in groups, how to divide the tasks for each member of his group, and the teacher does not motivate the students to be able to work with friends of his group. This study aims to describe the application of the conferencing approach to improving the ability of cooperation of fourth-grade elementary school students. The research method used is the research of the class action model of Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The subjects of this study were 38 students of grade IV SDN CST. Data collection techniques used were observations and field notes. Qualitative data were taken using techniques from Miles and Huberman which consist of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion, and verification. While the quantitative data is taken using the statistic average and percentage. The results show that the application of the conferencing approach can improve students' cooperative ability, especially on group learning in the classroom.

Abstract

Meningkatkan kemampuan penjelasan ilmiah dan penguasaan siswa terhadap materi pembelajaran adalah salah satu tujuan utama dalam pendidikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi dan penguasaan konsep siswa melalui implementasi model pembelajaran Read, Answer, Disscuss, Explain, and Create (RADEC). Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen. Jumlah Partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 38 siswa. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes kemampuan menulis dan penguasaan konsep. Data dianalisis melalui uji normalitas, homogenitas dan uji t menggunakan program SPSS versi 20.0 for windows. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh hasil bahwa skor prates kemampuan menulis siswa sebesar 48,1 dan skor pascates sebesar 68,9. Berdasarkan hasil uji t kemampuan menulissiswa diketahui bahwa p=0,00˂0,05. Dengan demikian dapat ditafsirkan bahwa kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa mengalami peningkatan setelah diberikan pembelajaran dengan model RADEC. Sementara pada penguasaan konsep siswa  diperoleh hasil bahwa skor prates siswa sebesar 36,9 dan skor pascates sebesar 78,5. Kemudiandari hasil uji t diketahui bahwa  p=0,00˂0,05 artinya penguasaan konsep teks eksplanasi siswa juga mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan  setelah diberikan pembelajaran melalui model RADEC.
