Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of coaching and mentoring in improving employee performance and leadership through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. A literature search was conducted through Google Scholar using keywords related to coaching, mentoring, performance, and leadership, resulting in 161 initial articles. After screening for publication year, scientific validity, topic relevance, and Scopus accessibility and indexing, 11 articles met the final criteria for analysis. The study results show that coaching is proven to increase motivation, work engagement, and leader self-efficacy, which directly contributes to improved performance and leadership capacity. Mentoring has been found to be effective in developing intrapersonal competencies, accelerating career development, and enhancing generative behavior for both mentors and mentees. The effectiveness of both approaches is influenced by program design, alignment with individual needs, leadership support, organizational readiness for change, and the availability of adequate learning infrastructure. Overall, coaching and mentoring are complementary human resource development strategies that only produce optimal impact when applied within a supportive organizational ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of internal locus of control and need for achievement on entrepreneurial intention with entrepreneurial attitude as a mediating variable among vocational high school (SMK) students. The background of this study stems from the need to strengthen students' psychological factors in an effort to foster entrepreneurial spirit and prepare SMK graduates to be able to create business opportunities independently. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. The population consists of 210 students in the 12th grade of the Marketing Program from four SMKs in Malang City, while 131 students were sampled using proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire that had undergone validity and reliability tests. Data analysis was performed using path analysis with LISREL 8.8 to identify the direct and indirect effects between variables. The results showed that internal locus of control had a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial attitudes. Similarly, the need for achievement was found to have a positive and significant effect on increasing students' entrepreneurial attitudes. Both variables also had a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial intention. Entrepreneurial attitude was found to have a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial intention and to act as a partial mediator in the relationship between internal locus of control and need for achievement with entrepreneurial intention. These findings indicate that psychological factors and individual attitudes play an important role in encouraging entrepreneurial intentions among vocational high school students. Therefore, strengthening entrepreneurship education needs to focus on developing students' character, motivation to achieve, and self-confidence to dare to start a business

Abstract

In Indonesian government organizations, complex relationships exist between leadership, training, intellectual capital, performance, moderated by policy turbulence. This study investigates the complex relationships between leadership style, training and development, intellectual capital, and organizational performance in Indonesian government organizations, examining the moderating role of policy turbulence. Using a cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 328 Indonesian government organizations through stratified random sampling across geographic regions, organizational sizes, and policy environments. The research employed Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test hypothesized relationships. Results reveal that intellectual capital serves as a critical mediating mechanism between organizational investments and performance outcomes. Training and development emerge as the strongest predictors of intellectual capital formation, while leadership style demonstrates a limited impact on intellectual capital development. Most significantly, policy turbulence positively moderates the intellectual capital-performance relationship, contradicting conventional wisdom about environmental uncertainty’s negative effects. The findings suggest that policy instability enhances rather than diminishes the strategic value of knowledge assets. Organizations with strong intellectual capital are better positioned to leverage uncertain policy environments for enhanced performance through improved adaptability and strategic flexibility.

Abstract

Background: This study examines the role of entrepreneurial marketing in enhancing halal-oriented manufacturing SME performance in Indonesia from an Islamic business perspective. In increasingly uncertain and competitive business environments, halal-oriented SMEs are expected not only to achieve financial performance but also to maintain ethical integrity, transparency, and stakeholder trust in accordance with Islamic business principles. Despite the growing importance of halal business practices, limited research has explored how entrepreneurial marketing contributes to SME performance within an Islamic ethical context. Method: This study employed a quantitative research approach using survey data collected from 75 manufacturing SMEs in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine the direct effect of entrepreneurial marketing on SME performance, the impact of entrepreneurial marketing on innovation, and the mediating role of innovation in the relationship between entrepreneurial marketing and SME performance. Results: The findings reveal that entrepreneurial marketing has a positive and significant effect on both innovation and SME performance. Furthermore, innovation partially mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial marketing and SME performance, indicating that SMEs with stronger entrepreneurial marketing capabilities are better positioned to enhance innovation and achieve superior organizational outcomes. These findings also suggest that ethical innovation and proactive market orientation contribute significantly to strengthening halal SME competitiveness. Conclusion: Entrepreneurial marketing represents an important strategic capability for improving halal-oriented SME performance while remaining aligned with Islamic business ethics. The integration of entrepreneurial initiatives and innovation enables SMEs to strengthen competitiveness, enhance stakeholder trust, and generate sustainable organizational value. These outcomes are consistent with Islamic principles emphasizing amanah (trustworthiness), adl (fairness), and maslahah(social benefit), highlighting the relevance of ethical business practices in achieving long-term performance.
