Abstract

Fair Trade (FT) coffee has a higher production volume than other coffee certifications. This phenomenon is triggered by a shift that is influenced consumer behavior patterns. This study analyzes consumer characteristics, purchasing decisions, and satisfaction in buying FT coffee. A cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach was used as the research design. Data were obtained by distributing online questionnaires to 120 respondents using a voluntary sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results showed that most respondents were male, with an undergraduate degree and unmarried status. Trends and easy to get drink influence the main reason for purchasing. The main source of information comes from friends who focus on the coffee's taste and flavor. Consumers will continue to buy coffee even though prices have increased. Through CSI calculation, customer satisfaction is worth 74.04%. The results of the IPA calculation show that the main attributes to be improved are price, sales location, and information provision. The results of this study can be used as information on developing a marketing strategy that is adjusted to evaluate consumer expectations. Abstract

The COVID-19 virus is causing economic shocks. If there is no balance of demand and supply, the impact will result in price instability and price integration. Shallot (Allium ascalonicum) is an essential commodity in Indonesia that will impact inflation. Central Java is the largest national producer, and the impact that will be caused will be huge for the national shallot trade. Price fluctuations and integration in Central Java will have an impact due to many farmers and marketing actors involved in the shallot trade. The study aimed to analyze the stability of shallot in Central Java and analyze vertical and horizontal market integration. The methods used are The Coefficient of Variation and VAR/VECM. The results of research on producer prices and consumer prices in the time before and during pandemics are classified as high volume. Although producer prices have decreased volatility (19.73 to 18.43), consumer prices have increased (19.64 to 21.12). On vertical integration, in the long run, only the price of producers with retail traders and large swords with retail traders experience integration. While in the short term, there is only a producer-price relationship affecting the price of retail traders in Central Java which is harmful. The horizontal integration between Jakarta Karamatjati Market, Bandung Kosambi Market, Johar Semarang Market, and Bringharjo Market Yogyakarta experienced long and short-term integration. Johar Semarang Market is influenced by all three markets and only affects Yogyakarta Beringharjo Market.

Abstract

Seaweed is one of the most potential commodities in Indonesia which demand tends to increase overtime. Takalar Regency is the main producer of seaweed in South Sulawesi Province and has considerable resource potential in the fisheries sector. This study attempts analyzes portrait of the seaweed agribusiness system strarting from: the upstream subsystem, on-farm subsystem, processing subsystem, marketing subsystem, and supporting subsystem. The analysis used is descriptive, farming analysis, and analysis of the added value of the Hayami method. Determination of respondents using simple random sampling consisting of 33 seaweed cultivators and marketing actors consisting of seven collectors, two wholesalers, one exporter and one processing industry. The results showed that the seaweed agribusiness system still faces problems in both the upstream and downstream subsystems in cultivation equipment that is not environmentally friendly, seed quality, decreased production volume, capital, and institutional roles. Seaweed cultivation is profitable to cultivate with an R /C ratio 2,3. The added value ratio of dodol seaweed is 62.1%, seaweed jam 44,9% and Semi-Refined Carrageenan (SRC) 30,8%. There are five patterns of marketing channels formed from seaweed marketing activities. Seaweed business institutions consist of cultivator groups and cooperatives, and there is a Badan Usaha Milik Desa located in Laikang Village.

Abstract

Research aims: This study aims to investigate herding behavior in the large-capitalization cryptocurrency market and analyze the role/influence of Indonesia's macroeconomic factors, namely inflation and interest rates, on herding behavior in the large-cap cryptocurrency market.Design/Methodology/Approach: This study used secondary data from the daily closing prices of five large-cap cryptocurrencies and Indonesia's macroeconomic data (inflation and interest rates) from April 2019 to December 2022 by using the Cross-Sectional Absolute Deviation (CSAD) model and Newey-West estimator regression approach to detect herding behavior with a modified independent variable model involving factors influencing herding behavior.Research findings: Based on the results using the Newey-West estimator, three main results were obtained. First, large-cap cryptocurrency investors tend to be irrational in their decisions and follow the decisions of others without reference to their beliefs or herding during the sample period. Second of the two macroeconomic factors studied, i.e., inflation and interest rates, only changes in inflation rates influence investor herding behavior. Third, the market is inefficient with the proven tendency of herding behavior in large-cap cryptocurrencies.Practical and Theoretical contribution/Originality: This study narrows down the research of previous studies by using cryptocurrency research objects with a large market capitalization (large cap). In addition, this research extends the research of previous studies by considering external factors related to macroeconomic conditions in Indonesia in general, such as the inflation rate and the interest rate. This study can provide information about financial behavior in the cryptocurrency market, especially herding behavior, so that investors and policymakers can be assisted in formulating investment strategies and regulating cryptocurrencies.Research limitation: This research was limited to using only cryptocurrency assets by not using crypto-tokens, non-fungible tokens (NFT), and other crypto-assets.

Abstract

Shallots are one of the most volatile food commodities. The volatility of shallot prices can cause volatility for other commodities, coupled with the existence of shallot distribution channels in various markets, allowing volatility to flow between domestic markets. This research aims to analyze shallot price volatility and the transmission of shallot price volatility. This study uses the monthly price of shallots at the consumer level for the period January 2010 - December 2020. To analyze price volatility using the GARCH method and the transmission of volatility using the VAR method. The analysis results show that the level of volatility in the price of Indonesian shallots in East Java has the highest value, followed by DKI Jakarta, Central Java, and West Java. It was found that there is a two-way transmission of shallot price volatility in Indonesia which tends to fluctuate in the long run. Shallot price volatility in DKI Jakarta contributes to price volatility in other regions. A policy from the government is needed that is focused on stabilizing shallot prices in DKI Jakarta so that it does not spread to other region.

Abstract

Sertifikasi C.A.F.E. Akan tetapi, skema sertifikasi C.A.F.E. Practices dikhawatirkan hanya sebatas persyaratan ekspor saja, tanpa mementingkan keberlanjutan pengelolaan perkebunan kopi ditingkat petani.
