Abstract

This service program aims to increase the knowledge and skills of partner breeders regarding feed formulation techniques using local raw materials and superior local chicken breeding techniques using automatic hatching machines as well as seed production systems intensively and semi-intensively raised. The implementation of this service program uses group and individual counseling methods, which include non-physical and physical activities. Non-physical activities take the form of theoretical counseling using lecture and discussion methods. In contrast, physical activities are carried out using demonstration methods and field visits related to feed formulation techniques using local raw materials and superior local chicken rearing techniques using automatic hatching machines and intensive and semi-intensive seed production systems. The results of the implementation of this service program showed that the technical guidance activities for raising superior local chickens, which were carried out in Alebo Village, Konda District, South Konawe Regency, received a positive and enthusiastic response from the local village government and partner breeders. This technical guidance activity for raising superior local chickens that combined non-physical activities in the form of theoretical counseling with lecture and discussion methods with physical activities in the form of demonstrations and field visits can be a solution to problems experienced by partner breeders. Implementation of this service program is effective in increasing the knowledge and skills of partner breeders regarding feed formulation techniques using local raw materials and superior local chicken raising and breeding techniques using automatic hatching machines as well as seed production systems intensively and semi-intensively raised.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemanfaatan jerami padi sebagai bahan pakan ternak belum optimal karena memliki beberapa faktor pembatas antara lain kandungan serat kasarnya yang tinggi khususnya  lignin. Fermentasi merupakan salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan dalam meningkatkan nilai manfaat dari jerami padi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi karakteristik nutrien jerami padi yang difermentasi menggunakan EM-4 dengan level dedak padi berbeda.  Penelitian di desain menggunakan  rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) sederhana untuk menguiji 4 jenis perlakuan dalam 4 ulangan.  Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah penambahan jerami padi sebagai starter dalam proses fermenetasi yaitu P1 (0% dedak padi), P2 (10% dedak padi), P3 (15% dedak padi), dan P4 (20% dedak padi). Parameter penelitian yang diukur  adalah karakteristik kandungan nutrien jerami padi fermentasi yang terdiri atas : kadar bahan kering, bahan organik, protein kasar, serat kasar dan lemak kasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jerami padi yang difermentasi menggunakan EM-4 dengan penambahan starter berupa dedak padi level berbeda berpengaruh sangat nyata (p<0,01) terhadap karakteritik kandungan nutrien jerami (kadar bahan kering, bahan organik, protein kasar, serat kasar dan lemak kasar). Kadar bahan kering, bahan organik dan lemak kasar jerami padi yang difermentasi dengan EM-4 menggunakan starter dedak padi lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kontrol (tanpa menggunakan starter dedak padi).  Kandungan serat kasar dedak padi menurun seiring dengan peningkatan level dedak padi yang digunakan. Penggunaan dedak padi sebagai starter dalam proses fermentasi jerami padi menggunakan EM-4 mampu meningkatkan kualitas nutrien jerami padi sebagai pakan ternak.Kata Kunci: jerami padi, fermentasi, karakteristik nutrienNutrients Quality of Fermented Rice Straw Using EM-4 and Various Levels of Rice BranABSTRACT The high content of lignin could limiting the rice straw utilization as feed ingredient. Fermentation is one of the efforts that can optimize to increase the utilization of rice straw as feed. The aim of the study was to evaluate the nutritional characteristics of fermented rice straw using EM-4 and different levels of rice bran. The research was designed using completely randomized design (CRD) to test 4 treatments in 4 replications. The treatments used were the addition of rice bran as fermentation starter process (P1:0% rice bran, P2: 10% rice bran, P3: 15% rice bran, and P4: 20% rice bran). The research parameters measured were the characteristics of the nutrient content of fermented rice straw which consisted dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, crude fiber and crude fat content. The results showed that fermented rice straw using EM-4 with the addition of a starter in the form of rice bran at different levels had a very significant effect (p<0.01) on the characteristics of the nutrient content of the straw (dry matter content, organic matter, crude protein, crude fiber and fat). rough). The dry matter, organic matter and crude fat content of rice straw fermented with EM-4 using rice bran starter was higher compared to control. The crude fiber content of rice bran decreases in line the increase of the level of rice bran used. The use of rice bran as a starter in the rice straw fermentation process using EM-4 was able to improve the nutritional quality of rice straw as animal feed.Keywords: rice straw,fermentation,nutrient characteristic

Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia has tropical rainforests that are so vast and have a diversity of plants. The study aimed to identify the diversity of undergrowth in the teak forest area as a source of fodder for Bali cattle in Watopute District, Muna Regency, to be carried out in August–December 2022 with purpose location determination and village surveys using stratified random sampling based on area criteria low, medium, and high. Data collection used the field observation method by exploring and taking samples using a 10x30 m2 transect. The research variables included observations of plant species in the teak forest area and forage plant species in the teak forest area, which were then analyzed using the summed dominance ratio formula. The results of research on plant species in the teak forest area show that there are 17 families with 43 species, and for plant species that can be used as a source of feed for breeders, there are as many as 16 species. From the research, it can be concluded that livestock looking for food in the teak forest area in Watopute District consists of 16 plant species.Keywords: plants, teak forest, bali cattle, watopute

Abstract

ABSTRAK Sistem integrasi merupakan alternatif penanggulangan kekurangan pakan ternak sekaligus memberi manfaat bagi tanaman. Penelitian bertujuan menganalis potensi pengembangan ternak sapi bali terintegrasi tanaman pangan di Kabupaten Muna Barat dimulai sejak November 2020 sampai Januari 2021, menggunakan metode perhitungan daya tampung ternak dengan asumsi terdapat peternak yang menerapkan sistem integrasi. Populasi penelitian adalah petani-peternak pada sebelas kecamatan, yaitu Kecamatan Tiworo Kepulauan, Kecamatan Maginti, Kecamatan Tiworo Tengah, Kecamatan Tiworo Selatan, Kecamatan Tiworo Utara, Kecamatan Lawa, Kecamatan Sawerigadi, Kecamatan Barangka, Kecamatan Wadaga, Kecamatan Kusambi, dan Kecamatan Napano Kusambi. Data yang diperoleh dari sebelas kecamatan tersebut dianalisis berdasarkan satuan ternak (ST) untuk melihat potensi pengembangan ternak sapi bali terintegrasi tanaman pangan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan luas panen tanaman pangan di Kabupaten Muna Barat 12.280 hektar dengan produksi pakan dari hasil ikutan tanaman pangan sebesar 34.318.800 kg bahan kering per tahun, mampu menyediakan kebutuhan pakan ternak sebanyak 12.534 satuan ternak. Sistem integrasi ternak dan tanaman pangan sangat potensial untuk diterapkan di Kabupaten Muna Barat.Kata Kunci: integrasi, sapi bali, tanaman pangan Potential Integration of Bali Cattle and Food Crops in West Muna RegencyABSTRACT The integration system is an alternative to overcome the shortage of animal feed while providing benefits for plants. This study aims to analyze the potential for developing bali cattle integrated with food crops in West Muna Regency starting from November 2020 to January 2021, using the cattle carrying capacity calculation method with the assumption that there are farmers who apply an integrated system. The population of this research is farmer-breeder in eleven sub-districts, namely Tiworo Islands District, Maginti District, Central Tiworo District, South Tiworo District, North Tiworo District, Lawa District, Sawerigadi District, Barangka District, Wadaga District, Kusambi District, and Napano Kusambi District. The data obtained from the eleven sub-districts were analyzed based on livestock units (LU) to see the potential for developing integrated bali cattle for food crops. The results of the analysis show that the harvested area of food crops in West Muna Regency is 12.280 hectares with feed production from by-products of food crops of 34.318.800 kg of dry matter per year, capable of providing animal feed needs of 12.534 units of livestock. The livestock and food crop integration system have the potential to be implemented in West Muna Regency.Keywords: integration, bali cows, food crops

Abstract

ABSTRAK Uji performans merupakan cara dalam mengetahui tingkat performance dari keturunan yang dihasilkan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi performans produksi anak sapi hasil persilangan antara pejantan simental, brahman, peranakan ongole dan limousin dengan induk sapi bali. Pengamatan dilakukan selama delapan bulan dari bulan Januari sampai Agustus 2020. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK), kelompok simental-bali, limousin-bali, brahman-bali, peranakan ongole-bali dan bali-bali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rataan tertinggi masing-masing parameter pada umur lahir, bobot badan tertinggi yaitu 27,3±3,03kg (simental-bali), lingkar dada 59,9±2,52cm (simental-bali), panjang badan 57,8±2,11cm (simental-bali), tinggi badan 62,6±1,83 cm (simental-bali) sedangkan pada umur 12 bulan bobot badan tertinggi 174,4±9,48 kg (simental-bali), lingkar dada 144,2±5,81 cm (simental-bali), panjang badan 110,0±4,38cm (simental-bali) dan tinggi pundak 107,0±4,62 (simental-bali). Kesimpulan bahwa persilangan antara induk sapi bali dengan pejantan simental, limousin, brahman, dan PO berpengaruh nyata terhadap performans hasil persilangan mulai dari bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan dan ukuran dimensi tubuh (lingkar dada, panjang badan dan tinggi pundak). Sapi persilangan pejantan simental dengan induk sapi bali (simental-bali) memiliki bobot badan, laju pertumbuhan dan ukuran dimensi tubuh yang terbaik.Kata Kunci: performans, persilangan, bangsa sapi, Kolaka Timur Performance of Crossing Simmental, Brahman, PO, Limousin with Bali Cow in East Kolaka Regency ABSTRACTPerformance test is a way to find out the level of performance of the offspring produced. The research aims to evaluate the performance of calf production resulting from a cross between males simmental, brahman, peranakan ongole and limousin with bali mother cows. Observations were made for eight months from January to August 2020. Research using randomized group design, simmental-bali, limousin-bali, brahman-bali, peranakan ongole-bali and bali-bali. The results showed that the highest average of each parameter at birth age, the highest body weight is 27,3±3,03kg (simmental-bali), bust 59,9±2,52 cm (simmental-bali), body length 57,8±2,11 cm (simmental-bali), height 62,6±1,83 cm (simmental-bali) while at 12 months the highest body weight 174,4±9,48 kg (simmental-bali), chest girth 144,2±5,81 cm (simmental-bali), body length 110,0±4,38 cm (simmental-bali) and shoulder height 107,0±4,62 (simmental-bali). The conclusion that the cross between the mother cow of bali with studs simmental, limousin, brahman and peranakan ongole has a real effect on the performance of the results of crosses ranging from weight, weight gain and body dimension size (chest circumference, body length and shoulder height). The crossbreeding of simmental bulls with bali cow (simmental-bali) had the best body weight, growth rate and dimensions.Keywords: performans, crosses, cow nation, East Kolaka

Abstract

Forage is an important factor in increasing livestock productivity, and of course, both quality and quantity are influenced by soil quality. This study aims to analyze the productivity and quality of Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench has grown on nickel mine overburdened soil using different levels of urea. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments with 4 replications with a total of 20 experimental units where the treatments used were P1 = use of urea fertilizer dose of 300 kg/ha, P2 = use of urea fertilizer dose of 400 kg/ha, P3 = use of urea fertilizer dose of 500 kg/ha, P4= use of urea fertilizer dose 600 kg/ha, and P5= use of urea fertilizer dose 600 kg/ha with the evaluated parameters (a) Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench productivity includes dry matter production per hectare, leaf-to-stem ratio, and stem brix content, (b) chemical quality including dry matter (%), organic matter (%), crude protein (%), and crude fiber (%). The study's results showed that the application of urea fertilizer with different levels did not significantly affect the productivity and quality of Sorghum bicolor (L.) Abstract

The beef cattle farming business in Kolaka Regency still has bright prospects for its development. The purpose of this study was to analyze the prospects and determine the development of beef cattle in Kolaka Regency. This study was centered in Watubangga District because it is the base area for beef cattle development. The research variables include the social characteristics of farmers and production costs, involving 45 farmers as respondents. The data analysis method used in this research is the Revenue-Cost approach and the Cobb-Douglas production function using the natural logarithm model. The research results show that the beef cattle business in Kolaka Regency has prospects or is profitable for development with an R/C ratio of 3,12. Meanwhile, the variables of total production and investment costs determine the prospects for developing beef cattle farming in Kolaka Regency. Therefore, support from across sectors is needed to improve the beef cattle business in the future, especially in terms of accessibility of business funding sources.

Abstract

In pursuing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopting inclusive strategies that align with the unique cultures of marginalized communities is vital. This study emphasizes the critical role of weaving the Core Culture of the Orang Rimba community, a semi-nomadic group residing in Jambi, Indonesia, into existing empowerment strategies. Drawing from recent research trends, this study explores the promising potential of culture-based approaches, where integrating governmental policies with indigenous knowledge and practices can pave a more inclusive and sustainable developmental path. By delving deeper, we aim to foster a novel paradigm in sustainable development that resonates well with the intrinsic values and wisdom inherent in the Orang Rimba community. Central to this approach is an in-depth analysis of the Orang Rimba's Core Culture, presenting an opportunity to craft sustainable empowerment strategies deeply rooted in their rich cultural tapestry. Thus, this research pioneers a pathway that not only honors but actively incorporates the cultural heritage of the Orang Rimba community, catalyzing meaningful strides towards achieving the SDGs. Through this innovative approach, we aspire to unveil policies that are more receptive and inclusive, steering the community towards a brighter and more sustainable future.

Abstract

Kota Kendari merupakan kawasan yang ditetapkan sebagai kawasan pusat kegiatan nasional (PKN) yang berorientasi pada kegiatan pariwisata, pemberdayaan sumber daya manusia (perkebunan, pertanian, perikanan dan peternakan) dalam bentuk perdagangan dengan tujuan meningkatkan pengembangan produksi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat. Peningkatan produksi di Kota Kendari menjadikan sektor peternakan sebagai salah satu bidang yang mempunyai peluang besar untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Namun disisi lain terdapat permasalahan yang menjadi penyebab utama rendahnya harga jual ditingkat peternakan, salah satunya adalah peternakan itik yang berada pada garis distribusi peternak itik. Selain pendistribusian kepada masyarakat secara langsung, peternak seharusnya bisa melihat peluang ke perusahaan-perusahaan besar atau lembaga-lembaga terkait yang bisa membantu pendistribusian produk ke pasar yang lebih besar sehingga pendapatan serta keuntungan bisa ikut meningkat. Disisi lain pemanfaatan teknologi dalam meningkatkan pemasaran hasil peternakan merupakan hal yang paling utama dalam memacu peningkatan penjualan yang tidak terlepas dari metode atau teknik yang akan diterapkan. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh kelompok Usaha Ternak Kaseiseha yaitu masih rendahnya pengetahuan peternak itik tentang teknik pemasaran produk (daging dan telur) berbasis online, sehingga solusi yang ditawarkan melalui program kemitraan masyarakat internal (PKM-I) ini yaitu melakukan pelatihan tentang teknik pemasaran (daging dan telur) berbasis android (online), selanjutnya pendampingan teknis pembuatan akun marketplace facebook dan akun marketplace shopee, serta pembuatan halaman utama akun facebook shopee kelompok mitra. Upaya ini dilakukan untuk mewujudkan UMKM menghadapi era digital harus memiliki gerakan pemberdayaan melalui kegiatan e-commerce yang diharapkan dapat membantu pelaku UMKM menuju digitalisasi yaitu merangkul pelaku usaha mikro yang memiliki pengetahuan terbatas, akses internet yang belum merata dan memberikan pengetahuan tentang strategi pemasaran dapat memberikan solusi atas permasalahan yang dihadapi.
