Abstract

Differences in views between fiqh madhhabs often trigger debates, both in society and academia. Not infrequently, these differences lead to serious conflicts. This study aims to map the learning outcomes and teaching materials for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Budi Pekerti, especially the Fiqh element in the Merdeka Curriculum, based on the opinions of the madhhabs. This research seeks to identify which madzhab is most dominantly used in teaching materials, as well as provide convenience for educators in designing learning methods that are in accordance with the characteristics of students and the applicable curriculum. The research method used is a qualitative approach with content analysis techniques. The results show that PAI teaching materials in the Merdeka Curriculum are mapped by referring to the opinions of one particular madhhab, although in some parts other madhhab views are found. This finding is expected to be a reference for educators in developing inclusive and contextual learning strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the social care programs that exist in PMR activities at SMAN 20 Bandung, the methods of developing social care characters that are applied, and the realization of these characters in participating students. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive method, and data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and document studies. The subjects of this study consisted of PMR coordinators, PMR trainers, and students involved in PMR extracurricular activities. The results showed that PMR extracurricular activities effectively contributed to the development of students' social care character. The methods used in the development of social care characters are able to increase students' social awareness and responsibility. The results of this study show that PMR extracurricular activities contribute to the development of students' social care character, and can be a recommendation for strengthening Islamic religious education through extracurricular activities at the school.

Abstract

Spiritual intelligence occupies an important position to build and construct a person to be better and useful in dealing with and interpreting issues of meaning and value. This study aims to examine how PAI teachers' efforts in improving students' spiritual intelligence through PAI learning. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was chosen to gain an in-depth understanding of the problem and describe it as it is.  The findings in this study include efforts to understand the condition of students' spiritual intelligence level by means of observation, communication, and evaluation. The indicators can be seen from the practice of diversity, daily behavior, and evaluation of students. In designing PAI learning, it is adjusted to the learning outcomes and learning objectives. The PAI learning process is carried out by integrating spiritual principles and incorporating PAI aspects. The methods used must also support efforts to increase students' spiritual intelligence. After knowing the condition of the level of students, efforts are made to improve adjusted to the classification of high or low spiritual intelligence conditions. The last stage is the measurement process to determine the impact that occurs after making efforts to improve the spiritual intelligence of students.

Abstract

Pandemi virus Covid-19 yang merebak di tanah air sejak awal Maret 2020 merubah hampir semua sendi kehidupan, termasuk kaktifitas pendidikan. Proses belajar mengajar harus beralih dari rumah masing-masing siswa dengan bantuan teknologi informasi. Kegiatan belajar dari rumah tersebut memerlukan pendampingan orang tua. Oleh karenya, orang tua berperan lebih dalam mendampingi anak-anaknya. Artikel ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi berbagai peran orang tua dalam pembentukan karakter anak di masa pandemic Covid-19 ditinjau dari aspek pendidikan Islam. Dengan pelacakan kepustakaan (library research) dan mengafirmasi pernyataan beberapa orang tua siswa yang diwawancarai, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa orang tua berperan lebih dalam membentuk karakter anak menunju insan paripurna, yakni berperan sebagai pendidik (educator), fasilitator, motivator, pendamping dan pengawas, serta sebagai figur yang dicontoh anak (al-uswah al-hasanah). Selain itu, orang tua memiliki tantangan lebih dalam membimbing dan mengawasi anak selama masa belajar dari rumah akibat penggunaan gadget yang terkadang disalahgunakan oleh anak.

Abstract

Increasing student creativity in the context of higher education is essential as part of character and skill formation. The Salman ITB Campus Mosque, in addition to functioning as a place of worship, also serves as a center for community activities that support the development of various student potentials, including in the field of handicrafts through the Lingkar Kreatif Salman (LIKESA) unit. This study aims to explore the implementation of crafting activities in the campus mosque through the LIKESA unit, along with its role and identify the challenges faced and the solutions offered. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection through interviews, observations, and document studies. The results of the study found that the crafting activities organized by the LIKESA unit at the Salman ITB Campus Mosque actively contributed to increasing student creativity through various craft workshops, such as knitting and painting. Although the support of the Salman ITB Mosque in terms of facilities and funding was very significant, the LIKESA unit faced specific challenges such as difficulty in finding available speakers, lack of publications to reach participants, and low participation due to participants' shyness to exhibit their work. Proposed solutions include utilizing social media to increase publications and participation, as well as building collaborative networks with external speakers. The important finding of this study is that the existence of infrastructure and resource support from Salman Mosque ITB is the key to success in implementing LIKESA craft activities. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of institutional support and effective communication strategies for the sustainability and improvement of the quality of craft activities in the student environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pentingnya pendidikan dalam kemajuan bangsa dan menyoroti kebutuhan akan metode pengajaran yang efektif dalam pembelajaran, khususnya Pendidikan Agama Islam. Fenomena yang dihadapi adalah metode pembelajaran yang kurang fokus pada keterampilan berpikir kritis dan aplikatif, yang menyebabkan siswa memiliki pemahaman teoritis tetapi kurang mampu mengaplikasikan pengetahuan agama dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kolaborasi model Pembelajaran Inquiry Based Learning dan metode Hiwar untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan aplikasi ajaran agama Islam di sekolah. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui riset pustaka, penelitian ini mengevaluasi literatur yang relevan untuk menjelaskan konsep dan aplikasi praktis kedua metode tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi Inquiry Based Learning dan metode Hiwar dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang dinamis dan interaktif, meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, analitis, dan komunikasi siswa, serta memotivasi mereka untuk lebih aktif dalam pembelajaran agama Islam, sehingga kualitas pendidikan agama Islam di sekolah dapat ditingkatkan secara signifikan.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the application of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach in learning Islamic religious education in schools. CRT is a learning approach that emphasizes recognizing and integrating students' cultural diversity, backgrounds and experiences in the learning process. This study uses qualitative research methods by involving students from various cultural backgrounds and teachers' learning strategies in the learning process. Data was collected through classroom observations during teaching and learning activities and interviews with PAI teachers who implemented CRT. The integration of CRT in PAI learning can help create an inclusive learning environment, promote cross-cultural understanding, improve students' learning abilities and be able to manage the rights of all students in the process. The results of the research are that learning that takes into account students' cultural diversity can create an inclusive learning environment and support the development of strong religious values. This study also provides a more comprehensive view of the importance of recognizing and responding to cultural diversity in the context of religious education, which in turn can improve the quality of education in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of religious character education through a fitrah-based educational approach at Sekolah Alam Al-Hakim. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, the research emphasizes an in-depth understanding of the contextual strategies used in shaping students’ religious character. Data were collected through interviews with school leaders, teachers, students, and parents, as well as through observation and documentation of learning activities. The findings reveal five key elements adopted by Sekolah Alam Al-Hakim to strengthen students’ religious character. First, the school applies Al-Ghazali’s Tazkiyatun Nafs framework in the learning process, consisting of three stages: takhalli (cleansing oneself from reprehensible traits), tahalli (instilling virtuous character), and tajalli (emergence of spiritual awareness). Second, the school integrates all learning activities as acts of devotion to God through a holistic approach, including daily class routines, evening school programs, super camps, nature exploration, and parental involvement. Third, the school’s curriculum aims to develop a holistic religious character encompassing students’ spiritual, social, and emotional aspects. Fourth, teachers play a central role as spiritual role models and guides, reinforcing the internalization of religious values. Fifth, the evaluation process focuses on character assessment through observation, student reflection, and parental engagement. This study recommends the adoption of a fitrah-based educational model as an effective and comprehensive approach to cultivating students’ religious character in a contextual and transformative manner. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi pendidikan karakter religius melalui pendekatan pendidikan berbasis fitrah di sekolah Alam Al-Hakim. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus yang menekankan pemahaman mendalam terhadap strategi pembentukan karakter religius siswa secara kontekstual. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, dan orang tua, serta observasi dan dokumentasi kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan lima poin utama yang diterapkan oleh sekolah Alam Al-Hakim dalam menguatkan karakter religius. Pertama, sekolah Alam Al-Hakim menerapkan pendekatan Tazkiyatun Nafs Al-Ghazali dalam pembelajarannya yaitu melalui tiga tahapan: takhalli (pengosongan diri dari sifat tercela), tahalli (pengisian dengan akhlak terpuji), dan tajalli (munculnya kesadaran spiritual). Kedua, mengintegrasikan semua kegiatan pembelajaran untuk mendekatkan diri kepada Allah, yaitu melalui pembelajaran yang holistik seperti kegiatan harian di kelas, sekolah malam, super camp, jelajah alam, dan sekolah orang tua. Ketiga, manfaat jangka panjang yang diterapkan kurikulum sekolah Al-Hakim bertujuan untuk  membentuk karakter religius yang utuh, mencakup aspek spiritual, sosial, dan emosional siswa. Keempat, memaksimalkan peran guru sebagai teladan dan pembimbing spiritual, sehingga turut memperkuat proses internalisasi nilai-nilai religius. Kelima, evaluasi yang dilakukan berfokus pada penilaian karakter yaitu melalui observasi sikap, refleksi siswa, dan keterlibatan orang tua. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan model pendidikan berbasis fitrah sebagai pendekatan yang efektif dalam membentuk karakter religius siswa secara menyeluruh dan kontekstual.

Abstract

Building a culture of tolerance and interreligious dialogue is one of the important agendas for creating religious harmony in various contexts. This study analyzes the concept of religious education and conflict resolution initiated by Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Lab School in building a culture of tolerance and interfaith dialogue among Muslim and non-Muslim students. UPI Lab School is an educational institution with diverse students from different religious backgrounds. This research used a qualitative approach and descriptive case study method by collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis employed the Miles and Huberman procedure framework through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The result showed several findings: 1) the internalization of religious moderation is manifested in the school’s curriculum and learning process, 2) the learning model is based on freedom and non-coercion and builds a moderate and dynamic discussion space, 3) the school carries out conflict resolution and inter-religious dialogue by communicating with non-Muslim parents and external parties to avoid misunderstanding, and 4) the strengthening of religious identity is built through open discussion based on freedom of opinion for every student, without any form of coercion and discrimination.

Abstract

Pemahaman keagamaan siswa sejatinya memiliki latar belakang yang beragam seperti berlatar belakang mazhab Imam Hanafi, madzhab Imam Syafi’i, madzhab Imam Maliki, atau madzhab Imam Hambali. Hal tersebut menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam. Strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru harus mampu mengayomi berbagai perbedaan pemahaman keagamaan siswa untuk membangun pembelajaran yang toleran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis strategi pembelajaran PAI berbasis multi madzhab untuk meningkatkan perilaku moderat siswa di lembaga sekolah menengah, khususnya di SMAN 15 Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Instrumen utama pada penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dengan sumber data yang diperoleh dari guru PAI, siswa, serta kegiatan pembelajaran melalui teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara dan observasi. Analisis hasil penelitian menggunakan teori interaksi simbolik dari George Herbert Mead yang menekankan pada konsep manusia sebagai makhluk sosial. Pada akhirnya penelitian ini menemukan bahwa strategi pembelajaran PAI berbasis multi madzhab di SMAN 15 Bandung menekankan inklusivitas dan toleransi terhadap perbedaan pandangan fikih. Materi ajar dikembangkan dari berbagai sumber untuk memperluas pemahaman, dan metode Problem-Based Learning (PBL) digunakan untuk mendorong diskusi kritis. Evaluasi dilakukan secara berkala menggunakan media interaktif seperti Quizizz, dengan fokus pada kemampuan berpikir kritis dan analisis dalil agama, sehingga mendukung suasana belajar yang inklusif dan toleran serta berhasil meningkatkan perilaku moderat siswa.
