Abstract

Has conducted research for a hand out submateri biotechnology high school students basedon plant tissue culture research Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa). The study includes two phases,namely: (1) Experiments to produce callus tissue culture experiments using completelyrandomized design (CRD) factorial. The first factor is the level of NAA treatment that is 0, 1,1.5, 2 and 3 mg/l. The second factor is the level of BAP treatment with 0, 0.5, 1, and 1.5mg/l. Each treatment was repeated 3 times; (2) Preparation of handouts from the research as asource of learning the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, andEvaluation).Parameters measured were the percentage of growing explants, while appearingcallus and callus texture. Analysis of data growing percentage of explants with advancedANOVA and DMRT test at 5% level, while the current and emerging callus texturedescriptively. In a growing percentage of explants parameter combination treatment showed apercentage of 100 % are in treatment A 0 B 1,5 , A 1 B 0,5 - A 3 B 1,5 . For the current parametersappear callus treatment best combination found in treatment A 3 B 1,5 with a mean time of 2HSK appear callus (days after culture) and for the texture parameters of combinationtreatment showed callus crumb texture and white color found in treatment A 2 B 0,5 - A 3 B 1,5 , theresearch on callus growth can be used as a learning resource in the form of handouts for highschool level studentsKeywords : Handout, Tanaman Rosella, Kultur kalus, Hormon NAA dan BAP

Abstract

Classroom Action Research has been conducted (PTK), which aims to improve the scientific attitude and learning outcomes of students with models of biological types of cooperative learning on the inside outside circle VIII2 grade students at SMPN 2 pekanbaru. The study was conducted from October to November 2011. The study subjects were 36 students (16 male and 20 female). Parameter were the attitude of scientific research, the study (absorption and completeness of student learning), award groups, and advocates parameter is the student activity and teacher activity. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that the cycle I mean the scientific attitude of students is 79.94% (Fair), the average absorption of students is 79.78% (Enough), which is 75% learning completeness (Enough), which gained the award there is a super predicate group, the average activity of students is 81.13% (Fair), the average results of activity of the teacher is 90.91% (Good). While on average the second cycle of scientific attitude of students increased to 90.32% (Good), the average absorption of students is 87.58% (Good), exhaustiveness study is 100% (Very good), which achieved full appreciation super group there are 2 groups , the average student activity increased to 90.21% (Good), the average activity of the teacher is 100% (Very good). From the research results can be concluded that with the implementation of cooperative learning model of the type of inside outside circle can increase the scientific attitude and learning outcomes VIII2 grade biology students SMPN 2 Pekanbaru.Keywords: Biology Learning Outcomes, Cooperative Learning Model Type Inside Outside Circle, scientific attitude,

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the type of processing of tea (Camellia sinensis L. Kuntze) and the concentration of sugar to ferment kombucha and draft Worksheet Students (LKPD) High School Biology.This study consisted of two phases. The first phase is making kombucha tea using the experimental method completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 8 treatments and 3 replications. Parameters measured were reducing sugar, total acid concentration, pH and organoleptic levels. The results obtained were analyzed by ANOVA and a further test DMRT at 5% level. The second phase is the phase Design (draft) LKPD sourced from the research phase I. LKPD design consists of two stages, namely Analysis and Design LKPD. The results showed that variations in the type of processing tea and sugar concentration provides significant effect on reducing sugar, total acid concentration, pH and organoleptic levels. The greater the concentration of sugar, the greater the reduction sugar and total acid content of kombucha tea, and increasingly lace pH of the solution. As for organoleptic color, aroma, and taste the best there is on the treatment T1G3 (black tea, sugar 120 grams). The results of the study can be used as a draft Worksheet Students (LKPD) on the material of conventional biotechnology. Key words : Kombucha tea, Tea Processing Type Variation, Concentration Sugar, draft LKPD

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aimed to determine the effect of Kinetin and NAA on the growth of explants Musk lime (Citrus microcarpa) and to design learning resource for student work sheet based virtual laboratory. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology Education University of Riau and Laboratory Biotechnology of Riau Islamic University from April-Mei 2015, using a completely randomized design of 4 x 4 factorial with three replications. The first factor (K) is the Kinetin consists of 4 level: 0 ppm, 1 ppm, 3 ppm, and 5 ppm. The second factor (A) is the NAA consist of 4 level: 0 ppm, 0,5 ppm, 1 ppm, and 2 ppm. Parameters measured were percentage grows, time of root rise, time of bud rise, the amount of buds, amount of roots, and lengt shoot. The data were analyzed using ANAVA and tested further by DMRT at 5% level. The data were analyzed using verification by lecturer for development student work sheet . The results of this research showed of Kinetin and NAA significantly affect the growth of explants Musk Lime. The percentage of explants grown 100% all treatments, except treatment K5A0, The earliest of root rise in treatment K0A0,5 HST, The earliest of bud rise in treatment K5A0 HST, Highest amount of buds in treatment K3A2 is 2.4 buds, Highest lengt of shoot in treatment K3A0 is 7.1 buds, and the amount of roots the best treatment of K0A0,5 is 8,1 roots. Keywords: Kinetin, NAA, Tissue Culture.

Abstract

The experiment was conducted at the Laboratory of Biotechnology Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau Pekanbaru. In the month of September 2013 - January 2014, with the aim to determine mikropropagasi purple sweet potato (Ipomoea blackie) using BAP and IBA in vitro using Murashige Skoog medium (MS) on the growth of primordial shoots and roots. Parts of the plant which will be used as explants is to take part tuber meristematic tissue concentrations of BAP (0, 1, 1.5, 2, and 3 mg/l) and IBA (0, 0.5, 1, and 2 mg/l). The results showed that there were differences in the growth of explants due to the addition of growth regulators BAP and IBA. Time appears primordial shoots fastest is on treatment (BAP 1.5 + IBA 2 mg/l) with a time of 14 HSK (day after culture) while for the roots of the fastest emerging waktul on treatment (1 BAP + IBA 2 mg/l) with 18 HSK time. BAP and IBA treatment at this concentration has been balanced for growth of purple sweet potato explants. Abstract

ABSTRACT The aims of this research to determine the quality of tempeh milk powder by time fermentation and designing Student Worksheet relevant to a material Food Biotechnology Food Fermentation sub material. This study consisted of two phases. The first phase, were the making of  tempeh milk powder using the experimental method with completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 5 treatments and 3 replications. Parameters measured were moisture content, protein content, fat content, pH and organoleptic test. The results obtained were analyzed by ANOVA and a further test DMRT at 5% level. The second phase were the development of  Student Worksheet from the results of the first phase. This research used ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) are simplified into phases Analysis, Design and Development. Data of Student Worksheet development obtained from the validation sheet which validated by 3 validators with 5 validity criterias were analyzed descriptively. Results showed that the time of fermentation influence on moisture content, protein content, fat content, pH and organoleptic test. Fermentation time 12 hours is a long time to produce the best fermented tempeh milk powder quality. Which results in moisture content of 0.78%, 2.61% protein content, fat content 2.00% and 5.01 pH levels. As for organoleptic texture, color, aroma and flavor contained in the fermentation 36 hours. Results of the study can be used as Student Worksheet in the sub materials Food Fermentation on the material Food Biotechnology with a mean value of 3.32 validity valid category. Keywords : Student Worksheet, Food Biotechnology, Tempeh Milk Powder, Time Fermentation.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengendalikan pencemaran lingkungan oleh biosolar menggunakan bakteri Bacillus cereus strain IMB-11 dengan mengoptimalkan rasio nutrisi bakteri. Penelitian dilakukan pada Desember 2020-Januari 2021 di laboratorium Mikrobiologi, Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Riau. Media yang digunakan adalah SMSS dengan menambahkan 4 variasi rasio nutrien berupa karbon, nitrogen dan Fosfor dengan rasio 100:10:1, 100:10:0.5, 100:5:1 dan 100:5:0,5 dengan menambahkan 10% bakteri Bacillus cereus strain IMB-11. Parameter yang diamati adalah perubahan warna dan kekeruhan media kultur serta jumlah koloni bakteri dalam mendegradasi biosolar. Rasio nutrien C:N:P 100:10:1 memberikan pertumbuhan optimal bagi bakteri dalam mendegradasi biosolar, terlihat dari jumlah koloni yang lebih tinggi yaitu mencapai 2.42x109 CFU/mL pada hari ke 3, serta perubahan warna dan kekeruhan media yang cenderung terjadi lebih cepat dibandingkan variasi rasio nutrien lainnya. Hasil penelitian dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran Poster pada materi bakteri kelas X SMA. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu Rasio nutrien C:N:P=10:10:1 memberikan pertumbuhan lebih optimal terhadap bakteri Bacillus cereus Strain IMB-11 dibandingkan dengan rasio nutrien lainnya dan hasil penelitian dapat dijadikan sebagai rancangan media poster materi Bakteri kelas X SMA 3.5 Mengidentifikasi struktur, cara hidup, reproduksi dan peran bakteri dalam kehidupan dan KD 4.5 Menyajikan data tentang ciri-ciri dan peran bakteri dalam kehidupan.

Abstract

Have implemented quality improvement research learning courses in Biotechnology Biology Education Guidance and Counseling Program at the University of Riau July to December 2013. Evaluation of student learning outcomes is done by comparing the student learning outcomes before and after implementation of the CBC. The samples were student results of 2005, 2006, 2007 ( before CBC ) and the class of 2008, 2009, 2010 ( after CBC ). Descriptive analysis of the data by comparing the cognitive and psychomotor aspects of learning outcomes and analyze the weaknesses in the implementation of the lecture and practicum students who have obtained. Results showed that without the use of practical learning outcomes for the class of 2005 earned an average value of 75.59, class of 2006, the average value of 73.71 and the class of 2007 with an average value of 76.72. Overall average value of 75.34 . While learning to use lab results to the class of 2008 with an average value of 72.32, for the class of 2009 with an average value of 76.66 and for the class of 2010 with an average value of 76.72. Overall average value of 74.94. Learning outcomes are assessed on the cognitive aspects of the implementation of learning theory after CBC ( 74.94 ) is lower than before using CBC ( 75.34 ), the psychomotor aspects of the implementation of the learning lab ( 76.33 ) is higher than the results of the study only assessed from the theory. Thus the addition of psychomotor aspects make students more easily understand and can apply the theory in practice, so as to improve learning outcomes.Keywords: Competency-Based Curriculum, Learning Outcomes, Theory and Practice of Biotechnology

Abstract

Kenerak (Goniothalamus umbrosus) is one species of Goniothalamus genus and becomes sourcesof important traditional medicines for local people in Southeast Asia. Goniotltalamus plants are consideredto have great sources of pharmaceuthical substances and used as anticancer agent. Based on this thepreliminary study was carried out to overcome dormancy of kenerak seeds using seed explants showed thatbest result to enhance rapid germination was found for M S A4 (0.5 mg/12.4-D) medium after 3-8 weeksculture and total germination on E6 (2.0 mg/l 2.4-D 4- 0.5 mg/l B A P ) medium of 80%. This is better thanconventional methods which is about 6-12 months. Therefore la vitro technique can be used to overcomedormancy in seeds of kenerak.

Abstract

Fish feed biotechnology is fish pellets produced through the fermentation process of mustard greens, fats, and used cooking oil from waste containing vegetable nutrients. The results of this preliminary research were developed into leaflets and booklets as teaching materials for student learning guides through the constructivism-based STEM approach. This research was conducted at SMP Purnama Pekanbaru from February to April 2020 with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental research design. The research subjects were 25 ninth-grade students who took biotechnology extracurricular activities. The data were collected using the students' creative thinking ability test sheets. Scores and mean scores of data were calculated, tabulated, and analyzed descriptively. The research objective was to analyze the effect of the constructivism-based STEM approach on students' creative thinking skills. The results showed that learning using the constructivism-based STEM approach effectively improved students' creative thinking skills in biotechnology learning in recycling waste into fish pellets.
