Abstract

The study aims to analyze the effect of the fish diversity book in Kampar District on the learning motivation and obstacles of Kampar High School students through online learning during the COVID-19 period. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with research subjects in class XI SMA Kampar (Kampar High School). In its implementation, students were given a motivational questionnaire in the beginning, after that they were given the task of studying the types of fish in Kampar through the book files of fish diversity in Kampar District through online learning. After online learning, the post-test was given using a questionnaire evaluation of the motivation and online learning obstacles questionnaire. Parameters: learning motivation with five indicators, ten indicators of online obstacles. Motivation data collection using pre-test and post-test. Data is presented and analyzed descriptively. The results obtained an average score of post-test student learning motivation (77.7) increased compared to before studying diversity book (65.9) with an N-gain index of 0.34, 74% of respondents said online learning was more effective, 50% of respondents stated the ordinary school is better than online learning. The implementation of fish species diversity books through online learning is effective in increasing student learning motivation, but it is less effective in motivating desires, appreciation, and not being attractive enough. The obstacles of online learning at Kampar High School include internet network facilities and field practicum during the COVID-19 period.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran IPA berbasiskan integrasi inkuiri terbimbing dengan Numbered Heads Together (NHT) terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi eksperimen, dengan design penelitian non equivalen control grup design. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan September-Desember tahun pelajaran 2018 dengan sampel kelas eksperimen berjumlah 40 siswa dan kelas kontrol berjumlah 40 siswa pada kelas VIII SMP N 21 Pekanbaru. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket motivasi belajar. Motivasi belajar dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas: hasrat, dorongan, harapan, penghargaan dan menarik. Hasil penelitian ini ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada nilai rata-rata post test motivasi belajar peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen sebesar 3.26 dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 3.12 setelah dilaksanakan intervensi (P<0,05). Hal ini jelas bahwa penggunaan  integrasi inkuiri terbimbing dengan NHT dalam proses pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah memberikan salah satu alternative proses pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovatif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Abstract: Fish is a food that provides relatively high protein, and contains various minerals, besides that fish can also increase the growth and development of children's intelligence to the maximum. Through this research, it is hoped that it can provide an understanding to the public about the importance of fish for public health, and introduce the benefits of eating fish to the younger generation, especially to students at school. This research was conducted for 3 months from July to September 2020. The data collected were primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained through direct observation at TPI Dumai City, traditional markets, interviews with fishermen and traders (respondents). Secondary data is fishery statistical data obtained from relevant agencies, namely the Dumai City TPI and the Dumai City Fisheries and Marine Service. The results of the study on the diversity of marine fish species consumed in the city of Dumai found there were 34 families consisting of 51 fish species, In this study, the most dominating types of fish at the observation site were happy fish with 830 fish and mackerel with 766 fish, which were then developed into a pocket book design. This pocket book is used as a learning resource for students on biodiversity material related to the results of this research. The stage of making this pocket book begins with compiling and developing the material, completing the material with photos and pictures documenting the results of data collection that has been carried out.Key Words: Characteristics of Fish Species, Dumai City, Pocket Book

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to study fermentation with alcohol content of tapai pulut putih (Oryza sativa glutinosa) based on conventional biotechnology concepts and fermentation time on alcohol content of tapai pulut putih (oryza sativa glutinosa) as a module designed on conventional biology class XII high school concepts. The research method consisted of two preparations, namely the making of Tapai Pulut Putih (Oryza sativa glutinosa) and the manufacture of a Biology High School module design. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology Education Study Program FKIP University of Riau to produce white tapai pulut and measurements of alcohol content, temperature, and pH, starting in April to June 2018. This study used an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 works and 3 results obtained 18 experimental planning. From the research conducted, it can be concluded that the duration of fermentation of white tapai pulut determines the alcohol content. The highest alcohol content at 42 hours fermentation time is equal to 0.75% while the duration of fermentation affects the decrease in the pH value of the substrate seen at 12 hours fermentation time, pH 4.80 and does not support changes in substrate temperature.Key Words: White Fermented Tofu, Alcohol, Conventional Biotechnology

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to determine the effect of salt concentration on fermentation cincalok rebon shrimp (Acetes erythraeus) and the design of Student Worksheet (LKPD) of senior high school grade XII biotechnology materials in January-March 2019. This research carried out in two stages; they are the experimental stage: the effect of salt concentration on fermentation cincalok rebon shrimp (Acetes erythraeus) and the designing stage of the LKPD: the analysis of the potential development of senior high school grade XII biotechnology material for teaching. The research used the experimental method by conducting experiments in the Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Riau University, Pekanbaru. Sampling was carried out with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The parameters in this study were water content, protein content and pH. Based on the results of Analysis of variance (Anova) at the level of 5%, the administration of salt concentration showed a significant effect on fermentation cincalok rebon shrimp (Acetes erythraeus).The provision of salt with a concentration of 20% gave the best increase in the quality of fermentation cincalok rebon shrimp (Acetes erythraeus) and based on the analysis of the research results, it can be used as a draft students worksheet (LKPD) of senior high school grade XII biotechnology materials.Key Words: Fermentation Cincalok Rebon Shrimp, LKPD Design, Salt

Abstract

The validity of textbooks is an important thing before it is used in the learning. This study aims to determine the level of validity of the 2013 curriculum-based biology textbook that is integrated to the ayat Kauniyah (Kauniyah verses). The research was conducted on the campus of the Master of Biology Education Study Program, FKIP, Riau University. The validation of the textbook was carried out by 5 validators consisting of 3 experts according to their fields and expertise, and 2 validators from education practitioners. The validators from the expert element consists of Plant Science expert, Animal Science expert and one expertist on the integration of kauniyah verses. While the validator from the education practitioner element consists of 2 SMAIT teachers who are members of the city biology subject teacher deliberation (MGMP) Pekanbaru. The developed Biology textbooks based on the 2013 curriculum with the integration of kauniyah verses were declared very valid with an average of 95.20%. If detailed based on indicators, the results obtained are 94.44% in appearance aspects (very valid), 96.53% content aspects (very valid), 97.22% presentation aspects (very valid), 95.00% linguistic aspects (very valid) ) and aspects of the kauniyah verses 92.82% (very valid).

Abstract

This research is a descriptive study that aims to produce a test instrument for the knowledge of candidates for Biology Education undergraduate candidates for the Technologhy Pedagogy and Content Knowledge (TPACK) and Indonesian National Qualifications Framework. The study was a development with plomp models conducted at the stage of development. Data collection was done by validation and testing. Validation aims to look at the alignment of experts' opinions, while testing serves to see the handling of the problem by analyzing the test results. Data obtained from test results analysis using rasch modelling with the help of the winstep software. The results of the analysis are in the form of the value of reliability, unidimensionality, level of difficulty, distinguishing power, distractor and person - item map. The results showed that the number of valid questions was 63 items, the number of questions that were invalid or not accepted was 17 items. Invalid questions must be followed up in order to produce a good knowledge test instrument so that it can be used in measuring the mastery of TPACK for prospective teachers and biology teachers.

Abstract

Process of science learning stresses on giving students direct experience to develop their competence. Therefore, teachers are required to be creative and innovative to improve students’ critical thinking. Accordingly, there is a need for a research on “The science learning based on guided inquiry integration with Numbered Heads Together (NHT) toward critical thinking skill”. This research aim to figure out of influence of the science learning based on guided inquiry integration with NHT. This research is a quasi-experimental study, with design "non-equivalent group control design". This research was conducted at September-December 2018 with samples of the experimental class (n = 40) and the control class (n = 40) at class VIII SMP N 21 Pekanbaru. The research instrument consisted of questions to test students' critical thinking skills. This shows the research instrument at a good and quality stage. The results of this study note that there are significant differences in the average value of the Post test students' critical thinking skills between the experimental class amounted to 75.00 with the control class 67.00 after the intervention (P <0.05). So that the use of Integration of guided inquiry with NHT in the learning process can improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The K13 Curriculum requires students thinking skills, especially in the regulation of cognition which consists of planning, information management strategies, monitoring, examination of actions, and evaluation. This study aims to look at the metacognitive abilities of class X students of SMAN 7 Pekanbaru on the concept of environmental pollution through mind mapping with problem based learning models. This type of research was a quasi experiment using two classes, one class as an experimental class and one class as a control class. The experimental class used mind mapping models of problem based learning and the control class used conventional learning. The research design used a pretest-posttest control group design. Data collection techniques used questionnaires metacognitive abilities and description test questions. The analysis technique used the Anova test analysis. The results of the pretest and posttest showed a significant increase in students metacognitive abilities through mind mapping with the problem based learning model of the concept of environmental pollution at SMAN 7 Pekanbaru with a significance value of 0,000. Sig. (0,000) < then H0 is rejected, so it can be concluded that the metacognitive abilities of students are increased through mind mapping with problem based learning models on the concept of environmental pollution.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a quality electronic biology magazine based on the assessment of a team of experts (media experts & material experts), educational practitioners, and student responses. The type of research used is research and development (R & D) using the ADDIE development model. Data collection techniques were obtained from media expert validation questionnaires, material expert validation questionnaires, practicality questionnaires and student response questionnaires. The instruments used are validation sheets, practical sheets, and student response test sheets. The data analysis technique used is the validity of electronic magazines, practicality of electronic magazines, and student responses to the results of developing electronic magazines. The results of the validation test by the validator resulted in an average score of 4.38 which was included in the very valid category. The average score of the teacher's practicality test questionnaire, which is 4.59, is included in the very practical category. The average score of student responses is 4.53 with a very good category. These results indicate that the developed biology electronic magazine is a quality product.
