Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of Javanese language in the domain of children’s social groups in the Mataraman Area of the Blitar border. Qualitative method is utilized in this study to provide a comprehensive conception of the linguistic phenomenon accurately without any treatment given to the subject matter. As a sociolinguistic study, it aims to observe the language attitude observed in the domain of children’s social groups in the border areas. In an effort to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic, the data was collected by a field team consisting of local residents to expedite the process while still adhering to the established health protocols. It is expected that this study can facilitate policy makers in fostering and maintaining Javanese language as the mother tongue of communities located in cultural border areas. Additionally, the current study can also be utilized as input for preserving and protecting Javanese language as children’s mother tongue as the next generation of native speakers of a certain community in an effort to maintain the identity of their local culture. The results show that there is indeed a shift in language use, i.e., the use of mixed languages—a combination of Javanese Ngoko and Indonesian or a unique mix of Javanese Ngoko, Indonesian, and Malay—as observed in a conversation among siblings when they played together. There are also three major factors that are seen to influence this shift, i.e., parental, technological, and social environmental factors, where these three contribute to children’s interactions.

Abstract

Abstract

The use of ice breaking to improve the learning concentration of children aged 5-6 years at Ceria Anakku Kindergaten Semarang. The background of this study is that many children aged 5-6 years experience difficulties in maintaining concentration, with many children talking to themselves while the teacher explains, asking many questions during activities, having an unfocused perspective, moving frequently, and even daydreaming. These are characteristics of low concentration in children aged 5-6 years. One of the contributing factors is the lack of innovation in learning activities provided to increase children's concentration. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of ice breaking in improving the learning concentration of children aged 5-6 years. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The data sources consist of TK B1 and TK B2 at TK Ceria Anakku, totaling 30 children. The data in this study were obtained from observations. Chapter II Documentation. The research results indicate that the use of ice breaking can improve the learning concentration of children aged 5-6 years.

Abstract

Uncertainty regarding the duration of activities is a major factor affecting the reliability of construction project schedules. Variability in resources, field conditions, material supplies, and other technical conditions often cause deviations between planned and actual durations. Therefore, this study aims to analyze project duration using the Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) based on three-point estimates, namely optimistic (a), most likely (m), and pessimistic (b), and to visualize the duration range through Triangular Fuzzy Number representation to clarify the variation in estimates for each activity. The methods used in this study include collecting duration estimates (a, m, b) through structured interviews, calculating the Expected Time (te) for each activity, and compiling a work network using the Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) with Microsoft Project to determine the critical path and total project duration. The results of the study show that the total project duration is 170 days, with several activities on the critical path determining the project completion time, while probabilistic analysis results in a 70% chance of project completion within the target duration. The uncertainty of scheduling analysis can be resolved with a triangular fuzzy number visualization approach to extend the optimistic, most likely, and pessimistic time limits for each activity. Based on these results, this study is expected to encourage the application of PERT analysis based on three-point estimates visualized in the form of triangular distributions for each activity as a basis for setting target durations and making more realistic project acceleration decisions.
