Abstract

Objective: Analyzing the potential of differentiation learning to create problem-solving strategies is essential. This aims to evaluate the shortcomings and advantages to become findings in future research. Method: This research was conducted using bibliometric analysis and systematic review methods. The use of these two methods is carried out in order to obtain in-depth analysis through qualitative and quantitative data. Results: Based on the research that has been conducted, it is known that the trend of physics learning research with a differentiation approach through problem-solving strategies in educational articles over the past 10 years has continued to increase every year. Novelty: In accordance with the findings of the bibliometric analysis, it was obtained that one of the experience-based learning that can be integrated with the differentiation approach is the PBL (Problem Based Learning) learning model. It is recommended for future researchers to integrate PBL learning in physics with a differentiation approach as a strategy to improve problem-solving skills according to the global trend in adapting innovative learning through interactive methods.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar IPA berbasis socio scientiifc issues untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan literasi sains peserta didik SMP. Menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri atas analyze, design, develop, implement, dan evaluate. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan lembar validasi logis, angket respon peserta didik, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, soal tes keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan literasi sains. Buku ajar IPA berbasis socio scientiifc issues dikembangkan dengan divalidasi oleh validator ahli materi dan media. Implementasi menggunakan One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design yang dilakukan pada uji coba kelompok kecil kepada 9 peserta didik kelas VII dan uji coba kelompok besar kepada 1 kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Yosowilangun. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pengembangan dapat disimpulkan hasil validitas logis sebesar 93,06% dengan kriteria sangat valid, validitas empiris sebesar 91,44% dengan kriteria respon sangat positif, kepraktisan sebesar 90,01% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. efektivitas dari n-gain pretest dan posttest keterampilan berpikir kreatif sebesar 0,61 dengan kriteria sedang dan literasi sains sebesar 0,66 dengan kriteria sedang. Sehingga menghasilkan produk pengembangan yaitu buku ajar IPA berbasis socio scientific issues yang sangat valid secara logis, respon peserta didik sangat positif, sangat praktis, efektif meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan literasi sains peserta didik SMP.

Abstract

The persistently low level of science literacy among Indonesian students, as evidenced by stagnant PISA 2022 results remaining below the OECD average, underscores a critical need to transform teaching materials to be more adaptive to technological advances. This research addresses the lack of pedagogically integrated materials on technological aspects, which often hinders students' ability to interpret scientific phenomena. To bridge this gap, the study aimed to develop science learning modules based on the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework and to test their validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving junior high school students' science literacy. Following the 4D developmental model, Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate, the research involved 120 seventh-grade students from the former Besuki Residency and 25 teachers from the East Java Science Teacher Working Group. Data collection employed expert validation sheets, user-response questionnaires, and science literacy tests, which were analyzed using the Normalized Gain (N-gain) formula. The results indicated that the TPACK-based module demonstrated high validity, with a score of 88.97% from media and materials experts. In terms of practicality, the module earned an average of 90.9%, supported by a 91.55% positive student response rate. The effectiveness test demonstrated a significant increase in science literacy, with an average N-gain of 0.70 (high category), with the problem-solving indicator showing the most substantial growth. During the dissemination stage, the module was distributed digitally to the East Java Science Teacher Working Group, where validation by 25 practicing teachers yielded a 92.4% feasibility score. This study concludes that TPACK-based modules are highly effective modern instruments for enhancing scientific competence. By integrating interactive simulations and virtual laboratories, these modules overcome physical facility limitations, making them highly suitable for widespread adoption within the national science curriculum to foster a more technologically literate generation. Keywords: science literacy, students, teaching module, TPACK, the development.
