Abstract

Scientific creativity is an important competency in 21st-century science education. However, many students still show limited ability to generate original and flexible scientific ideas. This study aims to develop an environment-based augmented reality (AR) learning media and to test its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in enhancing students' scientific creativity. A research and development design using the ADDIE model was used. Participants were junior high school students who used the developed Augmented Reality media during science learning. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, observation sheets, scientific creativity tests, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the media achieved a high level of validity (90%), was very practical to implement (94%), and demonstrated moderate effectiveness in enhancing scientific creativity (N-gain = 0.68). This research contributes to the field by providing a specialized pedagogical framework that bridges abstract environmental concepts with interactive digital visualization, offering a scalable solution to stimulate divergent thinking in science classrooms. Furthermore, this study supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals Goal 3 Good Health and Well-being and Goal 4 Quality Education by enhancing students’ higher-order thinking skills through innovative technology-based learning. These findings indicate that environment-based Augmented Reality is effective in improving students’ scientific creativity and supporting sustainable development.

Abstract

Science learning at the junior secondary school level is expected to foster students’ scientific literacy and collaborative character in line with the Merdeka Curriculum. However, classroom practices still reveal a gap between these objectives and actual learning conditions. This article reports the needs analysis stage of a Research and Development (R&D) study employing the ADDIE model. The study aims to analyze the need for developing an ethnoscience-based science module grounded in the local context of Sumenep to support students’ scientific literacy and collaborative character. The needs analysis was conducted through a review of the junior secondary school science curriculum, semi-structured interviews with five science teachers, and questionnaires administered to 561 students from grades VII, VIII, and IX at SMP Negeri 1 Sumenep. The research instruments consisted of needs assessment questionnaires comprising nine items for students and eleven items for teachers. The questionnaires were developed based on scientific literacy indicators and collaborative character, validated through expert judgment, and demonstrated adequate reliability. Data were analyzed descriptively using mean scores and percentages. The results indicate that students experience difficulties in understanding science concepts, explaining scientific phenomena, and interpreting data and scientific evidence. In addition, science instruction has not been optimally integrated with local cultural contexts. Both teachers and students consistently expressed a strong need for contextual, collaborative, and ethnoscience-based science learning grounded in Sumenep local culture. The study concludes that developing an ethnoscience-based science module integrated with scientific literacy and collaborative character is necessary as a foundation for subsequent design and development stages.

Abstract

Assessment in science education does not focus solely on cognitive aspects but must also measure students’ scientific creativity as it relates to environmental contexts. The purpose of this study is to determine the content validity, item validity, reliability, discriminative power, and difficulty level of the assessment instrument developed. This assessment instrument development study utilized the Borg and Gall development model. This model consists of ten stages; however, this research only applied eight stages, namely identifying potential problems, collecting information, product design, product validation, product revision, small group testing, and field testing. The subjects of this study were 105 seventh-grade students from classes A, B, and C at Junior High School. The results of the validation of the developed product by three expert validators showed an average score of 73.2%, categorized as valid; the item validation test showed a calculated r value > the table r value, thus confirming validity. The reliability of the items was 0.78, categorized as reliable. Analysis of the items’ discriminative power showed that 28.57% of the items were in the excellent category, 42.86% were in the good category, and 28.57% were in the fair category. The distribution of item difficulty levels was 42.86% easy, 28.57% moderate, and 28.57 % difficult. The result of the study shows that the assessment instrument developed has good characteristics and is suitable for measuring scientific creativity in science education.

Abstract

Tempurejo Village in Jember Regency boasts abundant banana potential, considered one of the village's leading products. However, its utilization remains suboptimal. This community service research aims to empower women in Tempurejo Village, Jember, who are predominantly housewives, to increase family income through the diversification of processed banana products. Tempurejo Village has significant potential as a center for banana production and collection, but local processed banana products are still traditional, lack branding, and face limited marketing knowledge. Using a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, the activities were carried out through stages of team formation, objective formulation, stakeholder identification, needs analysis, problem prioritization, preparation, material implementation, and practical training. A total of 30 housewives were trained to produce economically valuable banana processed products such as crispy banana nuggets, molten bananas (pisang lumer), and banana toast (pisang roti tawar). Furthermore, the training also covered packaging skills, the creation of the "Pisang Juara Tempurejo" brand, and offline marketing strategies (booth design) as well as online marketing through social media (Facebook, WhatsApp Business, Instagram). Targeted outputs include increased participation and skills of the housewives, three production guide modules, one branding logo, and one booth design along with social media accounts. This program is expected to improve the economic well-being of village women, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to women's empowerment and food security

Abstract

This community service program aims to optimize the potential of MSME Terasi Puger No. 1 in Puger Kulon Village, Jember, through improvements in production management and digital marketing strategies. The program employed a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach involving the owner and workers in training, mentoring, and direct implementation. The interventions included the application of lean manufacturing (5S), the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for occupational safety, hygiene, and sanitation, the provision of safety equipment, the introduction of vacuum-sealed packaging with a redesigned logo, and the utilization of e-commerce platforms and social media supported by simple accounting software. The results indicate measurable performance improvements, including the establishment of standardized production procedures, improved organization of raw material and product storage, consistent use of personal protective equipment, and safer workplace conditions. The adoption of airtight packaging enhanced product durability and reduced the risk of contamination during distribution. Marketing performance improved through the activation of online sales channels, diversified packaging sizes (100 g, 0.5 kg, and 1 kg), and expanded market access beyond previous distribution areas that were limited to intermediary-based sales in Jember, Banyuwangi, and Lumajang. In addition, systematic financial recording enabled better monitoring of operational costs and revenues. In conclusion, the integration of clean production management, packaging innovation, and digital marketing strengthened operational efficiency, broadened market reach, and improved business competitiveness, contributing to the long-term sustainability of the enterprise.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education requires teachers to possess adequate competencies in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support adaptive and data-driven learning. However, preliminary observations at SMA Negeri 1 Ngoro Mojokerto indicated that AI utilization in classroom practices remained limited. This community service program was therefore implemented as a participatory training initiative to strengthen teachers’ competence in integrating AI into teaching and learning activities. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) framework as a method for implementing community service, consisting of planning, implementation, reflection, and evaluation stages. Program outcomes were evaluated through comparisons of teachers’ competency scores before and after the training, complemented by observations and reflective discussions. The results demonstrated an increase of more than 45% in teachers’ average competency scores across knowledge, skills, and attitudes toward AI integration. In addition, 85% of teachers successfully developed AI-integrated lesson plans (RPP), and 70% implemented them in classroom learning. Qualitative findings further revealed the emergence of an internal teacher learning community and a shift toward more adaptive and innovative teaching practices. These findings suggest that contextual, practical, and participatory training is an effective strategy for building teachers' capacity to respond to educational challenges in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA menuntut siswa untuk memiliki kompetensi diantaranya Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, dan Scientific Creativity. Namun, masih banyak siswa yang menunjukkan keterbatasan dalamm keterampilan Scientific Creativity karena metode pembelajaran yang tidak mendukung secara optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan E-modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis lingkungan untuk meningkatkan Scientific Creativity siswa SMP. Penelitian ini mengembangkan metode pengebangan dengan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahapan yakni analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. E-modul yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh para ahli dan diujicobaakan pada siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri 1 Arjasa. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar validasi, observasi keterlaksanaan, portofolio Scientific Creativity, dan angket respon siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik persentase dan nilai N-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa E-modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis lingkungan yang dikembangkan dengan persentase kevalidan sebesar 91% dikategorikan sangat valid. Kepraktisan E-modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis lingkungan berdasarkan observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran mencapai skor 91,4% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Keefektifan E-modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis lingkungan adanya peningkatan keterampilan Scientific Creativity siswa dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,63 dengan kategori baik dan respon siswa sebesar 87% dengan kategori sangat baik. Kesimpulannya, E-modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis lingkungan ini dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif digunakan sebagai bahan ajar penunjang kegiatan pembelajaran IPA di SMP

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis lingkungan untuk meningkatkan scientific creativity siswa pada pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (RD) dengan model ADDIE yang mencakup tahap analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas seorang guru IPA sebagai validator dan 30 siswa kelas VII F SMP Negeri 1 Arjasa sebagai peserta uji coba. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar validasi ahli, observasi keterlaksanaan, test pretest dan posttest serta angket respon siswa. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berada pada kategori sangat valid dengan persentase kelayakan 89%. Kepraktisan LKPD juga tergolong sangat valid dengan persentase rata-rata keterlaksanaan pembelajaran sebesar 89%. Efektivitas ditunjukkan melalui nilai N-gain sebesar 0,74 yang termasuk kategori tinggi, mengindikasikan peningkatan signifikan pada scientific creativity siswa setelah menggunakan LKPD. Respon siswa terhadap LKPD berada pada kategori baik dengan rata-rata 71%, yang menunjukkan bahwa LKPD mudah dipahami dan menarik digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Secara keseluruhan, LKPD berbasis lingkungan terbukti layak, praktis, dan efektif untuk diterapkan sebagai bahan ajar guna meningkatkan scientific creativity siswa SMP pada materi IPA
