Abstract

ABSTRACT: This research aimed to reveal which have a better mathematics achievement of students taught by cooperative learning model of TAI type using CTL, those taught by cooperative learning model of TAI type, or those taught by conventional learning model based on the students’ learning activeness. This research was a quasi-experimental research with the 3x3 factorial design. The population was all the 7rd grader studens of SMP Negeri in Karanganyar regency on academic year 2011/2012. The techniques of data collection were documentation, questionnaires and test method. Prior to balance test, a pre-requisite tests analysis (normality and homogenity test). The proposed hypotheses of the research were tested by using the unbalanced two ways analysis of variance and multiple comparative test with the Sceffe’s test. The result indicates: (1) the mathematics achievement of students taught by cooperative learning model of TAI type using CTL was better than that of students taught by cooperative learning model of TAI type and that of students taught by conventional learning model, and the mathematics achievement of students taught by cooperative learning model of TAI type was better than that of students taught by conventional learning model, (2) the mathematics achievement of the students wth high learning activeness was better than that of students with middle and low learning activeness, and the mathematics achievement of the students wth middle learning activeness was better than that of students with low learning activeness, (3) in the TAI using CTL, the mathematics achievement of the students with high learning activeness was as good as that of the students with the middle learning activeness or the low learning activeness, and in the TAI and in the conventional learning model, the mathematics achievement of the students with the high learning activeness was better than that of the students with the low learning activeness, but was the same that of the students with the middle learning activeness, meanwhile, the mathematics achievement of the students with the middle learning activeness was the same that of the students with the low learning activeness, and (4) in the high learning activeness, the students taught by cooperative learning of the TAI type using CTL, those taught by cooperative learning of the TAI type, and those taught by conventional learning model have the same mathematics achievement, meanwhile, in the middle learning activeness and in the low learning activeness, the mathematics achievement of the students taught by cooperative learning model of TAI type using CTL was better than that of the students taught by conventional learning model, but was the same that of the students taught by cooperative learning model of the TAI type, and the mathematics achievement of the students taught by cooperative learning model of TAI type was the same that of the students taught by conventional learning model. Abstract

ABSTRACT: The aims of the research were to determine the effect of learning models on learning achievement viewed from students’ learning styles. The learning models compared were cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) with Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach, Numbered Heads Together (NHT) and conventional. This research was a quasi-experimental research using factorial design of 3x3. The population of the research were all students of the Public Junior High Schools (SMP Negeri) in Salatiga City. The samples of the research were seven grade students of SMP Negeri 2, SMP Negeri 5 and SMP Negeri 7 in Salatiga City (85 students for for first experimental class, 83 students for second experimental class, and 86 students for control class). The samples were chosen by using stratified cluster random sampling. In collecting the data, the instruments used were multiple-choice test of learning achievement in mathematics and student learning style questionnaire. The technique of analyzing the data was unbalanced two-ways Anova. The results of the research are as follows: (1) the cooperative learning model NHT with RME approach and cooperative learning model NHT result in the same good learning achievement in mathematics, and both result in a better learning achievement in mathematics than the conventional learning model; (2) there are no any differences in the learning achievement in mathematics of the students with the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles; (3) in each learning style, the cooperative learning model NHT with RME approach and cooperative learning model NHT result in the same good learning achievement in mathematics, and both result in a better learning achievement in Mathematics than the conventional learning model; (4) in each learning model, the students with the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles have the same learning achievement in mathematics. Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research was to find out the  effect of learning models (STAD, Jigsaw, and conventional) on mathematics achievement viewed from  learning motivation. The type of research was a quasi experimental research with the factorial design of 3x3. The population was the students in grade X Senior High School in Madiun City. The samples of the research were taken by using the stratified cluster random sampling technique. The samples of the research consisten of 257 students. Instruments used to collect data were prior knowledge test, mathematics achievement test, and motivation quetioner. The trial of instrument test includes of content validity, difficullty level, discrimination power, and reliability. Test requirements included normality test used Lilliefors method and the homogenity test used the Bartlett test. The Balance test used unbalance one way analysis of variance. The hypothesis test used unbalanced two ways analysis of variance. The conclusions of the research were as follows: (1) the STAD and Jigsaw learning models result in the same good learning achievement in mathematics and both result in a better learning achievement in mathematics than the conventional learning model. (2) the learning achievement in mathematics toward high motivation and low one were equally well, high achievement motivation  learning was better than low motivation. (3) for students who taugh by cooperative learning model of STAD, Jigsaw and conventional, the learning achievement in mathematics toward high motivation and low one were equally well, high achievement motivation  learning was better than low motivation. (4) in the each motivation learning the students with high, medium, and low,  the STAD and Jigsaw learning models result in the same good learning achievement in mathematics and both result in a better learning achievement in mathematics than the conventional learning model. Abstract

Abstract:The aims of the research were to determine the effect of learning models on learning achievement viewed from student’s algebra count ability. The learning models compared were cooperative learning (Numbered Heads Together (NHT) with instrumental musical accompaniment & NHT) and direct learning. The research typewasaquasi-experimental research.The research’s population wasthe 7th-grade students of the State Junior High Schools in Magelang Regency.It’s sampleswere takenby using stratified cluster random sampling techniquewhichconsisted of 97 students in the first experiment group, 99 students in the second experiment group, and 96 students in the control group.The datawas analyzed by using the unbalanced two-ways analysis of variance at the significance level of 0.05.The results of this research are as follows: (1) the both cooperative learningmodels result in the same goodlearning achievement, but its resultin a better learning achievement than the direct learning model; (2) the learning achievement of the students with the high level of algebra count ability is better than that of those with the medium and the low levels of it, the learning achievement of the students with the medium level of algebra count ability is better than that of those with the low level of it; (3) in each levelsof algebra count ability shows thatthe both cooperative learningmodels result in the same good learning achievement, but its result in a better learning achievement than the direct learning model; (4) in each learning model shows that the learning achievement of the students with the high level of algebra count ability is better than that of those with the medium and the low levels of it, the learning achievement of the students with the medium level of algebra count ability is better than that of those with the low levelof it. Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning methods on mathematics achievement viewed from the student intelligence level. The learning methods compared were problem posing with CTL approach, problem posing and conventional. The type of the research was quasi experimental research. The population was all of students in the seventh grade of Junior High School in Purworejo in the academic year of 2012/2013. The sample of this research was taken by using stratified cluster random sampling. The sample was consisted of 177 students with 90 students in the first experiment class, 95 students in the second experiment class, and 92 students in the control class. The data of  the research were gathered through documentation and test. The result of research showed that: (1) students’ learning achivement by using problem posing learning method with CTL approach was better than students’ learning achivement by using problem posing method and conventional learning, and students’ learning achivement by problem posing learning method was same as conventional learning method, (2) mathematics achievement of students with high intelligence level was better than that of students with medium and low intelligence level, and mathematics achievement of students with medium intelligence level was better than that of students with low intelligence level, (3) in learning by using problem posing learning method with CTL approach, the level of intelligence had the same effect in students’ learning achievement, in learning by using problem posing method, students with high intelligence level had performance as good as the students with medium intelligence level and were better than the students with low intelligence level, in learning by using conventional learning, students with high intelligence level had better learning achivement than students with medium intelligence level and low intelligence level, and learning achievement of students with medium intelligence level was the same as students with low intelligence level, (4) at the level of students’ intelligence with high, medium and low, problem posing learning method with CTL approach, problem posing learning method and conventional method produced the same effect in learning achievement. Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research are to investigate: (1) which one that is more effective in teaching geometry, the STAD type of cooperative learning model with Power Point media or that with Geometrical Model media or that with Conventional media, (2) which learning style results in a better learning achievement and (3) which media used in the STAD learning model results in a better learning achievement in each learning style of the students.This research used the quasi-experimental method. The population of this research was the 9th-grade students of the state junior secondary schools in Ngawi regency in the academic year of 2012/2013. The samples of this research consisted of 250 students who were divided into 85 students of the first experiment class, 83 students of the second experiment class, and 82 students of the control class. The samples were taken by using stratified cluster random sampling. The data of this research were gathered through documentation, test, and questionnaire. The hypothesis of this research were tested by using unbalanced Two-way Analysis of Variance. Conclusions drawn are as follows: (1) the STAD learning model with the Power Point media is better than the STAD learning models with the Geometrical Model and the Conventional media whereas the STAD learning model with the Geometrical Model media is equal to the STAD learning model with the Conventional media; (2) the students with the kinesthetic learning style have a better learning achievement than those with the visual and auditory learning styles whereas the students with the visual learning style have an equal learning achievement to those with the auditory learning style; (3) the STAD learning model with the Power Point media results in a better learning achievement than that with the Conventional media whereas the STAD learning model with the Power Point media results in an equal learning achievement to that with the Geometrical Model media and the STAD learning model with the Power Point media results in an equal learning achievement to that with the Conventional media in the visual learning style; (4) the STAD learning model with the all of the three types of media results in an equal learning achievement in the auditory learning style; and (5) the STAD learning model with the Geometrical Model media results in a better learning achievement than that with the Conventional media whereas the STAD learning model with the Power Point media results in an equal learning achievement to that with the Geometrical Model media and the STAD learning model with the Power Point media results in an equal learning achievement to that with the Conventional media in the kinesthetic learning style.Keywords: STAD, Power Point media, Geometrical Model media and learning style.

Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) wich learning model of Think Pair Share (TPS), Team Assisted Individualization (TAI), or conventional learning model results in a better learning achievement in Mathematics, (2) which learning interest of the high learning interest, the moderate learning interest, and the low learning interest results in a better learning achievement in Mathematics,(3) in the students with the high, moderate, and low learning interests, wich learning model of Think Pair Share (TPS), Team Assisted Individualization (TAI), and conventional learning model results in a better learning achievement in Mathematics. This research used the quasi experimental research method with the factorial design of 3x3. The population of the research were the students of Vocational High School (SMK) in Ponorogo regency on Academic Year 2011/2012. The samples of the research were taken by using the stratified cluster random sampling technique. It was conducted at SMK 1 of Ponorogo, SMK Bakti of Ponorogo, and SMK Sore 1 of Ponorogo. The samples included two experimental classes and one control class of each of the schools. The size of the sample was 275 students consisted of 84 students in the first experimental class, 105 sudents in the second experimental class and 86 students in control class. The data of the research were gathered through mathematics achievement tes and quetionary of learning interest. The data was analyzed by using two-way analysis of variance with.The results of the reseach are as follows: (1) both TPS and TAI result in the same good learning achievement in Mathematics, and result in a better learning achievement than the conventional one does; (2) the students with the higher learning interest have a better learning achievement in Mathematics than those with the moderate learning interest and the low learning interest, but the students with the moderat learning interest have the same learning achievement in Mathematics those with the low learning interest; (3) in the students with the high, moderat, and low learning interest, both TPS and TAI result in the same good learning achievement in Mathematics, and result in a better learning achievement than the conventional one does.Key words: Think Pair Share, Team Assisted Individualization, Conventional, Learning Interest

Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this research is to describe the level of Junior High School students’ creativity in solving divergent mathematical problem viewed from the students’ learning style.This study was qualitative descriptive reasearch. The subject of this research was 9 students from the ninth grade of MTSN Plupuh consisting of 4 students had visual learning style, 3 students had auditorial learning style, and 2 students had kinesthetic learning style. The researcher used purposive sampling and snowball method to select the subject. In collecting data, the researcher used grouping test in learning style, problem solving test of divergent mathematics, and interview. To techniques of data analysis in this research were as follows: (1) reducing data, (2) present of data in narrative text, (3) To conclude the level of students’ creativity at each learning style. The validity of data used time triangulation.Based on the research result, there are two findings as follows: main findings and other findings. The main findings shows that (1) the students with visual and auditorial learning styles can eligible to indicators of creativity, fluently and flexibility, so that those students have the third level of creativity (creative) in solving divergent mathematical problem, (2) While, the students with kinesthetic learning style can eligible to indicators of creativity, namely fluently. So that those students have the first level of creativity (less creative) in solving divergent mathematical problem. Then, the other findings data shows that (1) there are two students with visual learning style are identified having the second level (quite creative) and the forth level (very creative) of creativity in solving divergent mathematical problem, (2) while there is one student with auditorial learning style is identified not creative (level 0). Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the students’ learning styles affect to students’ creativity, so that the teacher should know and understand students’ learning style in order to determine the best method of learning process. Abstract

Abstract. The aims of the research were to determine: (1) which one has better learning achievement, Jigsaw learning model, TGT, or conventional, (2) which one has better learning achievement, students with high, middle or low intrapersonal, (3) based on learning model, which one has better learning achievement, students with high, middle, or low intrapersonal intelligence, (4) based on intrapersonal intelligence, which one has better learning achievement, Jigsaw learning model, TGT, or conventional. The type of the research was a quasi-experimental research with  a 3 x 3 factorial design. The population was XI science  students  of Senior High School in Kudus regency on academic year 2013/2014. Sampling was done by stratified cluster random sampling. The size of the sample were 277 students consisted of 95 students in the first experimental group, 87 students in the second and 95 for the control class. The instruments used were mathematics  achievement test and  intrapersonal intelligence questionnaire. The hypotheses testing used unbalanced two ways ANOVA. Based on hypothesis testing, it can be concluded as follow. (1) Student learning achievement  treated by TGT  is better than Jigsaw  and conventional, and Jigsaw model is better than conventional, (2) Learning achievement of students who have high intrapersonal intelligence is better than students who have middle and low intrapersonal intelligence, and students who have middle intrapersonal intelligence is better than students who have low intrapersonal intelligence, (3) Based on  all types of learning models,    students who have high intrapersonal intelligence have better learning achievement than students who have middle and low intrapersonal intelligence, and students who have  middle intrapersonal intelligence have better learning achievement than student  who have low intrapersonal intelligence. (4)  For high intrapersonal intelligence, students learning achievement treated by TGT is better than Jigsaw, for both learning models,  Jigsaw  and conventional have the same learning achievement. For middle intrapersonal intelligence, students learning achievement treated by TGT  is better than conventional, while both learning models,  Jigsaw and conventional have the same learning achievement. For low intrapersonal intelligence,  conventional and TGT are better than Jigsaw, while both learning models, TGT and conventional have the same learning achievement.Keywords: Jigsaw, TGT,  intrapersonal intelligence, learning achievement.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning models on mathematics achievement viewed from the students attitude towards mathematics. The learning model compared were 4Ex2, LC 5E and conventional learning model. Data analysis techniques used to test the hypothesis was two-way analysis of variance with unbalanced cells. The conclusions of the research were as follows. 1) The learning achievement in Mathematics of the students exposed to the 4Ex2 learning model are better than LC 5E learning model and conventional learning model, and  the learning achievement in Mathematics of the students exposed to the LC 5E learning model are better than conventional learning model. 2) The learning achievement in Mathematics of the students with the high attitudes toward Mathematics are better than that of the students with the medium and low attitudes toward Mathematics, and the learning achievement in Mathematics of the students with the medium attitudes toward Mathematics are better than that of the students with the low attitudes toward Mathematics. 3) In the 4Ex2 learning model, the learning achievement in Mathematics of the students with the high attitudes toward Mathematics are better than medium and low attitudes toward Mathematics, and the learning achievement in Mathematics of the students with the medium attitudes toward Mathematics are better than low attitudes toward Mathematics. In the LC 5E learning model, the learning achievement in Mathematics of the students with the high attitudes toward Mathematics are better than medium and low attitudes toward Mathematics, the learning achievement in Mathematics of the students with the medium attitudes toward Mathematics are the same as low attitudes toward Mathematics. In the conventional learning model, the learning achievement in Mathematics of the students with the high attitudes toward Mathematics are the same as medium attitudes toward Mathematics, the learning achievement in Mathematics of the students with the high and medium attitudes toward Mathematics are better than low attitudes toward Mathematics. 4) In the students with the high attitudes toward Mathematics the learning achivement of the students exposed to the LC 5E learning model are the same as 4Ex2 learning model and the conventional learning model, the learning achievement in Mathematics of the students exposed to the 4Ex2 learning model are better than conventional learning model, and both in the students with the medium attitudes toward Mathematics and in those with the low attitudes toward Mathematics, students exposed to the 4Ex2 learning model, LC 5E learning model, and conventional learning model result in the same learning achievement in Mathematics.Keywords: Learning model, 4Ex2, LC 5E, attitudes toward Mathematics, learning achievement in Mathematics.
