Abstract

Law students at Syiah Kuala University (USK) face significant challenges in planning their careers, mainly due to a lack of understanding of career opportunities in the legal field and limited access to career counseling services. This condition often results in uncertainty in career decision-making, which has an impact on anxiety and academic performance. This community service activity aims to provide a solution through the implementation of a structured career counseling program. The method used is descriptive quantitative research which includes individual counseling sessions and assessments using inventory tests, in the form of The Student Career Construction Inventory (SCCI), Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ) and Color Personality Test. The results of this community service activity indicate that some students gain increased knowledge and understanding related to the career they want to achieve. In addition, there are mental health conditions and personalities that also show a relationship with the need for career counseling in students.

Abstract

Social acceptance is a crucial factor that every individual needs to have, especially children with special needs, so that they are more valued and feel needed by others in close relationships, namely in social groups. Research on social acceptance among peers in students with special needs is interesting to explore more deeply, especially regarding how they feel accepted and integrated in social groups in the school environment. This study aims to analyze the relationship between social acceptance and empathy towards peers among students with special needs in inclusive schools. A total of 125 students from Banda Aceh City State Junior High School aged 12-16 years old (mean=13.6; SD=0.86) selected by convenience sampling technique filled out the Social Acceptance Scale (SAS) instrument and the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) instrument which had been adapted into Indonesian. Data was analyzed using Pearson Correlation and showed that there was a correlation between social acceptance in the perspective taking dimension (r=0.287, p=0.001) and the empathic concern dimension (r=0.418, p=.001). However, there is no correlation between social acceptance in the fantasy dimension (r=0.150, p=0.095), and the personal distress dimension (r=0.106, p=0.240). The research findings also explain that both male and female students have high social acceptance. This has a positive impact on others, especially on students with special needs.

Abstract

Healthcare workers in developing countries, such as Indonesia, experience significant psychological stress due to heavy workloads, limited resources, and systemic inefficiencies, all of which negatively impact their psychological well-being (PWB). The aim of this study was to investigate the direct and indirect effects of quality of work life (QWL) on PWB, with meaningful work (MW) as a mediating variable. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 285 healthcare professionals from various healthcare facilities, including specialists, general practitioners, and nurses. Data were collected using validated scales to assess QWL, MW, and PWB. Pearson correlation analysis was employed to examine relationships among variables, while mediation analysis tested direct and indirect effects. The results indicate that QWL positively influences PWB both directly (β=0.22, p<0.001) and indirectly through MW (β=0.13, p<0.001). Furthermore, MW was found to be a strong mediator (β=0.61, p<0.001), underscoring its critical role in enhancing purpose and resilience. Specialists reported the highest QWL and PWB, whereas nurses exhibited the lowest levels, highlighting occupational disparities. These findings suggest that enhancing the QWL and fostering MW can significantly improve healthcare professionals' PWB. Accordingly, organizations should prioritize strategies that promote MW and improve work-life conditions to support mental well-being and job satisfaction.

Abstract

Various problems that occur in dual earner families can affect the wellbeing of family members, therefore this study aims to determine the relationship between couple resilience and wellbeing in dual earner families. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlation method involving 50 couples as research samples.Data collection employed simple one-stage cluster sampling, and the data were gathered using two scales: the Couple Resilience Inventory (CRI) and the Centeredness Theory Scale (CT Scale). Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman correlation technique. The research findings indicate that several dimensions of couple resilience have a positive correlation with wellbeing. Specifically as follows: the correlation between couple resilience and husbands and wives wellbeing is (r= 0.292), the correlation between couple resilience and husbands wellbeing is (r = 0.464), and the correlation between couple resilience and wives wellbeing is (r = 0.377). Conversely, negative correlations were found between wive,s positive couple resilience and husbands wellbeing (r = -0.464), husbands positive couple resilience and husbands wellbeing (r = -0.514), and wives negative couple resilience and wives wellbeing (r = -0.427). No significant relationships were found between wives negative couple resilience and husbands wellbeing, as well as between husbands positive couple resilience and wives wellbeing.

Abstract

Research on dispositional forgiveness has primarily concentrated on the intraindividual level. The aim of this study is to analyze dispositional forgiveness using ecological systems theory, with a systematic review and thematic analysis technique. A literature search was performed from 2018 to 2025 in a range of electronic databases: Scopus, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct. Of 26,550 results from the searches, 15 articles fulfilled the inclusion criteria and were chosen for analysis. Thematic analysis indicates that dispositional forgiveness research is primarily undertaken within the microsystem, including personality, well-being, resilience, self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, self-acceptance, attachment and anxiety. Studies on macrosystem dimensions, involving cultural and historical variables that determine individual forgiveness, are limited. Researchers can use the findings of this study as a reference to perform exploratory research on cultural values and historical circumstances that influence forgiveness attributes. Empirical research is also needed, particularly on children. Keywords: dispositional forgiveness; ecological systems theory; microsystem; systematic review
