ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by less students are responsible for completing the tasks assigned teacher and students are less motivated to follow the learning of mathematics as well as students understanding of mathematical conceptual are still low. This research was aimed at revealing whether the use of Prediction Guide strategies could give a better effect on the studentsâ understanding on mathematics conceptual than the conventional one in class VII MTsN Lubuk Buaya Padang.This was an experimental research which used random research design toward the subject. The instrument used in this research is a test in studentsâ understanding on mathematics conceptual. Based on the result of data analysis, it was revealed that the sample was distributed normally and had homogeny variant. Hypothesis test results obtained t=2,09 was bigger than  indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. So, it was concluded that the application of Prediction Guide strategies could improve the studentsâ understanding on mathematics conceptual, and better than the conventional one.

ABSTRACTThe research was conducted based on the fact which indicated the (1) low students ability to interact each others, (2) low students comprehension about mathematical concept and (3) low students achievement in mathematical subject. The purpose of this research was to know whether the students treated by Practice-Rehearsal Pairs strategy have better comprehension of mathematical concept than those who are treated by conventional strategy in SMA PGRI 1 Padang. This was an experimental research which used random sampling. The population was the X grade students in which X1 was the experimental class while the X4 class was the control class. The hypotheses was tested by using t-test. It was found that t-obtained (4.67)> t-table (1.67). Thus, the hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that the students treated by Practice-Rehearsal Pairs strategy had better mathematical comprehension than those who treated the conventional strategy.

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted based on the fact indicating that the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept was`stiil low, and the students had less concern on the teacherâs explanation. This research was aimed at revealing whether the use of Listening Team active learning strategy could give better effect on the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept than that of the conventional learning in class XI IPS SMAN 2 Bayang. This was an exsperimental research which used random sampling technique. In this research class XI IPS.3 was`chosen as the experimental class, and class XI IPS.4 as the control one.the instrument of the research was a post-test. The test was in the form of essay whose r11 was 0,819. The data gotten was analyzed by using t-test assisted with MINITAB. Based on the result of hypothesis test, it was found that P-value (0,000) was smaller than α (0,05) indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Thus, it was concluded that the use of Listening Team active learning strategy could improve the studentâ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of the conventional learning in class XI IPS of SMAN 2 Bayang.

ABSTRACT The research was appeared because of an understanding of mathematical concepts students are still low. The research aims to determine which one is better technique will be implemented to the students of class VIII, SMP N 1 Sitiung in the academic period of 2013/2014. The alternative techniques are make a match technique or conventional technique. The type of this research is a random design experiment to subject. The population is all of student from class VII in SMPN 1 Sitiung that has registered in the academic period of 2013-2014. The sample of the research is class of VIIID as experiment class and class of VIIIF as the control class. The instrument of the research is the last with a score of realibility is 0,795. Based of the result data analysis found that the average student learning outcomes in experiment class is 74,99 and the outcome is higher than outcome from control class that is 38,24. Data is analyzed with t-test that obtained tcount = 10,90 and ttable = 1,67. The hypothesis can be accepted. So, it can be concluded that studentâs understanding of mathematical concepts using cooperative learning model is better than conventional technique in class VIII, SMPN 1 Sitiung.Â

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low. This type of research is experimental, the research design pre eksperimental design : static group comparison. The population in this research is the students in grade VIII SMPN 14 Padang. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, that takes into account the characteristics of the students and teachers of mathematics are the same . Characteristic in question is the grade VIII.5 and VIII.6 an unruly class , noise . Nonetheless VIII.5 class and VIII.6 have good creativity , which is chosen as the experimental class is a class VIII.5 as VIII.6 control class. Instruments used in this study is the final test. Form of essay tests, results of the analysis items show about the final test reliable. The data analysis technique used is the one side test with the help of MINITAB software. Based on the results of the final test data analysis can be found P-value=0,002 is less than α=0,05, so that hypothesis is approved. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying Teknik Pasar VIII.5 SMPN 14 Padang grade better than students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning models VIII.6 grade SMPN 14 Padang.

ABSTRACTThis study was motivated by an understanding of mathematical concepts class VII students of SMP Negeri 11 Padang is still low , and the learning of mathematics is difficult and tedious . This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts using learning techniques wheel of chance better than studentâs understanding of mathematical concepts by applying  conventional learning in the classroom SMP Negeri 11 Padang. This research is an experimental study with randomized research design of the subject. The instrument used was the final test. From of the best used is the essay with reliability = 0,8988. The result obtained from testing the hypothesis t = 2,32 and t table = 1,699, t count > t table then hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts  by applying using techniques that wheel of fortune better than the mathematical ability of students understanding of concepts with conventional learning in the classroom SMP Negeri 11 Padang.

Abstract This research is motivated by the students mathematical concepts understanding are still low. This research is head for determine whethert students mathematical concepts understanding by using active learning The Power of Two and Four Type is better than students mathematical concepts understanding taught by conventional learning. Type of this reaserch is experimental reaserch, with the Random Research design toward the subject. The population of this research is VIII class students of the SMPN 27 Padang in lessons 2013/2014. Technique of the sampling is the random ways, and the selected as the sample class is VIII.6 as experimental class and VIII.4 as control class. Instrument used in this reaserch is the last test of the matematic concept understanding. The test form used is essay form with reliabilities test is ,88. The data analysis technique used is the one side test with the help of MINITAB software, hypothesis test results P-value=0,004 is less than α=0,05, so the hypothesis of this research is accepted and with the resault can be inferred that students matematic concept understanding by applying the active learning the power of two and four type is better than student matematic concept understanding taught by conventional learning the VIII class students of the SMPN 27 Padang.

This research was aimed at revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the studentsâtaught by using Everyone Is A Teacher active learning was better than that of studentsâ taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. Based on the result of data analysis it was found that the two sample classes were normally distributed and homogenous. Furthermore, the result of t-test indicated that the value of  was higher than  in which α was 0.05. this result showed that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the studentsâ taught by using Everyone Is A Teacher active learning was better than of studentsâ taught by using conventional learning in class XI IPA SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo registered in academic year 2013/2014.

ABSTRACTThe background of this research by the student in learning individually andstudenâs comprehension mathematical concept still low at the seventh grade of SMPN 27 Padang.. This research is an experiment research, with random research designon the subject. Researchâs population is all of student at the seventh grade of SMPN 27 Padang who registerin academic year 2013/2014. Researchâs sample is class VII.1 as an experiment class, and VII.2 as a control class, researchâs instrument isan essay test, with reliabilitas test r11 is 0,87. hypothesis result is P-value = 0,003, it means that is smaller than  so hypothesis on this research is accepted. The conclusion that studentâs comprehension mathematical that uses Two Stay Two Stray Technique is better than convensional learning by the student at the seventh grade of SMPN 27 Padang.

 ABSTRACT The background of This research is students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low, inactive, unwilling to issue an opinion, and do not want to ask one way around that is to implement a strategy PQ4R. This study aims to look at the activity in the learning of mathematics students and whether students understanding of mathematical concepts using PQ4R strategy better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning. This type of research is experimental research, the research design Against Random subject. The study population students of class VIII SMPN 11 South Solok academic year 2013/2014. Technique of random sampling, VIII.1 class was selected as the experimental class and the control class VIII.2. The instrument used in this study is the ultimate test of understanding of mathematical concepts and observation of student activity sheets. Form of the test used was obtained about the form of essays and reliable. The data analysis technique used is the t test of the party with the help of MINITAB software. Based on the analysis of data it is known that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples at significance level α = 0.05. Hypothesis test results obtained P-value = 0.001 less than the significance level α = 0.05, the research hypothesis is accepted so it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts using PQ4R strategy better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts using conventional learning class VIII SMP 11 South Solok, at 95% confidence level .
