Abstract

This research was motivated by providing stimulation to grade 1 students at SDN Bugangan 03 regarding cooperation and improving learning outcomes for students. The aim of this research is to stimulate the ability to collaborate between grade 1 students so as to create an environment that cares for each other and is able to work together and the impact of collaboration between students. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. The research results show that by learning using the Team Games Tournament (TGT) method, students become more enthusiastic in participating in the learning process because of the competition created to motivate students to compete with each other. Apart from that, students are also more active in solving existing problems. This change in attitude can be seen from the results of the attitude assessment carried out by the teacher. Based on the results of the tests carried out, it shows that the learning outcomes obtained by students are better. This can be seen from the results of evaluations carried out by students which are getting better and improving.

Abstract

The implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka in Indonesia emphasizes curriculum adaptation based on students’ needs, institutional characteristics, and local contexts. Key mediating principles—focus, alignment, and flexibility—guide curriculum execution across classroom, school, district, and national levels. This study investigates school principals’ perceptions of these principles and explores their mediation strategies in preparing for curriculum implementation. This qualitative exploratory case study involved nine purposively selected principals from elementary, junior high, and senior high schools in three residencies of Central Java (Semarang, Pati, and Pekalongan). Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and document analysis, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. Triangulation, member checking, and expert validation were employed to ensure credibility and trustworthiness.Principals demonstrated positive perceptions of the Kurikulum Merdeka’s mediating principles. At the classroom level, strategies focused on student-centered learning and literacy activities. At the school level, internal collaboration and professional learning communities supported alignment with local needs. District-level mediation involved cooperation with education offices and stakeholder forums. At the national level, principals simplified policy directives through infographics and digital media. Curriculum leadership played a central role in aligning policy with practice. The study highlights how curriculum leadership facilitates the integration of national policies into local school contexts through multi-level mediation strategies. Differences in implementation were noted across school levels, particularly in stakeholder engagement and assessment practices. To ensure sustainable and contextual implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka, targeted curriculum leadership training—especially for elementary school principals—is recommended.

Abstract

Science learning should be carried out using scientific principles, including scientific attitudes, science process skills, and basic science concepts. This study aims to determine the profile of science process skills of grade XI students on the concept of Sound Waves at SMA Negeri 1 Ngawen. This study is a quantitative study with the Research and Development (R&D) method. Data were obtained by testing using the KPS assessment instrument including 6 indicators, namely observing, classifying, predicting, measuring and using numbers, concluding and communicating. The results showed that 1.47% of students were categorized as good, 19.12% were categorized as sufficient, 20.59% were categorized as less and 58.85% were in the category of very less.

Abstract

Students' ability to analyze abstract topics using their critical thinking skills depends on their understanding of the related concepts. Many science concepts are not well-developed, leading to misconceptions among many students. The mixed-methods approach in this study involved administering a diagnostic test within a quantitative framework, followed by the researcher providing assessments and justifications, along with each student's level of confidence. In the qualitative methodology, the researcher conducted interviews with several students to gather data on the underlying causes of misconceptions regarding electricity. Based on the overall results of the students' answers, the percentage of students who experienced misconceptions about the electricity material was 18% and was classified as low. Meanwhile, the results of the students' answers to each question showed that the percentage of misconceptions most frequently experienced by students was for question number four, which had a 38% response rate, with the question indicator explaining changes in electrical energy. According to one of the students' answers, they experienced misconceptions because the multiple-choice options provided incorrect answers, and the reasons for these incorrect answers were also incorrect. However, the student was confident in their answer, resulting in a CRI score greater than 2.5, which falls into the high category. Some students experience misconceptions because the concepts they receive from teachers are not fully understood, the learning methods used by teachers are not yet able to bridge students who have limitations in understanding and differences in learning styles, the use of textbooks by teachers in learning does not provide a comprehensive or complete explanation so that children feel they have a piecemeal understanding, and the learning activities carried out by teachers in developing skills and collaboration between students are not yet fully apparent.

Abstract

This research lays the groundwork for developing an integrated STEM-based science e-module on energy material for Grade VIII students. The study aims to analyze the presence of STEM components—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—and scientific literacy in Grade VIII science textbooks covering energy topics. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research examines the energy material presented in the Grade VIII science textbook published by the Center for Books, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The analysis reveals that the science component dominates the discussion, while technology, engineering, and mathematics are largely absent. Regarding scientific literacy, the textbook presents energy concepts primarily by explaining science as knowledge and its applications in society. However, elements related to scientific inquiry, historical contributions, and science as a way of thinking are not integrated into the material

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning devices with a project-based learning model in order to improve students' creative thinking skills in physics subjects on renewable energy material. This type of research is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Semarang with the research subjects being a physics teacher and 10th grade students. The research instruments consist of three types, including 1). Feasibility test using a questionnaire sheet, 2). Practicality test using observation sheets and questionnaires, and 3). Effectiveness test using creative thinking skills questions on renewable energy material. Research data related to the effectiveness test in the form of pre-test and post-test were analyzed using the N-gain test. Based on the data analysis, the results obtained include 1). The results of the validation of the learning devices with an average percentage value of 79% (high), 2). The results of the physics teacher's response regarding the practicality of the learning devices obtained a percentage of 83% (very practical), and 3). The results of the effectiveness test using the N-gain test showed that there was an increase in students' creative thinking skills on the renewable energy material taught using the project-based learning (PjBL) model learning device. So it can be concluded that the use of project-based learning models can improve students' creative thinking skills in studying material about renewable energy.
