Abstract

This study aims to examine Al-Maqrizi's economic thought regarding fiscal and monetary policy in depth and evaluate its relevance in the context of contemporary Islamic economics. Using a qualitative approach and literature review of Al-Maqrizi's main work Ighātsah al-Ummah bi Kashf al-Ghummah, this study identifies Al-Maqrizi's critical thinking on the phenomena of inflation, fiscal injustice, and monetary instability that occurred during the Mamluk Dynasty. Al-Maqrizi distinguishes inflation into two types: natural inflation caused by external factors and artificial inflation caused by human error, such as corruption, excessive taxation, and uncontrolled money printing. In the fiscal aspect, he emphasizes the importance of justice in the tax system, the optimization of zakat for wealth distribution, and efficiency in managing state expenditures. In monetary policy, he advocated the use of the dinar-dirham currency standard and rejected the practice of mixing metals that degraded the quality of money. His ideas align with modern economic theories, such as Gresham's Law and the quantity theory of money, while reaffirming Sharia principles that prioritize justice and balance. Research findings indicate that Al-Maqrizi's contributions are relevant in designing a fair, ethical, and sustainable Islamic economic policy system and can serve as an important reference for Muslim countries in addressing contemporary economic challenges.

Various activities can be carried out by students, lecturers, and related parties to be involved in research in order to develop science and knowledge so that they can make real contributions, and empower communities around forest areas to be competitive so that they do not have a high enough value for forest resources, especially wood forest products. In addition, the existence of educational forests is considered capable of mitigating climate change at a micro level. The research was conducted in the Tadulako University Educational Forest as shown in the picture above. The stages of this research consist of two, namely a ground check by taking random samples of trees. Then the second is to identify local community wisdom using qualitative methods with the Rapid Rural Appraisal approach. This research was conducted in the Tadulako University Educational Forest with a direct observation approach. The results of this study found that the land in the forest is still maintained by implementing a forestry system in the form of, where the community utilizes the forest by taking non-timber forest products, rattan, and air ecosystem services.

Abstract

Social media represents one of the most widely utilised platforms across the globe. This medium provides numerous conveniences for individuals to interact with one another, whether in close proximity or at a distance, among acquaintances and strangers alike. However, these conveniences do not invariably yield positive outcomes; rather, they can also entail significant disadvantages. A pressing concern is that a considerable number of cases of marital discord in Indonesia can be attributed to infidelity facilitated by social media. This study aims to assess the impact of social media usage on the quality of life and marital harmony among families in Semarang. The methodology employed in this research is quantitative, with the subjects comprising married couples residing in Semarang. Data collection was performed via a survey, utilising questionnaires administered to 131 respondents in the area. Data analysis was conducted through validity tests, reliability tests, and regression analysis employing SEM PLS software. The data was subsequently examined through the framework of Gabriel Marcel's philosophy of humanity. Marcel's philosophy is pivotal in reinstating fundamental values that define human relationships, thereby ensuring that marital connections are not merely mechanical and technocratic. This study demonstrates a significant influence of social media usage on marital harmony among families in Semarang. Consequently, collaboration among various stakeholders is essential to raise awareness regarding the paradoxes associated with social media usage. Furthermore, it is imperative to enhance couples’ understanding of the purpose of marriage and how spouses can adapt to technological advancements to ensure that family resilience remains robust. This study is positioned at a technology readiness level (TRL) of 3, involving the development of a conceptual model aimed at improving marital harmony.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of incentives and organizational commitment on employee performance, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. The research was conducted at Baitul Maal Hidayatullah (BMH) Banten Province, a non-profit organization engaged in zakat, infaq, and sadaqah management. The study employed a quantitative method with a saturated sample of 100 employees. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 4.0. The results reveal that both incentives and organizational commitment have a significant and positive impact on job satisfaction and employee performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction significantly enhances employee performance and partially mediates the relationship between organizational commitment and performance. However, its mediating effect between incentives and performance is not significant. These findings underscore the critical role of intrinsic factors such as commitment and satisfaction in improving performance, especially in non-profit organizational contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the trends, values, and challenges of the halal lifestyle among Generation Z in Indonesia. Using a qualitative method with a literature review approach, this research synthesizes findings from national and international scholarly articles published in the last five years. The results indicate that Gen Z’s awareness of the halal lifestyle is increasing, particularly in the areas of food, cosmetics, and fashion, influenced by religiosity, ethical consumption, and social identity shaped through digital media. However, a gap remains between awareness and practice, especially regarding the validity of halal certification and the consistent application of Islamic principles. Other challenges include product accessibility, the influence of global secular trends, and uneven consumer literacy. These findings highlight the importance of consumer education, producer transparency, and strong regulation to strengthen the consistent implementation of the halal lifestyle among Indonesian Gen Z, while also contributing to the development of the halal industry at the national and global levels

Abstract
