Abstract

Kitosan adalah suatu polimer alami sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai edible coating pada makanan. Pembuatan edible coating kitosan memerlukan bahan tambahan berupa plasticizer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kondisi optimal konsentrasi kitosan dan plasticizer gliserol pada pembuatan edible coating yang diaplikasikan pada buah jambu biji merah. Transformasi kitin menjadi kitosan dengan proses deasetilasi cangkang kepiting bakau (Scylla sp) melalui proses demineralisasi dan deproteinasi. Kitin dan kitosan yang diperoleh diuji kadar air, kadar abu, dan nilai derajat deasetilasinya. Dalam pembuatan edible coating, kitosan dilarutkan dalam asam asetat 1% (v/v) dengan konsentrasi variasi 1; 1,5; 2, 2,5; dan 3% (b/v). Pada masing-masing variasi ditambahkan dengan gliserol 1%. Pelapisan buah dilakukan dengan teknik pencelupan selama 1 menit, dikeringkan dan disimpan dalam suhu ruangan. Sebagai kontrol digunakan buah jambu biji segar tanpa pelapisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar air kitin dan kitosan sebesar 1,96% dan 7,22%, kadar abu 1,84% dan 0,90%, serta derajat deasetilasi 68,61% dan 74,94%. Hasil uji kualitas mutu pada buah jambu biji merah dengan perlakuan K5G1 yaitu dengan kitosan 3% dan gliserol 1% menunjukkan kualitas mutu terbaik dengan nilai susut bobot 0,42%, nilai penurunan vitamin C 4,42%, nilai Total Plate Count (TPC) 17x104 koloni/mL, serta mempertahankan mutu buah selama 3 hari penyimpanan.

Abstract

The research is a development research that aims to produce a product in the form of an instrument to detect chemical misconceptions in the buffer solution material. The research method used is the 4-D method, namely: Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination. The two tiers choice diagnostic test instrument product is in the form of 20 multiple choice questions. Data collection techniques were carried out with content validation sheets by material experts, difficulty level tests and teacher and student response questionnaires. The results of the content validity test by evaluation experts showed that diagnostic test questions were declared feasible to be used as an instrument for detecting high school students' misconceptions on the subject of buffer solution material with a total score of 105 and material experts with a total score of 145. questions, questions that are currently 6 items, and problems that are difficult there are 7 items. The results of the percentage of the average score obtained from the questionnaire seen from the aspect of practicality, readability and time in working on the problem resulted in 79.85%, 78.58% and 74.11% aspects. The conclusions of this study were two tiers choice diagnostic test instruments suitable for use as an instrument to detect high school students' misconceptions on the subject of buffer solution material.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze students' critical thinking skills through the implementation of guided inquiry learning model on salt hydrolysis lesson. The research design used in this study was One-Shot Case Study. There were 79 students taken as the subjects of this study and they were in eleventh grade majoring MIPA of SMAN 2 Brebes in academic year 2017/2018. A test instrument that have been proven to be valid by expert were used to figure out both students’ critical thinking skills and obtained reliabelitas of 0.96 by using the formula r11 (alpha cronbach). The results showed the percentage of achievement students' critical thinking ability of 86.18% including good category. Percentage of achievement of each indicator of Critical Thinking Capability (KBK): simple explanation, 81,4%, basic support 85,95%, inference 87,31%, and stategies and tactics 87,34%. Students respond positively to the learning that has been applied.

Abstract

Learning without strengthening understanding of concepts can cause misconceptions and learning to be less meaningful. This study aims to analyze students' understanding of the concept of colloidal material. The research design uses quantitative descriptive methods. The research subjects were students of class XI MIPA Islamic High School Plus Bina Insani Susukan 2018/2019 academic year. Data collection using three tier multiple choice tests. The results of data analysis showed 43% of students understood the concept, 39% of students experienced misconceptions and 15% of students in the category of lack of understanding and 3% of students guessed the answers. The highest percentage of indicators shows interpreting the data and giving examples of colloidal material. This shows that most of the students were able to interpret the data and set examples well. Problem-based learning with a joyful learning approach is enough to help students in understanding students' concepts.

Abstract

The results of this research study with descriptive qualitative methods aim to analyze the findings related to the entrepreneurial spirit of high school students. The subjects in this study were 69 students of class XI involving 2 state high schools in Semarang in the academic year 2018/2019. Data collection is done by observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that 64.71% in SMA X had an entrepreneurial spirit with strong criteria and 35.29% with very strong criteria. In state high school Y 2.86% have an entrepreneurial spirit with weak criteria, 65.71% strong criteria and 31.43% very strong criteria. High school students tend to have an entrepreneurial spirit with strong criteria. But after being analyzed, the lowest score on the entrepreneurial spirit is the aspect of confidence. Various supports in learning can be done to improve the quality of learning and produce students who have good self-confidence. Steps that need to be taken include improving the method or model of learning and using teaching materials that support the growth of the entrepreneurial spirit, especially in the aspect of self-confidence.

Abstract

The measurement of scientific literacy is very important to find out the extent to which students have been literate in science. The preparation of test instruments based on scientific literacy is an effort to measure the literacy skills of students in the field of science. The purpose of this research is to develop a valid, practical, and effective science literacy test instrument to measure the scientific literacy skills of students on the theme of global warming. The research method was used Research and Development (R & D) with the research design of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The final product in this research is a scientific literacy-based test instrument to measure the scientific literacy skill of students that have been declared valid and feasible by experts and is valid in the content, in the form of 20 reasonable multiple-choice questions that are tailored to the indicators of the scientific literacy, complete with a grid of questions, answer keys, and bibliography. It can be concluded that the validity of the test instruments received an average percentage of 79.99% and was included in the category of valid and feasible to use. The practicality of the test instrument is in the very practical category seen based on the results of student responses by 87.50% and teacher responses by 94.23%. The effectiveness of the test instrument is in the effective category, since this study can reveal or position the scientific literacy skills of students into three criteria items, namely high, medium, and low, it can be used as input and thought contribution to improve the quality of making the test instruments to measure the skill of scientific literacy on the theme of global warming.

Abstract

The results of studying and entrepreneurial interest of students of SMK (Vocational School) Nusantara in Cirebon are still low. The learning strategies were used by teachers are generally conventional and not optimal for improving the learning outcomes and entrepreneurial interest of the student in schools. The type of research method used in this research is an experiment. The research data analysis technique used is the independent sample t-test. The result of this study is (1) the value of Sig. (2-tailed) obtained at 0.004 < 0.05 means there is an influence on the use of the CTL learning model with the CEP approach to improving student learning outcomes. (2) The test value of the Independent sample t-test sig. (2-tailed) amounting to 0.000 < 0.05 which means that there is an average difference in student learning outcomes between the experimental groups and the control, in other words, the application of the CTL model with the CEP approach with other learning methods will result in indifferent learning. (3) the test result of N-gain experimental class 58.03% (quite effective) while control group 34.38% (less effective) the results of this research are expected to be one of the solutions for educational practitioners, especially in vocational schools to equip students with entrepreneurial skills to reduce the impact of unemployment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui validitas, reliabilitas, dan keefektifan instrumen penilaian berpikir kritis pada pembelajaran kimia berpendekatan SETS di MAN 1 Kabupaten Magelang. Pendekatan SETS yang digunakan mencakup bahwa segala sesuatu yang kita hadapi mengandung aspek science, environment, technology, and society dan mengaitkannya melalui pembelajaran terintegrasi kompentensi spiritual siswa&nbsp; dan berfokus pada&nbsp; kemampuan berpikir kritis menurut Ennis. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes, angket, dan dokumentasi. Hasil Penelitian berupa uji validitas butir soal memenuhi kriteria valid sebanyak 17 soal dan memiliki kriteria valid berdasarkan empat pakar dengan reliabilitas instrumen penilaian memenuhi kriteria reliabel. Tingkat kesukaran soal memenuhi kriteria sedang dan sukar dengan daya beda soal yaitu baik. Siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah 11%. Keefektifan instrumen diperoleh dari nilai post-test siswa, menunjukan bahwa instrumen efektif menggukur kemampuan berpikir kritis secara objektif dan dapat membedakan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah instrumen penilaian berpikir kritis dengan pendekatan SETS efektif mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang dibutuhkan dalam menghadapi tantangan abad ke 21. Beberapa peneliti menyampaikan bahwa salah satu model pembelajajaran yang dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah Problem Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis dan respon peserta didik setelah diterapkannya model PBL berbantuan LKPD bermuatan etnosains pada materi reaksi redoks. Penelitian ini adalah  studi kasus dengan desain single holistic. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada peserta didik kelas X-MIPA 1 SMAN 10 Semarang yang berjumlah 36 orang yang dipilih secaara purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik tes, observasi dan angket yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik adalah sebesar 62,6 dan termasuk dalam kategori cukup. Indikator berinteraksi dengan rang lain dapat berkembang dengan baik, namun indikator menentukan induksi masih dalam kategori rendah. Peserta didik juga  memberikan respon positif terhadap penerapan model PBL berbantuan LKPD bermuatan etnosains.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi media virtual laboratory dalam model pembelajaran Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) terhadap hasil belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi titrasi asam-basa. Penelitian menggunakan desain quasi experimental dengan pretest-posttest control group design yang dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 12 Semarang. Objek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI IPA 5 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Pada kelas eksperimen dilakukan pembelajaran dengan model POE dan pemanfaatan virtual laboratory disertai demonstrasi sedangkan pada kelas kontrol dilakukan pembelajaran dengan model POE disertai demonstrasi. Kedua kelas kemudian melakukan praktikum riil di laboratorium Kimia. Pengamatan dan analisis dilakukan pada hasil belajar yang terdiri dari 3 aspek yaitu aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik, dan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis (KBK) dari kedua kelas tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol pada pembelajaran POE berbantuan virtual laboratory. Kontribusi virtual laboratory terhadap hasil belajar sebesar 16,99%, sedangkan kontribusi virtual laboratory terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis sebesar 12,66%.
