Abstract

Wilayah Indonesia bagian timur masih mempunyai permasalahan kesehatan, termasuk permasalahan gizi.

Abstract

Background: Satay smoke contains a pollutant called carbon monoxide (CO). Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless and odorless substance, but contains toxins that can adversely affect human health, especially will affect hemoglobin levels in the body. This systematic review of literature review aims to describe hemoglobin and carbon monoxide (CO) levels in satay traders. This research is a literature review, so the data base used in searching this article uses secondary sources derived from google scholar and sage publications with the keywords "hemoglobin, carbon monoxide, Carbon Monoxide (CO)" which have been done by previous researchers both domestically and abroad. From a total of 300 articles, finally obtained 5 articles relevant to the title made by the researcher. From these 5 selected articles, data were obtained that the substances contained in satay smoke have an influence on hemoglobin levels in the body. The longer the exposure to smoke, the high risk of hemoglobin levels in the body of the satay seller will decrease. This is certainly not good for the health of the body. Therefore, satay sellers are advised to use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in the form of masks to minimize the absorption of substances contained in satay smoke. Carbon monoxide (CO) can affect hemoglobin levels in the body of satay traders

Abstract

Indonesia is not immune to the global epidemic of leprosy, an infectious illness. The purpose of this research is to identify any correlation between leprosy treatment adherence and level of knowledge. Data included in this literature review comes from secondary sources rather than primary ones; in other words, it is not based on first-hand observation but rather on the findings of earlier studies. From these five articles, we may infer the following about the respondents: their ages range from zero to fourteen, their levels of education, whether or not they are employed, and the extent to which they know about leprosy: high, medium, and low. The study's findings demonstrate that the five publications provide solid proof that leprosy patients' adherence to treatment is correlated with their level of understanding. The greater the level of information that lepers possess, the more compliant they will be in regards to leprosy treatment.

Abstract

Household dietary diversity score (HDDS) is a crucial indicator of food security and nutritional outcomes. The data collection was done from 2017 to 2018 in Eastern Indonesia. This study aimed to capture the characteristics of HDDS based on district, province, religion, and head of household age. This study used secondary data from the Coastal Community Development Project (CCDP), IFAD Impact Assessment Survey 2018. The total sample of this study was 2,884 households. The HDDS was calculated based on the score of 12 food groups and presented in a bar graph using STATA version 17. The result revealed that the lowest HDDS was found in the Kupang district, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Confucianism or Konghucu Religion, and 15 to 25 years of head of household age. Household dietary diversity score is a critical measure of food security and nutritional status, reflecting a household's access to a variety of foods. Understanding and addressing these determinants are essential for improving household dietary diversity and ultimately enhancing nutrition outcomes.

Abstract

Background: Elementary school children are in a period of rapid growth and development, which requires adequate nutritional intake. Unfortunately, many school-age children skip lunch or consume meals that lack nutritional value. School lunch programs have been proven to improve nutritional status, learning concentration, and student attendance. In Indonesia, school lunch programs have not been implemented evenly, particularly in public schools. The Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) has the potential to serve as a model area for the implementation of such programs; however, a readiness assessment is required beforehand, considering the perspectives of schools. Methods: This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a survey method. Samples were taken from several public elementary schools located in urban and semi-urban areas of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to school principals and key decision-makers within the school environment. The data were analyzed descriptively to identify trends, logistical readiness, and stakeholder support. This study obtained ethical approval from the Research Ethics Committee of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan with the approval code 012408284, issued on September 6, 2024.Result: Based on the survey results, it was found that school readiness in terms of infrastructure still faces several challenges. Though the school stated overall readiness, this school lunch program gives benefits such as food behavior change, increasing nutritional status, increasing student performance, and school reputation. Conclusion: Most elementary and Islamic elementary schools (MI) in Yogyakarta reported that they are not yet fully prepared to implement the school lunch program. However, they expressed willingness to participate if supported by the local government and provided with clear technical implementation guidelines. An initial intervention in the form of a pilot project is necessary to evaluate the program’s effectiveness and to make necessary operational adjustments

Abstract

Household food security is an essential issue for a country and has become a national issue in poor and developing countries worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic. Various problems could arise if household food-nutrition needs are not met. This study aims to explore factors related to household food security during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. A systematic literature review that was used twelve articles. Three electronic databases (Google Scholar, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect) were used to find the articles between January 2020 to April 2023. The original articles were selected based on the PRISMA-P flowchart model. The results show the socio-demographic (sex of household’s head, age, education, literacy) and socio-economic (occupation, income, wealth, area of living) factors influencing household food security. Households having a male head of household, good literacy, and an adequate economy have a significant effect on having nutritious food security during COVID-19 pandemic. These findings recommend that the central government of Indonesia provide financial assistance to food-insecure households, improve access to food, and promote healthy food products

Abstract

Encouraging proper hands, including regular handwashing with soap and water or the use of hand sanitizers, is crucial in preventing the transmission of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. This preventive measure helps to eliminate or reduce the presence of the virus on hands, particularly after contact with potentially contaminated surfaces or objects. The study was comprehensively searching databases and other sources to identify literature on hand hygiene and COVID-19 between 16 April, 2020 and 30 May 2023. We analyzed various aspects of the retrieved articles and studies, including the sources, publication dates, types and topics covered. In the initial stage of the review process, the researchers identified 463 records from various sources. After removing 56 duplicate records, they were left with 407 unique articles for further screening. During the screening process, 280 articles were excluded for various reasons. This resulted in 127 articles that passed the initial screening. The next step involved assessing the eligibility of the full text of these 127 articles. Out of these, 108 articles were excluded based on the eligibility criteria, and the research obtained the full texts of the remaining 19 articles for further analysis. By creating a collective awareness and understanding of the importance of hand hygiene, we can create a positive impact on public health and reduce the transmission of diseases such as COVID-19
