Abstract

Maximum output from the operation of solar cell depends on the temperature of the solar cell, solar radiation, wind speed, the state of the earth's atmosphere, the orientation of the solar cell and the position of the location of the solar cell against the sun (tilt angle). Solar Tracker is a device that automatically change the orientation of a solar panel towards the position of the sun and increasing the insolation. Initially the solar tracker is set up using LDR then image processing-based settings can reduce tracking errors. Image-based solar tracker still uses a full-sized computer that requires a lot of energy and space. This research aims to improve the accuracy of the direction of the solar panel and optimize the output of the solar panel by increasing the angle of solar radiation (insolation) using the Solar Tracker with a camera sensor and a Raspberry Pi minicomputer. The use of cameras is intended to reduce errors from LDR-based systems and the use of Raspberry Pi replaces full-sized computer. The method to track position of the sun is by tracking the pixel with highest value. From the output analysis the solar panel proved to be optimized by the application of Raspberry Pi-integrated camera solar tracker. The comparison of the output power between the stationary solar panel and the solar panel installed on the Raspberry Pi-integrated camera solar tracker is 1: 1,389 (21,5487W: 29,8822W) in the no-load test and 1: 1,2042 (6,0344W: 7, 2671W) in tests with a 12V-5W bulb load.

Abstract

In this study, we implement a Nonstandard Finite Difference (NSFD) scheme for a predator-prey model involving cannibalism and refuge in predator. The scheme which is considered as a discrete dynamical system is analyzed. The performed analysis includes the determination of equilibrium point and its local stability. The system has four equilibrium points, namely the origin, the prey extinction point, the predator extinction point, and the coexistence point, which have exactly the same form and existence conditions as those in continuous system. The local stability of each first three equilibrium points is consistent with the one in continuous system. The stability of the coexistence point depends on the integration time step size. Nevertheless, the NSFD scheme allows us to choose the integration time step size for the solution to converge to a feasible point more flexible than the Euler and 4th order Runge-Kutta schemes. These are shown via numerical simulations.

Abstract

The singularity of the kernel of the Caputo fractional derivative has become an issue, leading many researchers to consider the Atangana-Baleanu-Caputo (ABC) fractional derivative in epidemic models where the kernel is non-singular. In this context, the objective of this study is to compare the calibration and forecasting performance of fractional-order monkeypox models with singular and nonsingular kernels, represented by the model with respect to the Caputo operator and the ABC operator, respectively. We have proposed a monkeypox epidemic model with respect to the ABC operator (MPXABC), where the model with respect to the Caputo derivative (MPXC) has been proposed in previous research. We have analyzed the existence and uniqueness of the solution. Three equilibrium points of the model are endemic, human endemic, and monkeypox-free, and their global stability has been investigated. The global dynamics of the MPXABC are the same as those of the MPXC. In evaluating the performance, we collected secondary data on weekly monkeypox cases from June 1 to November 23, 2022, in the USA. Parameter estimation has been performed using the least squares method, while the solutions of the model have been determined numerically using a predictor-corrector scheme. The benchmark for performance has been determined based on the root mean square error. Data calibration and forecasting indicate that the MPXC generally has the best performance for each value of the derivative order. For certain values of derivative order, the MPXABC performs better than the corresponding firstorder model. However, generally, the corresponding first-order model performs better than the MPXABC. Depending on the data trends and the specified orders, the MPXC outperforms the MPXABC. Thus, the singularity issue of the Caputo derivative does not always have a negative impact on model fitting to data.

Abstract

In this article, dynamics of predator prey model with infection spread in prey and cannibalism in predator is analyzed. The model has three populations, namely susceptible prey, infected prey, and predator. It is assumed that there is no migration in both prey and predator populations. The dynamical analysis shows that the model has six equilibria, namely the trivial equilibrium point, the prey extinction point, the disease free and predator extinction equilibrium point, the disease-free equilibrium point, the predator extinction equilibrium point, and the coexistence equilibrium point. The first equilibrium is unstable, and the other equilibria conditionally local asymptotically stable. The positivity and boundedness of the solution are also shown. The analytical result is supported by numerical simulation. It is shown that in such a high cannibalization the coexistence equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable.

Abstract

Background : The negative conversion duration of SARS-CoV-2 RNA was related to disease progression, and a prolonged negative conversion could provide early warning signal for poor prognosis in patients with COVID-19. The objectives of this study was to identify the factors influencing the delay in negative conversion of PCR swab test results in patients with COVID-19 as a consideration in determining the COVID-19 prevention policy in the community Methods : A retrospective cross-sectional study involving 68 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 that was treated in Dr. Kariadi General Hospital Medical Center Semarang from June 1st to December 30th 2020. Negative conversion was evaluated based on the results of the RT-PCR swab test on day 7, 14 and 21. Results : Mean negative conversion time for all patients was 11.63±5.08 days. Thirty-one factors were evaluated in the initial univariate Cox and Kaplan-Meier analysis. Older age (>59 years), overweight (>25 kg/m2), fever (>38°C), shortness of breath, diabetes mellitus, neutrophilia, hypoalbuminemia, CRP and antiviral treatment showed significant association with negative conversion time. These factors were then included in a multivariate regression analysis. Hypoalbuminemia or albumin level of <3.0 g/dL was found as an independent factor associated with negative conversion time of viral RNA (HR:1.986; 95%CI:1.098–3.594), and hypoalbuminemia was presumed to cause prolonged viral clearance time in patients with COVID-19. Conclusion : The factors influencing the prolong in negative conversion of viral RNA in patients with COVID-19 were older age, overweight, fever, shortness of breath, diabetes mellitus, neutrophilia, hypoalbuminemia, CRP and antiviral treatment. Hypoalbuminemia was an independent predictor for prolonged negative conversion of viral RNA in patients with COVID-19.

Abstract

It has been studied that fear plays a significant role in establishing ecological communities, influencing biodiversity, and preserving ecological balance in predator-prey interactions. In this study, it is proposed a discrete-time predator-prey model that takes the fear effect into account that is derived by using Euler method. Objective of this study is analyzing the model by linearization. Similar to the continuous model properties, the trivial fixed point and the predator-free fixed point are both unstable. The discrete model differs from the continuous model in that the stability of the interior fixed point and the free prey fixed point is affected by the time step size. Using numerical methods, we examine period-doubling bifurcations related to interior fixed point and prey-free point that are impacted by time step size.
