ABSTRACT A descriptive study has been conducted to determine students’ scientific attitude in biology learning with project based learning model on the topic of organic waste recycling for grade X SMAN 1 Lirik school year 2013/2014. The population of this study was grade X students of SMAN 1 Lirik school year 2013/2014 and the sample was 29 students of Xb class SMAN 1 Lirik, that consists of 8 male students and 21 female students. Parameters of this study were students’ scientific attitude and the indicators were curiosity, responsibility, collaboration, toleration and thoroughness. Observation sheet and peers questionnaire were used as data collecting instruments. The result showed that the percentage of students’ scientific attitude obtained through observation sheet was 76,2% with good category and obtained throught peers questionnaire was 71,6% with good enough category. Based on the study that has been conducted in SMAN 1 Lirik school year 2013/2014, students’ scientific attitude has became better at biology learning with project based learning model on the topic of organic waste recycling Key Words: Project Based Learning, Students’ Scientific Attitude

Regulation of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 16 of 2007 concerning Academic Qualification Standards and Teacher Competencies states that one of the competencies of high school biology teachers is the competence to properly design and implement practicum. Biology Education students as prospective biology teachers must master these competencies. The existence of independent learning resources can be used as a reference for prospective student teachers in studying material related to practicum activities. This study aims to produce independent learning resources in the form of videos. This research was conducted at the PMIPA Laboratory FKIP Riau University, SMAN 8 Pekanbaru and SMAN 15 Pekanbaru in April-December 2020. The type of research used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The instruments used in this study were the validation sheet and response questionnaire. The results of the video validation obtained an average value of 3.57 with a very valid category. The results of the limited trial phase I obtained an average value of 3.64 in the very good category, while the results of the phase II trial obtained an average value of 3.43 in the very good category. Based on the results of the validation and trials, it shows that the video of the design and implementation of the biology practicum developed can be used as an independent learning resource for prospective biology teachers.

The objective of this research was to examine the allele frequency and dissemination A BO blood group of SMUN I Melayu student, Bengkalis regency. This research have done on November 2001 – February 2002. Survey method was used in this study. The parameter observation was allele frequency IA, lB, and IO. Data analyzed by using Hardy Weinberg Law and chi square. The results shows that the allele frequency IA (0,152), lB (0,326), 1° (0,522). There was no equilibrium in allele dissemination. Kay words : ABO blood group, dissemination, equilibrium. SMUN I Bengkalis regency.

The aim of this study was to describe biology teachers’ Technological PedagogicalContent Knowledge (TPCK) at Public Senior High School in Pekanbaru. This studyheld on November 2013 until March 2014. The sample of this study was 33 biologyteachers at Public Senior High School in Pekanbaru that selected by random samplingtechnique. This study conducted with closed-ended and open-ended questionnaire.The closed-ended questionnaire consists of 35 items and is 7 subdomains. Thesubdomains are Technological Knowledge (TK), Pedagogical Knowledge (PK),Content Knowledge (CK), Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK),Technological Content Knowledge (TCK), Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK)and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPCK). The closed-endedquestionnaire items is valid and reliable. Descriptive study was implemented in thisstudy. The result showed that biology teachers’ TK at Public Senior High School inPekanbaru was good enough (M=3,38), PK was good (M=4,05), CK was good(M=3,92), TPK was good (M=3,70), TCK was good (M=3,70), PCK was very good(M=4,26) and TPCK was good (M=3,94). An overall, biology teachers’ TPCK wasgood (M=3,72). That result indicated that biology teacher at Public Senior HighSchool in Pekanbaru could implement their technology knowledge in biologylearning.Keywords: Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, Senior High School,Biology Teacher

The purpose of this research is to develop the classroom-based assessment on biology subjects for XI grade Senior high school. Assessment consists of seven graderoom-based assessment techniques. There are paper and pencil test, attitude, performance, product, project, self-assessment and portofolio. The development Class-based software is based on ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The development was conducted at Biology Education University of Riau and the limiting test was conducted at SMAN 8 Pekanbaru. The research held on January until April 2014. Used research and Development (R & D) design with ADDIE model. Subjects consisted of four Basic Competencies (KD) in the XI grade Senior high school. Data were collected by filling the validity of the assessment sheet by each validator which consists of internal and external validators. Collected datas were analyzed by descriptive statistics. Average results of the validity of class-based assessment are: 3.6 for the paper and pencil test, 3.7 for attitude assessment, 3.7 for performance assessment, 3.6 for product assessment, 3.6 for project assessment, 3.8 for self-assessment and 3.7 for portofolio assessment. On the last stage of the research, a limiting test on the XI grade senior high school. The results from validation, we can conclude that the class-based assessment in high school biology subjects class XI obtain the category of very valid and can be implemented in the learning process.Keywords : Biology Subject, Classroom-Based Assessment, Development

Research had been taken to see Student’s Soft Skill Profile of University on Developing Biology Education Program Lecture, on 2010/2011 Academic Year, through March until June 2011. Total Sample for this research is all of the students on the University who were taking Developing Biology Education Program Lecture that consist of 43 students (40 students are female and 3 students are male). Parameter of this research is Soft Skill describe in 7 indicators which are creativity, self-confidence, independent, motivation, critical thinking, time management and team-work. Instruments that were used are Soft Skill score base on the process using the all of seventh soft skill indicators and scoring work performance using 2 indicators from all of seventh Soft Skill. The result of the research shows Soft Skill score base on process is average 67.26% (enough). On RPP and LKS process the average score 65.41% (enough), on Mikro Education average score 62.94% (enough), on media presentation process average score 75.29% (good), and from all of the seventh Soft Skill indicators, the highest score is team-work indicator with average 88% (very good), whereas the lowest score is critical thinking indicator with average score 68% (enough). Soft Skill Profile score on team-work indicator is average 73.72% (enough), on the RPP work performance is 60.91% (enough score), on the LKS is 62.80% (enough), on educative media 85.79% (very good), on teaching material is 85.40% (very good), among two Soft Skill indicators the highest score is critical thinking indicator whose score is 74.19% (enough), meanwhile, the lowest score is creativity with score 73.26% (enough). By totally, Soft Skill Profile of university student score base on process and work performance on Developing Biology Education lecture is 70.49% within enough category.Keywords : Education Program, Soft Skill,

This researh aims to determine the perceptions of lecturers towards integration MKB Character Education in Biology Faculty of Teacher Education Program University of Riau. The research was conducted in May-August 2012. The parameters of this research are the perception and understanding lecturers. The data technique collecting is closed questionaires and open questionnaires to determine lecturer perceptions of the character education and tests to determine lecturer understanding. Enclosed questionaire consisted of two indicators: (1) character education with 4 sub-indicators and (2) implementation of character education with 2 sub-indicators. Comprehension test has two indicators: (1) character education with 5 sub-indicators and (2) development of character education with 3 sub-indicators. Application of Guided Inquiry Learning Model to Improve Student Competency in Biology Learning at SMAN 2 XIII Koto Kampar. The classroom action research was motivated by the low competence of students in aspects of attitudes, knowledge and skills. The purpose of this study was to determine improving student competence of grouping plant in class X IPA 2 SMAN 2 XIII Koto Kampar through the application of guided inquiry learning model. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This study begins with a pre cycle before the cycle I. Subjects were 26 students of SMAN 2 X IPA 2 class XIII Koto Kampar. Data obtained using the competency attitude instrument observation sheet of religious and social attitudes, including: faithful, honest, discipline, cooperation, tolerance and mutual cooperation. A knowledge data was collected with quiz and test questions at the end of the cycle. The skills data was collected with observation sheets of practices and product. The results showed an increase in the competence of the students after the applied application of guided inquiry learning model. An increase in the average value of attitude competence of the first cycle of 3.15 and the second cycle of 3.49. The competence of knowledge showed an increase from the first cycle of students who pass as many as 22 people (84.62%) in the second cycle students who pass as many as 24 people (92.31%), while competence of skills to practice skills in the first cycle of 3.16, and the second cycle of 3.30. And then, product skills in the first cycle of 3.04 increased in the second cycle of 3.30.Keywords: Grouping Plants, Guided Inquiry, Student Competence

The objective of this service is to increase the economy of community at Seko Lubuk Tigo village of Lirik sub-district, and to meet the needs of the mushroom market by making mushroom houses. The method of this program was conducted in the form of counseling, accompaniment, and the demonstration of making mushroom house by involving the students of Riau University who are in carrying out a Student Study Service (KKN). The respons of community were very positive, and have high spirit in applying the technology of making Mushroom House. The community were very enthusiastic to make mushroom house as a new job opportunity. The output of this program is to make the oyster mushroom production house and the pocket book for mushroom production. It is expected that by conducting this program, the community can disseminate the technology which is accepted to be applied to other communities.

This research aims to produce a valid and practical Socio-Scientific Issue (SSI) based student worksheet (LKPD) on grade VII science learning in junior high school. There are three issues discussed, namely the issue of Unlicensed Gold Mining (PETI) in Kuansing, the issue of waste and the issue of Forest and Land Fires (KARHUTLA). The development research method uses the Plomp model which consists of the preliminary research phase, the prototyping phase and the assessment phase. In the initial investigation phase, a needs analysis is carried out to see the importance of the issues used as the basis for the development of LKPD. The LKPD prototype manufacturing stage was designed based on SSI with validation by experts consisting of lecturers and teachers. Large group test assessment stage on 31 students to see the practicality of the prototype. LKPD validation results are very valid with an average score of 3.4, very practical with a score of 82.9% by the teacher and very practical 81.4% by students. It can be concluded that LKPD based on SSI is valid and practical to be applied in junior high school science learning.
