Abstract

Adolescents are a vulnerable age group prone to negative body image issues due to social media exposure, peer pressure, and unrealistic beauty standards. The health education and promotion program entitled “BEYOUTIFUL: Drop the Doubts, Be the Real You!” was implemented at SMKS Pasundan Jatinangor to improve students' understanding of self-love, positive body image, and self-acceptance. The program applied experiential learning, Social Learning Theory (SLT), Health Belief Model (HBM), and humanistic learning theories. Evaluation was conducted through pre- and post-tests, reflective discussions, and observation of student engagement. Results showed a significant increase in students’ knowledge of mental health and self-love, along with a more positive attitude towards themselves. The program also created a safe space for students to express themselves and build peer support. It is recommended that mental health education be integrated into the school curriculum and peer support groups be established as a sustainable effort to promote mentally and emotionally healthy adolescents

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that causes individuals to become physiologically and socially dysfunctional. Physical exercise is one of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be applied to patients with schizophrenia, offering advantages such as ease of implementation, wide applicability, and lower costs, making it a feasible option for widespread use. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of physical exercise interventions in reducing signs and symptoms in patients with schizophrenia. This study used a rapid review design, with articles collected from three databases: PubMed, EBSCO, and Scopus. Article selection was conducted based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in seven eligible studies. Data analysis was performed by organizing the findings into a data extraction table to facilitate interpretation. The results indicate that physical exercise interventions are effective in reducing signs and symptoms of schizophrenia. The types of physical activities identified across the studies include cycling, yoga, treadmill walking, and aerobic exercises. In conclusion, in addition to antipsychotic medications used to manage symptoms, non-pharmacological interventions such as regular and structured physical exercise can help reduce symptoms and improve the quality of life in patients with schizophrenia. Keywords: Adjunct therapy, physical exercise, schizophrenia, scoping review, symptom reduction.

Abstract

Suicide is a major global health problem, with significant psychological and social impacts. Gratitude therapy is a positive psychological intervention that improves mental well-being and may reduce suicide risk, and is comparable in effectiveness to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in improving life satisfaction . The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of gratitude therapy in reducing suicide risk among individuals with mental health disorders. This study was conducted using a rapid review method of articles explaining the effectiveness of gratitude therapy in reducing the risk of suicide. This study involved a systematic literature search in databases such as PubMed , EBSCO, and ScienceDirect . The inclusion criteria for this study were articles published between 2015 and 2024, in English and Indonesian, with full-text availability, and focusing on gratitude therapy for mental health patients at risk of suicide. The screening followed the PRISMA guidelines, resulting in 9 articles for final analysis. A total of 9 relevant articles were reviewed. Four studies examined the application of gratitude therapy to psychosocial problems, while five studies focused on individuals with mental disorders. For psychosocial problems, gratitude interventions such as gratitude diaries and reflection journals were effective in reducing stress and increasing life satisfaction by 6.89%, increasing social connectedness, and fostering positive coping mechanisms. For mental health disorders, gratitude therapy showed a 5.8% benefit in reducing feelings of hopelessness, increasing optimism, and alleviating depressive symptoms. This study suggests that gratitude therapy serves as a promising intervention to reduce suicide risk and improve mental health across a range of settings and populations. However, these findings have several limitations and further research is needed to expand its applicability and efficacy.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a psychological disorder characterized by fragmented thinking, perception, and cognitive function. One common symptom that often appears in schizophrenia patients is delusion. Delusion is a condition where the sufferer cannot distinguish real events from events that occur in their mind. Treatment of delusions can be done through non-pharmacological therapies such as card playing therapy and journaling. This study aims to evaluate the application of card playing and journaling interventions as non-pharmacological interventions in training reality orientation in delusions and improving the social functioning of schizophrenia patients. The research method used is a clinical case report conducted from May 29, 2025 - June 5, 2025, with the subject of a 21-year-old man with a medical diagnosis of schizophrenia. The intervention was carried out over four consecutive meetings with a duration of 15-30 minutes, using card games to match colors and numbers, followed by journaling activities as self-reflection. The evaluation results showed a decrease in the intensity of grandiose delusions characterized by increased concentration during activities and an increase in the patient's ability to control behavior and speak more in accordance with reality. Card-playing interventions help patients practice concentration and following rules, while journaling helps identify unrealistic thoughts and transform them into more rational statements. While complete recovery is not yet achieved, these interventions can have a positive therapeutic impact on patients when combined with pharmacological interventions and other supportive factors.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Caregivers are individuals who play a crucial role in caring for children with cancer, facing emotional burdens such as anxiety over the potential loss of their child. This study aims to describe the level of anticipatory grief among caregivers of children with cancer. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method. The sample consists of 47caregivers selected using the accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using the Marwit-Meuser CaregiverGrief Inventory Short Form (MM-CGI SF), which contains 18 validated items with a Cronbach's alpha reliability score of 0.90. The results showed that the majority of caregivers had a normal level of anticipatory grief (76.6%), while 14.9% had a high level and 8.5% had a low level. In the dimension of personal sacrifice burden, 21.3% of caregivers were at a high level. The heartfelt sadness and longing dimension showed 14.9% at a high level, while the worry and felt isolation dimension indicated 19.1% at a high level. This study concludes that most caregivers experience anticipatory grief at a normal level, although a small portion exhibit high levels, particularly in the dimensions of personal sacrifice burden and feelings of isolation. Therefore, greater attention and psychosocial interventions are needed to help caregivers manage anticipatory grief effectively. Keywords: Anticipatory Grief, Caregiver, Children With Cancer. Dimensi heartfelt sadness and longing menunjukkan 14,9% pada tingkat tinggi, sedangkan dimensi worry and felt isolation menunjukkan 19,1% pada tingkat tinggi.
