Abstract

Introduction: In daily routines, especially in heavy weight lifting activities, grip strength is important. This study aims to investigate grip strength with muscle mass and fat mass in the arms. Methods: Cross-sectional study with the subjects of this study were 45 students (15 females and 30 males) with male characteristics (age 19.8±0.83, height 168±6.10, weight 64.7±11.5, BMI 22.9±3.82) while in women (age 20±0.78, height 159.3±4.43, weight 57.3±11.6, BMI 22.6±4.33). Spearman correlation from SPSS version 26 with a significance level of P-value < 0.05. Finding: Based on the data, there was no significant correlation between grip strength and muscle ma and arm fat mass. Then the muscle mass of the right side with (P-value: 0.079, r: 0.265) and the left side (P-value: 0.059, r: 0.284), while the mass of fat on the right side (P-value: 0.090, r-value -0.256) and the mass of fat on the left (P-value: 0.180, r-value: -0.204). Conclusion: This study proves that there is no correlation between grip strength and muscle mass or arm fat mass.

Abstract

Performance analysis in the sport of badminton is very important to conduct, but it has not been explicitly discussed in academic studies. The main objective of this research is to analyze the physical performance of badminton athletes aged 15-17 years at PB Tangkas WLK Bangkingan Club in Surabaya. Method: This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a total sampling technique, involving 12 adolescent beginner athletes who actively train. The instruments used included speed tests (30-meter run), agility tests (Illinois Agility Test), arm muscle strength (60-second push-ups), abdominal muscle strength (60-second sit-ups), and cardiorespiratory endurance (beep test). The results of the study showed that most athletes fell into the fairly good category in terms of speed and agility, while strength and endurance were components that needed serious improvement. The conclusion regarding the physical performance of beginner athletes aged 15-17 at PB Tangkas Wlk Bangkingan still needs to be improved overall, especially in terms of strength and endurance, in order to support more optimal playing performance. This can be used as a basis for designing a more targeted physical training program.

Abstract

Study purpose. This study aimed to explore the innovative use of skipping warm-ups to improve students' running speed in a bilingual school in China. Materials and Methods. Using a quasi-experimental approach and a pretest-posttest design, this study involved 21 ninth-grade students, consisting of 13 girls and 8 boys. The warm-up consisted of various skipping exercises for 5 minutes, followed by a 100-meter run test. Results. The results showed a decrease in average running time after the warm-up, but this difference was not statistically significant (p = 0.085). This finding suggests that while skipping exercises can improve overall physical fitness, fatigue experienced by students during the warm-up may mitigate its impact on running speed. Factors such as the short warm-up duration, high intensity, and differences in students' fitness levels were the main reasons why the results did not reach the expected significance. Furthermore, Shanghai's summer weather, high temperatures and humidity, can exacerbate fatigue levels during the warm-up, which in turn can reduce the effectiveness of physical exercise. Conclusion. This study suggests the need to adjust the duration and intensity of training to optimize the results of warm-up exercises with skipping, as well as the importance of considering students' motivational factors in significantly increasing speed.

Abstract

Education aims to optimally develop students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor potential. In physical education, motor skills are a crucial aspect that affects students' concentration, coordination, and stamina in learning. This quantitative study with a correlational design aims to determine the contribution of motor skills to student learning outcomes. The data were analysed using simple linear regression tests. The results showed a significant relationship between motor skills and academic achievement, as evidenced by a significance value of < 0.05. Thus, the alternative hypothesis (H_1) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H_0) was rejected. The findings showed that motor skills contributed 59.5% to student learning outcomes, while the remaining 40.5% was influenced by other variables. This study confirms that strengthening psychomotor skills is a key factor in accelerating students' academic performance at school.

Abstract

The Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to improve the capacity of salted fish SME actors in strengthening product branding through training, mentoring, and the use of digital media. This activity was designed to address the low level of understanding among business actors regarding brand identity, modern marketing strategies, and the use of digital technology as a means of promotion. Through an interactive training approach tailored to field conditions, participants gained practical understanding of visual identity development, marketing communication, social media use, and marketplace utilization strategies. The results of the PKM showed significant improvements, including an increase in branding understanding from 30% to 85%, visual identity changes by 70% of participants, and a 40% increase in sales within three months. In addition, the use of social media increased from 20% to 75%, followed by an increase in the use of e-commerce as a sales medium. Participants also showed positive responses and high interest in participating in further training. This PKM proves that strengthening branding can increase the competitiveness of SMEs and have an impact on local economic growth. These findings emphasize the importance of continuous training and mentoring support so that SMEs can adapt to market and technological developments.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan merumuskan strategi program latihan tim sepak takraw Jawa Timur dalam upaya meraih medali emas pada Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa Nasional (POMNAS) XVII tahun 2022 di Sumatra Barat. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif analitis dengan teknik studi literatur, observasi, dan evaluasi program latihan berbasis model CIPPO (Context, Input, Process, Product, Outcome). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan program latihan berbasis periodisasi terintegrasi mampu meningkatkan kemampuan fisik, teknik, taktik, dan mental atlet secara signifikan. Process: Latihan berjalan sesuai jadwal dengan monitoring, latihan dibuat 5:1 dalam dua 12x berlatih pagi dan sore dimulai hari senin pagi rabu sore rest aktif dalam 1 minggu. Latihan dalam satu bulan sebanyak 48x berlatih. Product: Peningkatan signifikan pada indikator fisik dan teknik. Nilai VO₂ max rata-rata sebesar 47,6 ml/kg/menit masih berada di bawah standar optimal atlet nasional, peningkatan rata-rata daya ledak kaki sebesar 11%, kecepatan reaksi 9%, dan akurasi servis 14%. Outcome: Persentase kemenangan simulasi ke pertandingan meningkat dari 65% menjadi 80%. Pertandingan nomor double event sebanyak 7 kali pertandingan dengan rincian 3 kali babak penyisihan, 1 kali babak 16 besar 1 kali babak 8 besar 1 kali babak semifian dan 1 kali main babak final. Disimpulkan bahwa strategi latihan yang terencana, terukur, dan adaptif menjadi faktor kunci bagi tim sepak takraw Jawa Timur untuk meraih medali emas di POMNAS XVII 2022.

Abstract

Bulan Ramadhan merupakan bulan yang sangat istimewa bagi umat muslim di seluruh dunia. Saat menjalankan ibadah puasa terjadi perubahan rutinitas sehari-hari meliputi bangun lebih pagi untuk sahur, menjalankan puasa sejak terbit fajar hingga terbenam matahari, dan beribadah pada malam hari. Dengan adanya rutinitas ini tentunya kita diharapkan tetap memiliki tubuh yang bugar, agar dapat menjalani ibadah dengan lancar. Namun, puasa Ramadhan juga memiliki tantangan tersendiri, terutama bagi mereka yang aktif melakukan aktivitas fisik dan olahraga. Ada banyak cara untuk menjaga tubuh tetap bugar kala berpuasa. Salah satunya dengan berolahraga. Petanque merupakan salah satu olahraga yang cocok untuk dilakukan selama puasa Ramadhan. Petanque adalah olahraga yang berasal dari Prancis dan dimainkan dengan melempar bola kecil ke lapangan dan berusaha mendekatkan bola besar ke bola kecil tersebut. Petanque adalah olahraga ringan yang tidak membutuhkan terlalu banyak energi dan stamina. Meskipun masih melibatkan gerakan fisik, tetapi gerakan tersebut tidak akan terlalu melelahkan tubuh. Wilayah Menganti dan Club New Kampret Petanque dipilih sebagai mitra kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat untuk dilakukan pelatihan pétanque. Untuk lokasi kegiatan akan dilakukan di lapangan New Kampret Gresik. Kegiatan pelatihan olahraga pétanque ini dirasa dianggap penting dan dibutuhkan untuk dilakukan karena banyak kedepannya akan memberikan banyak dampak positif bagi semua pihak khususnya masyarakat di wilayah Menganti Gresik. Metode pelaksanaannya ini meliputi 5 tahapan, yakni (1) analisis kebutuhan pelatihan, (2) desain, (3) pengembangan, (4) implementasi, dan (5) evaluasi. Pada tahap analisis dilakukan Tim PKM melakukan dan mengadakan studi awal di wilayah Menganti Gresik dengan melakukan wawancara dengan para masyrakat. Tahap desain dan pengembangan dilakukan hal berikut, yakni mengidentifikaksi peserta pelatihan, merancang dan mengembangkan tujuan pelatihan, merancang dan mengembangkan metode pelatihan, merancang dan menetapkan nara sumber pelatihan, merancang dan mengembangkan instrumen pelatihan, dan merancang dan mengembangkan jadwal pelatihan. Tahap implementasi pelatihan dilakukan secara tatap muka. Tahap evaluasi dilakukan dengan mengevaluasi hasil pelatihan kepada peserta yakni membuat pertandingan dengan membagi tim. Dalam rangka sosialisasi tetap bugar saat berpuasa dengan olahraga pentanque, tahap pelatihan petanque telah dilaksanakan dengan fokus mendalam pada teknik permainan. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dan mengasah keterampilan dasar dalam bermain petanque kepada para peserta. Luaran yang ditargetkan adalah artikel yang dipublikasikan pada Jurnal ABISATYA dan publikasi pada media online.
