The Relationship Between Duration of Mechanical Ventilator Use and Mortality in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at PMI Hospital Bogor in 2023 Yulianti, Sri

Abstract

Mechanical ventilator is a breathing support device that helps patients with respiratory failure. Use of mechanical ventilator for more than 48 hours causing complications that could increase mortality in patients. Knowing the association between duration of mechanical ventilator use and mortality in ICU can help reduce the factors that cause patient's mortality in ICU. This study used an analytic observational method with a cross sectional approach. Subjects were 97 medical record data with simple random technique then processed using SPSS. This study used secondary data with medical records of patients in ICU with use of mechanical ventilator according to sample's inclusion and exclusion. The analysis used is chi-square. The results showed that the majority of subjects were >65 years old (37.1%), male (60.8%). Non surgical patients (56.7%), the most common primary diagnoses were ICH (17.5%), CKD (10.3%), CHF (6.2%), and peritonitis (6.2%), duration of mechanical ventilator use ≥48 hours (61.9%) and patient died (83.5%). Bivariate analysis results showed there was no association between duration of mechanical ventilator use and mortality (p = 0.734). There is no association between duration of mechanical ventilator use with mortality in the ICU RS PMI Bogor in 2023. Further research is needed to determine other factors that can affect mortality in ICU other than the duration of mechanical ventilator use.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat merupakan program lanjutan dari program sosialisasi dan pelatihan pembuatan sanun natural “Aranomiya Soap” bersama pelaku UKM, Ibu Rumahtangga, dan Karang Taruna Kelurahan Mekarjaya. Masyarakat telah merasakan keuntungan dan telah membuktikan manfaat sabun natural kesehatan bahkan untuk pengganti sabun mandi. namun produk sabun natural ini memiliki kelemahan bagi pemasarannya. Tim PKM berinisiatif melakukan program produk UKM berbasis pemasaran digital dan pelatihan pembuatan produk sabun natural yang berdaya saing dan bernilai ekonomis tinggi sehingga dapat meningkatkan perekonomian dan kesejahteraan masyarakat disekitar Kelurahan Mekarjaya, Kota Depok. Metode yang akan digunakan dalam kegiatan PKM ini adalah ceramah, simulasi atau peragaan serta praktek langsung pembuatan produk sabun “Aranomiya Natural Soap.” Selama ini mitra telah memproduksi beberapa produk kecantikan seperti sabun batang (bar soap), cair, dan shampo, secara handmade dan telah dipasarkan secara langsung dan mempunyai beberapa konsumen dan marekting digital seperti Istagram, shopee, website, danlainnya. Pelatihan ini dihadiri 50 peserta yang menyatakan bahwa Pelatihan yang dilakukan sangat bermanfaat, selain itu para peserta mendapatkan ilmu dan pengetahuan baru dalam mengolah produk sabun natural dari bahan alami menjadi natural soap yang memiliki nilai tambah yang berpotensi meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat Kelurahan Mekarjaya, Kecamatan Sukmajaya, Kota Depok. Abstract

TB is an infectious disease which occurs in the respiratory system. Since the implementation of DOTS nationally in 2000 to 2014 has shown positive progress. However, there are still many challenges that must be faced by the government. One of them is the knowledge of TB sufferers themselves who still need to be improved regarding all matters relating to TB disease, especially regarding the DOTS strategy In 2015, the number of pulmonary TB patients treated at the Pipit Hospital in Anutapura General Hospital in Palu from January to May totaled 115 patients. Based on preliminary studies at Anutapura General Hospital, the majority of TB patients stated they did not know or had never heard of DOTS. They only know the common signs and symptoms of pulmonary TB, which are coughing for more than two weeks and know the combination of TB drugs that must be taken. This study aims to analyze the relationship between patient knowledge about pulmonary TB with the DOTS strategy. The design of this research is analytic with Cross Sectional approach. The population in this study was all patients in the Pipit treatment room at Anutapura General Hospital, Palu in January-March 2019, amounting to 114 people. The sample in this study was 24 people using simple random sampling technique. Data analysis use chi-square test. The results showed a relationship between the levels of knowledge regarding pulmonary tuberculosis with the DOTS strategy in Anutapura Regional Hospital in Palu (p-value = 0.011)

Abstract

Kekurangan Energi Kronik (KEK) merupakan keadaan dimana seseorang menderita ketidak seimbangan asupan gizi (energi dan protein) yang berlangsung menahun. Status Kekurangan Energi Kronis (KEK) sebelum kehamilan dalam jangka panjang dan selama kehamilan akan menyebabkan ibu melahirkan bayi dengan berat badan lahir rendah. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan cara penyuluhan Kesehatan dengan menggunakan media power point dan leaflet. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan judul “Penyuluhan Kesehatan tentang Kekurangan Energi Kronik (KEK) Di Desa Mantikole” telah terlaksana pada hari Kamis, 18 Juli 2024 pada pukul 15.00 – 17.00 WITA. Pada saat kegiatan tersebut dimulai, masyarakat sangat antusias untuk mendengarkan materi-materi yang kami sampaikan. Pada sesi penyampaian materi, ternyata banyak warga yang belum mengetahui tentang Penyakit Kekurangan Energi Kronik (KEK). Hal ini tercermin banyaknya pertanyaan yang diajukan terkait penyakit tersebut. Dari 20 warga yang hadir ditemukan 2 orang yang pernah memiliki tanda dan gejala KEK. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini sangat bermanfaat oleh masyarakat di daerah tersebut. Sehingga masyarakat dapat mencegah terjadinya KEK dan segera memeriksakan dirinya dan keluarga ke tempat pelayanan Kesehatan terdekat.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi pembelajaran, jenjang pendidikan, dan sumber belajar mana yang paling sesuai untuk menumbuhkan pemikiran kreatif siswa selama mereka belajar matematika dengan menggunakan paradigma Discovery Learning. Metodologi penelitian ini adalah meta-analisis dari sembilan (9) makalah yang diterbitkan di jurnal nasional antara Juni 2015 hingga Juni 2021. Non-probability sampling digunakan untuk pengumpulan data, dan pengolahan data meliputi pengumpulan data, pengkodean, pengeditan, dan tabulasi. Berdasarkan kajian meta-analisis, siswa SMP yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik dan materi pembelajaran spasial lebih besar kemungkinannya memperoleh manfaat dari penggunaan model pembelajaran matematika Discovery Learning.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Hemoglobin (Hb) adalah protein yang banyak mengandung zat Fe atau besi. Faktor yang berperan dalam memengaruhi kadar hemoglobin di antaranya adalah status gizi dan asupan protein. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Hubungan Status Gizi dan Asupan Protein dengan Kadar Hemoglobin Calon Pendonor di UDD PMI Aceh Utara. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Seluruh calon pendonor yang berjumlah 97 responden merupakan populasi. Hasil penelitian, responden paling banyak memiliki kadar hemoglobin normal dengan jumlah 88 orang (90,7%), responden paling banyak memiliki status gizi gemuk berat dengan jumlah 41 orang (42,3%), dan responden paling banyak memiliki asupan protein cukup dengan jumlah 80 orang (82,5%). Uji analisis statistik chi square dalam menentukan hubungan antara status gizi dengan kadar hemoglobin mendapatkan nilai p>0,05, dan hubungan antara asupan protein dengan kadar hemoglobin mendapatkan nilai p <0,05. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini tidak terdapat hubungan antara status gizi dengan kadar hemoglobin dan terdapat hubungan antara asupan protein dengan kadar hemoglobin pada calon pendonor di UDD PMI Aceh Utara. Kata kunci : Hemoglobin; protein; status gizi ABSTRACT Hemoglobin is an iron-rich protein. Nutritional status and protein intake are two variables that influence hemoglobin levels. The purpose of this research was to see if there was a relationship between potential donors' nutritional status and protein intake and their hemoglobin levels at BDU IRC Aceh Utara. A cross-sectional approach was used in this study. The population in this study was all potential donors, totaling 97 respondents. The study's findings revealed that the majority of respondents had normal hemoglobin levels (88 people, or 90.7%), the majority of respondents had nutritional status with severe obesity (41 people, or 42.3%), and the majority of respondents had sufficient protein intake (80 people, or 82.5%). The chi square statistical test yielded a value of p> 0.05 in determining the relationship between nutritional status and hemoglobin levels, and a value of p< 0.05 in determining the relationship between protein intake and hemoglobin levels. The study concluded that there is no relationship between nutritional status and hemoglobin levels in potential donors at BDU IRC Aceh Utara, however there is a relationship between protein intake and hemoglobin levels. Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study was to determine the level of assertive behavior of students in the Biology Education Department of UIN Alauddin Makassar, to describe students' learning achievements, and to analyze the relationship between assertive behavior and students' learning achievements in the department. Methodology: This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The tool used is a questionnaire to measure assertive behavior, with 42 statements covering three aspects. The data were analyzed using SPSS software with descriptive and inferential analysis techniques. The survey was conducted at Campuses I and II UIN Alauddin Makassar, involving 82 students of the Biology Education Department, batch 2022 and 2023 as samples. Main Findings: The average assertive behavior of Biology Education students is 115 with a standard deviation of 12.25, indicating heterogeneous data and a moderate tendency for assertive behavior. The average student learning achievement is 3.52 with a standard deviation of 0.16, indicating homogeneous data and very satisfactory learning achievement. There is a significant relationship between assertive behavior and learning achievement with a contribution of assertive behavior of 11%. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study revealed a significant relationship between assertive behavior and academic achievement of Biology Education students, with assertive behavior contributing 11%. This finding provides new insights into the role of assertive behavior in influencing academic outcomes, as well as increasing understanding of factors that can improve student achievement in higher education settings.

Abstract

Varicella is a contagious skin infection caused by the varicella zoster virus (VZV). Varicella, scabies, and pityriasis versicolor are diseases with the same risk factors, namely in adolescents with high physical activity and living in crowded places such as dormitories. Case: A 13-year-old male adolescent complained of fluid-filled bumps on the body and face accompanied by itching that had been felt since yesterday. Low fever that fluctuates accompanied by dizziness, nausea since 2 days ago. Due to the itching, the patient scratched the area of ​​the bumps so that the bumps burst. The patient is currently undergoing scabies treatment. The patient also complained of white spots all over the body that had appeared since 2 months ago and worsened when the patient sweated. The patient is a student living in an Islamic boarding school. The patient said he often changed clothes, sarongs, and caps with his dorm mates. The patient also has high physical activity such as playing ball and does not immediately change clothes if he sweats. The diagnosis of varicella, scabies, and pityriasis versicolor is based on anamnesis and physical examination. Treatment options in this case are administration of drugs in the form of Acyclovir 400mg 4 x 2, Paracetamol 500mg 3 x 1, Permethrin 5% applied to the entire body 1x for 8 hours, Fucilex cream 2 dd ue, and Ketoconazole 2% shampoo. Conclusion: in this case, a 13-year-old patient with varicella, scabies, and pityriasis versicolor with risk factors of adolescence with high physical activity and living in crowded places such as dormitories was found.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the determinants that influence employees' interest in utilising the ePuskesmas application as a revenue information system within the Mojokerto District Health Centre. The application was developed to support digitisation in recording and reporting health service revenue administration. This study used quantitative methods through a survey involving 81 respondents from 27 Puskesmas, including administrative officers, cashiers, treasurers, and accountants. A total of 70 usable questionnaires were analysed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach with the help of SmartPLS software. The results of the analysis show that performance expectations, perceived ease of use, and availability of infrastructure support have a significant and positive influence on interest in using the application. In contrast, social influence factors do not have a significant impact. The R² value of 0.754 indicates that the model can explain 75.4% of the variability in usage interest. These findings highlight the importance of ease of use, operational effectiveness, and infrastructure support in strengthening the implementation of digital technology in primary healthcare facilities.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of modern business management approaches in driving corporate growth in the context of sustainability strategies. Using mixed methods that combine quantitative and qualitative analysis, this study examines how sustainability strategies are integrated into the business models of companies in Indonesia. Modern business management demands the integration of sustainability aspects in corporate strategy. This research discusses the concept, implementation, and benefits of business management as well as sustainable strategies that work in the business field, highlighting the importance of balance between economic growth, social responsibility, and environmental management. Data was obtained from 120 medium and large companies operating in various industrial sectors during the period 2020-2024. The results show that companies that adopt sustainable business practices, sustainable management strategies are able to increase their competitive advantage, reputation, and resilience in the face of global challenges. The findings of this study are that the implementation of sustainable strategies with a holistic approach in modern business management that integrates economic value with social and environmental values so as to improve operational efficiency, strengthen brands, increase competitiveness, and create corporate resilience, showing better revenue growth and profitability in the long run. This research contributes to a better understanding of how companies can achieve sustainable growth in a dynamic business environment.
