Abstract

Authentic assessment can help teachers to find out the extent to which students can apply their knowledge and skills in the context of real situations. This is because authentic assessment focuses on activities or tasks performed by students after all the knowledge and skills being taught are adapted to the actual context. The researcher conducted the implementation of authentic assessment on reading comprehension in the tenth grade. The population and sample of this study were tenth-grade students and English teachers at SMA 8 Padang. This research uses descriptive quantitative research. This study aims to understand the form of authentic reading assessment, the level of difficulty, and the problems faced by the teacher in implementing the authentic assessment. The research instruments were documentation, questionnaire, and interviews. The results of the study found that (1) 4 forms of authentic assessment of reading comprehension used by teachers at SMAN 8 Padang, (2) the level of difficulty in implementing authentic assessment of reading comprehension was easy carried out by students, and (3) several problems faced by teachers in implementing of authentic assessment on reading comprehension.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan jumlah dan mengelompokan jumlah kata pertama yang diproduksi, aturan ponologi, dan kelas kata yang paling banyak yang muncul dalam ujaran pertama bayi dalam percakapan sehari hari selama dua bulan penelitian. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Metode ini digunakan untuk menghitung, mengelompokan dan menganalisis data yang didapat berdasarkan keadaan yang sebenarnya. Sumber dari penelitian ini adalah kata-kata yang memiliki arti yang muncul dalam ujaran-ujaran yang diproduksi bayi dalam percakapan sehari-hari secara natural. Data diperoleh dengan cara merekam 120 percakapan pada saat bayi berinteraksi dengan yang lain. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis dengan teori pemerolehan bahasa pertama. Untuk menemukan kata yang diproduksi, pola ponologi, dan kelas kata yang paling banyak diproduksi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa selama dua bulan penelitian bayi memproduksi 87 kata dengan 37 makna sebenarnya. Didalam kata yang di produksi ini terdapat proses penghapusan, penambahan, pengulangan dan penyederhanaan kata. Penelitian ini juga menunjukan bahwa kata yang diproduksi bayi terbagi atas tiga kategori, yaitu satu kata dengan satu pola, satu kata dengan dua pola dan satu kata dengan tiga pola. Terakhir, penelitian ini juga menunjukan bahwa kelas kata yang paling banyak diproduksi bayi yaitu noun.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan kendalasemantik gramatikal yaitu kendala dalammenentukan makna yang terbentuk karena proses gramatikal yang dialami oleh bahasa minangkabau yang terdapat dalam Koran Singgalang khususnya pada kolom Palantadan menemukan  afiks derivasi yang banyak mengalami kendala semantik gramatikal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kata dalam kalimat yang mengalami kendala semantik gramatikal dari afiks derivasi bahasa Minangkabau dalam Koran Singgalang khususnya di kolom Palanta tahun 2012-2013 yang terdiri dari 75 artikel. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kendalasemantik gramatikal dalam afiks derivasi yang dapat dialami oleh seluruh tipe afiksasi : prefix,(65%),{pa-},{ba-},{di-},{ta-},dan {maN-}.Suffix (10%), {-an}dan confix(25%){ma-an},{di-i},{di-an},dan{ka-an}.Kendala dalam  menentukan makna yang terbentuk karena proses grammatikal disebabkan oleh variasi dalam proses pembentukan suatu kata.   Kata Kunci:Semantik Gramatikal,Minangkabunese,afiks derivasi, Prefix, suffix, infix, and confix.

Abstract

This research focuses on word formation processes found in Forum Jual Beli Hewan dan Perlengkapan Hewan Kota Padang (Padang Facebook Trading Forum of Animals and Animals Equipment). The aims of this research are (1) to find types of word formation processes, and (2) to identify parts of speech of the terms involved. This research is a descriptive research. The results of the analysis of data are presented in the form of description and explanation. Data in this research were 95 special terms used in the activity of trading in FJB Hewan dan Perlengkapan Hewan Kota Padang. These data were gained and analyzed by means of observation and interpretation by the researcher. Results of the research show that there were nine processes of word formation involved in the creation of trading terms in FJB Hewan dan Perlengkapan Hewan Kota Padang. They were 34 borrowings (35,79%), 15 abbreviations (15.79%), 12 clippings (12.63%), 10 blendings (10, 53%), 9 compoundings (9,47%), 6 affixations (6,32%), 5 letter symbols (5,27%), 3 reduplications (3,16%), and 1 backformation (1,05%). Then, there were four parts of speech in which the trading terms belong to. They were 56 nouns (59%), 16 verbs (16.90%), 22 adjectives (23%), and 1 adverbs (1.05%).

Abstract

Kurikulum pendidikan di Indonesia mengalami perubahan pada tahun 2013. Perubahan tersebut merupakan usaha untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di Indonesia. Pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, kurikulum yang digunakan adalah berbasis teks. Beberapa tahun kemudian, untuk mewujudkan visi dan misi agar masyarakat dapat beradaptasi dengan kemajuan pengetahuan dan teknologi, pemerintah mengeluarkan kebijakan tentang Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) dan diperbarui dengan Gerakan Literasi Nasional (GLN). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kegiatan literasi yang dilakukan di sekolah dan melihat respon siswa setelah dilaksanakan kegiatan literasi. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan untuk mempertimbangkan literasi sebagai inovasi kurikulum di sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara terstruktur dan teknik pengumpulan angket. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah pedoman wawancara dan lembar kuesioner. Wawancara dilakukan dengan tujuh orang guru Bahasa Indonesia di Sumatera Barat dan Angket diisi oleh 30 orang siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam pelaksanaannya, literasi tidak dilaksanakan dengan aturan yang ditetapkan. Tujuan dari literasi tersebut juga tidak tercapai dengan mestinya. Dalam pelaksanaannya, kurikulum dan literasi seolah-olah merupakan dua hal yang berbeda dan pelaksanaan yang tidak sejalan. Padahal, kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan merupakan kegiatan literasi. Khusus pada pembelajaran bahasa, literasi yang dilakukan adalah literasi baca dan tulis.

Abstract

This article aims to investigate the extent to which the implementation of Scientific Approach by English teacher who taught in tenth grade at SMAN 7 Padang. Researcher tries to see the implementation of Scientific Approach in teaching and learning process, assessment and problems faced by the English teachers in teaching and learning process using scientific approach in 2013 Curriculum. Kind of the research is descriptive method. Data of the research were taken from observation and interview. Direct observation were done to see the activities and assessments conducted by English teachers in the classroom. Then, the researchers interviewed the English teacher to know the extent to which the implementation of Scientific approach in teaching and learning processes related to observing, questioning, experimenting, associating, and communicating. Then, the problems in the teaching and learning process were identified. The results showed that 69% of the steps in the scientific approach implemented by the English teacher. However the English teachers only used 62% of assessments based on the 2013 curriculum. Atferwards, there were problems faced by English teachers in the learning process in each steps in the scientific approach in the aspect of 2013 Curriculum.Key Words: Implementation, Scientific Approach, Teaching English, 2013 CurriculumIMPLEMENTASI PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS PADA KELAS 10AbstrakArtikel bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi sejauh mana penerapan Pendekatan Saintifik oleh guru Bahasa Inggris yang mengajar di kelas X SMAN 7 Padang. Peneliti mencoba untuk menemukan penerapan Pendekatan Saintifik dalam proses belajar dan mengajar, penilaian dan permasalahan dalam proses belajar dan mengajar dengan menggunakan Pendekatan Saintifik pada Kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara. Observasi langsung untuk melihat kegiatan dan penilaian yang dilakukan oleh guru Bahasa Inggris di dalam kelas. Kemudian, peneliti mengadakan wawancara dengan guru Bahasa Inggris untuk mengetahui sejauh mana penerapan Pendekatan Saintifik dalam proses belajar dan mengajar yang berkaitan dengan observing, questioning, experimenting, associating, and communicating. Kemudian, Permasalahan dalam proses belajar dan mengajar tersebut kemudian diidentifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa 69% tahap-tahap pendekatan saintifik diterapkan oleh guru Bahasa Inggris. Akan tetapi dalam penilaian guru Bahasa Inggris hanya menggunakan 62% jenis penilaian berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013. Lalu, dalam proses belajar mengajar terdapat permasalahan yang dihadapi guru Bahasa Inggris di setiap langkah – langkah pada pendekatan saintifik dalam aspek Kurikulum 2013.Kata Kunci: Implementation, Scientific Approach, Teaching English, 2013 Curriculum

Abstract

PENILAIAN OTENTIK KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA UNTUK KELAS I SEKOLAH LANJUTAN TINGKAT PERTAMAAbstractAuthentic assessment plays an important role in the process of learning evaluation. It covers three domains namely affective, psychomotor, and cognitive domains. To assess students’ speaking skill, teachers must apply appropriate authentic assessment to the students. This paper presents the result of a study on developing authentic assessment of speaking skill of English at grade 1 MTsN Batusangkar. Data were obtained through questionnaire, interview, validation checklist and practicality checklist. There were 32 students as the respondents. This paper revealed that there are six authentic assessment models appropriate for grade 1 Junior High School, they are role play, information gap, picture talks, brief question and answer, narrating sequences, and pair dialogue. It is suggested that teachers may apply the six authentic assessment models in assessing students’ speaking skill at grade 1 Junior High School. Key Words: authentic assessment, development model, speaking skill, junior high school.AbstrakPenilaian otentik memainkan peran penting dalam proses evaluasi pembelajaran. Penilaian otentik mencakup tiga domain yaitu: domain afektif, psikomotor, dan kognitif. Untuk menilai kemampuan berbicara siswa, guru harus menerapkan penilaian otentik yang sesuai dengan siswa. Artikel ini menyajikan hasil penelitian tentang pengembangan penilaian otentik untuk keterampilan berbicara di kelas I MTsN Batusangkar. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner, wawancara, ceklis validasi dan ceklis kepraktisan. Ada 32 siswa sebagai responden. Makalah ini mengungkapkan bahwa ada enam model penilaian otentik yaitu role play, information gap, picture talks, pertanyaan singkat dan jawaban, narasi urutan dan dialog pasangan. Hal ini sangat disarankan bagi para guru untuk menerapkan enam model penilaian otentik dalam menilai kemampuan berbicara siswa.

Abstract

The aim of language teaching is to enable learners to be fluency in the language being learned. Some efforts have been done by the teachers in the process of teaching and learning in language class such as using various methods and strategy of teaching to make the students learn in the class but the results are still far from the expectation. Multimedia, that can be found easily nowadays, can be used to enhance the learners’ language skills. The use of silent story, picture cued, TV news, comic strips are among the multimedia that can be used by teachers as the solution to make the learning process more motivated for the learners to practice their language skills orally and in written form. Multimedia has a power to motivate learners practice their language in a contextual situation then they acquire the language.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to find out the teachers’ knowledge about authentic assessment, how to arrange the instruments of authentic assessment, how to implement authentic assessment, the consideration of authentic assessment in deciding final mark of the students, the problems faced by the teachers. The subjects of the research are 10 teachers and 56 students of grade VII and VIII of Junior High School A and B Padang. The data were collected through questionaire, interview, and document analysis. The data were analysed descriptively. The findings of the research are (1) the teachers’ knowledge about authentic assessment is good enough to implement authentic assessment based on the standard of authentic assessment; (2) teachers are able to arrange the instruments of authentic assessment, especially on speaking and writing, but because there were various kind of text to be assessed, teachers’ knowledge have to be increased; (3) the implementation of authentic assessment is not good enough in the process of learning, (4) teachers still need training and guidance book to implement authentic assessment in learning process.
