Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of understanding DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 116/DSN-MUI/IX/2017 on the implementation of sharf contracts in sharia electronic money services. The fatwa emphasizes the importance of the principle of taqabudh and the prohibition of riba in currency exchange transactions, including in the digital context. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey technique on 56 respondents who use sharia electronic money services. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability, with results showing that all statement items were valid and reliable. Normality and simple linear regression tests showed that the data were normally distributed and that there was a significant positive effect between understanding of the fatwa and the implementation of the sharf contract. These results reinforce the theory that a good understanding of sharia plays a role in increasing compliance with the principles of digital sharia transactions. The implications of this study encourage the strengthening of education on the principles of digital muamalah fiqh through DSN-MUI fatwas as a basis for the development of a sharia electronic money system.

Abstract

Donor-expressed breast milk is a recommended alternative in particular circumstances, such as premature birth and maternal mortality. Currently, donor breast milk practices posted on social media platforms have increased, often without adherence to standard safety procedures, which raises concerns about bacterial and viral transmission. Coliform contamination in expressed breast milk is often attributed to insufficient sanitation during the cleaning of breast milk bottles. This study aimed to examine the presence of Coliform bacteria in donor-expressed breast milk before and after pasteurization using the flash heating technique. This study used a quasi-experimental pre-post-test design. The samples consisted of donor-expressed breast milk obtained from registered donors whose infants were younger than 12 months and who had completed the required health screening. Breast milk samples were examined before and after pasteurization using the Most Probable Number (MPN) method. Based on the analysis of 9 expressed breast milk samples, the results showed a decrease in the mean Coliform bacterial count after pasteurization, although this decrease was not statistically significant (p-value = 0.090). In conclusion, the flash heating pasteurization procedure decreases the quantity of coliform bacteria in donor-expressed breast milk.

Abstract

Stunting remains a major public health problem in many developing countries, primarily due to inadequate nutrition. Nutrition education has been widely implemented; however, comparative evidence on the effectiveness of different communication pathways and educational media in promoting sustained maternal behavioral change remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of communication pathways and educational media in supporting behavior changes related to toddler nutrition. Studies were identified using the PICO framework through searches in PubMed and Scopus, following PRISMA guidelines.  The inclusion criteria were open-access articles published between 2020 and 2025 that assessed behavioral outcomes and evaluated communication pathways or educational media. The methodological quality was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) critical appraisal tools. Of the 2,500 articles identified, 14 studies met the inclusion criteria. The results indicate that interpersonal communication provides the most consistent evidence to support sustained nutrition-related behavioral change through personalized two-way interactions. Community and mass communication pathways mainly improve awareness and attitudes, with less consistent effects on long-term behavior. Educational media, particularly video-based media, enhance engagement and comprehension but are most effective when integrated into interactive communication pathways. Combining communication pathways with educational media appears to be the most effective approach for improving maternal feeding practices.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. The research aims to synthesize monocarbonyl analogs of curcumin (MAC) and evaluate their anticancer activity. The synthesis was carried out by sonication method through Claisen-Schmidt condensation reaction using base catalysts, namely potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide. Characterization of the compounds was carried out using TLC Scanner, ATR-IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR. Monocarbonyl analog of curcumin compounds A, B, and C have been successfully synthesized with purity of 91.13; 95.82; and 87.57%, respectively. The resulting compounds are yellow solids and have good yields. The monocarbonyl analog of curcumin compounds were then tested for cytotoxicity against breast cancer cells (T47D, MCF-7, and 4T1) and normal cells (Vero). Pharmacokinetic prediction and toxicity (ADMET) was performed using an online site (pkCSM). Monocarbonyl analogs of curcumin compounds were predicted to have a better pharmacokinetic profile compared to curcumin. Molecular docking was carried out using Autodock Vina to determine the interaction of curcumin and monocarbonyl curcumin analog compounds with EGFR, Bcl-2, and p53 mutants. Based on molecular docking, the proposed monocarbonyl analogs of curcumin generally exhibit lower binding affinities that curcumin and form specific interactions with amino acid residues inf target proteins. Keywords: Claisen-Schmidt condensation, molecular docking, monocarbonyl analog of curcumin.

Abstract

Abstract

This study is based on the phenomenon of changes in the practice of the Lulo Dance, which was previously rich in social and cultural values but is now undergoing a shift due to the passage of time and the influence of globalization. The purpose of this study is to identify shifts in traditional values in the performance of the Lulo Dance and to analyze the factors influencing these shifts in Ambepulu Village, Tongauna Subdistrict, Konawe Regency. This study employs a qualitative approach using the case study method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study consist of local community members involved in the performance of the Lulo Dance. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that a shift in traditional values has occurred within the Lulo Dance, encompassing changes in the community’s values, attitudes, and behaviors. The Lulo Dance, which was once sacred and rich in cultural values, is now more oriented toward modern entertainment. This change is evident in the use of remixed music, changes in costumes, and a diminishing understanding of traditional values among the community. The factors influencing this shift include internal factors, such as changes in public mindset, as well as external factors, such as globalization, social media, and technological advancements. The conclusion of this study indicates that the shift in traditional values within the Lulo Dance represents an adaptation to the changing times; however, preservation efforts are still necessary to ensure that the cultural values it embodies are not lost.
