Abstract

The advancement of information technology has had a significant impact on the banking sector, including PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia, which relies on the New Delivery System (NDS) application to support its digital services. NDS is designed to ensure that banking services remain stable, scalable, and fast, even in the face of significant spikes in transaction volumes. As one of BRI's flagship applications, NDS has proven reliable in supporting banking operations. However, performance evaluation is still necessary to ensure the system's readiness to handle growing demands in the digital era. This study uses Performance Testing methods to analyze the performance of NDS using the Apache JMeter tool. Testing is carried out through Load Testing and Stress Testing to measure the application's response under various workloads. Evaluation parameters include response time, throughput, and transaction failure rate. The testing simulates different usage scenarios, from normal to extreme load conditions, to ensure system reliability in various operational situations. The results show that under normal load, NDS has an average response time ranging from 244 ms to 739 ms, throughput of up to 22.26 samples/second, and a transaction failure rate of 0%. However, in high-load scenarios (Stress Testing) with 500 users, the response time increases to 12,691 ms, throughput reaches 36.03 samples/second, and the transaction failure rate is 73.10%. The tests also reveal that CPU usage is close to its maximum capacity (85%), while memory usage remains stable. The analysis shows that NDS requires further optimization in middleware and load distribution to improve application performance and stability. This study provides valuable insights for the development of similar applications in the banking sector to support more stable, efficient, and responsive services.

Abstract

This research was conducted to develop and evaluate learning design using Augmented Reality (AR), which aims to improve critical thinking and problem-solving skills in basic turning topics. Methodology – The learning design was developed using Design-Based Research (DBR), with process stages: preliminary study, development, and evaluation. Literature review and instruments inform the learning design of teachers and student needs on basic learning to ensure students have the skills for practice. Part of the learning design, including modules and storyboards, is created to provide an overview of learning design outcomes. The learning design and storyboard are evaluated by learning design experts and mechanical engineering teachers. Findings – The result of the development learning design is feasible because it is needed based on the problem indicator points in the preliminary study activity. So, this learning design will be a reference for AR-based learning media. Significance – These findings indicate that learning is based on Augmented Reality (AR) and teaching that uses the PJBL model, and this must be fostered in machining engineering learning to increase students' success in making work steps for a product. This learning design helps teachers improve teaching and student learning in the classroom before practicing on real machines.

Abstract

The shift from print to digital reading has posed new challenges for students, requiring them to navigate non-linear texts, evaluate multimodal information, and read reflectively. Although Discovery Learning has proven effective in enhancing comprehension, limited research has explored its integration with constructively responsive principles for digital reading. This study investigates student responses to a Discovery Learning model grounded in Constructive-Responsive principles at Universitas Kuningan. Using a qualitative case study design, 32 fifth-semester students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program participated in four instructional sessions. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed thematically. Findings show that students responded positively at each learning stage, with strong engagement during the stimulation and data collection phases. They displayed autonomy, metacognitive awareness, and strategic behavior through digital annotation, source evaluation, and collaborative synthesis. However, difficulties arose during the verification phase, particularly in assessing the credibility of sources. Overall, the model was well-received and viewed as effective in supporting digital reading comprehension. The study provides valuable insights for educators and curriculum developers seeking to promote digital literacy through responsive, student-centered instruction.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of South Kalimantan’s local potential into fluid physics learning materials. Using a qualitative descriptive-exploratory design, the research employs observation, documentation, and literature review as data collection methods. Field observations focused on identifying local resources such as ironwood, floating houses, and floating markets, while interviews with physics educators provided additional insights. Data analysis involved thematic reduction and categorization to highlight key connections between local potential and fluid physics concepts, including hydrostatic pressure, Pascal's Law, and Archimedes' Principle. The findings demonstrate that local resources can be effectively incorporated into physics instruction, enhancing the relevance of abstract concepts for students and fostering deeper engagement with the material. The integration of local potential not only contextualizes learning but also promotes cultural awareness, making physics education more meaningful and connected to students' everyday experiences. This study offers valuable implications for curriculum development, emphasizing the importance of context-based, culturally responsive education in science.

Abstract

The development of satellite data has played an important role in monitoring natural disasters on the Earth's surface. Providing an overview of the current conditions of a volcanic crisis, including information on lava flow extension, is a challenge in observing volcanoes. Various methods were used to map lava flows, such as identifying lava on optical satellite images and detecting thermal anomalies emitted by hot lava. This study aimed to generate a preliminary map of active lava flow caused by the 2022 Mauna Loa eruption in near real-time by analyzing fire radiative power (FRP) data acquired from Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (S-NPP) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration-20 (NOAA-20) satellites. FRP data was filtered to identify lava flow using statistically determined thresholds from its value distribution, including the 5th percentile, 3rd quartile, mean, and 95th percentile. The obtained active lava flow map is evaluated using confusion matrix analysis by comparing the estimated map with the reference map. The maps generated using various thresholds were compared, and the best result was provided by the threshold of the 3rd quartile, with S-NPP and NOAA-20 FRP threshold values of 27.2 and 27.9 MW/pixel, respectively, with overall accuracy reaching 97%. The higher threshold reduced the overestimated lava location represented by a false positive (FP) value. The results show that the active lava originated from the summit caldera, and the eruptive fissure on the northeast flank extended to the northeastern area with an estimated daily distance reaching about 18 km from a certain reference point. This preliminary lava flow map can provide general information regarding areas prone to lava flows, especially around Mauna Loa, and support related parties in updating hazard zones rapidly. The findings should help make immediate decisions for evacuation routes and public warnings when an eruption occurs without visiting the volcanic area directly.

Abstract

Design thinking holds significant potential to drive innovation in science education, helping to address complex challenges and advance technological and industrial development. This study aims to analyze trends and research opportunities in design thinking within science education from 2018 to 2023 using a bibliometric approach. Data from 997 articles indexed in Google Scholar were collected through the Publish or Perish application and analyzed using VOSviewer. The results indicate a decline in the number of publications during the study period, although high research activity was recorded in 2018 and 2019. However, opportunities to integrate design thinking with interdisciplinary concepts, such as innovative teaching methods, remain significant. Therefore, the implementation of design thinking in science education can open avenues for broader innovation in teaching and learning. This study implies an enhancement of science education through the integration of design thinking, offering strategic directions for future research and practical applications in curriculum and pedagogy development.

Abstract

Pelatihan penulisan artikel ilmiah untuk publikasi di jurnal ilmiah bereputasi merupakan bagian dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang memiliki tujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis artikel bagi civitas akademik di lingkungan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Sasaran kegiatan adalah civitas akademik di lingkungan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia yang terdiri dari Dosen dan Mahasiswa sebanyak 40 orang. Pelaksanaan pelatihan dilaksanakan secara daring dengan beberapa tahapan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah ceramah, selain itu terdapat sesi tanya jawab serta diskusi, setelah pelaksanaan pelatihan peserta diberikan tugas dan pendampingan secara intensif untuk penulisan artikel ilmiah. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan secara bertahap, tahap awal yaitu tahap persiapan mulai dari observasi dan analisis kebutuhan, selanjutnya tim melakukan sosialisasi dalam rangka menjaring peserta pelatihan yaitu civitas akademik yang terdiri dari dosen dan mahasiswa. Tahap pelaksanaan dilakukan secara daring melalui zoom, mulai dari menyajikan materi yang berkaitan dengan penulisan artikel ilmiah, praktik langsung menulis artikel ilmiah, dan evaluasi di akhir kegiatan pelatihan. Pelatihan dilaksanakan secara terjadwal, dilaksanakan selama 6 bulan dengan jadwal setiap minggu dilaksanakan dua kali sesi pertemuan untuk melihat kemajuan dari penugasan yang diberikan. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam menulis artikel ilmiah. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat di akhir kegiatan bahwa peserta pelatihan dapat menyusun artikel ilmiah sesuai dengan aturan dan kaidah. Selain itu peserta pelatihan dapat menggunakan template artikel sesuai dengan gaya selingkung jurnal yang akan dituju, dan yang paling utama peserta pelatihan dapat menghasilkan artikel ilmiah yang berkualitas yang siap untuk dipublikasikan di salah satu jurnal ilmiah sesuai dengan bidang keahlian penulis.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills (CTS) are among the 21st-century skills needed. Preservice physics teachers need CTS to solve problems critically, not only in academics but also in life. This research offers a comprehensive perspective and understanding of critical thinking skills as a framework for measuring the ability of preservice physics teachers. The approach is qualitative with methodology analysis, and the documentary content produces a theoretical competence framework. Findings are then applied to determine CTS indicators' relevant competencies, such as clarity assumption, interpretation, analysis, reason, and evaluation. Preservice physics teachers can understand and use these results to evaluate CTS. The research emphasizes optimizing CTS for preservice physics teachers because education is increasingly complex and dynamic.

Abstract

Di era digital, metode pembelajaran yang lama sering tidak lagi efektif dalam membuat siswa tertarik dan memahami pelajaran matematika. Karena itu, dibutuhkan cara baru yang lebih sesuai dengan perkembangan teknologi saat ini. Workshop ini diselenggarakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dan mahasiswa dalam memahami dan mengajarkan matematika, dengan menggunakan gamifikasi yang didukung oleh aplikasi berbasis Role-Playing Game (RPG). Pendekatan ini bertujuan menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menarik, aktif, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan zaman sekarang. Workshop dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu: (1) Perencanaan, di mana peserta dikenalkan pada konsep gamifikasi dan cara menerapkannya dalam pembelajaran matematika; (2) Pengembangan, yaitu pelatihan untuk membuat dan menggabungkan aplikasi RPG ke dalam materi ajar; dan (3) Evaluasi, dengan melihat tanggapan peserta terhadap pelatihan yang telah diberikan. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 10 guru dan 100 mahasiswa dari berbagai wilayah di Jawa, Sumatra, dan Riau. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta, yaitu sebesar 100% untuk mahasiswa dan 66,7% untuk guru, berdasarkan hasil pretest dan posttest. Para peserta merasa pendekatan ini membantu membuat siswa lebih aktif, tidak cepat bosan, dan lebih mudah memahami konsep matematika yang sulit. Selain itu, para guru juga mendapatkan keterampilan baru dalam menggunakan teknologi untuk mendukung proses mengajar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik terhadap materi karya tulis ilmiah dan keaktifan belajar melalui penggunaan media gimkit dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tindakan kelas dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus pada kelas XI-10 di salah satu sekolah menengah atas. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes pilihan ganda, observasi, angket, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif melalui perhitungan nilai rata-rata dan persentase ketuntasan, serta kualitatif melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman peserta didik yang ditandai dengan kenaikan rata-rata nilai dari 60,15 pada prasiklus menjadi 84,03 setelah perlakuan. Peningkatan juga terjadi pada nilai tertinggi dari 70 menjadi 100 dan nilai terendah dari 40 menjadi 75. Selain itu, hasil angket dan observasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pada indikator keaktifan belajar seperti bersemangat, menjawab pertanyaan, bertanya, berdiskusi, dan melaksanakan tugas, dengan peningkatan persentase keaktifan mencapai lebih dari 85 persen. Dengan demikian, penggunaan media gimkit terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan keaktifan belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.
