Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of interpersonal communication skills in students' social lives, especially at SMA N 1 Jepara, where some students still experience communication difficulties due to low self-confidence, nervousness, and a tendency to withdraw from social interactions. These problems are closely related to parenting styles and self-confidence development. This study aims to describe the implementation and effectiveness of group guidance services using sociodrama techniques to improve students' interpersonal communication skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of a non-equivalent control group type. The study participants were students from class X1.1 of SMA N 1 Jepara, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through Likert scale questionnaires and interviews, while data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the study indicate that group guidance services using sociodrama techniques are effective in improving students' interpersonal communication skills. Through role-playing and dramatization of real social situations, students become more open, empathetic, and confident in expressing their thoughts and engaging in interactions. Therefore, sociodrama can be considered an effective alternative technique in group guidance to develop students' interpersonal communication skills.

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of group guidance services utilizing sociodrama techniques to mitigate negative friendship circles among students at SMA N 1 Bae Kudus. This research is novel as it specifically addresses the impact of negative friendships on adolescent development and employs sociodrama as a therapeutic intervention. The quasi-experimental design involved a one-group pretest-posttest method, revealing a significant reduction in the average score of negative friendship circles from 93.75 (high category) to 75 (medium category), indicating an 18.75% decrease. Hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference (p = 0.018), confirming the positive effect of sociodrama techniques in enhancing students' understanding and management of their social interactions. This study provides valuable insights for educators and counselors in addressing peer relationship issues in schools.

Abstract

Individuals with feelings of inferiority tend to mask their shortcomings due to a lack of self-realization, which impacts various aspects of life such as career, social relationships, and mental health. Based on the results of observations and interviews with BK teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Jekulo Kudus, it was found that students showed symptoms of inferiority such as withdrawal, indifference, envy, and feeling uncomfortable when working in a group. This study uses a case study method in AB students of grade VIII E with an individual counseling approach using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), specifically the Cognitive Restructuring technique  to correct cognitive distortions that affect the counselor's negative beliefs. Data was collected through interviews with BK teachers and counselors, as well as direct observations at school. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles & Huberman model. The results of the study show that the factors that cause the inferiority of AB students come from internal factors such as negative mindsets, feelings of inferiority, and difficulty interacting, as well as external factors in the form of lack of family support and social pressure. CBT interventions have been shown to be effective in helping ABs identify and change negative mindsets to be more adaptive. After the counseling process, AB showed significant improvements in self-confidence, social interaction skills, and emotional management.

Abstract

This study aims to increase students' acceptance of tradition at SMA Negeri 1 Mejobo Kudus, through group guidance services with cognitive restructuring techniques. Tradition plays an important role in the formation of character, morals, and collective identity, but globalization and modernization have led to a decline in the participation and appreciation of the younger generation towards tradition. This study uses a quantitative approach with a One Group Pre-test Post-test design involving 8 students as a sample selected by stratified random sampling. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test show a significant increase in the acceptance score towards tradition from an average of 103.125 (low category) to 184.125 (very high category), with a significance value of 0.012 <0.05. So it can be concluded that group guidance services with cognitive restructuring techniques are effective in changing students' negative mindsets towards tradition to be more positive and rational, thereby increasing students' involvement and appreciation of traditional values.

Abstract

Improving the quality of village officials is an important factor in supporting effective governance and optimal public service delivery. This community service activity aimed to map the competencies of village officials in Kedungdowo Village through psychological assessments and the measurement of technical job knowledge. The methods employed included the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule (EPPS) personality test, the Lee-Thorpe Occupational Interest Test, and a technical knowledge test related to village governance based on the regulatory framework for village officials in Kudus Regency. A total of 11 village officials participated in the assessment, and the results were analyzed using a triangulation approach that integrated personality traits, job interests, and technical competencies. The findings indicate that each individual demonstrates a distinct competency profile, highlighting the importance of aligning job placement with psychological characteristics and technical abilities. The recommendations generated from this activity can serve as an objective basis for village governments to implement merit-based personnel management, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and quality of public service delivery at the village level.
