Abstract

Vocational education plays a crucial role in preparing students to meet the demands of the industrial world. At SMK Muhammadiyah Ngawen, the implementation of the Field Work Practice (PKL) program is evaluated using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) model to assess its effectiveness comprehensively. Despite the importance of PKL, few studies have thoroughly evaluated its alignment with industrial needs using a structured evaluation model. This study aims to analyze the implementation of PKL evaluation at SMK Muhammadiyah Ngawen through qualitative methods, including observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the PKL evaluation is conducted effectively, supported by solid collaboration between schools and industrial partners, and has enhanced students' practical skills and job readiness. The novelty of this study lies in its structured use of the CIPP model in a vocational setting to identify gaps between school training and industry expectations. The implications suggest the need for broader industry partnerships and curriculum adjustments to strengthen the relevance of PKL programs in vocational education. Highlights: Highlights effective PKL evaluation using the CIPP model. Reveals strong school-industry collaboration in vocational training. Recommends curriculum alignment with industry needs. Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of Field Work Practice (PKL) on work readiness and career motivation of vocational high school students. The high unemployment rate among vocational high school graduates indicates a gap between graduate competencies and the demands of the world of work. Therefore, increasing work readiness and career motivation is crucial in bridging the gap and preparing students to face the world of work optimally.Methodology: This study uses a quantitative approach with a causal design. The sample consisted of 78 grade XII students of the Motorcycle Engineering Department at SMK PGRI 5 Jember who were selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using a validated Likert scale questionnaire, covering indicators of field work practice implementation, work readiness, and career motivation. Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression.Findings: The results of the study showed that field work practice had a positive and significant influence on work readiness (p < 0.001; t = 8.366) and students' career motivation (p = 0.002; t = 3.772). These findings indicate that direct involvement in the world of work during field work practice contributes to increasing technical competence, mental readiness to face the challenges of the world of work, and strengthening students' orientation and enthusiasm in planning their future careers.Contribution: This study shows that fieldwork practice is an effective strategy to simultaneously improve work readiness and career motivation of vocational high school students. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the implementation structure of fieldwork practice and closer collaboration between schools and the industrial world. These findings can be the basis for developing more relevant and adaptive vocational curriculum and vocational education policies. In addition to providing technical skills, fieldwork practice also plays a role in developing 21st century competencies.

Abstract

Abstract

Hasil kajian mengidentifikasi lima model dominan: (1) Adaptive Professionalism Model (Tran Minh), (2) Contextual Digital Competency Model (Grisma et al.), (3) Sustainable Digital Transformation Model (Vorotnykova), (4) Reflective and Collaborative Agency Model (Averina & Kuswandono), dan (5) Academic Engagement-Based Development Model (Tias & Tongjean).

Abstract

This study aims to implement classical guidance in improving the social skills of tenth-grade students at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Genteng through the cooperative learning method of the jigsaw type. The research employed a Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) approach conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 33 students of class X.3 who experienced difficulties in interacting with peers and teachers. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ social skills after the application of classical guidance integrated with the jigsaw method, as indicated by the increase in self-confidence, communication skills, and group collaboration. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of cooperative learning models into classical guidance services, which are generally dominated by lecture methods. The contribution of this study provides an alternative strategy for guidance services that is more interactive, collaborative, and contextual, serving as a practical reference for school counselors to optimize students’ social skill development in secondary education
