Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the perspectives of learners from English departments on the use of TikTok for second/foreign language (L2) vocabulary learning. This study is a continuation of a preceding survey study involving 116 learners from 26 universities in ten different provinces in Indonesia. The participants of the present study were six selected learners from three universities taken from the preceding study. This study employed semi-structured interviews and the interview data were analysed using Thematic Analysis. From the Thematic Analysis, the study found three recurring themes. They perceived various English videos on TikTok to be useful to facilitate vocabulary learning. English content created by native speakers was also perceived positively as a good vocabulary-learning resource. Nevertheless, they also noted that the effectiveness of TikTok as a vocabulary learning media largely depended on whether learners could optimally use it for learning purposes. Based on the findings, it is suggested that teachers bring TikTok into the class to optimally use its potential and leverage its popularity among learners. By doing so, teachers can also facilitate learners not only to be passive users but also to produce English content they could post on the platform. It can potentially make learning more fun and meaningful for learners.

Abstract

Seiring dengan maraknya usaha kuliner yang ada di Indonesia, membuat para pebisnis ikut serta membuat bisnis di bidang kuliner. Hal tersebut karena usaha dibidang kuliner yang sangat menjanjikan. Salah satu bisnis kuliner yang ada di Jakarta adalah Shaokao Station yang mana menjual makanan jenis sate khas China. Setiap pelanggan dapat memilih jenis sate sesuai yang mereka sukai. Restoran Shaokao station sangat cocok untuk berkumpul bersama teman dan keluarga mereka menyediakan permainan seperti darts dan menyediakan shisha. Shakao Station memiliki cukup banyak member tetapi omset setiap bulannya tidaklah stabil. Diduga karena adanya Brand Awareness dan Word of Mouth yang rendah dan hal tersebut berpengaruh kepada Purchase Intention dan Purchase Decision. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari Word of Mouth dan Brand Awareness terhadap Purchase Intention dan dampaknya pada Purchase Decision untuk konsumen Shaokao Station. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan kusioner yang disebarkan pada 100 orang konsumen Shaokao Station. Dengan menggunakan analisis path, penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa Word of Mouth dan Brand Awareness memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Purchase Intention dan memiliki dampak pada Purchase Decision.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah untuk melaksanakan salah satu Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Selain itu, melalui kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini, keberadaan perguruan tinggi diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman dan penerapan mengenai 3M di era pandemi dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan adalah tim pelaksana mengunjungi PT. Abisatya Panca Nawa yang beralamat di Ruko Cordoba blok F No. 10 BSD, Tangerang Selatan dan memberikan pelatihan pada Hari Rabu tanggal 17 Februari 2021. Pelatihan ini bertujuan agar karyawan dapat memahami pentingnya penerapan 3M dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan, terutama sebagai bekal dalam menghadapi virus di era pandemi covid-19 sekarang ini. Hasil kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah bertambahnya keilmuan mengenai cara penerapan 3M yang baik dan benar, khususnya di bidang kesehatan yaitu menggunakan masker dengan baik, mencuci tangan dengan baik dan menjaga jarak di masa pandemi seperti sekarang ini. Ilmu yang didapatkan pada kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini diharapkan karyawan mampu menerapkan 3M dengan baik dan benar di Kantor maupun diluar Kantor untuk mengantisipasi tertularnya virus covid-19. Kata kunci : Penerapan 3M, Kinerja Karyawan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of price, promotion, and product completeness on consumer loyalty through customer satisfaction at ACC Andi stationery stores. The research method uses a quantitative approach with explanatory research techniques. Data was collected through a questionnaire from 230 respondents selected by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis uses the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with SmartPLS. The results of the study show that price, promotion, and completeness of products have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction and consumer loyalty, both directly and indirectly through customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction has also been proven to have a positive and significant effect on consumer loyalty. These findings indicate the importance of the right pricing strategy, effective promotion, and adequate product completeness in increasing consumer satisfaction and loyalty. The implications of this research provide insight for stationery store management in developing effective marketing strategies to maintain and increase the loyal customer base during increasingly fierce industry competition

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and assess the feasibility of short film-based audio-visual learning media for anecdotal text material in class X SMK. The population and sample included 31 students, utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) approach. Following the ADDIE model's five steps—analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation—the results indicated the media's validity and suitability for class X SMK students, as determined by media and material experts. Media expert I assessed it as 90% "very appropriate," media expert II as 86% "very eligible," material expert I as 85% "decent," material expert II as 82% "decent," and teacher's assessment as 94% "very feasible." Tested in SMK Bina Taruna 2 Medan, it received 88% "very feasible." In conclusion, the short film-based audio-visual learning media for anecdotal text material is deemed suitable for class X SMK, serving as an effective learning medium.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and assess the feasibility of short film-based audio-visual learning media for class X SMA, focusing on saga material. Using the modified Borg and Gall development model with eight steps, including research, planning, product draft development, individual and small group trials, revisions, and improvements. Results showed that the short film-based media received high validity and feasibility ratings from two media experts (94% and 92%) and two material experts (91.3% and 72%). The Indonesian language teacher assessed it as 86% "very feasible." Testing on SMA Bina Taruna Medan's X-grade students yielded a score of 80.36%, indicating "decent" performance. In conclusion, the short film-based audio-visual learning media for saga material in class X SMA is validated and deemed feasible for effective use as a learning medium.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of three-dimensional book learning media for writing poetry in class X. Employing the 4D Research and Development model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate), the quantitative approach and Pre-Experimental Design were utilized for data analysis and media effectiveness testing, respectively. Validation involved four participants: two material experts (90.66%) and two media experts (89%), all categorized as "Very Good." Practicality assessments by 32 subject teachers and X ODTKP students yielded "Very Good" ratings (94% and 87.02%, respectively). Media effectiveness was confirmed by a posttest average (75) surpassing the pretest average (57.62). Inferential statistical analysis (t test) revealed a significant difference (tCount = 14.00, tTable = 1.69), supporting the conclusion that the three-dimensional book media effectively enhances poetry writing learning for class X at SMK Abdi Negara Binjai.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe the development of interactive multimedia for teaching folklore (saga) writing based on literacy for Class X students at SMA Al-Hidayah Medan. (2) Assess the feasibility of the developed interactive multimedia for teaching folklore (saga) writing based on literacy for Class X students at SMA Al-Hidayah Medan. (3) Evaluate the effectiveness of the interactive multimedia product for teaching folklore (saga) writing based on literacy for Class X students at SMA Al-Hidayah Medan. The research follows the DDD-E model (Decide, Design, Develop, and Evaluate). The participants include content experts, media design experts, graphic design experts, Indonesian language teachers, and Class X students at SMA Al-Hidayah Medan. Validation results from content experts indicate very good criteria for content feasibility (81.2%), presentation feasibility (90%), language usage (83.3%), and graphic design (87.5%). The overall assessment places the interactive multimedia for teaching folklore (saga) writing based on literacy in the "very good" category. Design expert validation results also show very good criteria for guidance and information (87.5%), operational software (87.5%), and systematics, aesthetics, and media principles (81.1%).

Abstract

Teaching materials for writing short stories, delivered through animation-based modules, were developed for class XI students at SMA Al-Wasliyah Pasar Senen Medan. This Research and Development (R&D) study aimed to produce and assess the quality of these modules. Conducted with 25 students, the research involved five steps: (1) information gathering, (2) product development, (3) validation test, (4) product revision, and (5) product trial, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative analysis. Validation results showed high approval from material and media experts, with scores of 86% and 87% respectively. Analysis of short story writing scores revealed positive outcomes, with 18 students scoring above 75. Student feedback on the module's feasibility yielded a 90% approval rating. Thus, the developed teaching materials, utilizing animation media, are highly suitable for enhancing short story writing skills among class XI students at SMA Al-Wasliyah Pasar Senen Medan.

Abstract

This study aimed to depict the development, validation, and feasibility of employing Scrapbook learning media for biographical text material in class X SIVIA at SMA Istiqlal, Deli Tua. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) approach following the Borg and Gall model, including needs analysis, media development planning, validation, design improvement, product testing, and product revision, involving 150 students. Purposive sampling was employed, with 26 students selected. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected. The outcome is a Scrapbook-based teaching material. Material expert validation I resulted in a "Good" categorization at 79%, while Material expert validation II reached 82%, indicating a "Good" rating. Design expert I yielded an 80% rating, also "Good," while Design expert II achieved a "Very Good" score at 86%. Teacher responses rated at 82% were deemed "Good," and student responses, totaling 87%, were "Very Good." Trial results from 26 students demonstrated improved learning outcomes using Scrapbook teaching materials.
